Despite voicing these concerns, I was assured by your staff not to worry and was advised to schedule a service appointment for these issues to be addressed. Given that the car is relatively new, I promptly took the vehicle to your service department for an oil change and a thorough inspection to establish a service record. According to the service recommendations, the rear brakes and rotors needed replacement, along with a full wheel alignment. These repairs corresponded precisely with the issues I identified during the initial test drive. However, when I subsequently brought the vehicle to Wallingford Auto Park for service, I encountered unprofessional behavior from the service manager. He refused to authorize brake or rotor replacement, suggesting that both the dealership and I were attempting to obtain a free brake job. Furthermore, he indicated that the dealership would only cover the wheel alignment costs. This response was both surprising and unacceptable, and it has caused me to question the integrity of the service process. Regrettably, I must also report experiencing discriminatory treatment, notably from the salesperson Phil, which has added to the distressing nature of this transaction. Given these circumstances, I felt compelled to cover the $740 cost of necessary brake repairs personally, as I prioritize the safety of myself and my family above all else. This entire experience has been one of the worst I have had in purchasing a vehicle. I strongly advise potential customers to exercise caution when considering transactions with your dealership.

In the past, I've experienced high pressure sales and tricks from other dealerships. I know the uncomfortable feeling of being a young woman in a car dealership. I really liked how the staff here seemed down to earth and spoke to us as humans. The sales associate (Amber) was nice & forthrite, confirming the vehicle was available & answering all of my questions. The interaction left me feeling positive about this dealership, so I requested an appointment to see that specific car. They confirmed my appointment via text multiple times. The morning of the appointment (that's today!) I decided to text that same number to confirm that the vehicle was still there, as the drive to this dealership is almost 2 hours from my home. They responded & told me that the vehicle was sold, but I should take a look at their other options & let them know which I was interested in so they could have them ready for my appointment. I never showed any interest in their other vehicles. I was very clear that there was one single car I wanted to see, & so that's the car I made an appointment to see. They sold the car & were never going to tell me. They were going to let me drive 2 hours one way to find out the car was gone. That's a really dodgy business practice. Not only will I not be buying a vehicle from a dealership willing to waste my time like this, I'll definitely be advising other people to stay away as well. Amber was a good sales associate & I wish she worked elsewhere.

He told us the optional add ons were not optional on any car and they all come equipped with them, even if we were to order a car through them not on the lot. We negotiated the price based on having these add ons. He was also incredibly pushy. He only had one Corolla on the lot but it was a dark color that we did not want. He got us the color we wanted and said it would be the exact same as the Mariner document he printed of the one they had in stock. Only difference would be the color. When we went to pick it up (a week after they said it would be there and at 6 PM), we had our toddler with us so didn't have much time to look at the car. Once we got home we realized it did not have any of the optional upgrades. We tried handling it with Steve who just yelled and spoke over me the entire time. I told him have the manager call us then I called. He never got back to us until almost a week later after we got toyotacare involved 3 times. Dan the manager was the exact same as Steve. Kept twisting our words and was unwilling to work on a resolution, calling Steve the "most honest guy he knows". You can see from all of the one star google reviews that mention Steve that is not true. Dan also called us liars because we didn't notice until we got home that day. Not sure how that makes us liars when he knows those things aren't included in our car. He also tried to tell us the one we bought is more expensive because more people want them. No more people want them because they're cheaper. It's the exact same car but with no upgrades. How would that be more expensive? You would think they would want to make it right since we have another Toyota that's on the way out. I have also dissuaded my neighbor who is going to be buying a Toyota suv soon and my aunt not to buy from here. I suggest going to any other Toyota dealership nearby unless you like being lied to, bad faith negotiations and being disrespected by grown men.

