Level 4 PT has been a lifesaver for me post-partum! I worked with Dr. Dawn after having my third and fourth children to correct diastasis recti, strengthen my pelvic floor, and strengthen my core overall. Dr. Dawn also did a great job helping to restore strength in other areas of my body (LOTS of butt strengthening!) for eventually running post-partum. I am quite sure that my post-partum recovery after baby #4 was much quicker/less severe diastasis because I had already been working with Dr. Dawn from the prior pregnancy. That pic is me doing my first downward dog in 2 years, something I was told by surgeons that I would never be able to do again from having a rare hand condition called Kienbock's Disease, and having a proximal row carpectomy (removing 3 bones from my hand). This is me 12 weeks after my surgery, thanks to Dr. Chris at Level 4. Even though we have some progress still to go, I am beyond ecstatic at what I can do already. As a yoga instructor, a trapeze hobbyist, and being super active and fit, you can imagine the devastating news upon hearing my diagnosis. I lived with excruciating chronic pain for over 2 years, unable to use my left hand, and gained a bunch of weight from my depression about not being able to do so much of what I love. I couldn't even open doors, or a jar, or pick my pets up. I was misdiagnosed with tendinitis for over a year, then tried every holistic therapy possible for a year after that, but learned that my lunate bone had collapsed significantly, and I needed the surgery. I heard many stories about other people with my surgery not ever recovering fully, and my surgeons told me I'd probably only regain about 30-45% range of motion, which would significantly hinder my athletic activities. I went to a couple of P.T.'s before finding Dr. Chris, but wasn't fully satisfied with my progress or the lack of personalized attention. I am beyond grateful that I found Level 4. Right away at the consultation, I felt that Dr. Chris was confident in my results, and was fully capable, experienced, and knowledgeable about how to help me recover and get me back to my activities. The entire team there is simply amazing. All the therapists there know my situation and are always routing me on, encouraging my progress, and celebrating my wins with me. Aside from their passion for helping people heal, what really convinced me to go with their team is that they aren't governed by insurance. My care isn't dependent on what my insurance pays them. Therefore, I get super individualized care by an experienced physical therapist, and they go above and beyond my expectations, each and every time. After having a complex surgery, I wanted to make sure I went with the best of the best to get my fullest results, and that's exactly what I'm getting. I love hearing from Dr. Chris after my sessions each week to check in on me, or seeing his check-in emails with a short little personalized video message to encourage me or remind me of the exercises I learned. After just 5 sessions, I've already regained 80% range of extension mobility (when I was told the best I'd maybe ever get was 30-45%). Yes, it's been a long painful journey, and yes, I have to do my exercises at home, and physical therapy isn't always that comfortable; but it is always worth it. And if you trust what the doctors here guide you to do, you will be amazed at your results. I often joke that they should call their office the magic shop.. lol. I've been struggling with my belly after I had my child (over 4 years ago). My doctors told me that is where I carried my fat and to get over it or have a tummy tuck. After seeking advice through the best Facebook group out there another member noticed I was in Riverside County and messaged me to meet with Dr. Dawn at Level4. It was a drive (a little more than an hour) but it was worth it. She quickly made me feel at home and relaxed. She gave me hope that my belly wasn't just fat but I had Diastasis Recti (ab separation) and a weak pelvic floor. This makes sense because my lower back kept going out almost monthly for a year after having my daughter and I was leaking whenever I sneezed (sometimes it wasn't even when I sneezed). I promise you when I say, I was depressed and losing ALL hope. If it were for my amazing daughter I would have been in such a deep place I'm not sure I would have come out of it. Dr. Dawn and the other Facebook groups I joined saved my life. I'm not getting asked if I'm having twins or if I'm due anytime (that's how pregnant I looked and felt -- but I'm not). My insurance covered PT but I wasn't happy with what they were telling me so I chose to save up the money and visit Dr. Dawn (out of pocket) and I would do it again in a heartbeat. In fact, I am slowly saving up for a follow up to get new exercises to keep going with my healing. I know its easier to make excuses but she is a must if you want to feel like yourself again. I began seeing Dr. Dawn about 3 months ago for aching feet. I couldn't walk without pain and had been diagnosed with both metatarsalgia (shrinkage of the fat pads over the metatarsal bones) and plantar fasciitis. For the first 6 sessions the treatment felt amazing but there was no change in my pain while walking. However, after the 7th session I woke up 2 days later and when I got out of bed I was surprised that my foot pain was significantly less. Over the next 2 sessions I have continued to improve and was able to attend my daughter's wedding last weekend with far less foot pain than I have had in the past. Level 4 PT is very professional but also