    Rice balls

This was our first time here after being recommended and I am so glad that we came. Service was great from the very beginning to the very end of our visit. Our waitress Nicole was phenomenal. Everything from the appetizers to the entrées to the bread with oil at the table was delicious. We were there with two other couples had a variety of different entrées all of which were phenomenal. I would definitely recommend coming here.

Vulajio's is Nonna approved! We started off with the burrata and Sicilian rice balls. The burrata is served with prosciutto, which was fresh, tomatoes, and roasted red peppers. The chicken scarpariello was tangy, spicy, and delicious! My mom said the sliced chicken cutlet in her salad was nice and juicy. We wrapped up our meal with cappuccinos, a single shot of espresso for Nonna, and a tartufo to share. The owner, Joe, was so kind. It was apparent how much he loves what he does and wants to make sure his patrons are happy with his service. There is plenty of parking, as it is located in a shopping center. Conveniently located a couple minutes off of the Taconic exit. Vulajio's also has a private room for events or parties.

We decided to come back to Vulajio's because our first visit was very positive. This time we were very disappointed. We ordered a shrimp bacon wrapped appetizer that was on a special menu. When the appetizer came in and we bit into the shrimp, it was raw inside. I immediately spat it out (gross, I know) and told my kids not to touch it. My mom said the shrimp was raw and cold on the inside. The waitress apologized and offered another appetizer on the house which we declined because our food was coming out soon. The rest of the dinner was delicious. However, I don't think I can bring myself to come back after being served undercooked seafood. When the bill came they took off the cost of the appetizer ($22 BTW!) but wouldn't offer any additional discounts on the dinner or desserts.

This was our first time here. I've been hearing great things about it so it was on my list of places to go. We went for lunch. I had the chicken piccata and it was delicious! The lunch time portions were perfect. We also enjoyed a nice glass of montepulciano. The waitress was kind, attentive, and polite. We enjoyed our meal here and look forward to visiting again soon

While visiting family in the area we decided to have dinner here. Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall you will find a very contemporary decorated in black & gray Italian eatery. We had made reservations but at 5:00 pm it wasn't crowded. By 6:00 pm more patrons were strolling in. The restaurant was clean & the waitstaff along with the owner(s) were extremely attentive throughout our meal. Everyone aimed to please. We ordered two appetizers, the special of the day grilled calamari & shrimp & the mainstay Burrata appetizer. Although I'm not a calamari fan, my dinner companions said it was excellent. The Burrata was very good as well. I had a glass of the Moscato & my companions had some cocktails & house red wine. All were perfectly made. Our entrees were the Filet Mignon with creamed spinach, Zuppa di pesche fra diavlo & chicken franchese. The beef was perfectly cooked to medium rare as ordered & could have been cut with a butter knife. The Zuppa was all seafood over pasta. No skimping on the seafood. My chicken was tender in a delectable lemon butter sauce. All came with a side salad. We ordered a slice of cheesecake to share & decaffeinated cappuccino's. All presented well. My only qualm was the $10.29 "operating" fee. They really should state up front that this will be added if you use a credit card. You'll find this notation at the bottom of your bill stating "pay by cash & save!" Had I known this I could have brought cash. Our meals for 3 were over $200.00 & the $10.29 operating fee wasn't going to break us. It was just the principle of the thing. We will visit again with cash.

I wanted to make this memorable for all of us. Enter, Danny's Table. This little gem in the Village of Fishkill met every expectation and exceeded them. We took an early dining hour and were seated immediately by Arnoldo, the host, who checked often to assure that we were comfortable and satisfied. We were expertly served by two waitresses, Nayeli and Dyan. And then came the delicious food. The appetizers were so good that I forgot to take pictures of the entrees. I had it all. Great food, great service, and the excellent company I brought with me was already in the bag. I don't know how they could have achieved this level of excellent service and fine dining when they have only been open since September, 2025, but wow! I can only assure you that my siblings and I will be back. And, we will be back soon!

