My care plan is not only 100% tailored to me, but Deanna also personalizes every session based on how I'm feeling both physically/mentally that day, integrating mental/physical well-being in her practice. She takes the time to listen/understand how my condition impacts my life, finds ways for me to integrate my home care routine more easily/efficiently into my lifestyle, explains how each exercise/stretch works, and creates new ones on the spot to help save me time by combining several into one. Deanna truly goes above/beyond by taking the time to help me better understand my condition anatomically, how it affects me physically, and took things a step further by helping me understand my MRI/x-ray impressions ordered by the pain docs but never explained to me in a way I could understand by them. Thanks to her and Annika's profound empathy/compassion, unremitting encouragement/devotion, inexhaustible patience/support, and exceptional teamwork; I have managed to get off opioids completely, drastically cut down on multiple other addictive meds, regain confidence in my self/my ability to get better, and learn what I can do to continue along this path to recovery without having to get surgery. I'm no longer stumbling around in the dark and can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. They have completely transformed my life for the better and I sincerely hope they are getting the recognition/compensation they deserve for their relentless hard-work/efforts. A few months ago, I was in a really terrible place. My back pain had become so severe that I…read morecouldn't even function. My initial MRI results were devastating--herniated discs, severe nerve compression, and even a piece of the disc had broken off. The pain was unbearable, radiating from my lower back through my hip and all the way down to the top of my foot. My leg was so numb that it felt cold, and I couldn't even shave it because I had no sensation at all. The worst part was how much this pain took away from my life. I had just retired from the Navy, and instead of enjoying time with my family, I found myself relying on them to take care of my basic needs. They could only tell me that my back or ankles were not aligned, but they couldn't tell me what was causing my pain or how to relieve it. Then I found Jera, and in the first consultation she identified the source of my problems and helped me! After the first appointment, I was amazed, and by the second appointment I was almost totally pain-free. Jera has a very positive, practical approach to healing and explains things in a way that makes sense. She provided me very simple exercises to help maintain my improvements, and I also found that I can use the exercises when my knee gets tweaked and I'm "restored" like magic! I went in to address a gradual decline that over the years started to affect my ability to exercise and finally even walk. I left able to walk, jump, run, and dance! What's more, the improvements have sustained...it's been 1.5 years since my last appointment and I haven't had any issues. However, I'd go back to Alternative Physical Therapy in a heartbeat if I have any problems in the future. I'd recommend Jera to anyone who is suffering or just wants to optimize their performance!
