came to Dowling Ford in Cheshire when I went on line to schedule a recall service. While I was making an appointment there was a special deal offered for a free oil change and tire rotation it indicated $79.95 value as I read it. I'm a senior citizen so it seemed like a good deal as I have been looking for a new Ford Dealership to use and this add brought me in. During the service evaluation they never told me in advance that the service was not as the add indicated. Only after they had my vehicle did they tell me about this. They also recommended I change the air and cabin filter I had told them to do for $190 until the bait and switch with the oil change. I then told them no I'll pay for the oil change. I did speak with your service manager (Jordon Boots) about this concern. He was very disrespectful he indicated it's not like Dowling Ford is a food bank, like I needed to use a food bank what an ugly statement to make and smiled while stating it. I left there feeling horrible the way he spoke of me. If this is how you treat new potential customers, seems a strange way to gain them. I will be sending this same communication to Ford corporate customer service to let them know how I was treated as three time Ford F150 purchaser. I was very impressed with your service advisor Andrea Piccorillo(997). But your service manager Jordon Boots is very disrespectful and lacks proper communication and shouldn't judge people because they complain. ABSOLUTE CROOKS! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I don't even know where to begin with this place. My truck needs work. They tell me it will take 15 hours and will need it for a few days. I get a call the next day saying it's ready so I am thinking "great, it won't be as much since it took less time". Not at this place! When I pick it up and question why I am paying 15 hours of labor for a job that took 8, the moron service guy attempts to explain it to me by saying "it's billable hours just like lawyers". REALLY? So your business model is based on the biggest crooks on the planet, lawyers?!? And he actually has the gall to tell me "that's how master technicians make their money". So here is how a conversation to hire someone at Dowling goes... "hey master technician..you should work for us. We make up some artificially high billable number we give to customers. We tell them 15 but it only takes you 5. They have no idea! We do that to two customers every day, and we are making 30 hours of labor but you only work on the vehicle for 10. It's a win-win!! You have been warned! Take your vehicle to a local mechanic and support them. Dowling is by far the worst, most deceptive company I have ever dealt with. To reiterate, my relatively new Ford F-150 PowerBoost (Hybrid) Crew Cab pickup truck blew its' 10 speed automatic transmission in it when it had only 10, 700 miles on it. And, it took them 6 weeks to get the parts needed to rebuild it. That's about 5 weeks too long. As if that's not bad enough, Lauren Dowling, dealer/ principal, et al., that she had supposedly entrusted to "do the right thing," prior to all of these matters taking place, went out and apparently hired ALI BABBA and the 40 thieves, none of whom had any privilege and /or authorization from me for them to do so, went "shopping" in the rear compartment /rear seat and initially took 2 sets of custom made CARHARTT seat covers, two headrest covers, an $80.00 DICK'S Sporting Goods bag full of their clothes which I bought there on sale, a new set of FORD front l chrome tow hooks, ..... AND WE'RE STILL COUNTING! Interestingly enough since my truck was finally returned to me (a decorated and disabled Vietnam Era Veteran who is unable to operate two vehicles simultaneously) one of the set of custom made CARHARTT seat covers previously told to me that supposedly the U.S. EPA declared that they were at a Toxic (Deadly) level of supposed containments and told DOWLING FORD that they needed to be disposed of, burned, chemically, et cetera. This was all a ruse which was of many of the lies and fairy tales told to me throughout this bizarre, unusual, highly illegal debacle. DOWLING refers to all of the items that her people had stolen from me as ALLEGED. I have a receipt and an invoice of what I had paid for at two of the stolen items. They aren't ALLEGED, because I actually owned these items as I owned all of the stolen items that aren't in my truck anymore which they were prior to all of this highly unlawful noise. LAUREN DOWLING then pulled a classic SKEL / PERP suck head play and she called the Cheshire Police to be "protected" from me. If that isn't rich! She's not out a thin dime, and several of her employees; her subcontractor's employees have enriched themselves quite handsomely at great losses to me. No one should give a dollar of their business to her, and her Criminal Organization. Please do not reward her, her employees for lying and attempting to covering up all of their criminal activities, her sub-contractor and / or his lying, thieving employees lying. I'm waiting to hear her "sell" such garbage affirmative legal defenses to the court. She will need to tell 8 jurors and 2 alternate jurors that I, unlike all other U.S. Citizens, DO NOT ENJOY a U.S. Constitutional 