That alone felt excessive for the amount of time and care provided. What was even more frustrating is their policy that if you have pain in your arm, you are only allowed to discuss one joint per appointment. If you have issues with your shoulder, elbow, or wrist, they expect you to schedule separate visits for each. That is completely unreasonable and feels more like a way to generate more billing rather than actually help patients. The visit felt rushed and nothing meaningful was done to address my issue. Unfortunately, this experience gave the impression that the office is more focused on maximizing charges than on treating patients. I definitely would not recommend this office.

With Rick Stauffer assembling arguably the finest and most motivated team, my recovery now is rated close to 100%. Ricks' right hand man Josh Ostrom had the very difficult task of guiding me through my more severe second injury. Josh was dedicated to me and performed the vast majority of my PT sessions. It looked pretty bad initially as recovery was slow, but he stayed with me and true to his dedication, I am now back to playing golf with zero pain. The woman Dr. Arun LITERALLY saved my vision. The staff got in right away. Dr. Arun rose above and was so calm and professional. Her demeanor made a huge difference. Her treatment was life-changing. At my August 26th appointment, my doctor explicitly told me--and their website confirmed--that I would receive my results in 2 to 3 days. When that timeframe passed with zero communication, I contacted Sharp, only to be informed that their in-house radiology department is currently 7 to 14 business days behind. I have been dealing with severe pain since that appointment and have an upcoming consultation with an orthopedist on the 8th. Because of this failure, I won't even have my basic radiology results to support my care or show my specialist. It is completely baffling and unacceptable that an in-house department can fall this far behind in modern healthcare. Shame on Sharp for failing their patients to this degree. If you have any alternative options, please go elsewhere--it is clear that things are only getting worse here.

I've had bunions ever since I was in elementary school and I didn't know how I got them until I saw Dr. Shoaee and the PT she referred me to. My gait was causing my feet to form this heinous bunions (ugh). Prior to seeing Dr. Shoaee, I was a little weary about getting them removed because I could not find a podiatrist in San Diego with a lot of reviews or great bunionectomy reviews. Any surgery is a huge investment and commitment with the pre- and post-op responsibilities.I decided to go to Dr. Shoaee after months of looking into podiatrists and orthopedists in SD and OC (yes, i was willing to make the commute). Thank goodness I decided to give this office a go because now I am 6 months post-op on both of my bunionectomy with osteotomy procedures. The whole process was smooth thanks to Karina (the main MA), she made my experience a lot less stressful than I had anticipated. Dr. Shoaee is great at what she does and takes the time to evaluate and make sure that you understand what the procedure and post care will be like. She listens to any concerns you might have and answers all of your questions with care, making sure you're reassured and that you know what your next steps are (pun intended).
