I have called my credit card company to block this merchant and dispute this charge; as the studio does NOT reply back to their emails unless you are a new student or enrolling. Not a happy camper!

The first day she basically just stood on a spot and then fell over and I assumed that she wouldn't want to come back but as we left she exclaimed, "I loved it! When can we come again?" By week 2, Ms. Andrea had her stretching and jumping and learning new moves and we watched as each week she did grow more coordinated and confident. We took some time off due to a schedule change but are back a few years later and we've appreciated seeing the way their instruction strategies grow with the age/development of the child. We've worked with Ms. Andrea both times and she is warm and engaging and teaches the kids both the real dance terms and kid-friendly catchy ways of remembering how to perform them. If you are looking for a very formal dance studio with uniform pink leotards, Dance to Evolve is not for you, the dress code is very flexible and it's held at the rec center, which works perfectly for us because our daughter lives it, it's convenient for us, and our other child gets to play on the playground while her sister dances.

She also teaches ballet for small kids there and I got to know this location as she invited the gym friends for her inaugural class. It was easy to find parking. The dancing room is very spacious, with great natural light and good acoustics without bothering other classes at other rooms. My DD is in her pre-professional era, and we drive 25 min daily to her classes, 6 days a week. We transitioned here in middle school from her local studio. The directors teach all the levels so that proper foundational technique permeates through all levels. Husband trained at the same academy as Baryshnikov, and is a retired NYCB dancer. Wife trained at Academie de Princesse Grace ( Monaco), and also had a lauded professional ballet career. They have taught over 20 years. The class sizes are small, instruction is very attentive. Many body types succeed here, and teachers' approach is anatomy informed. Class time can run over allowing more time as needed to achieve goal/lesson of the day. The students perform an annual Nutcracker, and a full length classical ballet in the Spring ( rotation of Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Cinderella, and La Bayadere). Competitions are optional ( we dont plan any), and all students are welcome to schedule privates. Many students audition and are accepted into "3 letter" prestigious summer intensives. In the last 2 years, Every student who auditioned for San Francisco Ballet summer was accepted, one student got a year round scholarship to the Boston Ballet. One will attend Joffrey (Chicago) in the Fall and another recently moved to Ballet West. The instructors teach with passion, dedication to each student ( irrespective of career or recreational intent), and fidelity to the art form. They are calm and conscientious. Former professional ballet dancers send their children here. My daughter is very proud of her growth here as a strong and beautiful dancer!

Sara and Erlends are true professionals, completely dedicated to teaching their students with the highest standards and devotion. The annual Nutcracker and spring performances (La Bayadere, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake) are cherished traditions. Many dancers also compete, and have gone on to dance in leading companies, or in college. The overall ambiance and energy of the entire studio is serious, yet incredibly supportive and joyous. We are so lucky to have Ballet Arte ~ we absolutely love this studio.

Now we joined our friends at "love to dance". we just started mid year after they hosted one of our girl scout troop meetings (what a great idea for a meeting!) almost like a yelp event =) my daughter resisted strongly when i enrolled her ...but she is loving it!!! the staff and Mindy (owner) are super friendly and helpful...they remember each and every person they meet. That shows me how much they care about the students here. I hope that my daughter continues to take classes here and be comfortable in multiple forms of dance. While my goal is not for my daughter to be a pro dancer...they definitely are pumping some of those out of here too!
