They all made a very scary situation much easier. This was my second exact surgery and Dr. Samagh was kind and caring, and has such great bedside manner, something lacking in todays doctors. My surgery was so much easier than my first surgery two years ago, and my healing has been smoother with the help of both Garrett and Kristi's help. I would not hesitate ever turning to this group if you ever need surgery. They are at the top of game, and have new and innovative ways to get results that others don't. I've been seeing Dr. Samagh and his staff for several years for the bursa sac in my left hip. I'm not in need of surgery, but he was able to provide me with a shot to help with the pain. He was always professional, kind, and considerate. He then hired Garrett Bronken to join his staff. Garrett gave me my last few shots. Garrett too was wonderful. He's easy to talk to, and he advises you step by step what he's going to do for you with the shot. I also received a shot in my shoulder area recently from Garrett, as I injured my back moving a heavy object. I felt better the next day. Dr. Samagh's office manager, Christy, is very efficient and friendly. I am going to miss them all, as I am moving out of town. They are a great group. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for orthopedic and regenerative therapy. They are a wonderful group. read more

I have been going to Dr. Samagh for years and have had surgery with him. He is the ultimate professional who listens carefully and offers many options for care. The office manager Christy has always been awesome. My last visit this past week was with Garrett for a pulled / torn hamstring. He is following in Dr. Samagh's footsteps, as he was incredibly professional and took tie to check all of my leg muscle's and recommended an MRI for further review. I attempted to see this provider and although I did not end up seeing him for a number of reasons, I will say that his scheduling/admin staff is incompetent. They are not rude, but they lack any sort of logic or practice coordination skills you would expect such as replying to emails, telling you critical things that you should know about the practice, returning phone calls, following up after saying they would, giving correct information about scheduling an appointment or basic insurance coordination. It is asinine any doctor would have office staff this poor and it reflects negatively on the provider. I wasted about a month trying to see him in no small part due to the incompetence and lack of professionalism of his staff. read more

There aren't enough good things to say about this practice. The team there are outstanding from the care to the significantly less fun administrative parts of medicine. Dr. Samagh performed a hip operation on me about 6 months ago. Days before the originally scheduled date, my insurance provider denied coverage. His team went to work with advocating on my behalf, and we were back on the books in a week. The surgery and after care have been outstanding. Very clear directions and expectations on my rehab. Every t crossed, and i dotted along the way. I was cleared to get back to regular activity as of yesterday. As Dr. Samagh said during the visit, "go enjoy life." His practice will allow me and many others to do just that. I highly recommend them. read more

Im very impressed with Dr Sanjum Samagh and his PA, Garrett. I had previously seen three orthopedic surgeons regarding my fully torn and retracted rotator cuff and were pushing for invasive procedures. However, one of them mentioned about the balloon implant procedure which is fairly new and not done by many orthopedic surgeons at this point. I did tons of research which led me to see Dr Samagh. Though Im early in the recovery, 3 weeks out, the progress has exceeded my expectations. Very happy with the results. read more

I chose to ignore the negative commentary for the front staff and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I had a 2pm appt today for which I was running 15 mins behind because of construction traffic on my way there. I called as a courtesy and was told that I wouldn't be seen because it would be after their grace period. When asked what the grace period was, they said it was 15 mins which would I would have made. I stated this but they said I would still need to complete new patient paperwork. Ok, great -- but why say there is a 15 min. grace period when there isn't. At other doctor offices they explicitly state if time is needed to complete paperwork and even work ti provide a buffer -- advising patients to get there 15 mins early. This wasn't explained to me when my appointment was made, only that it was important for me to get my Xray completed which I did within a day of making my appointment. The front office lacks sufficient communication skills and empathy. This isn't my first rodeo. I would be surprised if every patient that checks in here is seen EXACTLY at their appointment time or hasn't had to wait 15-20 mins., which I've seen as standard. Some empathy and flexibility would have been nice as I have experienced at other medical establishments in the past -- some have even let me do the paperwork while I was waiting for the doctor to get in the office to ensure I was still seen. I suggested this and was denied. It wasn't until 5 or so minutes of pleading that the person said they could put me on a cancellation list. No thanks. Buh-bye. I wonder how many patients they lose because of this. Do better. read more

This 3-star review is for the office staff. I have a serious, painful injury I need repaired. I have an appointment, but it's many weeks out. I asked to be put on a wait-list to get an earlier appointment in case someone canceled. The office staff is unwilling to do this simple task. Also, getting the office staff to return a call is like pulling teeth. I'll review the doctor if and when I'm finally seen. read more