Though he served bread once and never asked if we wanted more! Now for the food The Hanger steak, with Arugula Salad and feta cheese (tasty) fries are French fries nothing special, the Hanger Steak was served medium rare with a bit of Chimichurri ( tasteless) needed salt n pepper, very tiny portion for the price. Duck a l'Orange also kind of small portion and not particularly tasty, served with red cabbage and blood orange au jus!! Shrimp Linguini, nothing out of the world, needed salt n pepper, very bland. Nod for the good, the Cheese Burger and fries was super duper yummy.

We have dined at Aroma Osteria in the Hudson Valley for many years, back when it felt like a…read moreserious Italian restaurant with soul, technique, and pride. Sadly, that restaurant appears to have left the building, possibly with the original owners, the chef, the seasoning, and the olive oil. This meal was tragic. Not "bad night" tragic. More like "someone replaced the kitchen with a reheating station and hoped nobody would notice" tragic. The Cozze Aglio e Olio arrived with all the emotional depth of hot sink water. Mussels, garlic, EVOO, Calabrian chili, grilled ciabatta--on paper, a beautiful thing. On the plate, no flavor, no acid, no seasoning, no pulse. It tasted like the ingredients had been introduced to each other via email. The arancini were worse. Calling these Sicilian rice balls is generous. Risotto was clearly not involved. This was mashed rice paste with mortadella and smoked mozzarella doing an impression of Bologna and cheese whiz. For $15, I expected at least the ghost of Sicily. Instead, I got cafeteria leftovers in formalwear. The calamari was flour, sadness, and old frying oil. No seasoning. No marination. No finesse. The oil tasted like it may have been borrowed from the Fishkill Bowling Alley sometime during league night. A rare bright spot was the carpaccio, which was actually pleasant. Thin beef, arugula, Reggiano, truffle aioli--finally, something with a pulse. The roasted beets were roasted in the technical sense only. There was no flavor development, no balance, no reason for them to be there other than to remind the table that vegetables can also be disappointed. The salmon was severely overcooked. Albumen was leaking out like a distress signal. It had the unmistakable energy of frozen portion control fish from Restaurant Depot, cooked until it surrendered. At $33, that is not cuisine. That is a hostage situation. The spinach should have been listed as Spinaci au Fuego. It overpowered everything it touched, like a side dish with unresolved anger issues. The lamb chops were overcooked and baffling. Mint vinaigrette? Potato croquettes? I didn't realize Howard Johnson's had opened a branch in Italy. And the croquettes were not elegant pommes duchesse with egg yolk, Parmesan, and nutmeg. They were breaded mashed potato pucks, likely fried in the same exhausted oil as everything else. The veal saltimbocca was a particularly sad affair. Low-quality veal, no seasoning, no proper reduction, no real wine character. It tasted like someone thickened chicken stock, waved a wine bottle over the pan from across the room, and called it Roman. The olive oil mashed potatoes were equally bleak. Imagine mashed potato day at Gayhead Elementary, except someone forgot to order potatoes and used boxed flakes with water. The "Old School" chicken parm was perhaps the most revealing dish of the night. Yes, chicken parm is Italian-American, not truly Italian, but even comfort food requires care. This was just a fried piece of chicken with no seasoning, fried in the same rancid oil as the calamari, croquettes, and probably the chef's ambition. A child could make this dish. Unfortunately, this kitchen made it worse. The rib-eye was perfect for anyone who considers Texas Roadhouse a culinary destination. No flavor development, no character, no reason to cost $52. The Torta Caprese, however, was actually okay. Which is funny, because the history of torta caprese is famously tied to a fortunate mistake: a forgotten ingredient, a sleepy chef, and an accidental success. Aroma Osteria seems to have taken the opposite lesson from that story. Here, forgotten ingredients and questionable technique did not create magic. They created a $100-plus-per-person reminder that not all mistakes become classics. Service was disappointing as well, though perhaps everyone involved knew what was coming out of the kitchen and had chosen emotional distance as a survival strategy. Aroma Osteria used to be a great Hudson Valley Italian restaurant. Now it is a slightly better experience than Romano's Macaroni Grill, but with higher prices, weaker execution, and far less self-awareness. Anyone with a reservation should ask one question: am I going for dinner, or am I paying premium prices to mourn what this restaurant used to be?
