I appreciate the frequent open communication with my son's therapist as it helps all of us work towards our goals.

Went to 2 Pt centers and was at each one for 6 days and progress started declining. Spoke with my physical dr Anthony (great physical doctor) and he recommended this Pt. Kristen, Mackenzie, Doreen, Gloria and the 3 other ladies who have helped (which I don't remember their names) as well as everyone in the building is amazing. Kristen has been amazing for my hand. Mackenzie has been amazing for my leg. Both have made huge progress and did within the first 10 days. Highly recommend, amazing environment with great people, took on projects that other pt places couldn't achieve progress on.

They always answered the phone right away and he was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He then referred me to the physical therapy office next door and that's where the issues began. Since the first time I called, nobody ever picks up, I called 20+ times in a span of 2 weeks and each time the automated phone system made me listen to a 5 minute message about the history of San Diego Sports Medicine and the different location's phone numbers and then would proceed to hang up on me. The few times it did let me leave a message, nobody ever got back to me. It seems like nobody works at the front desk for some reason. When they finally got back to me, they made an appointment for me with the specific PT that Dr.Koretoff had requested. I was 3 weeks out from the earliest appointment which was not ideal but I had no choice but to wait. When I finally received the appointment reminder the week before the appointment, it said that the appointment will be with someone else, and not the person I had made the appointment with. The person at the front desk even confirmed that it will be with the PT I requested but that's not what they inputted in the system. As a result, I now have to wait another week to start PT. They offered no way to reconcile the situation even though it was their fault, and basically the conclusion was "tough luck, you have to pay for our mistake." In a separate conversation with the front desk again, they were explaining to me the difference between paying out of pocket vs going through insurance. They gave me the out of pocket rate but said that they can't confirm what the cost will be with insurance until I come in so I explained my deductible and the terms on my coverage to get her advice, the answer I got verbatim was "I've explained to you over and over again and it doesn't seem like you're understand so I think I'm wasting my time here." WTF? She only explained to me once, and basically indirectly called me dumb and told me I'm wasting her time? That's no way to talk to any patient especially if I'm being respectful. This is absolutely unacceptable. I don't care if you're having a bad day, you shouldn't be talking to people like that period, let alone if your job is customer service. This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any front desk/customer service. It's like they hate their jobs. Do you guys no vet people before hiring them?

My injury was not minor, a complete rupture of my ATF. I had to rebuild everything. I went in with calf atrophy, and swelling after nearly 6 months. I had lost hope and was debating surgery. After a long convo with my new podiatrist, he suggested aggressive PT would do no further damage and if failed, I could revisit surgery. My first visit with Activo was great, and after a few sessions with some minor improvements, there was finally some hope. Michelle and her team are great. They actually care about your progress, and push you without making you uncomfortable. They don't only address the affected issues they look at surrounding support. I did exercises which included my calves, quads, hams, and thighs. After 6 months with her team I had about 80% recovery when I ended my sessions. I still have some building, but that is longer term stamina. I left Activo with the confidence and tools I needed to get back on my feet (pun intended). I still use their exercises from time to time when I need a little help. I cannot thank this group enough. If anyone wants to avoid surgery or is recovering from one, please consider Activo. You will not be disappointed.

We discussed various exercises and treatments for me; none of them included Electrical Stimulation treatment. However, the billing person identified as Mike Smith (who I was told was her husband), billed for more than 10 sessions of Electrical Stimulation treatment. Checks were mailed to their office and deposited into their bank account. He stated the Electrical Stimulation treatment plan was a separate, second one. This is insurance fraud.

Mark is a focused, but empathetic, force in helping folks address what ails them. I'd thought I'd come to the end of my PT experiences with my Knee Replacement and, most recently, a Shoulder Replacement, but then got referred to work on my spine. Mark is an encouraging person who explains both the big picture, and the specifics of the attack plan to get better. He is also creatively flexible, responding to feedback from patients to craft a more effective workout. Mark flipped my disappointment with having to go back to PT, into a renewed motivation to address my spine, and to incorporate the weak knee and shoulder into continued strength-building and range of motion improvement. Mark's treatment team (the folks who set up the exercises, help patients do the exercises, and help patients maintain success momentum) are Jett, Miguel and Matt. These are the guys who help me get my form right, transition between exercises, and generally help with whatever a patient needs to excel. They are upbeat and full of energy, as well as perceptive enough to help patients fine-tune details of their performance. They help put each individual's plan into action; they are where the rubber meets the road. Last, but definitely not the least, is the Huge Smile patients see when they come in the front door: Mareya. She checks everyone in, and gets everyone organized for their sessions. Rachel left us all behind and took off for school in Michigan; good luck! I recommend PRN PT without reservation. They are professional and always have their patients' improvement in mind, while balancing any other physical issues patients might have. They are not only great at what they do. They are great people, too!
