I visited this weekend with ClassPass and loved the workout! It was a tough workout, and there were times that I just had to take a break, but I love the flow of the class and felt that I was challenged at an appropriate level. The studio was clean, well maintained, and roomy. I felt the people working there were happy to be there, and sharing Pilates with you. I left feeling sore and so proud of the workout accomplished. The class covered every muscle group, and I felt it was a great use of time for a good overall workout. I'll be back! read more

Tried my first class yesterday and Erin was great! I haven't done a lot of pilates in my life but a few friends told me this class has them stronger than they have ever been. I woke up sore in the right places today and I can't wait to go back tomorrow to see her again. Tried this studio awhile ago. I figured that it is closer for me compared to my usual studio located in Solana Beach. The machines are older than what I am used to. I don't enjoy the 50 minute workout because the workout wasn't even intense for me in 50 minutes. At my usual studio, 40 minutes leaves my muscles screaming for a rest. I love the Encinitas location and Courtney's classes! I am a Pilates newbie, but Courtney was clear and had just the right amount of challenge in the class; I also love her music selection and energy. The space is large and clean. I have tried classes at One Paseo, but feel as though the modified version of exercises are still too challenging for new clients. I really wanted to like Bodyrok and even went back for a second try just to make sure it wasn't an instructor flop... but after taking 2 classes here and feeling pretty invisible I'm not sure that I will return. I'm not exactly a beginner in either spin or Pilates, but in both classes no one explained sequences, helped me find the spin studio, said hello or goodbye, or really just acknowledged my existence in general. I ended up asking a fellow rider if I was in the right spot because no one was available to help. Anyway... it's a cool studio in a great location and the instructors have PHENOMENAL bodies. I really wanted to love it but it's not my jam! All good vibes and no hard feelings- I get running a business is hard and there's always room for improvement somewhere! read more

I give it a 2 because it made me sweat. The death metal at volume 11 was piercing and unbearable. After 30 minutes of deafening garbage music that had no beat, just screeching, I had to throw in the towel and leave. Listening to the music turned out to be far harder than the actual workout. If you're a malnourished suburbia mom with pre-existing hearing problems, this place may be for you. read more

I've had the pleasure of taking classes at BR for 10 years and this place does not disappoint. There's an excellent and committed mix of instructors that encourage you to push yourself, modify if necessary and enjoy the process. Some of my personal faves are Christina, Sammi, Megan, Daniela, Caitlin, Bianca, Carla and Tessa. The workout is intense and always different. Do yourself a favor and check them out!! read more

I have only been here once so far on Class Pass but had such a great time. I love they don't hassle you to wear those sticky socks or buy them at the desk. Our teacher was super cool, their was one lady next to me, I think she must have taught there to that was VERY helpful. lol. She didn't let up on telling me to go slower, or to fix my Reformer, or to hand me a balance pole if she thought I needed it. Kind, a bit intrusive but I appreciated it. The ladies in class were very nice and everyone concentrated on doing their own thing which I liked. Cool music. Clean studio. We will be back. Very ab focused obviously doing Pilates. read more

So I've been a huge supporter of BodyRok Encinitas for YEARS now, whenever I visit my family home around the holidays and throughout the year. I am APPALLED at the customer service and way of handling their loyal customers who have helped keep them afloat during this horrible year. I bought a class pack only to find out that I couldn't sign up for any classes as most were booked throughout the week so I signed up for two waitlist classes. I fell VIOLENTLY ill on Christmas Eve and could barely see straight for two days, couldn't get out of bed, couldn't even keep fluids down and to be honest didn't know if it even could have been COVID. Apparently, I received an email (not a text) saying I was moved off of the waitlist which I clearly was not checking while I was sick in bed. The owner, Stephanie, refused to refund my account and also refused to refund the other remaining classes I haven't used, as I do not want to return back to this studio given the treatment for this current situation. I have never had a waitlisted pilates class where they don't text you and ask if you if you can still make it or not, in which case I would have replied NO. Super super disappointed with the way this studio handled stuff, to be honest, the Del Mar studio is nicer and teachers are better anyways- I would go there or do Elevate in Del Mar! I will not ever be supporting this business again, truly unfortunate as it's the only studio near where my family lives in Encinitas. read more