Miguel, Katie, Amiya (spelling!) and the rest of the crew were easy to immediately connect with. Not only did I leave with a new-to-me car (one I've wanted since I started driving many moons ago, to be honest) but I left with new relationships and ultimately had one of the best Mondays ever -- especially considering I now have an "Ultimate Driving Machine" of my own. Thank you to the whole team! EDIT/UPDATE (June 19, 2026): Well. I wish I was writing this update to say everything after the sale was as positive as the buying experience. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. To be fair, I have no personal issues with any of the employees I've dealt with. Everyone I've spoken with in person, over the phone, or through email has been polite, professional, and easy to work with. My frustration is with the condition of the vehicle and the process that followed. I purchased a 2017 BMW 530i and began reporting issues almost immediately. Within days of ownership, I was dealing with TPMS faults, HVAC problems (the driver's side would blow hot air when it shouldn't), rough idle/vibration concerns, and steering/alignment issues. I reported these concerns and brought the vehicle back multiple times. Additional items that were addressed included broken driver-seat trim, damaged exterior trim, blend door actuator issues, and alignment concerns. As time went on, communication became increasingly difficult. Calls frequently went unanswered, voicemail boxes were often full, and promised follow-ups didn't always happen. The vehicle spent significant time waiting for repairs while I tried to get updates and answers - yes, I was out of a car during Memorial Day weekend. Eventually, I became tired of waiting and decided to have the vehicle inspected by BMW directly, primarily to diagnose the air-conditioning issue. Their inspection revealed multiple coolant leaks, low coolant levels, and leaking front struts. After spending approximately $800 on diagnostics and repairs (including the coolant evac + recharge), the air conditioning finally operated properly. However, BMW also identified several thousand dollars' worth of additional recommended repairs. Wanting a second opinion, I then brought the car to a highly regarded independent BMW specialist. Their inspection identified additional coolant-related issues that BMW had missed, significant oil leakage/seepage, stored fault codes that were not visible on the dashboard, and other mechanical concerns. They repaired an additional coolant-related component that BMW did not identify, and they completed this work for slightly less than BMW's quote. At this point, I have spent roughly $1,800 out of pocket on repairs within the first two months of ownership while contributing less than 750 miles to the car's history. Some of the issues identified across both inspections include coolant leaks, leaking front struts, worn balance-shaft end caps causing oil leakage, a worn-and-ready-to-replace guibo, belt-related service recommendations, wheel concerns, and additional mechanical repairs that could total several thousand dollars. What frustrates me most is that many of these issues appear to have existed long before I purchased the vehicle. The car was presented as being in great condition, yet I am now dealing with a lengthy list of repairs almost immediately after taking ownership. I can accept responsibility for not obtaining my own "external" pre-purchase inspection, but I also don't believe a customer should need to uncover this many significant issues so soon after buying a dealer-sold vehicle represented as being in excellent shape... ya know, despite it being a nine-year old BMW after all. I should've known better, yes. And I did... But alas. To their credit, the Wallingford team has recently been much more responsive. The staff I've spoken with there have, too, been empathetic, professional, and willing to listen. They have offered to perform their own inspection and work with the warranty company to determine what repairs can be covered. I appreciate that effort and remain hopeful they will help bring this situation to a fair resolution. I genuinely love the car. When it's running properly, it's everything I hoped it would be. That's what makes this experience so disappointing. Owning the vehicle has been overshadowed by a constant cycle of inspections, repair appointments, warranty discussions, and unexpected expenses that began almost immediately after purchase. If the dealership ultimately stands behind the vehicle and helps resolve the remaining issues, I will happily update this review again. I sincerely hope that's how this story ends.

NEVER PURCHASE A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP…read more Before my husband purchased his vehicle May 30, we specifically pointed out that the engine was shaking and was assured the issue had been fixed. Within a week, the exact same problem was still present and we had to bring the vehicle back for repairs. The dealership has now had the vehicle since June 8th for two weeks, leaving us without transportation. Throughout this process, communication has been extremely poor. They are refusing to call us back to discuss the repairs, arrange pickup, or offer any accommodation for the inconvenience of being without the vehicle for such a long period of time. They are now telling us the vehicle is ready, but after having a major mechanical issue almost immediately after purchase, we have very little confidence that the problem has actually been resolved. Being left without transportation for weeks and then expected to simply figure out how to retrieve the vehicle myself is unacceptable. We simply requested to Anna that they arrange for the vehicle to be dropped off to me and they refused. They wouldn't even accommodate me to find a way to come pick it up. If this is how customers are treated after the sale, I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. Every time you call to speak with management they are "tied up" I will be filing a complaint with the DCP and BBB Please don't even bother speaking to Brian he just takes notes and doesn't bother to try and find someone who can help.
