Do NOT take your car here!!! I dropped my car off to get some body work done and was given about a week estimate before it was ready. Fast forward a month later, I finally got my car back. Getting the car back in itself was a struggle. I live an hour away and had notified them I was coming days prior to pick up my car, as well as the day of. When I arrived at the shop they told me that my car was not there and it would be there in an hour-hour and a half. It took 4 hours for them to bring my car from who knows where? They claim there is a second body shop they take their clients cars to get painted, which I wasn't informed about at all. All the guys working there were extremely rude and unprofessional, they made me really uncomfortable and seemed upset that I wanted my car back. If that isn't bad enough, a few days after I actually got my car, i received 3 parking citations in the mail from a random address in Pacific Beach from 3 separate dates, all of which when they had my car in their possession. The parking citations totaled to $650 and nobody informed me about them (they would've been left on the windshield). I don't know how or why my car would have been left in a residential area an hour away from the shop I dropped it of at, which leads me to believe someone had either abandoned my car there or had been driving it like their own. The shop owner Sean and his dad? wanted to take no responsibility for the tickets, saying the "body shop" was responsible (they couldn't provide me with a name or address of said body shop) and ultimately told me I could figure it out myself and blocked my number from the shop phone. My entire experience with this body shop has been a nightmare, the guys working there are clearly incompetent and have no morals. I have let them change my oil many times and that's not the problem . My issue is after them charging me for the wrong battery and I had to go to another place to get the correct battery the owner could have called me to correct the problem but haven't received a call! Good luck with them keeping repeat customers!!!!!!!!!! One other thing, after 4 years of them changing my oil Sean would just hang up knowing they put the wrong battery in my truck twice? Always does exceptional work and never over sales the repairs. This is why I am writing today...... As I had another auto repair company (in vista) which I won't slam them by name. "The Other Company" Stated that I need a head gasket repair to one of our company trucks , which would exceed about $3200. Saw Mr. Cain and his associates, after getting my truck towed to them and after the diagnosis, my truck was repaired for less than $300 and actually has never ran any better. They fixed the window on my wife's c320 and they thought it might be the window regulator at first as this is a very common repair on these type of. But once they got inside the door panel they found it was just a small plastic part that had broken. Since it wasn't the window regulator, the cost of the repair went down. They could have easily put a regulator in, but they were honest and let me know exactly what part was broken and ordered up the new part. Fixing my AC in my car was frustrating during the summer heat wave. Everywhere was booked for a week. I knew it was a simple fix (Freon recharge) but every single place required me to come in for a $100-$200 inspection/ diagnostic. After calling around to about 10 auto repair shops in North County and talking to professionals at auto parts stores, the guys at VT Auto got straight to the point and fit me in right away. Like I guessed, it was just the Freon and Cain had me in and out in less than an hour. My car is only 2 years old but I drove a lot for work so I was confident it wasn't a leak or the compressor or the belt or anything else. VT Auto was recommended to my by a tow truck driver. The started in my BMW had left me stranded and the shop that I typically would have taken it (and has all 5-star reviews) wasn't helpful as it was close to closing and their estimate for the replacement was ridiculous. Cain at VT said to bring it in and he would take care of it. He did! I was a little hesitant because it wasn't a "European" shop, but the tow truck driver reassured me with the fact that his family drives BMWs and Cain is the only one he trusts. VT did a great job. The car was completed ahead of time, washed and vacuumed and drives like a champ for $200 less than what the other shop was going to charge! Our other car had some issues and we brought it to Cain recently and he fixed what another mechanic didn't and then communicated with that mechanic to have him pay for that portion. He also fixed some small stuff with out adding it to the bill. Again the car was washed and vacuumed and runs beautifully. I got my car diagnosed at the dealer and came to this place to simply replace an o2 sensor. when i came back for my vehicle the staff insisted i needed a whole new motor and that one was already ordered without my consent. I was asked to take my car in 9am. I called 3pm and was not touched yet. Had to leave it there overnight. Went over what specifically needed to be done. Explained that I had an oil leak and what gaskets where already replaced by a previous shop including the valve cover gasket. In addition I asked him to screw in the nuts and bolts for the new 3 point seatbelts that had to be tightened underneath at the chassis. The owner called my the next morning and said my car is done. I asked him did you recheck for any leaks he said of course. Arrived to pick up the car and found out they never secured my seatbelts and later that day found that my oil leak was still there. Do not take your car to VT. They are incompetent and do not care. The shop is a mess and disorganized read more