very personal. The front desk person, Jacquie, is sweet, kind and very easy to have a conversation with. Dr. Dawn is the best not only as a fantastic therapist but as a person and friend. I very much enjoy my sessions and am very happy with my results. I am so glad I found Dr. Dawn! I am a retired ballet dancer and mom of 2 and have had back pain on and off for over 10 years. Before having kids and moving to SD, I saw many very reputable physical therapists who helped a little bit but when the few exercises they gave me didn't solve my problem, they didn't have any other solutions and tried to pass me off to someone else. I was reluctant to start PT again and thought I had tried every back exercise out there but within the first few weeks of working with Dawn, my back felt stronger than it has in years. I absolutely LOVE and marvel Dr. Dawn Andalon! I had been searching for someone that specializes in Diastasis Recti for about 4 years (Diastasis Recti is the separation of your abdomen/ transverse muscles due to a pregnancy - super arduous to fix on your own). When I found her and booked her for an evaluation, she spent an hour with me and really took the time to see what parts of my body were weak due to childbirth. I had no idea that there are many factors to repairing Diastasis Recti. She also personalized a program just for me and sends me specific exercises for the week that helps a lot. I am going on my 6th month of physical therapy/physical training with her to gain my muscle and strength back, and I look forward to seeing her each week. I am also a photographer so she is helping me strengthen parts of my body that I use for weddings since photographing 10-hour days are so laborious. I am so excited that what I thought "could never be repaired" has slowly been repaired and I feel so much more confident in my strength and workouts now. Since Covid I have basically living in a chair in front of the TV. I didn't want a large gym atmosphere, but more of an intimate, caring facility. Level 4 was perfect! it's a small boutique studio. I cannot recommend Level4 PT & Wellness enough!  They changed my life. Literally. They truly know what they are talking about and will go to any lengths and means to help you get better. Please take my story as an example of why this is worth your valuable money and time....  After 2 weeks of extreme sciatica pain, a trip to the ER, and countless attempts at alternative solutions to find pain relief, I was 31 weeks pregnant and had a 2 year old that I could no longer even take care of because every step and movement sent shooting pain through my entire left side. I was told by many professionals, friends, and family that I might have to live with it until I give birth. No one should be in this amount of pain for 2.5 months, plus the emotional toll it was taking on me by losing out on so many things like work, cancelling my toddlers 2nd birthday party, and not being able to just simply take care of my child each day and night. I was entering depression especially since my referral through my doctor's office for insurance covered PT kept getting held up.  I stumbled upon Level4 PT on a late night teary eyed search for solutions and filled out the contact card.  I was called the next day by Randi and we had a great chat and set up a discovery meeting and then an evaluation appointment. This whole time Randi and Dr. Lindsay were amazing and completely reassuring that my goal of simply "walking to the bathroom without wincing in pain" would easily be met along with my bigger goal of being able to take care of my 2 year old again and to be able to enjoy the remainder of pregnancy.  I would have settled for the first goal and been delighted just by that but they did way more. I walked into my evaluation appointment literally fighting back tears from the pain I was feeling while walking/limping into their office. By the time that first hour was over, I could walk, very slowly, without limping and with only a few smaller sciatica zingers along the way.   Luckily, I brought my husband with me and he felt the "magic" (that's what he likes to call it) of the place and people. The authenticity, professionalism, and support is just magnetic. To be honest, I did not realize until this searching process for non insurance covered PT of what the price range was and we are not a family of disposable income, but we do believe in making necessary sacrifices elsewhere so that we have our health and wellbeing to fully enjoy this life. We signed up right then and there for a package of appointments because, although I was a little better, there was still much work to be done and we couldn't imagine it done anywhere else. My whole body was looked at, not just my lower back. THIS made the biggest difference. I received very simple tools and exercises to help in the following appointments. Dr. Lindsay sent me videos after each session to show me and reiterate what I needed to work on for the week. If you put in the time and the money, I am confident this place will give you your life back. They sure did for me.  For my recent birthday, I seriously only asked for money so I can put it towards being cared for by this amazing team. My postpartum recovery from my first child was terrible and long and medically unsupported, but I am actually looking forward to not only having a faster recovery under their care, but a more wholesome approach to whole body wellness.  