During the test drive, I noticed significant vibrations emanating from the front of the car and substantial noise from the rear brakes. Despite voicing these concerns, I was assured by your staff not to worry and was advised to schedule a service appointment for these issues to be addressed. Given that the car is relatively new, I promptly took the vehicle to your service department for an oil change and a thorough inspection to establish a service record. According to the service recommendations, the rear brakes and rotors needed replacement, along with a full wheel alignment. These repairs corresponded precisely with the issues I identified during the initial test drive. However, when I subsequently brought the vehicle to Wallingford Auto Park for service, I encountered unprofessional behavior from the service manager. He refused to authorize brake or rotor replacement, suggesting that both the dealership and I were attempting to obtain a free brake job. Furthermore, he indicated that the dealership would only cover the wheel alignment costs. This response was both surprising and unacceptable, and it has caused me to question the integrity of the service process. Regrettably, I must also report experiencing discriminatory treatment, notably from the salesperson Phil, which has added to the distressing nature of this transaction. Given these circumstances, I felt compelled to cover the $740 cost of necessary brake repairs personally, as I prioritize the safety of myself and my family above all else. I came here after a terrible experience at the similarly named Wallingford Auto Sales. At the other place, I walked in with my husband several paces behind me and the other sales person looked past me and asked 'how can I help you, sir?' Totally ignored me. Needless to say we didn't buy from them. Then we went to Wallingford Auto Park instead, and we worked with Stephanie (I think that was her name!) and experienced no sexism at all. She was knowledgeable and awesome. But when a different person at the auto park was running my credit, he looked at me and asked, 'Do you *really* own your own business?' If I was a 45 year old man I doubt he would have felt the need to check. But I'm a young woman so I guess he thought it worth looking into whether or not I was being fully honest. So that annoyed me a lot. My age and gender shouldn't have to give that impression. When signing and doing warrantee stuff, the financial guy there was fantastic and patient. The person who ran my credit was not this guy in the side office, he was fabulous. All round good experience, and I think the sexism would be an easy fix by educating that one guy on what is appropriate. read more

Wallingford AP provided me with the best service I have ever received from and auto body shop. Ed in service made me feel like he really cared. He was easy to reach, available to me when I had questions that needed to be answered. His hospitality would be the number one reason I would return. Additionally, I had multiple repairs that needed to be done to my car. another dealership gave me a price that was extremely marked up, as not all auto body shops are capable of doing this job. Still, the service team at Wallingford did it and for a much more reasonable price. I will definitely be returning to the shop if I ever need service work again. It saddens me to write a one star review given I was treated kindly and patiently through a long evening of dealing with an insurance mess up on my part, not to mention they had no problem with me taking the car off to a mechanic for a couple of hours for a pre-purchase inspection, AND I was not to my knowledge lied to to my face. Unfortunately, I WAS lied to, no less than three times. The online profiles and advertisements of the car listed the trim level two tiers above actuality, a lie that was repeated on the spec sheet taped to the car itself. I only found out when I had to ask how to operate the heated seats and they had to admit they were nonexistent despite being explicitly listed on the spec sheet on the car. Ditto with all of the other features associated with the two missing trim tiers. In addition to that huge lie, it was listed as having leather seats, also a fabrication, and finally it was listed as having no accident history, belied before I even saw the carfax by the sheepish, "call me as soon as you read this" when they emailed it over. I still bought the car because to their credit they do have reasonable prices, even accounting for the actual value of their cars, but three lies doesn't warrant anything more than a one star review, no matter how nice, helpful and patient they were. The salesman, Gary, blamed it on the one person that handles all the online stuff making a mistake (you mean three, don't you?), Gina, who very patiently handled our two hours of paperwork said she didn't know anything about the cars, and the owner said they have a third party handle all the online advertising. Perhaps I should eat my words that I wasn't lied to to my face. And then, to add injury to insult, when I drove off I noticed the owner's manual was missing so I'll presumably have to order one from the manufacturer. If you do end up taking advantage of their not unreasonable prices, I recommend not coming in unless you'd be happy with it without any of the options listed. And keep in mind they have two locations within a mile of each other and google maps will direct you to a random one of them which will likely not be the one you need. read more