Two issues: 1. Car bumper removing and re installing was not done correct as they glued the bumper to fender rather than correctly screwed it in. They are not agreeing that they did it but accusing me for no reason!! This is a MAJOR PROBLEM. Per my experience, they are not genuine, my recommendation is not to use them for major auto work. 2. They did not say 3% charge when I paid through credit card. Charging 3% is ok provided it is communicated to me. I noticed this charge in my credit card statement later. When I called them, they say the 3% charge is posted all over the shop! I think a good business practice would be to say 'Sorry if we have not told you when charging credit card'. Later, I sent a cashier check to get credit card refund - This is not an issue anymore as it is RESOLVED. More detail on the 1st issue: I met with a car accident when visiting Oceanside, CA. A traffic cone in the highway hit the front and dented center bottom of the front bumper, broke a piece of the grill and radiator fuel was leaking. Called a towing company to take my car to dealer repair shop but the towing truck man suggested VT Auto for quicker fix due to my drive back to my home state Texas. I wanted them to fix the car to make it drivable and not to do any body damage work. Also asked them to make the fix correct as it is hard for me to come back from Texas for any issue in the repair work. VT auto shop manager or owner Cain was very nice talking and promised me that they will fix good and won't be any issue to bring it back. During the repair work, they took out the bumper to check the front as he texted me with pictures of the damage and also the bumper picture sitting on the floor. I agreed to pay his repair estimate to replace the radiator, AC compressor, AC Freon, tubes. After two days, I paid and took the car, drove back to Texas. In Texas, per my insurance company instruction, took the car to Service King to fix bumper and grill damage. When they removed the bumper to check for any other damage inside , found the bumper top bracket was glued to the fender as supposed to screwed it in! They said the previous work was done poorly by gluing the bumper, they would not fix it. Also my insurance company says they would not cover either! I contacted VT auto asking them if they did the gluing and may need them to cover the cost of the glue fixing. Also sent glued bumper picture to VT auto. Cain got mad and started sending me emails saying he did not do body work and accusing me doing fraud! He did not answer either Yes or No for the gluing question yet. My car stalled on the freeway and the tow truck driver who had picked me up referred me to this place. Worst. Idea. Ever. I was told I needed a new engine, which is not my criticism as I am not sure if it was needed or not. My issue was a few days after I got my car back it started acting up. I took it back and they said they would "fix" it and do it for free. I'm figuring they knew they messed up. I then when back to get my car and few days later my husband noticed it was leaking oil. I decided to take it to another mechanic. This mechanic told me that the engine was put in completely wrong so much so that oil was leaking from the top and the bottom of the engine. I became very concerned because the mechanic asked me if I had any proof that these people were even actually licensed because it had been done so poorly. I would not take my car here. read more

This place is very rude...the worst customer service I have ever had. I'm a female and I am unaware of cars, I tried to learn quickly but they have no patience. I was trying to be nice but they kept ignoring me and telling me to wait loudly and rudly, I didn't appreciate that at all. I should have read the reviews before my visit. Wow only 2 stars!! Now I know why!! I was referred to this auto repair shop by my wife. She does a lot of networking and I'm always taking her recommendations into consideration since it's a personal referral. I completely regret doing so. Cain (the owner) was rude, didn't know how to communicate with customers and to be honest I was more of an inconvenience then I was a customer. I mention to him the issues I was having with my AC in my truck. While communicating to him the problem he would become condescending and rude, for example, "did you not hear me, let me explain it again". These were the responses I got when explaining the issue. He diagnosed my truck and charged $105 (ITEX). NOT once did he give me a quote on repairs or parts or even offer to fix the issue. I had to ask him how much the part is, how long it will take to get in and how much the repairs would be. Now why would I have to ask all these questions if that's what I came in for. Clearly Cain didn't need my business. Like I said before I have no problem paying top dollar for repairs but considering this was a referral from my wife I thought I'd give it a try. I'm sitting at centric auto body in San Marcos paying $1489 in repairs/labor and I don't mind paying someone who wants my monies. It had nothing to do with ITEX, I was just trying to give you business but I'll kindly take my cash business else where.
