I love these workouts. I feel that I am getting stronger, and I feel great when I leave. I enjoy the challenge in exercises and I feel like I'm reaching muscles that are deep down. I gave it three stars for two reasons. First, it is totally expensive and you don't get the individual attention that you should at this price. Secondly, I have not seen the same results everyone is bragging about. I had a woman tell me after class that she started to see significant changes in her waist after 10 classes. I'm up to 30 and have had very little outward changes. Once I've used up my classes I'm done unless something changes. read more

Bodyrok Carlsbad has to be my biggest life saver! I don't have one complaint about this work out. I have tried everything from the boring gym, to Yoga to the Barre Method and Bodyrok has been the only workout that has actually made my see a radical changes in my body and has made me in better shape than anything else. The bonus about this work out...it's only 40 Minutes! When Bodyrock Carlsbad first opened the owners Jake and Tina made me feel so comfortable and taught me so well that they inspired me to come back. Plus, they have to be the sweetest people. When they left to open the SF studio I was so sad that my favorite instructors were leaving but got a pleasant surprise when Kevin started teaching! He has to be one of the best instructors I have ever had! Every class is so different and he pushes you to extremes you didn't even know your body could do. From his up beat personality, to the best play list you will never leave his class sad or feeling like you didn't have the best work out. I seriously don't think I have had one bad instructor since I have started here and I have been coming for about 9 months. This studio is for anyone out there! Not only do you get an butt kicking work out with Sculpt Pilates but they have amazing spin classes or a combo of Spin/Sculpt. When I was constantly doing yoga or the barre method I always felt like I was missing something because I didn't get enough cardio and now I can come to Bodyrok and get a two in one work out. No matter how much you come per week or how many months you have been a member your body will always feel like it is getting a full work out and you will never feel like you are doing the same thing over and over. Bodyrok is a great workout for strengthening your core muscles and definitely helps with my lower back issues. The instructors are great at recognizing when people need posture adjustments while keeping the class moving along. It's a spacious and clean facility. I recommend you sign up at least 5 days in advance for some popular classes weekend morning classes because they fill up quickly. My only issue is sometimes the hip hop music is a little too loud (for this 46 year old guy). #TwoThumbsUp read more

Lets put it this way.. I was very skeptical and went because of my wife. Now that I have been there for 4-5 months now I wouldn't think of leaving. I personally like Kim with her sculpt and cycle class, Zach with his power cycle class and Stephanie with her sculpt/reformer class. Very, very intense and well worth it. read more

I went to Bodyrok for Pilates expecting it to be a typical Pilates class, lots of stretching, still challenging but not super high intensity...boy was I wrong about Pilates about Bodyrok! The class should be called Cardio Pilates because you don't stop moving the whole time! It was one of the best full body workouts I've ever had, exhausted after class, was sore for a full week after and the best part, it went by SO fast (because really, who loves a class that seems to drag on forever? Uh NOT this girl!) If I lived closer Bodyrok would be a staple in my weekly work out routine...Please open one in Newport/Costa Mesa area!! read more

I have been working out here for 8 months now and all I can say is WOW! Love this place. I get an awesome workout and the class is fun! All of the instructors are really friendly and knowledgable. The normal class time is 40 mins so it's perfect for a busy schedule. They also have great class times. Morning, afternoon and evening are available. My core has never been stronger and I still find the class a challenge. My husband and I decided to try Bodyrok one day because we arrived too early for barre class (yes, I was dragging my husband to a barre class lol) We were HOOKED and bought unlimited monthly memberships after that one class. We love it cause we can work out together and get an amazing workout, in the same class. The best part, is that your going at your own pace. There's no teacher shouting counts at you over a mic while your trying to keep up with THEIR pace. The 40 minute workout goes by quick and and workout's are so fluid, you don't really ever feel overworked or (the worst) bored! The teacher's are all welcoming, and I've never felt any judgment by any of the teachers, students, or owner. Men, women, big, small, strong, weak (very weak..me lol) it's an awesome workout for anyone. read more

