When I came down on my right foot I heard a loud "pop" and felt a tremendous pain in my butt. Turns out I avulsed all three hamstring attachments from my pelvis!! **The Best Chiropractors for the Whole Family!**…read more I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Trevor and Dr. Teresa Crossley! I primarily see Dr. Trevor, but Dr. Teresa has also taken amazing care of my children, and we are so grateful to have found them. Dr. Teresa is absolutely incredible with babies. I brought my last two babies to her within a week of being born, and she was so calm, gentle, and nurturing with them. She takes her time, listens, and has such a natural ability to understand what each baby needs. I felt completely comfortable having her care for my newborns. I see Dr. Trevor for regular maintenance, and he is equally amazing. His appointments are never a quick, in-and-out experience. He takes the time to make sure your body is properly warmed up and ready for an adjustment, and he really cares about making sure you are taken care of. My 9- and 7-year-old children see him monthly as well, both for maintenance and for injuries from competitive gymnastics. He is fantastic with kids! He is gentle, funny, and makes them feel comfortable. They genuinely LOVE going to see him. When they have an injury, he takes the time to assess it and explain what likely happened, what is going on in their bodies, how to help it heal, and what they can do to prevent it from happening again. Maybe she's a good assistant to the doctor himself, but brace yourself if you're a patient. You'll have to do a lot of homework on your own. My experience was: no call backs, even if promised; I understand when I couldn't reach her due to busy schedule, but zero call backs resulting in several re-schedules of the promised date for the op room that lead to a several months delay... Then my claim was denied (about a certain insurance coverage) because of the officer's lack of knowledge. I needed to ask my insurance to call the office and fix this mistake. She agreed that it was their mistake - I'm thankfull for that and we all make mistakes, but I had to go through some rough times and I got charged for an extra appointment because of that, so the advice is to always educate yourself and advocate for yourself no matter what even if you get denied‍. And lastly, I had a specific date for a post op check up scheduled. During that appointment the tubes sticking out of my body were supposed to be removed and I couldn't wait for it. It was torture. The appointment got rescheduled. I caledl and stressed that the doctor told me the check up had to be sooner than later - no reaction. In a weeks time - I call again to confirm - and Dr is out of the office. Why would a patient be scheduled on the day when the Dr is ooo...and it was vacation not emergency. Anyway, I beg for someone to remove my tubes and she said that she could do it any day by herself. I was so upset-mad lol To summarize: maybe I dont know how hard it is to be a surgeon's assistant and I'm being unfair. And all in all, my coverage was approved and the surgery went great. It just was not the best admin experience for me - it took a lot for a non native person to dig in the intricacies of insurance processes and advocating for myself while completely new to the process. Dr. Nick Barin has been helping me rehab my shoulder after a few PTs struggled to help me following…read moresurgery for a posterior dislocation. When I first came to him, I couldn't externally rotate my shoulder and struggled to get my arm overhead without insane scapular winging. I can now do both, and my winging is pretty much under control. That says a lot, especially considering I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. My surgeon has been impressed with Nick's ability to correct my STAM. Dr. Nick has identified my muscle weaknesses, prescribed the right targeted exercises, and has me log them to stay accountable. There have been strong suggestions that I consider another surgery, but Nick has also been able to keep my pain under control with effective, targeted bodywork, including cupping and massage. I've gone to PT at both UCSD and Kaiser without any success, and I'm so thankful Nick has helped me hold off on another surgery. He listens intently and navigates each session in a way that leaves you walking out feeling like you're ready to do all the things your body has been holding you back from. I'm beyond thankful to Dr. Nick and SDSPT. They genuinely want you to get better, I promise you that. I've been to both locations, and they are top-notch. I've been to Dr. Previte 3 different times. Once for my daughter's foot injury, and then again for…read moremy daughter and I, both with knee injuries. Every diagnosis was spot on and we've healed as he said we would. As for my injury, he was clear in explaining what it was from and how to avoid it in the future. (I had extreme fluid build up in my knee due to an injury, making it stiff and in a high amount of pain. This lasted a long time so I sought his help.). I have adjusted my exercise routine to what he recommended and have not had any issues since. Dr. Previte is kind, extremely thorough in explaining every detail and answering all of your questions. When visiting with him, he always makes you feel you can spend as much time as you need. His staff is very good as well, making me feel welcome and comfortable to see them and fitting me right in. I would highly recommend this office and Dr. Previte. As a matter of fact, I am calling him first thing in the morning to see if he can see my other daughter right away. She broke her humerus in soccer this weekend and we went to Scripps urgent care who was very good and thought she would need surgery, so they sent us to Children's Emergency Dept with the opinion that they would get the on call pediatric orthopedist to do surgery right then. Children's did the same routine of a new patient, having to take their own X-rays, and the ED doctor called the ped ortho on the phone who said no surgery and sent us home. So I got two different opinions from two respected organizations on the same day. My mind will finally be settled when I get Dr. Previte's opinion and I know from experience to trust the one I get from him.
