ASIS (RB location) has been a total game changer in my case and I can't recommend them enough. I've made more progress working with Dr. "D" Catron and all the professional, dedicated PT Techs (especially Annika, whom I've been working with the most) in the last year than the previous 6yrs of conservative pain management (i.e. incompetent pain docs, epidural steroid injections, pain meds, numerous feeble PT attempts with mediocre PTs at substandard PT clinics, etc.) combined. My care plan is not only 100% tailored to me, but Deanna also personalizes every session based on how I'm feeling both physically/mentally that day, integrating mental/physical well-being in her practice. She takes the time to listen/understand how my condition impacts my life, finds ways for me to integrate my home care routine more easily/efficiently into my lifestyle, explains how each exercise/stretch works, and creates new ones on the spot to help save me time by combining several into one. Deanna truly goes above/beyond by taking the time to help me better understand my condition anatomically, how it affects me physically, and took things a step further by helping me understand my MRI/x-ray impressions ordered by the pain docs but never explained to me in a way I could understand by them. Thanks to her and Annika's profound empathy/compassion, unremitting encouragement/devotion, inexhaustible patience/support, and exceptional teamwork; I have managed to get off opioids completely, drastically cut down on multiple other addictive meds, regain confidence in my self/my ability to get better, and learn what I can do to continue along this path to recovery without having to get surgery. I'm no longer stumbling around in the dark and can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. They have completely transformed my life for the better and I sincerely hope they are getting the recognition/compensation they deserve for their relentless hard-work/efforts. Wonderful place to do physical therapy. They are very kind and caring, and they also still will mask for patients who are masking. I used to work with Aubrey but she is no longer here so now I am working with David, who is equally wonderful. They also hire excellent assistance, many of whom are getting their kinesiology degrees at SDSU and are hoping to be DPTs themselves. I have had an amazing recovery working with Stephanie Palat. I worked with her for bursitis in my hip which was extremely painful, and I couldn't even walk easily. She assessed properly which muscles and areas needed work. The various exercises she assigned to me helped tremendously. She also gave me tips on a few lifestyle changes based on ergonomics and my hip problem. She is patient and knowledgeable, she has attention to detail, and focused on getting me pain free and strong. I started my work at Asis 2 weeks after I had a major fall from my horse which fractured my pelvis and broke 6 ribs. I can't say enough about how great everyone is. My Physical Therapist was Mauricio Rivas. His concern, care and kindness were exemplary. I responded to all the manipulation work and exercises more each week. The physical therapy session itself was pretty good and I like that they have lasers for therapy in addition to other approaches, but I am so over being charged 3 1/2% to use my credit card to pay a business. This is especially true when it comes to physical therapy because by the time you get to PT, you've already spent a lot of money and expecting people to just pay cash or be penalized to use a credit card when your business is, pretty ridiculous. I am not going there anymore because of this silly policy. I hope they decide to take credit card payments in the future without penalizing their customers to pay their fees to run a business. read more

She is caring, knowledgeable and unsurpassed in her ability to address the specific challenges posed by post lumbar fusion surgery. I wasn't going to leave a review. But after the PT who worked on me called and left a message on my voicemail "apologizing for my soreness" after I filled out a review of my experience from their email message, I figured I should leave a review of my experience. I went there from a recommendation from my internist. I have scoliosis and chronic back problems do to sports injuries from when I was younger. Also my hip has been hurting and she sent me there prior to my orthopedic surgeons appointment. That's why I guess I blame myself as well as the professionals in this case. No one should've ever touched my hip or my back without having a definitive diagnosis. There were guesses that this could be tendinitis or bursitis none of which were true. I have a hip impingement and my hip shouldn't have been manipulated or massaged to the extent it was. The PT probably worked on my hip and my back for an hour. I was left not being able to move, bend over or get out of bed for two days after this happened. I was literally in tears in pain. There is no soreness! Thankfully I did not have to go to work because I would not have been able to. I can take a lot of pain so for me to be writhing in pain for 1 solid week after tells me something is seriously wrong with this place. I am still in pain and we're going on two weeks after the appointment. I will never go to PT after this experience. It's a shame that the guy called to leave a message trying to apologize for my soreness?? No. Severe Pain, debilitating pain. Every person I've spoken to who has gotten physical therapy has informed me that they have never been in the amount of pain that I have been in and I should get my money back. read more

I have Been going here for some time now for back, neck and shoulder pain. Elana, my physical therapist is always attentive to what ever is most troubling me at my bi-weekly appointments. Like today she zeroed in on my shoulder pain and worked on the neck also. I am actually amazed how she seem to find just the right area that needs the attention to help with my irritation/pain. Over those years I have worked with Dr. David Chon who has helped me recover from several surgeries as well as injuries I've had (e.g., broken foot). Because of David's background in athletics coupled with his academic training his understanding and course of treatment efficient and effective for recovery. I have recommended David to multiple friends for PT and their experience and results have mirrored mine. Along with David is a team of PT aides who over time assisted me with the required exercise routine, Some of those aids are Ally Dangerfield, Daniel Mah, Jesus Maya and Audrey Matthew. A pretty severe herniated disk in my lower back had me mostly immobile for a while. I talked to a surgeon but I decided to try PT first. I am so glad I made that decision and that I asked my doctor to change my referral to ASIS. I go to the Rancho Bernardo clinic and Jason M. Is my PT doc. I can't say enough good things about the clinic, the treatment, the Physical Therapists and the PT aides. The employees go out of their way to get to know you. Everyone there seems really caring and not rushed, the scheduling is easy, COVID precautions are in place and I always felt safe and cared for. They have a lot of modalities and you are never left on your own to fend for yourself. Not only am I mobile but I am completely pain free! I am hopeful that I can continue to get stronger and stay pain free. Jason is a wonderful Physical Therapist who gave me extremely helpful exercises and advice. I had a total knee replacement in July. after 2 weeks of in home PT I started coming to ASIS. based on a friend's recommendation, I started seeing Dr. Aubree. She has been great, both in assessing and working with my knee/leg. I had been to several other PT therapists over the past 10 years because of my knee ( before replacement) and Aubree has been the best, by far. The support staff have also been wonderful! Although I will miss them, I am happy to report I graduated today. If I should need PT for anything in the future, ASIS and Aubree will be my go to. read more

