My wife and I moved to Beaumont/Banning area about a year ago and I knew I needed to find a HONEST and REASONABLE priced mechanic/auto shop. I was very luckily enough to meet Louis (owner) of Vtech and said they work on all types of cars and do most repair services. My water pump went out in my GTI and Louis was the first person I called. He quoted a very fair price to fix the water pump and I could drop off the car that same day. Within a few days, the car was fixed and it was running great. Check engine light pops on again. I called Louis and he says bring in the car whenever I am free. I come the next day, he plugs in the scanner, and a few codes were displaying. Louis recommends leaving the car with him so they could get to the bottom of it. I get a call the next day and he says they cleaned the map sensor and hopefully that will fix the issue. And sure enough it did! I know this a bit of a long review but sometimes finding a great and honest mechanic is like striking gold except you want to tell everyone. Took our car there after they assured us they could fix it, After 2 weeks of back and forth, the car came back worse than ever, as they misdiagnosed the problem. We took it to the dealer, they correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed it in one day. Spoke to the owner of VTech, he basicly called me a liar saying that they did fix it, so why did we have to take it to the dealer to get everything straightened out??? I'll tell you why, again VTech misdiagnosed the problem but refuses to do anything so we are taking them to court. Russ was very helpful before and during the process of having a major maintenance milestone performed. I'd also like to add that I overheard him speaking with a customer over the phone who seemed to be wanting to skip a similar service. He was informing them of how crucial these major services are for long term reliability, while also being respectful and considerate. As far as my car, he showed me an area that might be a concern later on, to keep an eye on it, but didn't try to sell me on something preventative for it right away. I appreciate the transparency and the knowledge he offered, and will service my car there from here on out. I was really pleased with the whole experience. I highly recommend them. I can't say enough good things about this shop. They replaced the transmission in my car ( a used one at my request) and the entire process was handled professionally from start to finish. A couple of months later, my check engine light came on, so I brought it in to have it checked out. They quickly discovered there was an issue with the used transmission they had installed. What really impressed me was how they handled it. They stood behind their work, fixed the problem at no additional cost to me and had my car back to me in a very short time. Crooks absolute crooks, all i needed was transmission fluid put in. Of course at the very end my oil cap needed a casket. It was fine a half hour before. They had to get gas cap from mercedes which cost 100 bucks. There con artist, they act all cool but over charge.... read more

My low tire pressure sensor went on. Luis checked all four tires to make sure there was no leak,then reset the sensor. He wouldn't charge us anything,even when we insisted he charge us something! He gained a customer. I will be taking my car to him for service and repair! 5 star! read more

Definitely my go to from now on! Went there to get one thing fixed and was told to take a look at two other things that needed to be replaced. I haven't been out here more than a year yet and still I do my research and get recommendations for wherever I need to. Been going to same mechanic for over 30 years back home in LA where I used to live. So I had previously been to an auto shop twice out here in Beaumont on recommendations and this place never told me about a couple things that needed attention. When I came here to VTech in Banning, I was told about it. And what I may or may not yet need to take care of as well as taking me to my vehicle, showing me what's wrong with it, what they are referring to and explaining it to me. I don't exactly have the knowledge on what needs to be checked and how often other than your 3,000-5,000 miles oil change. So when I go in for that oil change or anything that I may take my vehicle in for-whatever it may be, it really helps and makes me feel better going to a place where I'm looked out after and told about anything that needs to or will soon need to be taken care of. That's exactly how my mechanic took care of me and my family back home. I'm really glad Rus & Victor looked out for me at VTech! They replaced a broken piece on the hood of my Toyota FJ and replaced brake fluid and power steering fluid. Very grateful to have found this place and meet these guys!! Thank you!! read more

You do what you want, but my experience with V Tech is short of good. They stated they knew how to work on german cars, so we left our mercedes there to fix a coolant leak. After a few days we went to pick it up and now had a check engine light and temp light on. To make the long story short, and after several attempts, we finally said enough. Temp light is still on, but we decided that was enough of them working on our car They did fix the coolant leak,. but we still have a car that is not right, but rather than let them touch it again, we decided to take it as it is rather than let them take another couple of weeks to maybe fix it, maybe not. The owner was nice but we feel he does not know about mercedes as he seemed to think it was not a big deal to drive with the temp light on. We tried to save some money by not going to the dealer. We learned our lesson. We will only let qualified pros work on our car from now on. read more

My son noticed a foul smell coming from ac. My son and his wife just welcomed their first baby and they didn't want baby getting sick. Russ explained how they were going to clean the evaporator with a foam substance and then add a deodorizer to the vents. The gentleman who performed the service was very professional and even showed my husband pictures of how dirty the evaporator actually was. The ac smelled clean and fresh no more moldy smell. They did an amazing job, done in a few hours and very reasonably priced. If you want quality work done right, on time, and reasonably priced then definitely go see Russ and crew. read more

Had a problem with transmission on my Subaru outback, of course the dealer wanted $9000 to put a new one in none of the Subaru dealers around here work on them transmissions so I went to some of the better reviewed transmission places around Yucaipa and in Redlands same thing they don't work on Subaru. I came across VTEC so I gave them a call talk to Russ and took my car in hoping for the best. What a fantastic place! I was honestly thinking well I'm gonna be spending 7 to 8000 for a rebuilt, but in talking to Russ, he said hold on now. Sounds like it might be electrical lo and behold. It was. It was the brain of the transmission. The mechanic working on my tranny was Luis This guy is a computer genius. He pinpointed what was wrong with it a sensor on the outside of the transmission was bad sending signals to the brain on the inside of the transmission. I told him to replace the two outside ones and the whole brain on the inside came out to about $3000. What a relief I'd rather pay 3000 than seven or eight any day they were timely knowledgeable and pleasant. They made a nightmare of a situation tolerable they're in banning I live in Yucaipa. I didn't have a ride. They said no problem. Gave me a ride home. Took care of the problem. Little bit of a wait on Subaru of San Bernardino getting the right part but I'll tell you my car drives like it's brand new they tested everything to make sure nothing else was wrong with it so the transmission they close. Everything was fine. They also found out one of my rear calipers that I had just had put in was defective in leaking so they fix that as well it was still under warranty parts wise. I highly recommend this business. And the guy running the show Russ put your mind at ease while you're there they're not trying to get rich. They just wanna fix your vehicle and get you back on the road. I just turned 65 in this company is what mechanics used to be and should be like I said I highly recommend this business read more