Please do yourself a favor and call them NOW! I've been seeing Dr. Dawn the past few weeks- She is so down to earth and sweet. I love how clean and nice the facility is. It's right of the freeway and was actually pretty easy for me to find. She provides Quality care- I've been to different physical therapy so when I say they genuinely provide quality care I mean it 100% I'm her only client at our appointments and she works with me the whole hour- shows me how to do things, explains why and what it's going to do to help me, talks me through everything, was even great with my son when I had to bring him in with me. They are highly trained and highly motivated, super friendly. I have been to pt before after an ankle break. It was boring and a waste of time. Didn't bother to finish the prescription of exercise. I've been seeing Chris at Level 4 for rehab post shoulder surgery (latarjet procedure). The latarjet procedure was the last surgery I could have for a dislocated shoulder. I'm in athlete for USA beach handball, which is a throwing sport. Additionally, there is a lot of contact with other players and the ground. My shoulder needs to be in top shape to start playing again. I've been through a lot of rehab. I like that he started with my goals. He helped me outline stretch goals and realistic goals. He also monitored my goals throughout the process and helped me adjust as needed. I wanted to be aggressive. So far, I've been able to push the boundaries of my rehab and have had steady results. I'm analytical. Chris has been using unique pressure tools that help me measure strength in the different muscle groups (eg. lower trap, middle trap, etc.). He measures my muscle groups from one side to the other (right v. left) and then tells me where they should be. I've been able to achieve symmetry in strength, now have to work on more strength. He has been giving me challenging and progressing exercises that are different from other physical therapy exercises. He will also email me video to make sure I do them properly at home. I find his cues very helpful. For example, I am very upper trap dominant and needed cues to turn on other, smaller muscle groups. He'd tell me to think about reaching in a certain direction and then doing the exercise to focus on the muscle that was supposed to be strengthening. The level of care I've received has surpassed previous rehab experiences. I feel that the proper muscle groups are strengthening and stabilizing. I will continue to work with Chris on my shoulder rehab and other needs to make sure I'm at the top of my game. read more

I met with Dr. Dawn at Level 4 with questions of how their facility and staff were different from other therapists in the area. She discussed their concept of working as a team towards flexibility and strength as a strong base for their wellness life without pain program. Having worked with other local physical therapists I've seen results but nothing like what I have experienced with Dr. Chris and Dr. Dawn. The commitment of the Level 4 team takes assessment and wellness to a different level of excellence. For my full body assessment, Dr. Chris used unique pressure tools to measure my strength in the different muscle groups (ex. shoulder, triceps, upper and lower back). He measured from one side to the other (right vs left) and then told me where they should be. I was quite shocked at my loss of strength and flexibility following a shoulder replacement. I am still working to achieve symmetry in strength, and have added additional exercises to increase my endurance. I look forward to further growth in my mobility, strength, and flexibility. Level 4 has given me exercises which are challenging and progressing and are different from other exercises I've been using. I am now seeing the results in daily life. Having worked with Level 4, I believe in their wellness Pilates and Yoga programs and feel that I have found a new home there. This used to be such an amazing place to help women and men with pain and connecting to their bodies. Sadly the whole staff has been replaced, over 10 people have willingly resigned due to the atmosphere. I have had personal interactions with the owner/operator and it's seemingly obvious it's only about the dollars and not your wellness. I spent more than 6k and did not experience any long term healing since I later found out employees were advised to push many sessions onto a person. It was looked at as a one size fits all when it came to sessions purchased. I have since moved on with a different therapist and I already know my body after 3 short sessions vs the 16 with level 4. They had inexperienced people wasting my time and money and treated me like a Guinea pig. I'm all for helping new graduates but not at my expense. If there was a senior specialist and a newbie was assisting I am all for it. That wasn't the case. The owner offered me sessions to help me but it's been known that she hasn't worked one on one with a woman on pelvic floor for over 3 years. I refused to be her Guinea pig as well. There are so many amazing people and places nearby that don't treat you like a one size fits all dollar sign. I hope this review helps and I hope you find the true wellness you deserve. read more

