Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Got referred here and it was the worst decision that ever happened. I had to repeatedly call them just to get an initial intake. They did not return the phone calls emails and it seems like every time I called it just went to voicemail. Finally after about four weeks I got somebody on the phone and the answer was oh sorry yeah we were gonna send that out, but I think there's something wrong with your email, There wasn't. Finally went to my appointment got seen was told that I needed to fill out a 40 question mental health survey in order to get a secondary appointment. When I left, I said please send the email. I will fill it out and send it back to you Before you close today. Didn't get the email waited today and then called and got the same voicemail. Got somebody on the phone the next day after I repeatedly called them and they said oh they'll get a message to the clinic manager and get it sent over ASAP. That didn't happen. My wife started calling she got somebody on the phone. I think after about the third day and they promised her we would have the email that night. It never came. His doctors office has the worst staff or just the doctor doesn't care. If you're there for pain relief management like it says they string you along and I wasn't even asking for medicine. read more

This place is wildly unprofessional, don't waste your time. I made an appointment for help with chronic pain, and upon arrival I was presented with about 20 pages of detailed medical intake questions that took me over 40 minutes to fill out. I took time away from work and wasn't expecting a basic consultation appointment to be a 3 hour endeavor. I would have preferred to fill out this paperwork from home, in advance -- but instead I was subjected to sitting in a waiting room where a patient was yelling for over an hour, their partner was endlessly trying to force me into a conversation, and the staff just allowed all this to happen. When I was finally seen by someone, they asked me a bunch of questions about my pain and what I've tried, and came to the conclusion of "wow, you've really tried it all". They only had one experimental option as a suggestion, that in doing my own research on I'm very uncomfortable with. A few weeks after my appointment, I received a call stating they had some prescriptions for me to try out, if I wanted to try them they'd call them in to my pharmacy and the pharmacist would explain them to me. They called them in to a mail order pharmacy I've never heard of, and the pharmacist only had usage information but couldn't explain to me anything about the medication, as it was being prescribed entirely off label. I spent hours researching this, and there is no information anywhere linking these medications to my condition. I've spent a week trying to contact Pain Relief Solutions asking for someone (the doctor or a medical assistant) to provide me with some information about why I'm being prescribed this. They not only refuse to call me to speak with me, but when I called back asking for information, I was transferred to a medical assistant who hung up on me immediately. I had to call back 7 times before anyone answered the phone, and I was told "well it's close to lunch time so that's probably why they hung up on you." I'm sorry, what? I was told, for the third time this week, that someone would give me a call to answer my questions, and instead they instructed the pharmacy to contact me. It's extremely weird and sketchy that they prescribe medications but refuse to actually speak to a patient about what they're being prescribed. read more

I have nothing but compliments about Pain Relief Solutions. I go to the Poway and Escondido offices. I see PA Dennis Brodsky and Dr. Casey Fisher and each time I go I am presented with options, more than one. I am given time to discuss any medical problems relating to my condition. Everyone is respectful and I will get a phone call back in a timely matter. I also have had very good front office staff, always always Gabby and recently Kiera. My mother drives all the way from East County to her appointments here in Poway for her continuance of Arthritis progression. She really likes how Dr. Fisher listens to her and does his best to find the right solutions of treatment. This is hands down the best pain management Doctor she has ever had. Well the rest of the negative reviews concerning attempting to contact this clinic are true. Only reason I've been sent here is for pain. It's obvious there is absolutely no compassion for a patient in pain. So I'm gonna pass on your lack of patient service! Called so many times I lost count. You either get voicemail , on hold for a extremely long duration then when you get hold of someone on 2 occasions they say they will call you back. Yea I'm still holding my breath for that call. Horrible!! Do not put up with this place! It took me over three months just to get an appointment. This is due to them not responding to a doctor's referral, not responding to voice mails, or emails left via their website. I arrive 34 minutes early to my appointment - which was a 45 minute drive from my house. The receptionist asks for my paperwork. I told her I do not have any paperwork because none was sent to me. She "verifies" my email, but they have it wrong! Then I'm told that the provider won't see me because I don't have the paperwork. What?!? I told her that it was their error, not mine, and I shouldn't be penalized for THEIR error. Didn't matter. She called someone "in the back" and they said, basically, too bad. The the receptionist says to the people "in the back,' "oh, you have the correct email?" So, they're on different systems and only the person "in the back" has the correct email? I'm not buying it. They don't care. Again she says she'll reschedule my appointment. At that point I knew I didn't want these people in my life, so I said "good-bye" - only not in those words - and left. The saving grace? The clients in the waiting room were rooting for me and shared their stories, which were very similar. Go somewhere else! read more

