Today is the best day ever! I had a mastectomy last Thursday and I care that I received was excellent Dr. Salt was amazing. I have no pain..and following what he said And I was given pains meds but they didn't agree with me. Excellent anestesia Doctor also. I was given a pain shot during my surgery that lasted 96 hrs. So the first 4 days I think that's what help me too I recommend Dr. Salt MD I he a great Doctor in Plastic surgery And the office to is amazing Also. I feel grateful & blessed to travel thru this journey and have such great Doctors along the way. But feel attitude is important too being positive read more

I have been with Sharp Rees Stealy for decades. I would recommend finding a better medical provider. I crashed and hit my ribs, and went in for X-rays after the pain kept getting worse. 24 hours later, headed into the weekend, and I still haven't heard back from the doctor. The x-rays are digital, and the technician was looking at them on the screen as I left. Now I am headed into the weekend with no feedback or results posted, so I guess now I have to wait until Monday or later. I tried calling in, but gave up after 15 minutes in hold. Would have been much better off going to any local urgent care. read more

The team there is great at the OB department! I love MA Adriana and MA Erin. Nurses are great too! I love Nurse Mara. The doctors cover for each other and help each other with their patients. I feel safe coming here knowing that my needs will be met. I've never had a problem with a nurse or MA or doctor. Have in mind I've had appointments rescheduled or moved last minute but healthcare providers are people and they get sick or life gets in the way so I totally understand. Also daily occurrences such as the doctor being busy or having a short time to see me has happened but again, this is normal office visits and they always address my concerns no matter what and they're always professional. read more

I had an appointment at this location in the plastic surgery department. I was very disappointed with the PA that I met with that day. I'm hard of hearing and my hearing aids stopped working suddently before the visit. The receptionist were helpful enough when I explained what was going on. However, the PA Laci Helmhout wasn't. I explained to her that I couldn't hear and asked if she could write down what she was saying and she shook her head and raised her eyebrows saying NO, that it was too much to write. I could not believe that this was going on in a medical clinic. I have a hearing disability and was denied assistance. I left after trying twice to receive accommodation in writing. I will not go there again! You would think that in a medical atmosphere that's supposed to be dedicated to patients health and needs, this wouldn't happen. It was awful! read more

I recommend going to the first floor area near lab and dermatology department on a mon-thurs afternoon and just sit ten minutes in the waiting area while patients roll in and out trying to get appointments that cant be booked for 4-6 months because there's a lack of doctors. You'll also get to overhear the front staff fielding a bevy of calls of the same nature. The experience will have you running in the direction of any other healthcare provider. read more

I've have great experiences at this Sharp location. The lab staff is quick and friendly. I see Richard Clark in ENT for my allergies and he's superb and easy to talk to. I changed primary care providers at the beginning of the year and although my experience with the doctor couldn't have been better, the quality of care that was put into processing my referral was at the opposite end of the spectrum. I was seen at the end of March and it took 2 months to get a negative response. The nurse in my primary care doctor's office was using their new system and instead of following up on it, she seemed to be hoping the problems would just solve themselves and only after dozens of calls and messages did anyone push her to resubmit the information correctly. I would say the worst part was calling the patient advocate over and over again and never getting a call back or returned message. Luckily, this was not a life-threatening illness and I did have other healthcare under separate coverage. I cannot imagine how this would have affected my life if I'd had something serious and time-sensitive that required a higher level specialist. Subscriber beware, hopefully they've fixed things by now but I'll never return to this Sharp hospital or any other. read more

I got to meet one of the sweetest and kindest doctors I've ever met today! Dr. Odhav, you have an incredible bedside manner and I'm so happy I got to meet you today. I had been having a lot of allergy symptoms lately and decided I should definitely get checked out. My primary referred me here and I'm very grateful this was the doctor that was chosen. Dr. Odhav explained everything to me from top to bottom. You know sometimes when you go to the doctor and you feel rushed and like they wanna just get out of the room? It's the complete opposite with this doctor. She was very descriptive, thorough and overall just an all around down to earth doctor. I got my blood drawn by Amy who was also wonderful. I know there's a lot of anxiety and fear associated with getting blood drawn sometimes, but Amy kept up a good conversation and I didn't even feel the poke. Kudos to you! The building is very clean and nice. It has an incredible view as well. Checking in was a breeze and it didn't take long at all until I was brought back. There's many different specialties that are seen here. I can't speak for the other doctors here because I haven't been seen by any, but I highly recommend Dr. Odhav for any of your allergy needs. read more

