Sabrina and Marissa are especially amazing! But all of the therapists there truly care and do their best to support you and your children. OT is a world I didn't know much about, but I felt very supported and got a lot of information and help. It looked like a gym but didn't smell like a gym.  The cool music was great to listen to as you do your exercises and therapy.  12 sessions later, my constant, excruciating pain (frozen shoulder) is gone!  Leah King was my main physical therapist.  She was knowledgeable, professional, dedicated and patient.  I felt she chose the correct exercises for me to work on my range of motion.  The place's atmosphere was welcoming and everyone knew your name.  Claudia, the receptionist was friendly as she welcomes you and schedules your sessions.  Laura, a student physical therapist assistant was very helpful with the exercises and had a lively personality and always had a smile on her face.  Madeleine, Elliott and Matthew Gray were also involved in my improvement and progress.  Everyone at Spine and Sport worked together to help improve a person's well-being.  I am very happy that my primary care provider referred me to Spine and Sport. We haven't gone to an IEP meeting yet so I will update once we do, but I do feel that he is an assesor with integrity which is important. Too many therapists have improper training by districts and deny children a proper assesment. Mr. Wilson's facility is very comprehensive, clean and orderly...he has a big train set in the entrance which instantly calmed my child who loves trains. His front desk staff is kind, respectful and attentive. So far I have a high opinion of this center and this assesor and will bring my other children who need OT services here. I should also add that I've been to many OT centers and some are run in a very "mill"/"factory" way where the kids are pushed through. I did not get that feel here.

Not knowing if it's going to be a good fit, or a parent feeling comfortable doing that. If grocery stores, restaurants and other businesses can have customers walking in and out, I don't see why it's an issue for a child's parent to sit in during a session. i'm sure exposure is already limited by not having normal amount of appointments. if i have to explain, plea or escalate my concerns to be allowed to stay with my child to ensure their safety, then it's probably not a good fit for us.

My son has ADHD and struggles significantly with handwriting and motor planning. Danielle has systematically taught him cursive writing and uses many innovative multi-sensory techniques in her therapy. My son does not realize he is receiving therapy because Danielle makes every session a lot of fun for him. He enjoys the interactive games and motor activities that she implements before and after handwriting practice. I have worked as a school psychologist for 20 years and I only would send my son to Danielle for therapy. She understands the supports and training children need from a developmental perspective.

The last doctor's report has several errors on it. My guess and only guess is that to please the work comp insurance. I have switched my work comp primary doctor outside of UCSD. I am guessings/hoping the errors in his work comp report will make the doctor less crediblee. I talked to a work comp attorney for free on the phone and he clearly stated, "you don't want UCSD treating you for work comp." I agree run away from this place for a work comp injury.

Her opinion differed from 5 other doctors so they can't all be wrong. She doesn't know what she's doing so beware before workers comp insurance sends you to her.

Mark is a focused, but empathetic, force in helping folks address what ails them. I'd thought I'd come to the end of my PT experiences with my Knee Replacement and, most recently, a Shoulder Replacement, but then got referred to work on my spine. Mark is an encouraging person who explains both the big picture, and the specifics of the attack plan to get better. He is also creatively flexible, responding to feedback from patients to craft a more effective workout. Mark flipped my disappointment with having to go back to PT, into a renewed motivation to address my spine, and to incorporate the weak knee and shoulder into continued strength-building and range of motion improvement. Mark's treatment team (the folks who set up the exercises, help patients do the exercises, and help patients maintain success momentum) are Jett, Miguel and Matt. These are the guys who help me get my form right, transition between exercises, and generally help with whatever a patient needs to excel. They are upbeat and full of energy, as well as perceptive enough to help patients fine-tune details of their performance. They help put each individual's plan into action; they are where the rubber meets the road. Last, but definitely not the least, is the Huge Smile patients see when they come in the front door: Mareya. She checks everyone in, and gets everyone organized for their sessions. Went to 2 Pt centers and was at each one for 6 days and progress started declining. Spoke with my physical dr Anthony (great physical doctor) and he recommended this Pt. Kristen, Mackenzie, Doreen, Gloria and the 3 other ladies who have helped (which I don't remember their names) as well as everyone in the building is amazing. Kristen has been amazing for my hand. Mackenzie has been amazing for my leg. Both have made huge progress and did within the first 10 days. Highly recommend, amazing environment with great people, took on projects that other pt places couldn't achieve progress on.

They always answered the phone right away and he was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He then referred me to the physical therapy office next door and that's where the issues began. Since the first time I called, nobody ever picks up, I called 20+ times in a span of 2 weeks and each time the automated phone system made me listen to a 5 minute message about the history of San Diego Sports Medicine and the different location's phone numbers and then would proceed to hang up on me. The few times it did let me leave a message, nobody ever got back to me. It seems like nobody works at the front desk for some reason. When they finally got back to me, they made an appointment for me with the specific PT that Dr.Koretoff had requested. I was 3 weeks out from the earliest appointment which was not ideal but I had no choice but to wait. When I finally received the appointment reminder the week before the appointment, it said that the appointment will be with someone else, and not the person I had made the appointment with. The person at the front desk even confirmed that it will be with the PT I requested but that's not what they inputted in the system. As a result, I now have to wait another week to start PT. They offered no way to reconcile the situation even though it was their fault, and basically the conclusion was "tough luck, you have to pay for our mistake." In a separate conversation with the front desk again, they were explaining to me the difference between paying out of pocket vs going through insurance. They gave me the out of pocket rate but said that they can't confirm what the cost will be with insurance until I come in so I explained my deductible and the terms on my coverage to get her advice, the answer I got verbatim was "I've explained to you over and over again and it doesn't seem like you're understand so I think I'm wasting my time here." WTF? She only explained to me once, and basically indirectly called me dumb and told me I'm wasting her time? That's no way to talk to any patient especially if I'm being respectful. This is absolutely unacceptable. I don't care if you're having a bad day, you shouldn't be talking to people like that period, let alone if your job is customer service. This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any front desk/customer service. It's like they hate their jobs. Do you guys no vet people before hiring them?
