A few years ago I came home early from a trip because of terrible shoulder and back pain. I tried to find an appointment before I got on the plane. No luck! Then I saw the reviews for Dr. Belnap on Yelp & lo and behold he was able to fit me in the week I returned . After looking at x rays of my shoulder and back from years ago & examining me he sent me to get an MRI . I was relieved it was an MRI and not a CAT scan as they have been shown to increase your chances of getting cancer. The MRI place he recommended was able to get me in for the next week.. my co-pay was under $100 for my back and my shoulder . Soon after this I saw Dr. Belnap again & he gave me a cortisone injection in my shoulder and some medication which helped greatly . A few months later the same in my back ! Last year I somehow hurt my back so badly I could barely walk. Once again, he was able to fit me in quickly and gave me an injection, which helped somewhat. However, it was Christmas holidays and I was going away for a special celebration and my back couldn't handle it. He was able to fit me in during the holiday season quickly, gave me an epidural and I was able to go and be fine. he's very caring and and we'll do whatever he can to help. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Belnap for almost a year now, and have nothing but great things to say about him and his staff! They are all compassionate/understanding, professional/organized, constantly improving & researching practices/techniques & equipment, and have gone out of their way to assist me when unexpected scenarios present themselves (as they have been known to, like with Health Insurance for example)! I was born with a rare genetic condition that has plagued me all my life, and required management of it for the better part of my life. I have seen over 100 doctors and specialists over this time and have learned one valuable lesson...if you find a doctor who is professional, trustworthy, willing to learn/research/help, understanding & listens, and meets your needs...you hang onto them as they have become rare these days. Dr. Belnap also served in the military, which I respect and am thankful for, but...it also means he's seen the worst of the worst. Bottom line is that Dr. Belnap gets it, and has honor...if you respect him and his rules, he will do everything in his power to help you! With all that said, I highly recommend this practice on the whole. It's even more rare to find a doctor like him where the entire staff is also just as great. This office is soooo professional!!! I got an appointment within a few days! Dr Belnap's staff is top notch!! I never had to worry about insurance questions or codes. The staff took care of all of that for me. I originally tried getting an appointment at another Pain Management Office (Dr. Casey Fisher Office). It took them over a month to figure out my insurance code! I called their office at least 35 times during that month only to reach a VM message. The time I did get a live person, I was told we don't call insurance companies you have to do that yourself. At Dr. Belnaps office I did not have deal with my insurance, the staff did that for me. After you experience this first class office, you meet with Dr. Belnap who LISTENS!! Having a doctor that cares is fabulous but when he is able to eliminate the pain without hurting you it feels like a miracle. After years of hand injections that I've dreaded as the procedure is excruciating, I find myself in the hand of a Doctor that relieves the pain without putting me through pain. I am so grateful to Dr. Belnap. When I went to see him I was unable to stand for more than 2-3 minutes before my calf screamed at me. The first epidural didn't work but I'd also had two others by another doctor that failed to work plus shots in my ankle that didn't work. Dr Belnap was suggested to me by my general physician After being disappointed by the response from my arthiritis Dr. I was a little reluctant at first not really knowing what to expect. During my initial meeting he explained the options and how to proceed. First thing MRI . This was NOT suggested by arthiritis Dr. So my confidence was growing. Next meeting he explained clearly what the issue was and how to proceed. When I had the very precise procedure he and his assistant were very caring and explained everything they were doing. I have used many pain specialists over the years as I have damage in many areas of my body. Dr. Belnap was very professional and concerned about my overall condition. His demeaner and openness is quite refreshing. We discussed my medical history and agreed on a treatment plan. He performed a thermal ablation to the worst pain areas and addressed the other areas with the least invasive medication available. The ablation had relieved the severe muscle spasms across my low back, but is not a cure for spinal movement that causes soft tissue pain. I have a compression fracture in the thoracic region, a neck fusion along with many other surgeries and injuries that have required very strong pain medicine (oxy) for me to function at all. We are starting meds again at the lowest level possible to give me some level of relief. As a responsible patient, I do not drink alcohol or use any other medicine to put this treatment or his practice at risk. I use additional methods such as a TENS unit, heat, rest, stretching and a total gym for limited exercise to strengthen my body. They are so busy that you need patience to make contact with them and get through the initial process. I made sure I sent them all the records and information they needed to assess my situation so they would consider treating me. I have been seeing Dr. Belnap for about 6 months. I've always been very pleased with his quality of care and knowledge. Today I had a procedure in his office, and was pleasantly surprised how wonderful the procedure went. I've had many back and neck interventional pain procedures at an area hospital and they were extremely painful and it felt as though I was a number and not patient. Dr. Belnap was extremely gentle and thorough, providing me with individualized care. He talked me through each step of the procedure which calmed my nerves. He's a perfectionist, which is an ideal quality for a physician performing procedures involving the spine, nerves, and joints of the back. He has a warm bedside manner and is a stellar D.O. I have been having back pain for years. Finally, I couldn't get out of bed in the morning without pain, couldn't bend over to brush my teeth and make the bed without extreme pain. I have tried Physical Therapy, acupuncture, Chiropractic and the relief lasted usually one day. My G P would give me Toradol shots which did work but finally my G.P. told me to try a pain management doctor. I checked out the two doctor names he gave me but both have a few bad reviews. I kept searching and finally found Dr. Belnap. All of his reviews were great. So I called his office and Samantha made an appointment for me the next day. I met with Dr. Belnap and he was so personable, compassionate and he listened to everything I had to say. It was liking talking to an old friend. I felt we had a connection right away. So he ordered an MRI of my Lower back (L3/4, L4/5, L5/S1).He also had Maryann give me a Toradol injection to help with the pain right now. I made an appointment for 2 weeks later as I was going out of town. He explained what the problem was degenerative disease (arthritis) and pinched nerves and what he could do to relieve the pain. (Joint Steroid Injections to the 3 areas). He said he had time the next day. He and Lauren got the room ready and he explained what he was doing while he was doing the injections. The numbing was the worst part of the procedure and the injections were virtually painless. He said no lifting, twisting and turning.Two weeks later I still have no pain.He doesn't know how long the injections will last but I am hoping forever. Dr. Belnap and his staff are amazing. I've been working with Dr Belnap for over 18 months to control my arthritis pain. He suggested steroid injections as well as narcotics for my bone on bone shoulder pain. He regularly tests his patients to make sure we're staying on our treatment plan. I appreciate this- we both know I'm not violating my pain treatment contract.