I'm just another number here, too. #gaslighting at its finest. It's hurtful to go from dedicating your life to a profession of medical education, helping medical students, residents, fellows, etc. become attending physicians and clinicians. I devoted my life to it. Yet, now I am patient, and because there is no way to fix the problem with my back, I'm forced to take medications as a LAST resort. I hate every second of it. This isn't the life that I want to live, and when you're forced to use medication simply just to be able to get upright, or to do something as simple as the dishes, it's humiliating when you call your pain management doctors office, and the staff always tells you that you're wrong, YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, even though I and someone who came with me, BOTH HEARD the entire conversation and follow up/medication management appointment. I'd be happy to get a notarized copy of what she heard discussed in our appointment. However, something tells me, that wouldn't be worth anything to this clinic either. If you call this office, whatever is in the notes, dictated by the doctor/clinician, possibly on a timeline of up to two or three days past the evaluation and conversation (30 patients later), is considered 100% factual. When I talked to Jeanine (sp? Dr. Fisher's MA) or the manager, Lindsay, it is only about what was documented, and it is not actually based on what the patient or the patient's caregiver heard or what was discussed with their MD or PA. It's unethical and unprofessional for my clinician to not recall the conversation we had. It's extremely detrimental to my physical and emotional health and well-being, at this point. It is always only ever going to be about what the doctor or clinician RECALLS discussing at that time. Often doctors and clinicians don't dictate their notes for many days later (I believe 48 hours is the current law), often having forgotten the patient, altogether, since they see so many patients, but care so little about most of them. I want my job back. I want my life back. It is so hard to only want your "old self back," or a single day without discomfort... But instead you get treatment by people who, themselves, treat you as if you're a drug addict. You documented my notes wrong. Can you apologize for being rude and completely off point? I didn't ask you for something your doctor didn't offer me. I didn't even ask your doctor for it. He gave it to me. He offered it. Please get your facts straight through your documentation. There's a feeling of loneliness and hopelessness when the very people who are supposed to be on your team, aren't actually on your team at all. That's what you'll get from this office's staff. The doctors/PA(s) are great, but the staff are not. it appears the documentation of patient appointments is not right either. If I call and tell you that YOU got a prescription wrong, I'm automatically wrong, because it's an opioid, and because your doctor can't even remember who I am, much less what we discussed. It's disgusting. You made a mistake. Just own it and APOLOGIZE FOR GASLIGHTING ME (and others...) Going forward, I will make sure that all of my appointments are documented with audio and video. I will be reaching out to the medical board and the ADA this week to confirm my options for falsifying patient documentation, as well as tracking future documentation for falsifications and errors. This is not a one-sided partnership?? Why be wrong AND rude? I have the right to proper and ethical treatments, or a referral to a clinic that can offer such. Many admin and clinical staff are gaslighters in this clinic, and they are incapable of apologizing for being wrong. It's ALWAYS the patients fault in this clinic. They will treat you like garbage and make you feel like it l, too. Can you imagine being really sick, and suffering from pain, and having your pain management office treat you like garbage? My experience spans over a week time. I began having radiating pain down my leg which was unbearable and I could not walk more than 30 seconds. after dealing with this for a few days, I called around and found Pain Relief Solutions in Poway office that could take me in the same day, which was amazing, I was so very grateful. I go into the Pain Relief Solutions Poway office, see a Medical assistant and Physician Assistant. the PA does not examine me, just asks about my pain and location and could see I was hurting and very uncomfortable. He offered and gave me a Toradol injection for the pain and a steroid prescription for the inflammation. He said we should get an MRI to determine the next course of action, I mentioned I talked to insurance company and they need a prior authorization for MRI and he said they will take care of it. Having not experienced anything like this before, all this sounded pretty reasonable to me. I left with the thought I would hear back from someone fairly soon for an MRI. Unfortunately, the Toradol didn't do much for the pain. I called on Thursday, 2 days after being seen, to follow up on the status of the MRI prior authorization, and I got Nicole on the phone. She tells me she doesn't have an order for the MRI, therefore, has not submitted to insurance for PA. I tell her I am still in a lot of pain, and could we please rush this PA or figure out something else for me. She says she will look into and get back to me. I call on Friday, no answer, leave message. I call on Saturday, no answer. I call on Monday, 5 times, no answer. I leave messages on 3 different voicemails; medical assistant, billing, and new patient coordinator. No call back. Tuesday afternoon (a week after I visited with a 10 pain scale), I get a call from Nicole telling me she still doesn't have PA and waiting on insurance. I proceed to tell Nicole how I have felt about my experience with Pain Relief Solutions, and how I feel they have not shown much interest in me and helping alleviate this unbearable pain I feel. I say I am surprised no one does any follow up calls to check on patients and see how they are doing or call back after messages left with other solutions while we wait for PA. Nicole gets very defensive and argumentative right away. I try to explain to her that I am giving my feedback in case she would like to take that feedback to a team meeting or someone else. That I realize they deal with grumpy people all the time because they are in pain, but to please remember there is a human being on the other end of that name that really needs them! I told her it would have been nice if someone would have called me back, perhaps preemptively called to check on me, and at the very least tried to rush the PA with insurance company. She told me she did her job and couldn't control the insurance company, and even told me I wasn't be fair in my remarks about her or their practice. I explained this is my perception and my experience, and I am expressing my thoughts to maybe help them make changes for the better. I realized and stated that she obviously is uninterested in my feedback and I could tell she would prefer to just get off the phone. She stated she didn't say that, for which I agreed, again, I am giving MY perception. Well, Nicole apparently was having a bad day herself and could not understand I was not personally attacking her, I just wanted someone to say they would do everything they could to help me, but instead, Nicole hung up on me. One business day before Thanksgiving, no help in sight, and Nicole just hung up on me! I have to say, this is a very disappointing experience for me. A week has gone by and I am still in crazy pain, with no solution in sight. If you are going to go into a business that attracts people in pain, and you are supposed to be there to help them alleviate that pain, maybe the staff could at least pretend like they care about the customer and empathize with what they may be going through, and perhaps, try and help them versus hanging up on them?!!! I do hope that Nicole and the other staff members don't ever have to use their services nor feel the way I do! If I have any further experience, good or bad, I will be sure to update my review accordingly. read more