I flew from San Francisco to see Dr. Chris who came highly recommended to me. I was in debilitating pain from severely herniated discs in my lumbar and was considering open back surgery as three epidurals did not help. I was nearly at the end of my rope. I tried many non-surgical treatments including traction, epidurals, electro-stim, ice, cryotherapy, acupuncture, NSAIDs, chiropractic work, physical therapy, and spinal decompression to name a few. All of these treatments helped temporarily. After a thorough 2-hour evaluation, Dr. Chris determined that I could recover while avoiding surgery by following a regimen of exercises. He chose a handful of exercises so as not to overwhelm me. This ensured that I would maintain the exercises when I returned home. Thanks to Dr. Chris's help, I was confident that I could avoid open back surgery and heal properly. Where to begin with the amazing people at Level4PT! I started here as soon as my doctor cleared me postpartum and I am SO thankful to have found this place. They truly care about you and helping you reach your goals. For me, that is being able to perform daily activities and lift and play with my growing son without having to worry about pain or my body failing me; I am slowly but steadily getting there. Dr. Lindsay is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and truly hears what you tell her about aches/pains/stress/daily activity requirements that affect body mechanics. She understands how crazy my schedule can be at times and is willing to find times both virtual and in person to keep me on my path to recovery. I am already so much stronger than a few months ago! Deb is the resident pilates guru and also has some amazing tips on tapping into your nervous system via the olfactory system. No matter who I run into during my sessions, everyone here just exudes positivity and kindness that brightens my mood even if I am physically experiencing a challenging day. I have been going to Level 4 for one month now and I'm still going for my treatments. I started with Deb for private pilate sessions.i started with just three sessions thinking i would stop and maybe do regular classes. Deb has helped me so much and I look forward each time working with her that I just signed up for more treatments. She is the best pilates instructor ever. She is caring, helpful , personable and very knowledgeable about the body and which parts pilates will help . She has helped me loosen my body so I can walk better so I'm not so tense. She is helping my lower back and nerves which is helping tremendously. After working with Deb I decided to get physical therapy with Dr. Lindsey to work hand and hand with Deb to help with my lower back and nerves as well. Dr. Lindsey is the best physical therapists ever. She works one on one with me for an hour and makes sure my lower back and nerves will be healed. She not only works with me there but I feel she is in my home with me everyday with zoom videos helping me through my exercises. I look forward to being there everytime i go. I originally came to Dr. Andalon for bilateral knee pain. I was tired of crawling up and down my stairs at home like I was 90 yrs old. I consider myself to be a very active person. I've been running for years which may contribute to the knee pain. I also love to hike and excercise in boot camp type classes. Crossfit has to be my favorite type of excercise! I injured my left shoulder more than a year ago which really limited me on my lifts. Mix that with the knee pain and it was difficult for me to do everything that I have enjoyed doing. And yes, I have seen a doctor and had many PT therapies before but I never continued because I was frustrated of the little progress. I'm stubborn and I figured these injuries will just heal itself. Fast forward more than a year and my knee pain has gotten worst, especially after the Spartan race. I Googled home remedies/excercise for knee pain (don't laugh, you all do it too! ) and Level4 Physical Therapy & Performance popped up. What intrigued me from the website was it targeted 30+ people who enjoy an active lifestyle. I called and Dr. Dawn screened me to see if I was a candidate for therapy. I made my initial evaluation with Dr. Oscar Andalon a few days after. He was so thorough! 3 hours long to be exact! Which doctor or physical therapist do you know does that? And get this, I initially just wanted my knees to be fixed but after evaluation, it was clear my left shoulder had limited movement. He made fixing my shoulder a goal too!!! I knew this place was different. Dr. Andalon is full of knowledge and experience. He was able to incorporate a gym type workout for me during my therapy sessions. I signed up for 6 sessions and was still a bit skeptical. But after those sessions, Level 4 PT surpassed my expectations! 6 visits completed and I am now climbing up and down my stairs without any pain. I ran 2 miles this morning without my knees bothering me. I can not wait to hike this weekend! I can now squat and do lunges. I am now lifting weights overhead and my mobility overall has improved for those olympic types of lifts. He empowered me with knowledge about proper form, techniques, and how to better take care of my body. I can not thank Dr. Andalon and his team enough! They really do care and it shows by the time and effort they spend with each client/patient. I was so fortunate to find this group of doctors. They are committed to getting their patients back on track AND they really do care. I found them on the internet while randomly searching for alternative solutions to knee replacement. I have been in pain for some time and gradually got to the point where I could not go up and down the stairs and had a hard time walking. Thought there was no hope, I did not want to have surgery and then painstaking therapy after. My very first session with Dr Oscar, had me walking up and down stairs!! My session today with Dr Chris was just as amazing, I am walking like a person without arthritic knees!! Every session will be an improvement