I bought my car from Wallingford about 2 years ago at this point. I've been to a bunch of used car lots and Wallingford auto park stood out for being above average, specifically for the facility itself and the lot inventory. They have a nice selection of cars at good prices (I feel like I got a great deal) and they are very transparent about the service they perform before the car hits the lot. My buying experience was fine. About what you would expect anywhere, a few small gripes such as the dealership saying the car would receive a final detail before I pick it up, and them obviously never detailing it, they also forgot to fill the gas tank for me. Either way not huge deals. My salesman was good, easy communication, but I can't speak for the service departments. I went back for oil changes a few times but even with an appointment, it was slow, so I take it to valvoline now. Overall a good experience, I'd recommend it to someone looking for a quality used car. The sweet spot at this dealer seems to be the $10-15k range. They need more stick shift cars but thats just my personal opinion ;) read more

I am writing this review a little over a year after I purchased my Mercedes Benz 2016 glc. So when I got this vehicle with under 50,000 I thought what a deal. But when I got my car home two days after my check engine light went on. I knew I should of just returned it. Needless to say I called them right away they told me to bring the car and they supposedly fixed the issue which they didn't. Then the light went on again. I had to take it to Mercedes to diagnose it with fuel injections issues. Brought it back to them to fix the issue since they did not want to pay Mercedes to do the job. They "did" the job but nothing was ever the same. I recently brought my car to Mercedes for a check engine light and they basically told me I need a new engine. This car has 59000 miles since date of purchase. So not even 10,000 miles put on the car. I reached out to Wallingford auto since the "issue they fixed" had a lot to do with this. They wanted no parts of it. Please do not put yourself in the same situation and if a check engine light comes on right after RETURN IT! This car obviously had issues they covered it up and sold me a lemon. read more

Came here with my dad to find a preowned car to buy. I had been emailing back and forth with one of their representatives about an inquiry I had made regarding one of their vehicles listed for $5990. She encouraged we stop in today and try out the vehicle as well as peruse the other Hondas they had available. We drove the 45 minutes to get there when they opened and when we arrived we walked about for a while looking at the cars on the property, and eventually made our way inside to ask about prices. We sat with Jim, who, despite me saying I had a budget of $6000 (which I'm aware would end up being about $7000 all said and done) showed little to no interest in showing us the car I had seen online and ranted for 20 minutes about the benefits of financing a vehicle. I had already told him twice I had no interest in taking out a loan, and my dad even chimed in and said the same at one point. We left disappointed and shocked that despite telling Jim I had the money to buy the car listed for $5990, he didn't even offer to show us the car, let us sit in it, or take it for a test drive. This place started out strong, and had they been true to their word, but as they have given me such a run-around about my vehicle, I figured I would let the people know exactly what to expect from this company. I went to see my new 2012 Honda Civic EX on Thursday, April 16th. Based on the Carfax report and my own research on the vehicle, I was satisfied that unless the vehicle was a horrible drive, I would be purchasing it. I test drove the vehicle with my parents and decided that I absolutely wanted the vehicle. I worked with Rick. He was very helpful and held the vehicle for me when someone came and attempted to look at the vehicle before I came to look at it so that it would not be bought out from under me. I advised him on this date that my mother was listed on the title and for insurance reasons I wanted this to remain the same when obtaining the title to the new vehicle. He stated he understood, and even took copies of both of our driver's licenses. I also advised that as my license plate is easy to remember, I wanted to keep the same license plate number. This was also understood. At this time, we set a date for closing on the vehicle of Monday, April 20th. I obtained my own financing and took the day off work on that Monday in order to ensure that I could get everything done. When I arrived at the dealership shortly after 5 PM, I was transferred from my salesperson, Rick, to the finance manager, Chris. While completing the various forms of paperwork I began to notice that my mother, sitting patiently by my side, was not being asked to sign anything. When I inquired about this, I was told by Chris that he was never made aware that my mother was supposed to be on the title and that it was too late to do anything about it. When I pressed the issue, I was told to go back to my salesperson, Rick, to talk to him about it, at which point I dropped it because I was beginning to see there is a communication breakdown on a fundamental level at this place. As I was walking out the door after all the paperwork having been signed, getting the keys handed to me by Rick, I was advised by him that the vehicle had dealer plates on it because they hadn't even obtained the title yet and needed it in order to register the vehicle, and that they would call me to come back in once the registration and title were completed. I should mention, I live 45 minutes away from the dealership. I left feeling pretty disappointed because it didn't really feel like the vehicle was "mine" until my own plates were on it. As I thought about it, I realized that I had paid $500 for a "processing fee" and had just spent $16K with them, and that this should be their responsibility to bring to me. I was notified the week of May 1st that the registration was complete and to advise them when I could come in to obtain it. I advised them that I would rather do it through the mail, as it's an hour and a half round trip for me and a major inconvenience. I was then contacted by Chris who advised me that I HAD to come back in because he could not give me unsigned registration. When I explained to him that I had taken all the time off work to look at the vehicle and to go get the vehicle, that it was a major inconvenience for me and I should have been told about the fact that I would have to come back so that we could have adjusted the closing date accordingly, he offered to "buy me a tank of gas," and that I would "need to speak to Rick about that because he should have advised you." First, the gas was not the issue. Are you going to give me an hour and a half of my life back? Can you put a price on that? Second, why should it be ME that is the one that is saddled with discussing with Rick what happened? WHAT EXACTLY DO THEY DO THERE? I finally worked out that they would send a driver out to me after a furious email was sent after my conversation with Chris was so unsatisfactory. We agreed to a date of Wednesday, May 6th. On Tuesday, May 5th at 6:40 PM, I was sent a confirmation email for the driver that was coming out to complete the registration on my vehicle and at that time, I was advised that there would be a $20 fee to be paid to the driver for the registration when he came, and if I had any questions to "contact Chris." Well, I stayed up until 2:30 AM reviewing my paperwork and found that I had never agreed to a $20.00 fee, and had paid $106.00 for the REGISTRATION, TITLE, AND FEES. Right now, I'm waiting for this driver to show up and get all the information that is needed so that I can just get the most harrowing large purchase experience of my life over with before I post this to ensure they do what they say. I'm considering getting the Better Business Bureau as well as the Attorney General in on this case because this company has jerked me around on this one too many times. Be careful buying from this dealer. They are an auction seller which means most if not all of the vehicles they have are sourced from auto auctions. The big issue here is the staff. Without going into a lengthy description of my issue here let me just summarize by saying I was basically called a liar by Chris the finance guy and hung up on by Joe the sales guy. Those are actions that professionals don't do to customers under any circumstances. We called back to inform them of this and for SECOND time bringing the vehicle in back to Wallingford. Arranging transportation for pick up and drop off is not easy! There mechanics said they didn't notice anything. We told them the noise started happening after about 15 minutes of driving- still they said they didn't notice anything. We have been so frustrated with this, wasting our gas twice on 2 trips, 2 different vehicles for drop off and pick up with NO RESULTS we brought to our local mechanic to take a look. Our mechanic will be providing us an invoice of the problems the car has. I don't get it, if he was able to figure out what was going on with the car I don't get how Wallingford Auto Park was not. Overall we had a really good experience purchasing a new vehicle here, with only a couple small issues! We purchased a car through Alex, and drove from Boston to come out and look at a few 3rd row seating options. Everything pricing & purchasing related was great, good list price, etc, Alex was very friendly and helpful, but there were a couple issues being from a different state -- although Alex said they do it often, it was very cumbersome. First he said we would have to go to the RMV, and then after financing through our credit union they alerted us to an extra charge on the purchase agreement, which then Alex told us was the runner fee, so they actually would go to the RMV. After that it got a little bit messy, and Alex kindly offered to drive the car down to Mass since there was some procedure related confusion. Alex did in fact drive the car to us the following Monday, but it was only after telling me there wasn't a runner available, even though he had said several times he would have people on standby ready to go all day, and then some back and forth, which was annoying. We would definitely go back, our car is lovely, and Alex was pleasant, but definitely like all major purchases, keep your eyes open :) read more

Honestly I'm a bit disappointed with this place. I bought a luxury vehicle here & within 4 days it already needed to be back in the shop for a minor fix. Service told me it'd be a quick fix, thought I'd have my car back same day but no had it overnight. Let them know I had to work the same night & they asked me to borrow someone else's car. The next morning car still wasn't back & I had a class at 12, couldn't make it there because car was not back in time. They didn't offer a rental or anything. All I asked for when they fix my car was to re detail my interior because I was not satisfied when I bought the car but nope car remained the same if not messier. I called back and asked if I could speak to anyone about the complaints. Was told they'd have the manager call back and address my problems immediately. Waited 2 hours, no phone call back. Earlier today a friend of mine and I were shopping around for a new car for myself and we saw this dealership had a Lexus that I was interested in. When we got to the dealership we found a salesman and got the key for it to look at it. When we looked at the car we found it to be absolutely disgusting inside, had obvious signs of someone smoking in the vehicle and was later informed that a manager had been using the vehicle. When we went inside I asked the salesman if it was possible for me to drive the vehicle to see if it was something I was interested in and he went to go ask the manager. I could hear the manager yell no and told the salesman he either needs to buy the car today or he cannot drive it. With that attitude I promptly walked out and decided to do more research on what they were selling. I later found the car on cargurus and found the vehicle had frame damage and was poorly maintained. I've also found multiple vehicles with similar miles and no frame damage listed for as much as six thousand dollars cheaper. I absolutely would not recommend this place what so ever. read more

