To put this in plain terms, Dr. Smith runs a very poor ship. I went to his office for orthotics. My date of service was 11 May 2025. This did not get resolved through health insurance until 2 Jun 2026. Over a year. I know what you're thinking...darn Health Ins bureaucracy. Not in this case. I actually had to work with the Health Ins Co. to hold Dr. Smith staff hands through Claim Processing 101. Smith's office (front desk and billing) were difficult to work with. It was impossible to get accurate information. They would never return phone calls. I was constantly told there was some kind of problem but never any details. I organized three three-way calls to try to get to bottom of claim processing issues. I was told by the health Ins supervisor that Smith's office was told many times the codes they were submitting were incorrect but they kept sending the same exact ones. I personally told Dr Smith during telecon and also in writing of these issues to no avail. Ineffective, nonchalant response. Patients beware! read more

I called and the woman who answers the phone literally WHISPERS- I had to call her back with an authorization number - I asked her for the number for another branch because I do not have time to keep repeating myself - Chula Vista office isn't answering so sigh - stuck with this woman- this is for my teenage son on the autism spectrum! read more

Made the appointment with a physician referral almost a month ago. Provided all insurance information etc. drove 45 minutes for the appointment. Arrived early to fill out forms as requested. Then waited for 47 minutes to be called up to the counter and be told that they don't take the insurance we have. The appointment makers need better training. Waited all that time? This place is an absolute nightmare. They do not answer the phone unless it's new patients or Drs. Loami the receptionist is a self righteous animal, she misrepresented an important inquiry and set me back several weeks of my time. I asked if I could bring my recent x-rays INTO a consultation - not schedule surgery WITHOUT x-rays or consultation. That's asinine. The supervisor Evelyn is subhuman scum as well. We discussed the issue, she completely forgot to follow up with me for WEEKS while my foot crumbles - and when I FINALLY got ahold of her to follow up, she pulled the doctor aside but communicated it the way Loami had weeks prior, rather than the actual issue at hand!!!! Idk what sort of unlicensed trash place this is or what rehab they found the workers at but avoid at all costs. read more

Chula vista clinic : Excellent service, they helped me out right away. I was having a foot issue and when I called to make the appointment, they scheduled me right away. Then when I arrived at my appointment, they attended me super fast and appreciated the service. Nurses were super nice and kind. read more

Dr. Smith takes his time to explain everything and answer any questions I might have. I'm always seen close to my appointment time and treatment never seems rushed. I've been to both the Escondido and Poway offices and I've found his staff at both locations to be professional, kind, thoughtful and efficient. read more

I cannot express enough gratitude for the outstanding job Dr. Smith did on performing a surgery to remove a tumor from under my toe. The surgical site never became infected or swollen. He did an excellent job with the stitches. I followed precisely the post surgery directions he gave me and it healed beautifully. Dr. Colin Smith gave me a cortisone shot for my plantar fasciitis after me trying everything else for the past 7 months. His office staff was helpful and attentive, he listened and was knowledgeable and kind, his fee was reasonable. I'm hopeful that I will be free of pain soon (time will tell). I've seen two doctors in this office and both have been great! If it wasn't for the physicians I would not return. I've left many messages without ever getting a return call. Front office phone always goes to voicemail. I called repeatedly 3 times in a row and finally someone picked up. Customer service needs major improvement. My husband is late with his appt and now has been out of medication for sometime due to front office issues. Likely changing offices after current issue is resolved. read more

I came to Seaside looking for a second opinion on a possible broken toe. I had previously gone to my regular podiatrist who seemed very unsure and wishy washy in her diagnosis. I felt she had missed something and made an appt for a second opinion with Dr. Smith. I appreciated that Dr. Smith took the x-rays himself. He took the time to manipulate my foot in the x-rays to get the angle that he needed to feel confident in diagnosis. He found a fracture at the base of my toe that another podiatrist hadn't noticed. Dr. Smith didn't rush me out the door, and he took the time to answer my questions. Sadly, at my previous podiatry office I felt very much like cattle being herded through. I will be seeing Dr. Smith from now on. read more

It is easy to forget to thank some one that changed your life, but please read my story. In 2017 A Kaiser doctor put a joint replacement in my foot after nine months I was in extreme pain. My insurance changed and seen three other foot doctors that claimed all is well, but a friend begged me to go and see one more doctor. I found Dr. Smith that took over a Doctor that retired. First visit he told me what was wrong but I needed to have the foot re-done. He took the joint piece out, (which it came out) when he went to unscrew it, fused the foot together, and one year later I am able and do walk over ten miles a day. Hardly any pain, unless I trip :). I can not say enough, his office staff was wonderful to me today and please if you have foot or ankle pain, I will never see anyone but him...thank you for my life back read more

The doc is good, no complaints, but the front office not. They NEVER answer the phone; it goes to directly voicemail with very annoying music, ALL the time during advertised office open hours. This happens on the phone numbers of all three locations. If the office were closed or the staff constantly so swamped with work they didn't have time to answer the phone this behavior might be understandable (but not acceptable). But they have a leisurely gig, and seem to spend most of their time playing with their personal cell phones and chatting between themselves. They have time to answer the phone, but they don't. The doc should really do something to fix his front office, like get rid of them and hire people who come to work to work. read more

Unfortunately I cannot leave a 0 as a review. In addition to consistently running late and moving appointments, the front office staff is the most unprofessional I have seen in my life. My mother suffers from Alzheimer's and today was the final visit at this poorly run medical practice. One of her conditions is humming and speaking to herself. The receptionists were making fun of her and laughing in between playing on their phone and eating breakfast. The waiting area wasn't full, practically empty so it was very obvious that they were mocking a patient. I'm not sure if there is a HIPPA or patient privacy violation here but if you have a medical office and there is open space, it is not ok to speak about other patients where either others or the patients family can hear you. Shame on all of you and I hope that find out who was working on 10/10 on the am shift. You are fortunate that I was not there and it was my brother. I would not have been able to contain my anger. My mom is 86 years old and is literally losing her mind. You are not children who don't understand what a disease is, you are allegedly medical professionals. shame on your office staff. read more

Dr. Smith helped me out of a bind while I was vacationing with family in San Diego. To my horror, I lost a toenail while playing in the ocean with my children (okay... I was rinsing our buckets). Anyway, it is the first time this has happened to me and I was so worried, about infection, pain, a horrid toenail, etc. Luckily a friend referred Dr. Smith and I headed his way. He was able to work me in, clean the toe, relieve the pain, and when all was said and done I was left with a much less horrid toenail than I had anticipated. Dr. Smith was quick, efficient, and so kind to calm my VERY high nerves. Would recommend to any family and friends in the area!! read more