and next level is to keep my knees strong. They have one on one full hour sessions. No drugs/painkillers!!! They accept Medicare, but seriously, I would have continued therapy even if Medicare would not. I can't give enough stars. Seriously. I started seeing Dr. Dawn about 4 months after the birth of my 2nd son. My first son was 11 lbs and my 2nd was 9 lbs. Both were delivered via C-section and they both did a number on my abdomen. I was having daily lower back pain and knew my diastasis recti (DR) needed to be rehabbed properly before I jumped back into exercise. I had tried pretty much every online program/DVD/wrap/etc you can think of and had seen another PT after my first son. After a couple of sessions with Dawn, I quickly realized that I had been doing core exercises incorrectly/ineffectively. I've been to other PTs through insurance and unfortunately, they only spend 20 minutes with you, hand you a bunch of excercises, and tell you to come back in 3 weeks. Dawn spends a full hour with you, showing you how to properly work through the excercises and monitoring your form along the way. It's been a couple months since I started and my core is SO much stronger. She also helped me understand that I'm able to do so much more than I thought with my DR as long as I'm conscious of my form and breathing. I still have a ways to go since I'm still breastfeeding, but I have a strong foundation of knowledge from which to build and the confidence to keep going thanks to Dr. Dawn. Go see her. Dr. Dawn and the team at Level4 are wonder workers!! I saw Dr. Dawn for 3 months helping me get back to running after a back injury. I was able to heal and get to some exercise through other therapies, but none of them helped me get back to my original abilities - primarily, running, HIIT workouts, and general high impact exercises (burpees, jumping jacks.) With the guidance and instruction from Dr Dawn, I am now stronger than I was, even previous to my injury, and I am back to running and all of my pre-injury abilities! I felt like Serena Williams doing the strength training exercises, which helped me get to the strength I needed for running. Thanks to Dr. Dawn, my core strength is back to how I felt prior to having two babies - and I didn't even realize how much of that core strength I had lost, until I gained it back. Thank you, Dr. Dawn! I have also started Pilates there; the instructor, Kamryn is amazing! She communicates each exercise with precision and a great sense of humor. The entire team in the office is warm, friendly, and inviting. You can see that they are a team of experts who truly enjoy their work and have their clients best interest as their top priority. I am impressed with the quality of care and the knowledge of the doctors at Level4. I started going there based on the detailed, excellent reviews. I have NOT been disappointed. It is even worth my driving back and forth from La Jolla. First Dawn helped me with my lower back and in a few sessions I found out what to do in order to avoid future injuries. They even showed me how to modify my free style stroke so as not to aggravate my shoulder. I had been dealing with shoulder problems on and off for quite some time until I started working with Oscar and Dawn. the way they handled my shoulder and worked on my painful areas shows they know what they are doing. I am an athlete on my 50s and developed a shoulder injury that wasn't going away. I met Dr. Chris at the gym and found out that he was a Physical Therapist so I went to try his treatment services and it really made a huge difference. Awesome experience! I came to Level 4 to work on my core weakness & diastasis with Dawn, and I was surprised by how much I improved in just a few short weeks! Seriously, I went from feeling like wobbly jello to feeling totally stable when doing core work like planks, push-ups, overhead squats, snatches, etc... Not only that but Dawn and Oscar both worked together and corrected multiple other issues I was having as well! Knee/hip pain, low back pain... I went from having pain after every deadlift session to having none at all, and from not being able to run without sharp hip pains the next day to having almost none. They even helped correct my messed-up toes-to-bar form... Seriously amazing. They're crazy smart and I can't recommend them enough!! read more

I went to LEVEL4 for hip and knee pain from arthritis. It was important to me to gain strength and mobility to continue surfing. I have been extremely impressed with the care I received from Dr. Dawn Andalon. She is a very caring and knowledgeable physical therapist. She devised a plan to strengthen my leg and core muscles, and I've seen great improvement in strength and mobility. It's given me greater confidence with surfing and other physical activities. I had been to other physical therapists, and usually the therapist spends 10-15 minutes with you and then hands you off to an assistant to do exercises that you could do in a gym on your own. When I'm at LEVEL4, I'm the only client working with Dr. Dawn, and she is with me the entire 1-hour session. She varied the sessions, even having me use a Pilates reformer for several exercises. The clinic is very clean and spacious, with lots of different equipment. I haven't worked with Dr. Dawn's husband Oscar, but he's always been very friendly and professional. They are a great team and I can't recommend LEVEL4 highly enough. Even though it was about a 24 mile drive each way from Rancho Bernardo, I was happy to drive that far to get such excellent treatment. read more
