When I came down on my right foot I heard a loud "pop" and felt a tremendous pain in my butt. Turns out I avulsed all three hamstring attachments from my pelvis!! Thankfully I am friends with the former Chargers sports medicine chiropractor so he was my first phone call. He told me, quotation Dr.Tal David is the Best orthopedist!" So I went to Scripps urgent care to have it x-rayed to make sure no bone had dislodged with the attachments. The ER doctor said to me, "I hope you have a good orthopedist, do you?" I told him I had been referred to one but if he knew of one I wanted that referral to. He replied "Dr Tal David is the best in all of San Diego" I can happily report that I am running faster and farther and I'm stronger in every way post surgery. I'm hiking, paddle boarding and doing everything I did before and more. I have also had terrific functional physical therapy and Dr. David recommended a specific one in Encinitas, G3. I wouldn't trust my physical function to any other orthopedist. He is the best of the best.

He is just such a sweet guy too. Very humble and cordial. He is upfront, tells you what to expect upfront and actually see you himself for aftercare and check ups. His team is also fantastic. Caring and they keep everyone up to date on whats happening when your person gets out of surgery, what to expect and what to do. Just all around you feel that everyone is in the best hands. Hands down, I would recommend him every time and I actually do every time someone asks me about a surgeon here, as I also work in the Medical field.

They always answered the phone right away and he was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He then referred me to the physical therapy office next door and that's where the issues began. Since the first time I called, nobody ever picks up, I called 20+ times in a span of 2 weeks and each time the automated phone system made me listen to a 5 minute message about the history of San Diego Sports Medicine and the different location's phone numbers and then would proceed to hang up on me. The few times it did let me leave a message, nobody ever got back to me. It seems like nobody works at the front desk for some reason. When they finally got back to me, they made an appointment for me with the specific PT that Dr.Koretoff had requested. I was 3 weeks out from the earliest appointment which was not ideal but I had no choice but to wait. When I finally received the appointment reminder the week before the appointment, it said that the appointment will be with someone else, and not the person I had made the appointment with. The person at the front desk even confirmed that it will be with the PT I requested but that's not what they inputted in the system. As a result, I now have to wait another week to start PT. They offered no way to reconcile the situation even though it was their fault, and basically the conclusion was "tough luck, you have to pay for our mistake." In a separate conversation with the front desk again, they were explaining to me the difference between paying out of pocket vs going through insurance. They gave me the out of pocket rate but said that they can't confirm what the cost will be with insurance until I come in so I explained my deductible and the terms on my coverage to get her advice, the answer I got verbatim was "I've explained to you over and over again and it doesn't seem like you're understand so I think I'm wasting my time here." WTF? She only explained to me once, and basically indirectly called me dumb and told me I'm wasting her time? That's no way to talk to any patient especially if I'm being respectful. This is absolutely unacceptable. I don't care if you're having a bad day, you shouldn't be talking to people like that period, let alone if your job is customer service. This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any front desk/customer service. It's like they hate their jobs. Do you guys no vet people before hiring them?

**The Best Chiropractors for the Whole Family!**…read more I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Trevor and Dr. Teresa Crossley! I primarily see Dr. Trevor, but Dr. Teresa has also taken amazing care of my children, and we are so grateful to have found them. Dr. Teresa is absolutely incredible with babies. I brought my last two babies to her within a week of being born, and she was so calm, gentle, and nurturing with them. She takes her time, listens, and has such a natural ability to understand what each baby needs. I felt completely comfortable having her care for my newborns. I see Dr. Trevor for regular maintenance, and he is equally amazing. His appointments are never a quick, in-and-out experience. He takes the time to make sure your body is properly warmed up and ready for an adjustment, and he really cares about making sure you are taken care of. My 9- and 7-year-old children see him monthly as well, both for maintenance and for injuries from competitive gymnastics. He is fantastic with kids! He is gentle, funny, and makes them feel comfortable. They genuinely LOVE going to see him. When they have an injury, he takes the time to assess it and explain what likely happened, what is going on in their bodies, how to help it heal, and what they can do to prevent it from happening again. Whenever I have an issue myself, he is just as thorough in explaining everything and providing exercises to do at home when needed. Beyond the incredible care, the office is extremely clean, comfortable, and truly family-friendly. Bringing all of my kids to appointments is easy because there are plenty of things for them to do, and the doctors are so welcoming of the whole family. If you are looking for chiropractors who are knowledgeable, thorough, gentle, and genuinely care about their patients, I highly recommend Dr. Trevor and Dr. Teresa Crossley. We trust them with our entire family and couldn't be happier with the care we receive!

That level of care helped me understand my condition and provided a path forward. At this clinic, the evaluation consisted primarily of X-rays and having me walk a few steps back and forth. Based on that minimal assessment, I was told they didn't think anything was wrong. Despite clearly explaining that I suffer from significant knee pain and that my symptoms are affecting my daily life, there was no meaningful attempt to identify the cause, discuss treatment options, evaluate my strength or mobility in depth, or provide any plan for managing the pain. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I specifically told them about my previous knee brace and the circumstances that led to it being prescribed. Rather than exploring whether a similar evaluation or referral might be appropriate for my current right knee issues, I was left sitting for roughly 20 minutes before an administrative staff member came in simply to show me knee brace options they happened to have in stock. To add insult to injury, I paid nearly $150 out of pocket after insurance for what amounted to little more than X-rays, a brief walk across the room, and being shown products for sale. I received no meaningful assessment, no treatment plan, no referral, and no support for the severe knee pain that brought me there in the first place. I came looking for professional medical guidance and a thorough physical therapy assessment. Instead, I felt like my concerns were brushed aside and the focus shifted to selling products rather than understanding why I am experiencing significant pain. Patients deserve to be listened to, evaluated carefully, and given clear recommendations. Unfortunately, my experience was a costly waste of time and money.