Maybe the review helped? and someone realized there was a problem. Maybe internal policy was reviewed because over the last few months - wow! Protocols are still in place for the Corona virus, seating & masks etc, but I have yet to see or observe any of the prior review comments I shared. I've been here multiple times with my wife and have been treated as well as my wife who's been the patient. Now, there was one time I was told I could not go in with my wife. Why this made a difference was because the staff shared with me the facility at that time was full with a lot of couples and all spouses were asked to wait outside. The delivery of the message was delivered with what I know as "The Sharp Experience" & was perfect in every way I would expect. I know most people will complain whenever possible but seldom follows up with positive comments when they are well deserved. This review is specifically for **Monica Moody, NP ** at Sharp @ Scripps Ranch on Wexford. [My other Physicans at this location, Derm, ENT, Optometry, the Lab team, are impeccable.] What a traumatizing experience as a first time mom with a high-risk pregnancy. I have never been so uncomfortable during a doctor visit in such a vulnerable time as I was today with my high-risk pregnancy ultrasound appointment. Monica Moody, NP was completely curt and condescending to me during my first visit, before I could even get one word in. She came into the office, coughing into my face/direction, with her single thin-layered face mask (a general cheap mask, not an N95). I asked if she was sick, and with great defense, she barked back "Yes, I am sick. I can't take 3-weeks off of work." She was snarky and rude and spoke over me the entire session, I could not get one word or question in. It was overwhelming. She was very "burn and turn." "You do what I say, you don't question my authority, you don't speak, and then you get out." I was grossly uncomfortable with the unbeknownst/unscheduled procedures she wanted to add to my ultrasound appointment (things that would affect my uterus and my baby). I expressed my discomfort with her and her plan respectfully, and she only got defensive with my apprehensions. When I confirmed for the 4th time that I was opting out of anything but the ultrasound, she replied "Fine, but just so you know, I will need to put down that you DECLINED, and it will be VERY DIFFICULT for you to get another appointment unless you do this right now." She acted as if she received commission on procedures. In addition, when I told her I felt "rushed" she snapped back and said "that's because you were late. Most patients come 15-minutes early." I was early and was at the check-in downstairs, until I got to a representative who informed me that the check in for OB was different and at a different section of the hospital. She was outrageously unprofessional, and I tried to keep my calm and trust her, but it got to a point when I had to let her know I was not comfortable proceeding. While on my way out through the internal office area, I explained to her why I was leaving (because of her hostile behavior), and then her demeanor was suddenly different while in front of her colleagues (softer). When I called another Sharp location shortly after, they told me that Monica Moody didn't enter any of my OBS paperwork (5-page packet), nor visit notes, and put in that I "cancelled" the appointment. How unethical is that? Monica Moody needs to be sent to a training on bedside manner and patient professionalism. There are countless negative 1-star reviews regarding her on health sites. She's awful and most certainly in the wrong area of patient care. read more

The situation that I need to discuss is related to the lack of response I encountered when my husband, who has been a patient for several years with Dr,. Antonio at Sharp/Rees Steely . My husband was displaying very unusual behavior that was of great concern to myself and family. I contacted Dr. Antonio's office, through the portal, hoping to get a referral for a testing center as he was showing signs of dementia. Eventually, after no reply, I contacted the office by phone and was connected to a nurse who evaluated the symptons that I explained and she advised me to call 911. This was not what I considered, at the time, the most appropriate solution as he was not in a critical condition. The nurse agreed to provided the details directly to Dr. Antonio as I explained we had experienced no reponse from him to my previous email. After a few days of once again, not receiving a response , I decided to check his blood pressure. The results were shockingly out of the ordinary. The paramedics concluded that probably my readings were not reliable due to the home testing machine. However, when THEY tested him they couldn't believe the results were so low. My conlcusion was that for around two or three weeks he had been dealing with low blood pressure which deprived his brain of oxygen. He was immediately transported to the hospital and they recommended he have a pacemaker. ASAP. I never received a call from Dr Antonio's office up until they called to confirm an appointment that was made several months earlier. I explained how disappointed I was that no one responded to my text or call especially because we always had trusted and had been very pleased with the care provided by Dr. Antonio. This experience has confirmed that the health care system is grossly unreliable and you need to take responsibility for your own healthcare regardless of the insurance coverage you subscribe to. Thankfully we do have "exceptional" coverage that is "exceptionally" expensive, but you can no longer depend on the health care system !!! read more