I was presented a CarFax report and vehicle history report stating the car was never in an accident and had a clear title. I have recently traded in the Acura TSX for a new car, and was presented another CarFax report stating the car was in a serious accident. Wallingford Auto Park had given me a false CarFax report! I still had the original CarFax report, and the new CarFax report from the dealership, and Wallingford Auto Park had presented me a CarFax report for the same make, model, and color, but with different VIN numbers. Wallingford Auto Park is VERY UNTRUSTWORTHY WITH DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES. This deception is unacceptable and was an outright lie to me and possibly other consumers. I stopped in to look for a car for my 16 year old, I looked up the Kelly Blue Book value and found several comparable vehicles to understand what a fair price would be. I went in and the first guy was trying to feel me out even after I asked 2x to go for a ride in it, finally I said I'm prepared to make an offer and pay cash IF I like the car, he then tells me "this isn't a haggle shop" and brings me to the next guy. First of all....whoa I'm not haggling, I just did some research and I still haven't sat in or taken a ride in this car. So I sit with the next guy and we are talking money (again I don't know why he isn't trying to show me the car) and I showed him the research that this car is overpriced and he offers me $500 off. Mind you, no one has gotten up to show me the actual car. I was pretty insulted that they accused me of haggling after I tell him I'm willing to pay book value in cash. This place is pretty SHADY. If you are thinking of driving here from out of town, please dont waste your time. The used car salesman cliche is what you'll get. I was interested in a Lexus, it had been in a fender bender, which was chop shop repaired so you could still see the dent, the car had remnants of mud and dirt all through it, and it had scuffs and scratches over all four corners of the car. On their website the say they beat Carmax appraisals-another sham-thank goodness I had the paper in my hand or they werent going to honor their own ad. Dont believe the pictures and definitely dont waste your gas. The customer service is not the greatest either. The sales guy didnt even offer to let me see the car for a test drive. Did my research on the car of choice prior to making the 1 hour 20 minute drive down there to drive and buy it. I coordinated my visit via email and set up a time to drive the car. The person who answered my emails said the car would be out and ready to drive. When we pulled up the car was blocked by multiple other cars and they had no idea I was coming down. Apparently who ever answers the emails does not speak to the sales people. The salesman (Bill) acted like it was my fault the vehicle was not ready because I spoke with the internet person and not a sales person. When the car was finally unblocked and ready for the test drive I got in and found out that the power side mirrors dont work. I tested the stereo with my own cd and apparently the stereo doesnt work either because it would not eject my cd. My cd is still stuck in this stereo. They left me waiting in the sales room while they attempted to fix both issues. Finally I gave up and left. Upon inspection of the car I found a large ding, and large scratch across the side. This car was not in as good condition they represented it to be in its online ad. I do NOT recommend shopping at this dealership. read more

My fiancé and I feel we were taken advantage of cuz being in a rush to get a vehicle. We were only told the bare minimum and that the vehicle(a 09 Subaru Forester X with Premium Pkg.) was road ready and good to go. How ever that was not the case. Four days after receiving the vehicle I was driving with my 3 children in the car and all of a sudden smoke and the smell of burning radiator fluid started coming from the hood of the car. I am an experienced mechanic of 9 years and even this shocked me when it happened. I immediately brought it to the shop and they were nice enough to give me a loaner so they could take it in and fix it. The repairs cost over $1200 which they did charge us per Lemon Law standards. We were happy with the situation at the time then after that incident we started to have other issues such as P codes popping up and misfires over the next couple weeks. The vehicle returned to the shop on multiple occasions throughout the next months until we had enough and took it to a friend of my Grandfather's who is a mechanic as well but has been doing such work for much longer than I. Just recently a few months ago He swapped the sparkplugs for the correct plugs cuz we had the wrong ones in the vehicle per the dealership saying it was good to go and drivable 6-7 months prior to this. They swore up and down that it was safe to