If you are expecting a doctor to care how you are feeling and what you are going through physically, find someone else! Although Dr. Khalid is an extremely nice doctor with a genteel manor, he does not care if you are hurting. I've been seeing him over 6 months now and all they want to do, is give injection after injection. If you tell him or his NP the medication he insisted on perscribing (lowest dosage of Suboxone) is not touching the severe/chronic pain in your SI/Hip, he/they don't care. Not only is he hard to understand and talk with, but his NP is just as difficult! They freaked out when I asked for a refill on a low dose muscle relaxer I've taken as needed for years and an anti-inflammatory. I'm not an addict and am sick of being treated like I'm one! Just got done with my surgery and no thanks to this facility. They mistakenly labeled me as a pain pill seeker and were not helping me with my pain for over a year. They ignore facts in your file like MRIs and CT scans that ALL showed my real problem. Thank God I moved away from that and went to another doctor that immediately saw the issue and actually helped me. Surgery done. No pain management anymore. You see, this place lied to me and stated they were trying to help and they were not. By placing a "drug seeking " label in my file they actually held back care from a patient in need. You did take an oath to help, Mr. Khalid, didn't you? I didn't put the Dr. title in front of your name intentionally. He's a neurologist and is about the only doctor that understands my damaged nerve condition. It's chronic pain 24/7 and the doctor is kind and understanding. He knows all the treatments I have tried. My husband stopped seeing the dr 2018 but yesterday 2020 we got a copay bill for for 50.00 .He has not seen the Dr since 2018.I have tried several times leaving messages NO LUCK! I went to the office the girl was VERY rude!!!! Still after 2 days have not heard why they want 50.00 what date they are saying we didn't pay I have never received a bill until the other day. This is NOT RIGHT. Without ANY of my 20+ years of reccords, nor interested in ANY of my medical issues, Dr. Khalid PRESCRIBED A HIGHLY ADDICTIVE MEDICATION to replace the 0-3 pills I was taking as needed. I saw him thinking he was a PAIN MANAGEMENT doctor, not an "addiction counselor" who's only "treatment plan" is to push Suboxone on patients whether they need it or not. BE WARNED!! Suboxone is no joke especially if you are not used to taking a large amount of opiates. It has left me unable to function. I feel like I took the strongest pain pill of my life. I am dizzy, cannot keep my eyes open, and just almost fainted in the shower. I called the office when I began to feel like I was overdosing and my situation wasn't concerning enough for the doctor to return my call to address these scary side effects. EVERYTHING I read said it is VITAL to have close communication with the doctor ESPECIALLY when starting this medication. I had to call again today as he didn't bother to return my previous messages and FINALLY he got on the phone telling me to take half my dosage (not even knowing the amount I was on in the first place).... and I was already told by somebody in his office yesterday to do that when I called, which wasn't updated ANYWHERE. He is clueless. Dr. Khalid had NO advice but for me to not take my anti-anxiety medication (and he was wondering why I am so agitated!) and to keep taking the Suboxone....again, NO OTHER OPTIONS! So now I feel like I am overdosing AND agitated. Oh...and I also just found out this is in the body for at least 3 days! Wow. When concerned about the interactions with the meds prescribed by my psychiatrist, I asked Dr. Khalid to contact him to ensure it is safe, he straight up told me, "you should have your psychiatrist prescribe you pain medication". This is exactly the type of thing that cause people to DIE, not willing to work on a SAFE plan with ALL other treating doctors. Mind you he still never read one past record of mine, nor did he ever request them. I had hoped for a Pain Management DOCTOR to help treat my headaches and painful side effects from a cancer medication I am currently taking, not an uneducated and lazy drug pusher who cares more about $$ than actually TREATING patients. Dr. Khalid is a glorified drug dealer, pushing something SO MUCH stronger than anything I need for my current pain or have ever taken in the past, including both Fentanyl and Morphine!! To make matters worse Suboxone isn't an "as needed" drug, it is REQUIRED to take it THREE times a day, whether I need it for pain or not. Not to mention the side effects to get off of Suboxone are to be worse than getting off heroin. It is no wonder that this is the ONLY treatment option given, it's not about caring for or treating the patient, it is ALL about the money lining his pockets from ALL those he gets addicted to this medicine so they keep coming back. Our call ended after I explained how badly I was reacting to the Suboxone and feeling EXTREMELY agitated not being able to take my other