Had so much fun learning fun choreography in this red room studio. Definitely a great spot to go with friends to learn new dances or just by yourself for a fun workout. They have a deal for 2 classes for $25 and it's definitely worth it! I went to the heels class and beginner dance class. Would love to come back and try out their dance cardio class sometime. The teachers were so sweet and so willing to answer questions and go through the dance moves for beginner students. Came to Madhouse to celebrate bday with friends, this dance studio has this underground pink moody vibe. Sidney was like a powerhouse, the choreography was full of energy and right amount of spice . I purchased the intro deal as a first-timer and was really excited to try out two classes, however very minimal instruction was given. In the second class I took, which was Redroom Beginner Choreography the instructor took it from 0 to 100 too fast with a shoulder roll with no neck or shoulder warm up. The instructors also failed to tell us to tuck our neck in until after everyone gave it a try. Due to this negligence I rolled over and cracked my neck in so many different places. My neck and shoulder are bruised and in pain. I sadly cannot recommend anyone to dance at Madhouse having experienced instructional negligence that led to injury. read more

I'd give this place 10 stars if I could!! I took dance as a child and I've always liked to shake my booty at the bars... and now I've found my sanctuary!!! The teachers are AMAZING - shout out Nia and Sidney - and everyone in class makes you feel so welcome and free to let loose. I was so nervous at first but that melted away as soon as I stepped foot inside the studio. They offer a variety of classes like dance cardio and redroom heels and I think yoga too! I've only tried dance cardio but I want to do them all. HIGHLY recommend coming here if you want a FUN time, I don't even think of it as a workout (although you will sweat your a$$ off)!! read more

I was really excited to dance here with my friend, but I was disappointed with how poorly the classes were run. I bought two classes for $30 and used them both. The first class I accidentally took a cardio-focused class. The instructor gave very little guidance on any of the moves and jumped right in without a proper warm-up. I did get a decent sweat in for a 50 minute class. The second class I booked I made sure to go to a choreo class where there was supposed to be more instruction. Sadly the same issues occurred, no warm-up, little help from the instructor. What was an even bigger issue is that the instructor did not know how to correctly do a shoulder roll. Luckily I was familiar with them so I could show my friend how to do them properly. However my friend still accidentally bruised her neck because she didn't have any instruction. Since I did not stretch before the class the move was still difficult for me. My last note might just be a pet peeve, but you should always ask before filming someone. In this class people were filming without asking for consent or notifying the other dancers beforehand. To me, that's just unprofessional and the instructor should've intervened. They have no filming signs, but I guess those are just for decoration. I would not recommend going here, especially if you're looking to get better at dancing or if you are at risk of injury. Madhouse, please fix this! read more

I am OBSESSED. I have never had so much fun dancing in my entire life. I have taken the twerk & tone, beginner/intermediate choreo, dance cardio, redroom yoga, and redroom dance cardio. So far have loved every single instructor. Becca, Sydney, Katie, Emily and Olivia are SO FUN. Becca - I took my first dance cardio class with her, and she's seriously the best! Her choreography is super on-trend, and she mixes it up with all kinds of music--hip-hop, dance, pop, Caribbean. It's always a blast, and I can't help but move. Her energy is perfect. I always leave her classes feeling totally wiped out, but in the best way. Kira - OMG, that girl's lines and how she uses her body to create pure art is just mind-blowing. She is such an inspiration. Her dance cardio and choreography classes are perfectly challenging, Sexy, and always an amazing workout. She also has such a hyper, silly, and fun energy each class that I love. Emily S. - Such a sweetheart and the best teacher! She's so chill and explains everything so well. Her choreography is all about fun and flirty vibes, no stress. I'm all about her classes when I just wanna enjoy myself! Maddy- There's something about her classes that ignites this fire in me and everyone else. I cannot say enough good things about Madhouse! I took my first class at the Mission Bay studio with a friend who was going through a rough breakup. We thought it would be a silly and empowering thing for her to do, which it was, but it was also so much more! It was a great workout and it was so much FUN! It's hard not to have a great time when you're dancing in a dimly lit room under a disco ball to loud music. I was so happy when the Encinitas location finally opened. It's super centrally located on El Camino where all the errand places are. The studio itself is so cute, spacious, clean, and just generally really welcoming. It is also one of few studios in Encinitas with 8pm class times, which I really appreciate as life is less likely to get in the way of later class times! The teachers are all amazing. Sidney is the cutest person ever. She has so much energy and is hilarious - I always leave her class in a better mood than I came in. Kira is an absolutely incredible teacher. I love that she incorporates faster pacing and more challenging moves but makes it feel so accessible and gives everyone the confidence to try. Emily is so so sweet - I love her motivational speeches each class, and I love her choreo, especially to faster songs. Olivia's classes (whether it is choreo, twerk n tone or something else) are so fun and upbeat. Her passion and happiness is infectious. Billie and Emily at the front desk are also the best most welcoming people ever and get you in the right vibe from the minute you walk in the door! The classes, the studio itself and the teachers are all truly so great, but I think the best thing about madhouse is the community. If I'm having my a bad day, then to Madhouse I need to go since it's a special kind of therapy. The instructors make the class even better! Not only do I love their choreo, but they are your hype girls. I have taken classes at this location from Emily S, Maddie, Sydney, Olivia, Neira, and Kira. Each instructor has their own fun personality and makes each class so different, fun, and challenging. I typically do the choreography based classes. I'm so grateful for this studio. This studio has an amazing culture and is filled with so many wonderful people. I have met so many new friends and everyone is so supportive.