Dr. Samagh was the third doctor I consulted for pain that lasted almost two years. He found the root cause of my pain and performed a hip arthroscopy/labral repair to correct the problem. I am three months post-surgery and can happily say that I am better now than I was prior to the surgery. Before and after the surgery, I appreciated that his assistant, Garrett, was quick to help with answering questions and giving explanations. So for 7 years I've been on my health and weight loss journey. Too many miles to count. About three months ago my left knee really started to hurt. Got X-rays in Cabo and saw a doctor there who said knee replacement. I said no. Got back to North County and thanks to Yelp I found Dr. Samagh and Kristi. He looked at the X-rays and said knee replacement is the last option. He said it with this beautiful honesty that I needed. He said let's try this gel injection that will last for six months and go from there. He talked with me not to me. Did it today and home icing and so excited to get back to my beach and walks. Dr Samagh performed my hip labrum repair and did a fantastic job. I no longer have any of the pain I had before the surgery. For an active person like me the last 2 years were really difficult. I had shoulder surgery (InSpace balloon implant) last May by Dr. Samagh and it was a complete failure. Another surgeon that I saw prior to Dr. S. told me I needed a reverse Shoulder Replacement. My ball/socket was 100% detached as were the tendons. When I saw Dr. S. he suggested a less invasive approach so of course that was music to my ears! After having the balloon surgery and all the P.T. , I was in much worse shape than before the surgery. I had less mobility and was in chronic pain. I called his office several times and was constantly told "give it more time." At the two month mark at my office visit Dr.S. very nonchalantly..."OK let's try a reverse shoulder replacement." This procedure is what should have been done all along!!! I proceeded to see three prominent S.D. orthopedic surgeons and was told by ALL of them that I was never a candidate for the balloon implant. I did have the reverse shoulder replacement five weeks ago and believe me it was no picnic but I can see the results already and feel like a new human. Enduring major shoulder surgery twice in eight months was miserable but I am grateful that I do see the light at the end of the tunnel now. Kristi had the nerve to charge me $15 to fill out a form after billing my Insurance an ungodly amount for the surgery. I thought this was very unprofessional. Needless to say...I am not a fan of this office. read more

From my initial consultation, throughout my follow up visits to my eventual rotator cuff surgery Dr. Samagh and his team made me feel confident and comfortable. I met with Dr, Samagh after experiencing mostly mild but annoying long term hip pain. He was friendly, clearly knowledgeable, has extensive experience, and he was able to explain things in a way that a non-medical person can understand. I immediately felt that I had found the right doctor. The quality of care and follow up were excellent. An MRI showed a tear of my hip labrum and an Xray revealed only mild arthritis (despite being in my mid 60's). I opted for PT first, but ultimately decided to have surgery. I decided to have the surgery to hopefully mitigate the pain, but also because repairing the labrum could help ensure that the arthritis doesn't progress to the point of someday needing a hip replacement. Only about three weeks have passed since the surgery. The crutches were gone after two weeks, and I am walking, attending PT and making steady progress. The full recovery time is said to be about four months, but I feel like my healing could be ahead of schedule. I'll hopefully remember to update this in a few months. Scheduling and communication with the office is run by Kristi. She is also a nurse and helps coordinate with the surgery center, etc. She is positive, friendly, and truly great to work with. I am very happy with the quality of care and the overall office experience that I received with Dr. Samagh. read more

If I could give Dr. Samagh and his team 10 stars, I would! After receiving delayed medical care from Workers Comp and rejection from multiple doctors outside of the system, I found Dr. Samagh. I knew there was something terribly wrong with my body and that I shouldn't or couldn't live with for the rest of my life in my condition. I was defeated and had forgotten I had scheduled one more appointment. I considered canceling but thought, What's one more? Upon research and reading reviews of prior patients, the one thing that grabbed my attention, was that his patients said that he listens. This was everything I was seeking. I made the hour-long drive and am so glad I did. I will drive hours for the guidance and care given from this team. During my first visit, Dr. Samagh provided the answers to what had been ailing me for so long. Within15 minutes, he made sense of everything that not one person would provide even an educated guess to in 2+ years! It finally made sense.  It was so overwhelming yet joyous to hear the words, "You're not crazy, and I will do what I can to help you." I cried.. He knew that images don't always show what we know is there. Lo and behold, things were there that we would have never seen! I'm so thankful that Dr. Samagh has the knowledge and is willing to fight for your care. I had hip surgery a week ago, and I can't imagine anyone else being my surgeon. From Dr. Samagh's bedside manner to his exceptional knowledge, to his genuine care for patients, Dr. Samagh is amazing! I anticipate additional surgery will be needed in the future and will seek the trusted medical advice here.  I hope Dr. Samagh has the opportunity to guide and usher in a new generation of physicians and that his exemplary service can be known to those throughout the medical field. I recently had surgery with Dr Samaugh to correct a complication from a hip replacement done somewhere else. I was extremely impressed with the care and concern of both Dr Samaugh and his office staff!!! When I walked into Dr. Samagh's office the first time, I noticed a giant map of Mammoth Mountain on the wall. The first thing I said to him was, "I want to be at the top of that mountain next year.". He laughed and said, "no guarantees, but I think we can get you back up there". From there, we went over my MRI, my issues with a labral tear, impingements etc and created a plan working hand in hand with one of the PT's in the area. I had lots of questions and he patiently covered every answer, ending with, "what else do you need to know?" after each answer. I had surgery in Feb 2022 and was in very little pain after. I was able to start hiking again by 8-10 weeks and have spent the entire summer of 2022 traveling all over hiking mountains with little to no pain. I am back to 95% + of where I was and am looking forward to taking that lift up to the top of Mammoth Mountain and sending a little cheers to Dr. Samagh for helping making it happen! read more