medications, he told me to find another doctor and hung up on me. It's doctors like Dr. Khalid why so many people go to the street for their meds, they are left without any other choice. To be honest it is probably safer to do that, than being overprescribed an insanely strong opioid medication by a "doctor" that is KNOWN to have deadly interactions with current meds. The kicker is when I asked about using CBD or Cannabis instead of the Suboxone, he told me if I tested positive for it he would refuse to treat me. THIS is exactly what is messed up, Dr. Khalid believes that prescribing a MUCH stronger opioid is "safer and more effective" than to use a PLANT that comes DIRECTLY from the ground, not made in a lab. Wow. Oh....probably because the cannabis industry isn't paying him to push it on every single person that walks through his door, unlike Suboxone where he personally benefits every single time he prescribes it, not ever taking into considerstion the ACTUAL needs of the patient. Dr. Khalid is not an ethical doctor whatsoever. He would probably prescribe Suboxone for a paper cut. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the California Medical Board, hoping they investigate the lack of concern and care: from not returning phone calls, overprescribing, being offered only ONE treatment option, failure to take all other medications and medical history into consideration (or even read it!), refusing to work with my other doctors to ensure my safety, and much more. There are not many things worse than an incompetent doctor, especially when feeling like you are going to die of a OD because they didn't bother to do their one and only job, to keep the patient SAFE. read more

Decades in practice. He has heard everything, and seen everything. There is a NATIONAL epidemic of Opiate addiction to both legal and illegal drugs. Fentanyl, Oxycodiene,.. and Heroin addiction is a serious problem in the US. The medical practitioners are under massive pressure to find alternatives to opiates. I have Post Herpetic Neuralgia from Shingles. It's unbelievably painful. Shreaking Electric agonizing shocks. 24/7. Well, all awake hours. UNREAL! No one can fathom the pain without the experience. So, opiates, right? Can't get 'em. Dr Khalid and I have found that a combination of 300mg of Neurontin(Gabapentin) and 20mg of Cymbalta does a decent job of keeping the Stinging Spikes compressed, and keeps the pain at a 5-6,.. instead of 8-10,...+ the off the scale ones! Yea. The side effects of these are some dizziness, and it'll make ya nauseous sometimes. Everyone is different. Don't mix these with alcohol, it'll give you bad dreams, and alter your "mapping". !!!! This office is disgusting and absolutely awful!!! I wish I could give zero stars! Bodily fluids splattered on the wall which looked like it had been there for a while. Lovely! Not! The staff is uneducated (or at least not enough to be in a physicians office), incompetent and WILDLY inappropriate in front of patients. Gossiping and about other patients and their private health information loudly in the front. My first visit was awkward and short which seemed uneasy to me because of the medications prescribed. They make you feel like a drug addict and talk to you like one too. Like I choose to be I pain! Ha! Especially the Physicians Assistant who really talks to you like an junkie on the street. Waited 2-1/2 hours just to see Dr. Khalid for 3 minutes. Everyone had to do their urinalysis right in front of the packed waiting room, too, because that's where the restroom is. How embarrassing! The PA who finally saw me, took one look at me & said Dr. Khalid would not give me any medication. (I just had massive stomach surgery a month ago.) Their office hadn't even received records on me yet & knew NOTHING about me! This doctor's bread-and-butter are his expensive procedures, whether they are right for you or not. If you are unwilling to risk permanent paralysis to get them, they will shove you right out the door. I tried every Pain clinic in the valley, for years and got a tip about this doctor from a medical professional. I had been in a wheelchair for 8 years and in chronic, horrible pain. With one treatment from him I was OUT of the wheelchair within two days after his treatment and I don't know what I would do without this doctor. He is so busy, that the place has been a bit of a mess, but lately things have changed and there is new decor and things are looking up. He also has a new acupuncturist on staff. If you are in chronic pain and can't seem to find an answer, other than pills, pills and more pills, you MUST see Dr. Khalid. You're chronic pain does not need to be! He is understanding and intelligent and knows how to deal with your pain. I have 6 years of experience with him WITHOUT PAIN. He keeps me that way. I have an extensive metal apparatus in my back that was causing me horrible pain. No other doctor has been able to do what Dr. Khalid has done. His receptionist, needs work, but she doesn't keep me out of pain, so I'll keep going and keep out of pain. read more
