The staff has changed many times in that duration but the quality of care has not. The front desk person always greets you when you arrive and verifies that you have completed the necessary online check-in process. The wait times always vary but I've never waited an exorbitant amount of time for my appointment. The technicians have dealt with have always been polite and professional and most are quite friendly. I prefer to get imaging here because all doctors and clinics are able to pull scans and reports even old ones from one place. I do not need to get access or copies for follow ups or new doctors.

The next session (the next day) I had to fax the insurance authorization. I did that too (the next day). The third time I was told the doctor who ordered the test was not in Scripps' system (?). The scheduler had to call her supervisor. After ten minutes, the call dropped. So far, I have invested 40 minutes. I think the schedulers work from home. It would be much better for your customers if the schedulers knew all the gating issues in the first call rather than have to solve the problem over the course of four calls. You are a well-respected medical institution, scheduling should not be that difficult.

I recently had a prostate biopsy at KOP Urology after elevated PSA levels. My prostate MRI was…read morenegative, but NP Neriamiah Castano recommended moving forward with a urine biomarker test, which showed about a 25% risk of prostate cancer. Based on that result, I was scheduled for a biopsy with Dr. Almirali Salmasi, with Thomas (LPN) assisting. To be honest, I was pretty nervous going in. I've heard plenty of nightmare stories from friends about prostate biopsies. However, Thomas did an excellent job explaining everything beforehand and helping put me at ease. Dr. Salmasi also walked me through the procedure again and reassured me that it would be straightforward. The procedure itself was much easier than I expected. Sure, at moments it felt like I was in prison with Shaquille O'Neal as my roommate, but overall it really wasn't a big deal. Both Thomas and Dr. Salmasi picked up on my sense of humor and gave it right back, which helped a lot in keeping things relaxed. Having spent over 30 years in healthcare myself--as a medic, flight RN, ICU RN, and now working in Rapid Response--I really appreciate great bedside manner when I see it. Thomas in particular has an outstanding bedside demeanor, and I even picked up a few pointers watching how he interacted with patients. I truly appreciate the knowledge, professionalism, and humor both of these gentlemen brought to the experience. After going back and forth about billing, I called my insurance company while at the desk and confirmed that I have double coverage. Even after hearing this, Daisy said she didn't know what else to do and then walked away without explaining next steps. Another staff member stepped in but said she didn't normally run that area and didn't know how to help either. I ended up waiting in the lobby for about 30 minutes without any updates. When I asked again if there was anything that could be done, the response I received was dismissive. The lack of communication and assistance made the experience very frustrating.
