We haven't gone to an IEP meeting yet so I will update once we do, but I do feel that he is an assesor with integrity which is important. Too many therapists have improper training by districts and deny children a proper assesment. Mr. Wilson's facility is very comprehensive, clean and orderly...he has a big train set in the entrance which instantly calmed my child who loves trains. His front desk staff is kind, respectful and attentive. So far I have a high opinion of this center and this assesor and will bring my other children who need OT services here. I should also add that I've been to many OT centers and some are run in a very "mill"/"factory" way where the kids are pushed through. I did not get that feel here.

Not knowing if it's going to be a good fit, or a parent feeling comfortable doing that. If grocery stores, restaurants and other businesses can have customers walking in and out, I don't see why it's an issue for a child's parent to sit in during a session. i'm sure exposure is already limited by not having normal amount of appointments. if i have to explain, plea or escalate my concerns to be allowed to stay with my child to ensure their safety, then it's probably not a good fit for us.

They administer therapy with a neurodiversity affirming approach, affirming each child's value and individuality. Even when teaching social skills, they discourage masking, something I've rarely seen at other therapy offices. The office staff has also been really helpful, working with us to schedule appointments so all of my kids can be seen at the same time, minimizing our trips to the office and maximizing my time. Everyone has been so helpful and caring, truly working to individualize therapy and help each child's be their best self. We find them through an approved list from our insurance carrier, Kaiser. The office is clean, & check in process was some of the smoothest I have ever experienced. No shoes are allowed once you cross out of the waiting room. The front desk ladies are friendly & really got to know my son in such a short amount of time. They always knew he wanted to show them whatever toy he brought for the day & there was always a sticker he enjoyed getting they'd let him pick out. Payments were automatic and I never had any issues there. Within one session with both ladies, we were able to get him using words we knew he had in there-they just helped him bring them to life. My son & I were both bummed when we ended services due to him starting preschool & getting the services while there. Emily really grew on him. He would absolutely light up seeing both ladies. My son, his attitude, behavior, and speech all elevated by coming to Milestone. The absolute patience the staff has is incredible. My son had a couple sessions of occupational therapy and we absolutely loved our therapist as well. This review is for the scheduling and billing department and not the physical therapists…read more Poorly trained personnel on insurance claim and following up on patients when there is a doctor referral. I waited about 3 weeks for the clinic to contact me after our pediatrician put in a referral to see PT for my childs torticolis. When I did not hear back I called the office, the first lady said she could not find any referrals then I spoke to a second person that said the paper work sent over was incorrect. I told her since this is a time sensitive issue to go ahead and put me in as a private pay so at least we can start the evaluation and make future appts if needed. Made an appt for an evaluation, only to be called by another personnel to cancel the appt because they are not able to figure out if they are contracted with my insurance. I told them I would still want to come in for the evaluation since its already been over a month and I would pay as private pay until insurance is sorted out. I ended up seeing Miss Paige and Miss Hannah. Both are great PTs and did help improving omy childs torticolis. I ended up using 6 or 7 appointments, 3 months had passed and each time they wanted to cancel my appt because they couldnt figure out insurance coverage. Long story short I finally had to email all the claims and what my insurance had cover and my copays that I had paid for them to finally realize what was happening. Insurance companies suck I get it. I deal with them on a daily basis at my job. But not having trained personnel to deal with the insurance complexities is not acceptable in the health care industry.

I went to Kaiser and they made sure it wasn't a stroke or anything really serious. The Dr. said I had Vertigo (something about crystals in the ear out of place) and said she could send me to P.T. there but that they were not very good treating it at Kaiser. I already knew that because my mother and another family member had been treated there for the same thing. both got a sheet of paper showing exercises they could do at home and not much more. Anyway she recalled a presentation she attended previously by DR Will Bernaldo with Empower Rehab and suggested I might give him a call. I did and had an appointment the next day. This was outside of Kaiser so not covered by insurance for me, and I won't quote his prices but it wasn't as much as I expected. The time he spent doing the diagnosis and some therapy was probably 90 min or more, I walked out way better than I walked in, aggressively followed his at home therapy instruction and two days later 100% cured. She really got along well with our daughter (who isn't the easiest to open up) and we saw a noticeable improvement in her speech quality.