This is by far my favorite workout. Most of the workouts are only 40 minutes and yet I feel like I put in double that, so it's a great time saver. I have done a lot of types of exercise- yoga, zumba, dance, bootcamps, and traditional pilates and I've gotten stronger and leaner from this workout more than any other. Highly recommend! The staff is also great- no matter who is teaching you'll get a good workout, plus the studio is beautifully maintained. This is a great studio. Before I moved here, I was taking megaformer classes in Santa Barbara and also from the creator of the machines. I have to say these teachers are awesome, and they all have a unique teaching style. They've also added TRX and spinning which provides a nice variety. If you are looking for an effective workout that will actually change your body - this is it!! The sculpt classes are the hardest workouts I have ever done and they work! I started coming to BodyRok on Class Pass, but realized quickly these workouts were far more effective than anywhere else I was going. I started buying passes (which you can buy in bulk at a great rate), but have been so happy with the progress that I now do unlimited classes. i have no regrets getting into this workout. for a great core workout that has the added option of some serious cardio in the spin room you cant beat it. no boredom here as every workout is different and time flies in there. like any workout what you get out of it directly relates to the effort you put in and i am stoked with my results. being an avid golfer i have improved my balance through my swing via my newly discovered core strength and i am loving it! read more

Love Love Love BodyRok! I have been attending classes for almost a year...needless to say I am addicted! After the first three classes I started to see results. It is the perfect workout for people who want a longer leaner look. The instructors are amazing, as I have attended classes in other states and haven't found any that compare. I just visited the BodyRok studio in Encinitas. IT WAS INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING. The studio is *obviously* unfinished. It was raining and there was a leak onto one of the reformers. Their spin room is still under construction. I signed up for a Spin and Sculpt class via ClassPass and was told when I got there that it would be Sculpt only. The girl at the desk was beyond dumb and was not welcoming in the slightest. She didn't even know how to give me access to the liability waiver. Plus, their water bottle refill station is in their laundry room...next to their bathroom. Loved all the sheetrock in the hallway too - such a nice touch! The studio itself is cold and bland. I hope you like concrete and gray! The floors are painted...two different shaped of gray - it is obvious, practically a clear line down the studio. The layout of the space also makes zero sense. A good 1/6 of the floor space is for a receptionist desk. Then the instructor was LATE for the class. I took a look around and between the state of the studio and the fact that the class I signed up for on ClassPass was not what they would be offerring...I left! DO NOT RECOMMEND. WILL NOT RETURN. read more

Tried to go with a ClassPass membership, and they are still listed in being in Carlsbad, so I woke up for a very early morning workout and arrived to an empty studio with a sign on the door that said they moved. Called the number listed on the sign and it was disconnected. Very disappointing and I ended up waking up for nothing! read more

This place is awesome! If you are a runner this workout is perfect for you. Low/no impact on joints, lots of core and balancing. You will seriously be sore in places you never thought you could be sore in after just one class. They have a 10 reformer machines so plan out your classes for the week. Oh my goodness!! I have never taken Pilates before, this class kicked my butt!! I think of myself as a fairly fit/strong person...so what I have taken from this class is that there is "strong" and there is "pilates strong". The instructor, I believe Corinn, was so patient with me learning all of the new positions and the energy in the room was great! I would definitely go back and take another class. read more

I may be the only one who isn't a fan but here's why: (1) I've been taking Pilates classes on the reformer for years. I was expecting this to be some sort of Power Pilates class. I think another reviewer wrote, "this is NOT Pilates but Cross Fit on a reformer", I couldn't agree more. This is NOT Pilates. (2) Some of the positions they do would actually be safer and likely more effective OFF the reformer - I keep waiting for someone to go into a plank and fall through the machine, getting tangled up in the springs. In a Pilates class, there's such an emphasis on body alignment and proper form - I never get hurt in a Pilates class. I leave Body Rok with severe shoulder & neck pain. This brings me to (3) The instructors don't cue proper form or body alignment. I see people contorted in all different positions and they aren't being corrected so I know I'm not the only one leaving with injuries. (4) The most annoying thing is being there when a spin class is going on as you can hear both the sculpt music and the spin music - two different songs, two different beats, at the same time. I have 2 kids who do this to me all day long, I don't need that kind of torture while working out. (5) I've found the instructors to be extremely inconsistent. One didn't leave me with any muscle burn or fatigue and the other did an entire class without doing any arm exercises, another without abs. (6) Lastly, being a mom, my workout time is limited. When I get a chance to workout, I like to do it for a full 60 minutes, here it's only a 40 minute workout which to me feels like I'm just getting started. I think you can get a better workout with a combination of real Pilates classes and running on your own. Save yourself the money. read more