Personally, I think that the Doctor's & staff @ the Poway Ofc., are so nice, happy, caring, compassionate , knowledgeable and professional. I've never been to a Dr.'s Ofc., where everyone is so awesome. Dr. Shaffi Khalid is a great doctor. I've been treated for knee pain, back pain & burrsitis in both shoulders, for more than a year, now. I would highly recommend Dr. Khalid and his team of experts. PS I'm on SSI, so my Ins. is Medicaid, but, they do not treat me any differently than they do someone who has regular Insurance. read more

I've been seeing Rob Paul PA-C for over 4 months and he is one of the best Dr's I've ever had. He's helped me tremendously with my pain after nobody knew what to do with me. If you want excellent care from spectacular people, this is the office to come to. You walk in and are welcomed, the receptionist knows you and starts singing you in as if you were family, she remembers your name! From the reception desk to the yummy exam beds and a hypodermic hovering over your SI joint, this office is heaven on earth. I wish there was a possibility they could have an adjoining office wall removed, and expand their clinic! :D Thank you Lord for the wonderful staff, the cashier at The Wrangler restaurant in Escondido that told me about Dr Khalid, free ice packs and awesome pain killers and meds!!! I for one have had no issues with this clinic or the doctors within. They've always been helpful, They've always explained everything in great detail regardless of the time constraint, I wait no more than maybe 10 minutes. Which I think is phenomenal considering how many people are there and how busy it can be. I would recommend this place for the friendliness and professionalism alone, not to mention their team is extremely caring and works with you hand-in-hand to try to understand and help with your next step. read more

Bad experience. He talked over me, had me totally confused and I left feeling frustrated and not understood. Not looking forward to returning and basically figure he won't listen anyway. Haven't had an experience with a physician that was this bad in forever. ..AND I'm still in pain because he refused to listen to me. It seemed like he walked in the room with a predetermined attitude. Good thing my insurance changes in 60 days and can change clinics. I heard Dr. Patel in Carlsbad is a good doctor. read more