I am a 33 year old adult who has had allergies my whole life. However never in my life have I met an allergist as thorough as Dr. Ashika Odhav. She was one a one stop shop for a lifetime of answered questions today. My appointment started promptly on time. She conducted an initial breathing test. Then gave me a breathing treatment and had me redo the test. We saw immediate improved results. She then conducted a skin prick test for futher answers. Followed by blood work. She is having me come back to review the blood work at which time she is going to have me do a food test in office for further answers. I was blown away at how intricate her levels of testing where she took a lot of time to break down each result individually, making sure the treatment plan addressed all issues. She even provided me with a free alternative to the ever expensive epi-pen which my insurance covered 100% The nursing staff, lab staff and front desk staff was also very friendly, efficient and helpful. I was checked in within 3 minutes and seen with in 5 at both the front desk and the lab. The parking lot was easy to navigate and I genuinely appreciated that my appointment started on time. read more

One of my favorite Sharp Rees-Stealy medical center locations at the Pinacle Paza in Scripps Ranch. I still remember the days they were building it some years ago (is still relatively new) and since I used to work just across the street, in my company we got special deals. So I got there one of the specialists I have to regularly visit and even though my company moved location, I still keep going there because this doctor is very good and because the facilities are clean,modern, nice, and the stuff is extremely friendly. When I have to make appointments, even though I could use the online system, I rather call them because they are the friendliest medical assistants you can get. The lab is awesomely fast, staff working there make you feel good and they very friendly maintaining professionalism. I think this medical center is very well run and an example for others. Plus the location is really neat with plenty of parking lot and even nice views. read more

Talk about the Sharp Experience. 01/2019 This review is representative of our experience with a specific RN in a specific department and in no way reflective of all staffs and departments at this location. Scripps Poway location represents the Anti-Sharp experience unlike any other Sharp locations if you are unlucky to have certain RN as your healthcare provider. Doctor's Johnston RN, Kim cancelled our appointments on multiple occasions, told us the wrong date and time, and changed us to a different doctor without our consent. If you get Kim as your nurse, run... to a different Rees Stealy location. On the flip side, every front office staffs were warm, welcoming, and empathetic. Kudos to Melissa, the resource RN in providing empathetic resolution to our challenge. She deserves a Sharp star!!! read more

The Scripps Ranch Sharp Rees Stealy offices are excellent. Easy parking and registration. Most departments work out of this location, except for certain radiology services (Mammography, etc), I believe. Dr. Saben is our primary and he is amazing - very personable and thorough. He was really attentive and calm when I went through a health issue, which I appreciated. The lab group is great - minimally waiting and friendly techs. read more

