I initially saw Dr. Blumenfeld, however, I am currently a regular patient of Dr. Andrew (PA), and…read moreDr. Alycia Sun (PA). Both Dr. Andrew and Dr. Alycia are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I see the Dr's for migraine treatments, which have been well managed with the assistance of the Neurology center teams. The front staff in the offices are friendly. I try to schedule my appointments at the office, as booking appointments with the appointment center can be hit or miss as far as the knowledge and helpfulness of the person scheduling your appointment. I see the Dr's at both the La Jolla and Poway offices. The entrance to the Poway office is a bit tricky, as there is only one door into the building and it is just a small side door. You walk into a reception area for another clinic then turn left and are in the Neurology Center. I disagree that a receptionist is supposed to have in-depth knowledge about which neurological treatments are managed by the center. There are plenty of medical assistants, PA's, and Dr.'s who are knowledgable about Neurological care in the office. Why would you go to a Dr.'s office without knowing what they treat ahead of time?

He reported to the dmv an episode of him passing out *one time* from exhaustion, and now since he checked the "unsafe" box, my husband doesn't have a drivers license anymore. LOVE Dr. O'Shaughnessy! He treated an injury with exceptional care. What a caring physician! My…read morethumbnail got caught on something this evening and he totally prevented further injury. I am very grateful to him for ensuring my comfort and wellbeing. Dr. O'Shaughnessy was so careful to ensure a pain-free procedure. I would forever trust a doctor like him. He and the staff are amazing, including the male nurse and front desk personnel. Special shout-out to DR. VEENA ARUN, too, who saved my vision on an entirely unrelated, separate visit (not in UC). This was a while back. She's an eye-saving ophthalmologist who did wonders when no one else could -- not even my PCP nor ER doctors (with a CT scan when my primary doctor had said I needed to be seen ""STAT"). The woman Dr. Arun LITERALLY saved my vision. The staff got in right away. Dr. Arun rose above and was so calm and professional. Her demeanor made a huge difference. Her treatment was life-changing. (You take your vision for granted until something happens to the contrary, for which I am forever thankful to this skilled, gifted ophthalmologist.

At my August 26th appointment, my doctor explicitly told me--and their website confirmed--that I would receive my results in 2 to 3 days. When that timeframe passed with zero communication, I contacted Sharp, only to be informed that their in-house radiology department is currently 7 to 14 business days behind. I have been dealing with severe pain since that appointment and have an upcoming consultation with an orthopedist on the 8th. Because of this failure, I won't even have my basic radiology results to support my care or show my specialist. It is completely baffling and unacceptable that an in-house department can fall this far behind in modern healthcare. Shame on Sharp for failing their patients to this degree. If you have any alternative options, please go elsewhere--it is clear that things are only getting worse here.