4th Amendment Right to "Ownership of property. Brought my truck to Dowling 2 weeks ago for a check engine light that came on and my heated seats weren't working. This was on a Tuesday. They called and said the needed to order parts and they won't be in until Thursday. Can I leave my truck? I told them no, I will bring it back Thursday. Dropped it off at 8:00 am and the girl told me she would call later to let me know how it was going. She never called so, I called at 4:30 in the afternoon and she said the check engine was fixed but, they needed to take the seat out and replace the heat coils and that will take 2 days. Can I leave my truck over the weekend? I said No, I will drop it off Monday. So, Monday morning at 8:00 AM I dropped it off. Never heard from them so, I called at 4:00 PM and she said they were working on it, and it won't be ready until tomorrow. When I got off the phone, I check the location of my truck on My Ford App., and it said my truck was parked in the back lot for 13 hours?? So, the next morning at 8:30, I checked the app again and it didn't move. Checked again at 10:00 and again at 11:30 and it hadn't moved. So, I took a ride to see what was going on and my truck was still in the same spot as it was when I dropped it off Monday morning at 8:00 AM. I went inside and asked the girl if my truck was done because I see it in the back. She said she would check. When she came back, she said, the technician didn't get to the parts dept yet but, he will be done today. So, I showed her the app on my phone that my truck had not moved in 2 days. She almost shit herself. She didn't know what to say. I told her to give me my key and I left. When Scott Logan, the service manager, emailed me thanking me for being a customer, I told him my experience, and this was his reply. Tim, Thank you for sharing the details of your experience with me. I'm sorry to hear that things were handled so poorly. I've already spoken to both the service advisor and the shop foreman to ensure that issues like yours are handled differently in the future. Wow. Where do I even begin? Everything about this car buying process was easy, painless, and most importantly, honest. I have never encountered a dealership like this one. Most of time they are filled with employees that do not care about you, only your pockets. That is not the case here. You are completely taken care of at Dowling. I came here last week to test drive a Bronco Sport. I didn't intend on buying anything right away. I wanted to feel the car out first and save a bit more money for my down payment. Dan was my salesman and there was absolutely NO pressure whatsoever. I let him know what my intentions were, and he educated me on everything I needed to know. This was my first car purchase, mind you. Every other car I've owned was given to me by family so you can imagine the amount of anxiety I was already feeling. Dan asked if he could check in with me after a few days to which I said was perfectly fine. Sure enough, I was the one calling HIM the following week to ask if we could start the buying process. If I could give this dealer 0 stars I would. I bought a car from them mid June, less than 3 years old with less than 22k miles. This car has had water leak issues, electrical issues, radio issues and more. The 2nd day after I brought it home, I contacted this dealer about the issues. They seemed uninterested to help and told me to bring it to a local Toyota dealer of mine. I dropped the car back off at their dealership to have the issues resolved. It took 3-4 weeks to get the car back (mind you I only had it for a few weeks at this point) and no loaner or anything was offered. I picked the car up to find out there were more issues and the ones I brought up had worsened/ been ignored. After months of fighting with Rich Perry, sales manager, I got absolutely nowhere so I ended up bringing it to a local Toyota dealer that I trust because he had little to no care about the problems I've been having. I've now been without the car for 2 months and they're willing to do nothing to help me out. They've consistently ignored my messages and said there's nothing they can do to help. In total, I've been without the car, making payments on it for about 3 out of the not even 5 months I've owned it. If you're thinking about buying a car here, I very highly advise against it. I purchased a 2015 Ford Fusion from this dealership on July 30, 2022, about 2 hours after bringing the car home I noticed the transmission was shifting hard. I immediately called them back and brought the car back the following Monday. They had the car for 5 weeks and said they rebuilt the transmission. When I finally picked the car up and drove it home not only was the car still shifting hard, but there was also now leak and it was making noise while steering. There was also a noise in the rear I kept hearing. I called them back the next day and they had me bring the car back to them. This time they had my car for 2 weeks and said that the noise in the rear was a golf ball rolling around, that there was no leak, the steering was fine, and the transmission was fine, and I just needed to relearn my way of driving. I was told I need to drive the car 1000 miles for