Also very honest, transparent, polite, truly cares of the physical well-being of the patient. Very detailed with explanations of the procedures. 1.5 star to the office , Dr Chao's main assistant is warm and welcoming, a good nurse but not great besides that. Maybe she's a good assistant to the doctor himself, but brace yourself if you're a patient. You'll have to do a lot of homework on your own. My experience was: no call backs, even if promised; I understand when I couldn't reach her due to busy schedule, but zero call backs resulting in several re-schedules of the promised date for the op room that lead to a several months delay... Then my claim was denied (about a certain insurance coverage) because of the officer's lack of knowledge. I needed to ask my insurance to call the office and fix this mistake. She agreed that it was their mistake - I'm thankfull for that and we all make mistakes, but I had to go through some rough times and I got charged for an extra appointment because of that, so the advice is to always educate yourself and advocate for yourself no matter what even if you get denied‍. And lastly, I had a specific date for a post op check up scheduled. During that appointment the tubes sticking out of my body were supposed to be removed and I couldn't wait for it. It was torture. The appointment got rescheduled. I caledl and stressed that the doctor told me the check up had to be sooner than later - no reaction. In a weeks time - I call again to confirm - and Dr is out of the office. Why would a patient be scheduled on the day when the Dr is ooo...and it was vacation not emergency. Anyway, I beg for someone to remove my tubes and she said that she could do it any day by herself. I was so upset-mad lol To summarize: maybe I dont know how hard it is to be a surgeon's assistant and I'm being unfair. And all in all, my coverage was approved and the surgery went great. It just was not the best admin experience for me - it took a lot for a non native person to dig in the intricacies of insurance processes and advocating for myself while completely new to the process. So take care and be proactive. Dr Chao - recommend!

I originally booked with the highly recommended Dr. O'Brian, who left the practice a week before my appointment. After my experience, I can't help but wonder why. I was reassigned to Dr. Gupta, who disclosed having only two years of experience as a physician. After being instructed to arrive 30 minutes early, I waited another 45 minutes to be seen. Her consultation felt more like a textbook lecture than meaningful expertise in perimenopause. The real failure came afterward. When my medication was backordered, I took it upon myself to locate another pharmacy. The medical assistant responded to my prescription transfer request with attitude, then stopped responding altogether. To make matters worse, the clinical coordinator called to accuse me of inappropriate behavior without fully reviewing my requests, then dismissed my medication concerns as neither urgent nor a priority. Absolutely appalling patient service. Women navigating perimenopause deserve competent, compassionate, and responsive care. Instead, I encountered an inexperienced physician, an unprofessional medical assistant, and a confrontational clinical coordinator. The most disturbing part? The complete lack of accountability and disregard for patient care. I cannot recommend Dr. Gupta or her staff. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. I sincerely hope to find Dr. O'Brian at her new practice.

It all started with a wound on the bottom of my left foot that was growing at an exponentially concerning rate until a referral came in to see Dr. Berger for the issue. The previous podiatrist had spent literal weeks only calling me back in for repeated appointments to "take pictures and measurements" of the wound as it continued to grow unabated. My wife and I both became concerned and decided to ask for a referral to a different podiatrist. That's how I landed into the care of Dr. Berger and his exceptional staff. To be honest, words and descriptions don't do that office justice for the amount of care and expertise that's immediately placed onto a patient when being put into their care. I'm old, been around for nearly 6 decades and know how to "read the room" well enough to know when the air around me is either positive and true or chaotic and negative. The moment I wheeled into that office I started to get a feeling that I'd made the right choice and sure enough, my gut was right. Within minutes I was called back into a room and met Dr. Berger for the first time. I told him what was going on and he immediately went to work on treating the wound! No being told "we'll have to wait for this and that, blah, blah, blah. No excuses from this doctor, nope. He just went to work on the problem and within 20 minutes, he'd treated the area, fitted me with a preformed boot for support, and was given specific instructions to adhere to for the duration of my visits to treat and reduce the wound. Needless to say, my wound was quite large [silver dollar sized, opened to the raw flesh] so it would take several weeks to get it reduced and then x-ray for a permanent solution to the "pressure wound" so it wouldn't repeat itself in the future. In the end, a quick surgery to remove a 5th metacarpal bone from my foot relieved the pressure and it was 100% healed within 2 weeks of the surgery! I'm writing this two months post-op and it's amazing how I cannot even discern where the wound originally was! His talent is special. I'd have to say his level of passion, his dedication to his profession makes me feel that he was born for this work and is a truly wonderful rare find in the medical field these days. If you need a podiatrist that's the "real deal" look no further than Dr. Colby Berger and his staff up at Scripps in La Jolla at the Synergy Building. You won't regret this choice for care!