Hands down Bodyrok Carlsbad is a five star establishment. Just DO IT. Wow. I've only bothered to write a review on Yelp if the customer service and experience was awful....so that others may be able to make informed decisions prior to visiting said establishment. I have nothing negative to say about Bodyrok Carlsbad. After having to switch from the Solana Beach location I was weary...as that experience, customer service wise, was beyond horrible. But Bodyrok Carlsbad has been so welcoming, wonderful and an overall joy to join. The exercise to me...feels like a hardcore Crossfit version of Pilates with crazy mega former machines that may seem a little like torture at first...and yet with each class..your mind, body and confidence are reshaped and transformed in ways you'd never imagine possible. The high energy .... Encouraging push of the upbeat and positive instructors give you the strength to excel beyond what you ever dreamed you could accomplish. Two ABSOLUTE FAVE instructors are Kevin and Corrin. I'm sure the rest are amazing as well and I can't wait to take from the other instructors as well. The studio is spotless and beautiful. The timely manner in which your concerns, questions or feedback are addressed seems to occur in lightening speed. And you walk out of class feeling like you are a badass, ready to take on anything thrown your way. As a little background...I have had knee surgeries and other physical limitations...but that's all good here. They give you modifications that give you the same intense burn and results. Bodyrok has helped me drop 30lbs and has changed my 36 yr old body entirely. When I first started..I was nearly 180.... 5'7'' and thought I'd never make it through one class, let alone go back 4x a week since December. So even if you think it isn't for you...you aren't giving yourself enough credit. You are strong and capable and the instructors are there to guide you every step of the way. You'll never regret checking it out. I strongly encourage a few tries...and I'm sure you'll be hooked. I found this place on ClassPass. I've never done a pilates class (unless mat classes count). I'd never touched a Reformer before. Parking is easy. I came 10 minutes early to the class, signed a waiver, and the greeter showed me around the gym. You walk into the pilates studio. In the back behind another door is the spin studio and a restroom. They have cubbies in the front and back of the pilates studio. The instructor introduced herself (shout out to Maggie!) before the class and showed me the basics of the machine without overwhelming me. You can tell people who come here are dedicated and do this work out all the time. A woman from the class before gave me some encouragement and confidence before the class even began, which was so nice and unexpected. I am an active yoga and HIIT person, but the Sculpt class gave me a great workout. The movements are slow, but pack a punch! Maggie did a great job with the cues, so you could just listen to her instructions and focus on your body. It's only a 40 min workout, but I felt my core quivering by the end. She offered modifications throughout, which I appreciated as a newbie. I have a long way to go to get the form and stamina down, but I'll definitely be back! read more

If you're looking for a workout that will always keep you challenged, is fun and the best part--is efficient (i.e. don't have to spend hours at the gym) then BodyRok is it! Their instructors are all awesome with their own teaching style (but they all share the common theme of kicking your butt :) You can choose from the pilates SPX classes and spin classes (I like to mix it up during the week). The facility is very clean, modern and nice--with nice touches like towels, lockers and cold water (especially appreciated after those spin classes). Nice location too--in the Forum Shops in case you need to get your shopping on. After doing BodyRok for about 2 months, I've noticed my body becoming stronger, more toned and I think the most important part heh, is my usually unobservant husband has noticed a difference:) read more

Friendly, helpful instructors run a fast-paced, high energy class. The classes are 40 mins and each move is only done for a minute, so there's no holding out, no day dreaming, just complete focus and full effort for 40 minutes. Probably the trickiest part is finding childcare, but that's what the escalators are for, right? read more

**I've been to BodyRok in both Carlsbad, CA and San Francisco, CA and they're both phenomenal workouts** Is there a way to give Sculpt 12 stars? It's THAT amazing. I work out a ton: distance running, hiking, yoga, Bikram, Pure Barre, etc. and love every activity I do, but Sculpt Pilates Plus is definitely my favorite of the bunch. In 40 minutes, you'll feel mental refreshed and physically depleted - but in a great way. The routine is difficult, but you don't need a Pilates background to get started. The music is upbeat, the instructors are super motivating and you'll never been bored. The best part: you'll never do the same class twice, which prevents you from plateauing (my greatest issue with most routines). The craziest part - I'm already in good shape, but have already lost 0.5 inches in my waist alone - which was already flat to begin with. I've also noticed slimming in my thighs and my endurance has increased a ton during my 10+ mile runs. Whether you're a newbie or a workout veteran, give it a shot. You will NOT regret it. read more

I absolutely love BodyRok!! I have tried many workout classes in the past, but I would have to say this one has literally changed my life. The classes are only about 40-50 minutes and are definitely challenging. I've only been taking classes for a little over 2 weeks, and I feel and see results already. The instructors at the studio are amazing. They inspire you to never give up no matter how challenging it may be. They make sure your form is correct at all times, and are willing to give you personal assistance throughout the workout. No matter where your fitness level is, the instructor will give you a modification that you are comfortable with that will allow you to push yourself to the your limit. read more