drive per the service manager telling me over the phone that he would take a fine toothed comb to this vehicle. Apparently it wasn't good enough. After the plugs were replaced along with the coil pack and wires due to corrosion, we tried to start the vehicle one night to go to the store. It was a cold night so it was taking a little bit to try and start but would not kick for some reason. After 2 attempts to start said vehicle backfired like a shotgun blast went off and scared the hell out of myself, my fiancé and my daughter of 18 months. We left said vehicle for a few weeks until I was able to get it to my mechanic again. Apparently we had blown out both exhaust cans, both seals to the center pipe and the main seal near the CAT. My mechanic told me that the timing belt was probably off and the battery was bad. Now a few weeks go by and we get it all fixed up. I bring it up to the dealership that I would like some kind of Compensation for this cuz I feel that this wouldn't of happened if they had done a more through check of the vehicle the last time they had touched it. I brought up my concerns cuz it was suppose to be my fiancé driving it with our now 20 month old child in it. Total cost for repairs to the SUV came to about $1300 parts and labor included. The service manager spoke with the general manager which told him that "they don't feel that the dealership has any responsibility to compensate us for these issues." we have had occurring over the past 10 months so I exclaimed that I would see them in Court. I believe I was being reasonable to an extent. I just want to be reimbursed for the parts. I mean we purchased said SUV with the hopes that we weren't getting screwed over even though the price was a bit out of our range ($8700 something or other plus all the fees) which total close to $12,000+. I do not Recommend purchasing of any vehicle from this dealer ever again. From here on out I will be taking my business to a more trustworthy dealership and never deal with these guys again. Just got my Acura TL here. I am happy with the car but disgusted with the service. My original sales person Joe was great, but delivery of the car was childish if anything. Joe and the finance manager Kristin were both off on the day of delivery but extremely helpful on time of purchase. The backup sales guy Vinny was playing "8 Pool" on his computer the whole time and when I asked him when I was signing the papers as he said; "You are 2 hours early, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?! U CAN'T JUST SHOW UP IN A DEALERSHIP LIKE THIS." Really?! I drove 2.5 hours away and I get treated like I owe u a favor or done something wrong? To complete the sale by the time I got into signing the paper work the backup finance manager (can't remember his name now) looked like he was disgusted by my presence. When I asked for a couple of things I was promised he wouldn't even look at me and felt like he just wanted me out of there. Signed everything and was pretty much swooshed out the door and wished good luck with the new car. REALLY?! A 2013 ACURA TL $28,000 DOLLAR CAR and I get shown the door and wished GOOD LUCK? They are lucky the car was exceptional and what I had been looking for or I would have walked out. Not even a walk to the car or a walk through?! I have NEVER seen a dealer do this in ALL of my car shopping years. When I asked about the 1 year road side assistance and first oil change advertised on their website ( I would never drive back anyways) the response from the finance manager was "Really, NEVER HEARD OF IT"" I FELT UNWANTED, UNWELCOME AND DISGUSTED BY THE END DELIVERY SERVICE. read more

Bought a 2000 Jeep from the dealer 8 months ago. So on the second test drive the jeep wouldn't start. Simple fix the battery terminals needed to be changed. I purchased the vehicle under the condition that the battery terminals would be changed so I don't get stuck somewhere. I reminded the salesman to change them before I left. I picked the car up when it was ready and asked again if the terminals were fixed so I don't get stuck and was assured they were so I drove home. The next day I was at the store and the jeep wouldn't start, terminals weren't fixed. So I had someone help me, drove home and changed them myself. I decided to check the fluids and noticed that I was down One and a half gallons Of coolant so I replaced it. (You would think that would be checked before selling the vehicle as to not damage the engine) Not even a week later the engine light goes on and Jeep starts to misfire, I called the dealer and they said to bring it down. The problem is it's an hour and twenty min drive with the check engine light on so thats not an option. I spoke to the salesman and he said he will call back and follow up to see what was wrong, still waiting (as expected). Took jeep to my mechanic and all the spark plugs were all worn out beyond normal use. Jeep still misfired so the ignition coils needed replacing. Called and informed service station and was told they don't honor outside work. So my complaint is simply the fact that I asked numerous times if the terminals were replaced and they weren't. Im no mechanic but I would think that the spark plugs would be checked on an 18 year old vehicle before selling as well as the coolant level especially when their motto is "Our reputation for quality is reinforced by the 108-point inspection that we perform on every vehicle. Our ASE Master Certified technicians ensure that every vehicle we sell is of the highest quality possible." That's not the highest quality possible, I understand people make mistakes but they should make it right. So it's been 8months and cylinder 5 misfiring again reason,blown engine. read more