I was there today for an appointment with a nurse who chewed me out for 10 minutes after I waited an hour because I am supposed to know that they can't do nurse visits on Mondays or Fridays due to all the MD's being in the office. The only time I came in Monday prior was when I was told md was in the office that day but they would accommodate me. They never told me not to make an appointment on Monday anymore or Fridays. I don't really appreciate as a patient being expected to know this or remember it maybe the receptionist and nurse should do their job better next time and inform me of this. Dr. Tina Ziania is just BEYOND PHENOMENAL! No words can truly describe how amazing she is and her expertise is just exceptional. Let me tell you why. I moved from Washington State back to California when I was about 8 months pregnant. For one, I was considered in a high-risk pregnancy state plus I had an ovarian mass complex that was found during my 1st ultrasound in Vancouver, Washington. I had seen 3 different doctors - of which they all can't give me the confidence & trust in my health delivering the baby. One of them advised to do normal delivery, then, come back within 2 weeks to do another surgery for the removal of the mass. The second doctor advised to do a c-section and not just remove the mass but to completely remove my left ovary but warned me of complications and excessive bleeding. The 3rd doctor said there needed to be more testing done to give a better assessment of my situation. So I was left with being stressed out not knowing what to do or what would be the outcome of my delivery. It was a blessing that our escrow finished 2 months before my target delivery date which made us move back to Southern California. Well, this wasn't the end of my troubles. After moving back, I had to find a new OB/GYN and had reached to several providers. One of them literally told me that they can't accept me as a new patient because I was already in a later term -- I didn't know that healthcare providers can turn away patients so easily. I was able to get an appointment with another provider, however, on the day of the appointment, they didn't have any of the patient record files I had already sent them ahead of time so they had no knowledge whatsoever of my situation. I was pretty disappointed with their poor quality of service. My best friend suggested I try Sharp as she's known people who have had good experiences with Sharp Hospital. I called Sharp and I was amazed at how organized and efficient everyone is -- from the person who answered the phone, to the nurse who takes calls if you have some questions or concerns -- note this is a dedicated phone number they provide you that you can call anytime you have some issues or concerns with pregnancy, the people at Sharp Rees-Stealy Scripps ranch are all very friendly and are always willing to help. I instantly felt that I was cared for and had relief from stressing over the delivery of my baby. I was scheduled to meet Dr. Tina Ziainia temporarily as the doctor I had previously chosen was unavailable to meet me earlier than scheduled. However, meeting Dr. Ziainia was such a great blessing because we have just fallen in love with her. I can't seem to explain them in words but we had an instant connection with her. She was super friendly, very confident, and very knowledgeable and was able to address all our questions and concerns. She had reviewed my file and knew what to do. Her expertise was ASTOUNDING! I've met several doctors and I must say that she is unlike any other doctor you'll meet and work with. She truly cares about her patients and her character & personality is just OUTSTANDING. She was leaving Sharp at the end of March 2022 and we met her end of February 2022 and yet she still agreed to take me on as one of her patients. Even though she was leaving, she did an incredibly fantastic job taking care of me and my baby. On the day of the surgery, I was confident that I was in good hands so the stress and worry were very minimal to almost none. She performed c-section surgery along with the removal of my left ovary. The surgery took roughly about 20 minutes and it was a success. On the 3d day after my surgery, I was already walking around and out of the hospital. I'm now close to my 3rd week postpartum and I have healed very well. I'm ready to get back to my normal routine and to work. My incision looks good, can hardly tell a baby was taken out of it. Overall, my experience with Dr. Tina Ziainia was remarkably exceptional. She is truly one BRILLIANT doctor. read more

Then I'm off to my appointment. Dr. Natalie Hoffman and Dr. Audrey Wang are the best! They go out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome, they take their time to explain everything to me making sure I understand the process. I tried contacting Monica Moody for 3 weeks so she could place an order for a second ultrasound for my ovarian cyst since there was the possibility of mass in it. For 3 weeks I called multiple times asking for her to place the order with the clinic I did the first one. She sent it to Sharp instead. No one called or contacted me to let me know or make an appointment. I called again and found out by accident that the order was sent to sharp instead which has terrible availability, so I kept asking to send it to the center I went in the first place and never heard from her. I ended up going to another doctor which ended up giving me some more info on my ultrasound that Monica never mentioned. Now I finally have my US request placed. So if you think you have a disease that is time sensitive, go to Scripps or UCSD. Sharp is a joke. read more

I recommend Dr Douglas Brewster, ear nose throat (ENT) physician, for his professionalism and expertise. He performed a septoplatsy (to cure a deviated septum to open up the passage way for a crooked nostril) on me, which he has been doing for at least once a week for 15 years. He and his staff were very professional, friendly, and responsive, including the pre-operation visit, post operation visit, followup phone call at home post surgery, and a card in the mail. He also has a good sense of humor and bedside manner. The actual building is very new, nice, and modern w/lots of parking. It also has free wi-fi w/o having to input any password. read more

Dr. Natalie Hoffman is an incredibly caring and fantastic doctor who actually looks at your entire record and sees you as a patient with history and concerns. She is fantastic at sending out referrals and getting you to who you need to see for complete care. She takes the time to asses your needs and medications. She is wonderful! I love this x-ray facility - very quick and the people who work there are great!!! Dr. Sabin is wonderful. My tween had to see him and he is fantastic with kids - never talked down to her and gave her the floor to ask questions and talk about concerns. What a fabulous person and doctor he is! read more

Always in an upbeat mood and answers all your questions. But for the permanent OBGYN physician I choose Dr. Krietzer (he's been doing this for 20+ years and he is constantly recommended). If you are a Sharp patient in the inland North County, I don't know why you would not utilize this Rees-Stealy location. All of the doctors and nurses we have seen have been top-notch. Both of my kids are patients of pediatrician Dr. Lisa Gabhart, we are big fans of hers. Location has a good deal of parking and easy check-in, I've never waited more than two minutes to check in.