I went to Asis for hip replacement pre-hab to build up muscles that had atrophied in hopes of making surgical recovery shorter and easier. It was a major factor in my not needing a walker or cane beginning day one after surgery and for an early return to normal activities. I came back to Asis for post-op therapy to build strength and increase range of motion. Have to give major credit to my DPT Haley who put together and adjusted my regimen both before and after surgery and to the PT assistants she directed, Reese and Allie. I can't say enough good things about ASIS. The first time I went to PT was with another company. I left there hurting every time. I was sick of not getting better so I asked around and was told to go to ASIS (previously ISIS). Let me tell you... they gave me exercises that were appropriate meaning not too difficult for where my body was at in my recovery. ASIS taught me how to know what muscles they want you to be working. If you have other muscles that are stronger and taking over, they find a different exercise for that muscle to ensure you are working properly. Everyone at ASIS is skilled, each have a bit of their own specialty so make sure when you make an appointment you explain what your looking for. I personally like someone who's not gentle. I found that with my former PT Melissa and now with Haley. You really can't go wrong with any of the staff, they're all professional and extremely knowledgeable. BEST PT BUSINESS IN ALL OF SAN DIEGO! I recently "graduated" from Asis Physical Therapy and as the old saying goes, "Parting is such sweet sorrow." Though that line was hardly written with physical therapy in mind, and I hope that my physical condition does not necessitate my returning to Asis for any other than a social visit, I must say that this is the best situation I can imagine for getting things back in order. I had a leg muscle issue, no big deal in the scheme of things but enough to keep me miserable for a few years before I started p/t. I should have done it sooner, I really should have. Dr. David Chon was my therapist. He is competent and able to convey what he is doing and why. Sometimes the exercises were uncomfortable but David was conscious of my pain threshold and never went beyond it. He is kind and a good conversationalist as well, a skill needed when one is undergoing this therapy. I had 30 minutes of work with David and then his assistant, usually Andrew Punsalan, took over. Andrew's task was to review the exercises with me and ascertain that I was doing them correctly. He did this with skill, good humor and always with endless patience. Dr. Melissa Parsons and her assistant, Al Rambo, took over a few sessions for David while he was away. Again, on the part of both of them a can-do attitude, endless patience and pure dedication. There was no break in the rhythm David had established with me and the transition back was seamless. On the few occasions when others helped me out I found them also knowledgeable and eager to help. Everyone in this place is pleasant and so nice to work with. Before starting out, though, one must go through the front desk, phoning for appointments, asking insurance questions and getting a feeling for how the place is run. This could so easily turn into a bureaucracy in another office but not here! Cassie Bostwick and Tricia Boyd are the perfect people to give that all important first impression. They know the answers to the questions or will quickly find them out. Always polite and well-spoken, especially important when one is not feeling that great. This is fairly long but all true. ASIS is, in my opinion, the best of the best. Their staff, in no matter what capacity is pleasant to deal with, aims to accomplish what the client wants to achieve and does this all with warmth and a good sense of humor. I have had many experiences with PT over the span of my lifetime and I can say unequivocally that Asis is the best. Leo King is incredibly knowledgeable and has taught me so much about my body and how to heal. His treatment program - whether it is for my knee or my back or my neck has been spot on to help me get back to my life. All are skilled at helping me do the exercises correctly and explaining why - especially Daniel whose personal attention has made me feel that he has a real investment in my healing. I chose ASIS to fix my lower back/hip pain because of its location in Pacific Beach. I didn't think they could do much; I thought it was just aging aches & pains. Wow, was I wrong! Went there for my knee a while back. Hour-long sessions. The first 30 minutes was fine and what I envision "physical therapy" to be. Massage and assorted techniques to promote healing. PT consultants were fairly friendly and competent. The second half of the session is where they lose it in my book. They demonstrate various strength-building exercises (which is fine), then cut you loose to work out on your own. Subsequent sessions see you pretty much exercising on your own the entire second half of your sessions. I'm sorry, but I can do the exercises on my own at home (which I did). I don't need an insurance-paid PT facility to sit there and watch me work out. If y'all only have 30 minutes of work to do on me, then schedule me for 30 minutes, do your stuff, then I'll go home and do the exercises. Don't pad my insurance bill (and co-pay) out for another 30 minutes. That's a "fail" where I come from. read more

Long overdue, but my PT was Sam in PB. I also had the pleasure of working with PT Aides Tori and Ali and a couple of times with Christian. Sam first off was excellent, she truly cared about my progress and did as much as she could with different treatments, exercises, and activities. She was professional, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. She helped me in not only understanding what she was doing but also the theory and actual workings of why she was doing what she was doing. The aides were also excellent as well with making sure I could do the exercises and helping me to make sure I got the most out of my treatments.