I am definitely a BodyRok lover! After 1 class I was hooked, after 1 month I began to see some major changes in my body that I loved, after 3 months there is no turning back! The classes are fun and challenging, and they are only 40-50 minutes! I typically attend classes in San Francisco, but was down south last weekend and checked out the Carlsbad location. It did not disappoint! Ashley was a great instructor, even with 4 new people in the class, we were all engaged and felt the burn! All weekend my girlfriends, who frequently attend Barry's Bootcamp, Spin, etc were buzzing about BodyRok and how much they loved it! The classes are fast paced, there are always new moves, routines, and music, so you never get bored. One thing that is really different about BodyRok, compared to other group classes is the class size of 12 or less. I feel like everyone gets personal attention and it is so much better than taking a class at a gym where they might be full when you show up, or you could be butchering the moves the entire time without anyone to guide you. I love all of the classes, but the Sculpt & Cycle is definitely my favorite. I think it is a great way for a first timer to see if this type of workout is right for you. I have to say am not the most athletic person, and hadn't worked out in over year, so I was a bit unsure of starting up Pilates. It has now been 3 months and I am still going, I love the trainers at Bodyrok. There are people of all levels in the class, and most of the trainers are very accommodating to us beginners. They explain the move, and suggest modifications for people if they are unable to do the full move. I am going 4-5 times a week, and every class is different, so I don't get bored. I have done BodyRok a few times now and I am ABSOLUTELY HOOKED! This is definitely one of the best workout classes I have ever taken. Yes, that sounds like a pretty bold statement, huh? This is coming from someone who has tried her share of workout classes in the bay area including Bar Method, The Daily Method, Bikram Yoga, etc. This class has definitely been the most challenging, and you WILL DEFINITELY see results in just a few sessions! I don't think I've ever sweat or worked that hard in only 40 minutes for the full body sculpting experience and 50 minutes for the sculpt and cycle experience. I left feeling refreshed, energized, exhausted and empowered. I've never taken any kind of reformer class before but my best friend swears up and down about these reformer machines and I finally get it. The machines use springs and body weight to create tension and help you strengthen every muscle in your body. Let me tell you....YOU WILL FEEL IT!!! I ended up signing a one month unlimited class special after the first class and will continue my practice here. I love that the classes are different and hit on each part of your body. The tiniest movements feel like it's burning your entire body. The instructors/owners Tina and Jake are super motivating and have great music to go with every class. As I missed Ashley. I've now begun again in Carlsbad Studio. Have met the Most INCREDIBLE INSTRUCTOR / Corrine. This young, talented woman has not only gotten me HOOKED once again, Corrine has gotten my very busy Sister HOOKED as well. If it weren't for the owner, this place would be 5 stars. The instructors are all great, but the owner, Stephanie, is greedy and will steal your money. Over the time my daughter spent at this studio, there were several instances where she attended class, but the instructor forgot to mark her as attending and she was subsequently charged $20 as a no show on each occasion. She emailed Stephanie several times letting her know she was in fact in class and that she could verify with the instructor personally, but Stephanie refused to respond and collected nearly $200 based on these instances alone. For anyone who is currently signed up or thinking of signing up, i would tread lightly with providing your credit card information. The owner, while nice to your face, is greedy and will steal from you. read more

Here is my 6 month update, I've lost 18lbs and I've gained lean muscle. I'm finally starting to see my Abs which I never thought I would see again! I could not be happier, I feel stronger, leaner, and more athletic. I ended up buying the 4 month unlimited since I'm there 5-6 days a week, I switch it up with cycle and Pilates classes. It look me a few months to get used to the classes, I was out of shape and the classes were so intense I always felt like giving up. However I kept pushing myself and the instructors all helped motivate me to get through it. All the instructors rock, love taking Cailtlin's, Megan, Jordan's, Blair, Both Kelly's, Kristine their Pilates classes are AMAZING. They play awesome music and make the class go by super fast. For cycling I always take Dana and Zach's classes, seriously so much fun. They actually make cardio fun- who would of of thought I love cardio now! Also, they have a mixed cycle and Pilates class- which is a nice 25 minutes of both. I am a lifer now!! read more

This was my first workout class post c section and being that the class was labeled open level I arrived 10 min early and let the instructor know it was my first time, that I was nervous I etc- I was hoping maybe they'd show me a couple things so I could adjust the machine and have a general idea of what I was doing. No such luck, even when I asked she just adjusted something quickly and was on her way. I equated the overall vibe to not valuing new comers and unfriendly. Definitely not the place to be if you're unfamiliar with reformer machines and not open level. I was hoping maybe someone would ask how I liked it before I left but nothing. I tried this place on a whim. They had a coupon on the front door for a free class. I did the spin sculpt class and really liked it. It is a really hard workout but it goes by fast. Then I bought the 2 classes for $30.. Now I'm in for $99 for one month. I really am seeing changes in my waistline and tummy, my jeans are fitting better and my husband has noticed too.I'll probably buy the 20 class package when this is done and try to go 2 times per week. It's expensive but the classes are small and intense so you get what you showed up for ..results! read more

Pilates is such a great workout for anyone who wants to get toned, shead some pounds or just be more active. BodyRok is great because they provide a clean & modern atmosphere, a good variety (spin & Pilates!), and challenging workouts. Bodyrok is a great workout for strengthening your core muscles and definitely helps with my lower back issues. The instructors are great at recognizing when people need posture adjustments while keeping the class moving along. It's a spacious and clean facility. I recommend you sign up at least 5 days in advance for some popular classes weekend morning classes because they fill up quickly. My only issue is sometimes the hip hop music is a little too loud (for this 46 year old guy). #TwoThumbsUp read more