it to relearn my way of driving. Now my transmission is shifting even harder, the steering is still making noises and it is still leaking thus forcing me to take it to another Ford Dealership to attempt to have it service correctly as I do not feel safe driving my family around in this car. I have also found that there was information on the vehicle service records, that I received by calling The Ford Motor Company, about prior transmission issues/services that were done on the vehicle that were somehow omitted from the Carfax they had on their website for the vehicle. This is a family owned dealership and after being there for just a mere 30 minutes, I can tell they take customer relations serious above all else. This is a business you can walk into and walk out making friends whether you purchased or not and that is an EXTREME RARITY in the days of sales. I see I'm not the only one who has had problems with Dowling Ford Service Dept. Specifically the woman working the service desk. First some background. We bought our first cars (a Taurus wagon & a Tempo) at Dowling in 1986. Since then we've purchased five other vehicles from them. And they've handled the maintainence on all of them. Three years ago my wife needed a new battery in her car. I call called Dowling. The woman who answered said If I could get the car started they could replace the battery "Friday." Since it was a Thursday I assumed she meant the car would be ready the next day. When I clarified her statement she said "Oh no. Next Friday." I was shocked that a battery replacement would take over a week. When I pushed back she said and I accurately quote. "Sir, what part of this conversation don't you understand?" I said "are you telling I should go somewhere else?" To which she replied, "Do what you have to do." and she hung up. I called Crest in Woodbridge. (I didn't remember about Bob Thomas in Hamden) The person at Crest asked if I could start the car and drive it down to them. I said yes and did just that. They took my car immediately and replaced the battery. Then they told me that it was still under warranty so there was no charge. We now do all our business at Crest. We've bought three cars there since and I've directed friends and family there too. read more

We had our company van towed there on a Friday for service since it was unable to be driven. I have a limited number of dealerships that my company can use, and they were the closest. I was told that it wouldn't be looked at until the end of the following week because they were short a mechanic. When I called at the end of the week (no call from them) I was told that a transmission had to be ordered and they should be getting it Tuesday (11 days from the day it was towed). I called Tuesday and was told that the transmission hadn't arrived yet but it was expected that afternoon, and it only takes about an hour to install it. No call Tuesday or Wednesday. I called Thursday morning at 8:30 and was told that the transmission had just arrived and it would be ready tomorrow (two weeks from the day they had the vehicle). I told the person on the phone that that was unacceptable and I needed it back today...it's our company delivery vehicle. He said that it needed to be road tested first. I asked for the service manager, Jackie. I asked Jackie if she thought it was acceptable that we had to wait 2 weeks for our vehicle to be repaired, and she said that it wasn't, but we didn't have an appointment. I told her that I expected the transmission to be installed and finished today. She told me that it had to be road tested first, and stuck to her guns...it wouldn't be ready until Friday. How long does it take to road test a vehicle?? I also called them twice while they had the vehicle and asked on the first call for them to do an oil change, and on the second call for them to repair the passenger side door. Neither was done when we finally picked up the van on Friday. This dealership obviously has no clue what it takes to deliver acceptable customer service. For the entire two week period I didn't receive one call from them about the vehicle's status, and then to be told that from 8:30 am until close of business that day they couldn't guarantee that it would be finished tells me that they don't value my business. I'll be sure to find a dealership that does. read more

Terrible in both the service department and sales. They sold me a used car under the pretense that it was 100% road worthy. After a week I brought it into them as it clearly needed front end parts that were crucial to the safety of the vehicle. The car was under warranty at this point, so I expected to only pay the deductible on the warranty. Once they looked it over, they didn't bother calling me to tell me what they were going to do to the car. I got a call from the GRUFF and RUDE service lady telling me I owed them roughly $500. After arguing with them for several hours they didn't budge. The salesman was trying to be downright deceptive. I ended up paying in $1's. After this, I contacted the BBB. Several weeks later I got a call from the dealer asking me if everything was ok, after demanding a refund again they refused to work with me. Hopefully their BBB status was tarnished for this.
