I saw Luke for my first two weeks of Physical therapy post ATFL surgery. I was greeted with professionalism and warmth the second I walked into the office. I received individual care from Luke for a full hour which is not common among Pt clinics. Luke gave me thorough manual, incredible soft tissue work, and exercises to build strength. He followed my Orthopedic surgeon's instructions and made sure I knew that I was supported and will improve over time. He even coordinated with the Solana Beach location to ensure that I received BFR even though they didn't offer it at the Enci location. Cannot rave about Rise enough. Thanks again Luke! read more

Luke is the BEST!!! I feel so grateful to have found Rise PT and Luke. I have a lot of issues, injuries and past surgeries. Luke has helped me heal, become more functional and maintain my level of functioning. I've been to many of the PT companies in San Diego and this is by far the best. Luke has an approach that is more holistic than other PT's I've been to. He addresses the underlying muscle knots before moving on the the exercises and stretching. I cannot say enough positive things about Diego and the entire support staff at RISE Physical Therapy in Encinitas. Diego worked patiently and competently to help me in my recovery and management of pain and instability associated with the long term effects of neuropathy associated with a ruptured disk in my lumbar spine. The combination of massage and pressure techniques and carefully considered exercises has given me improved stability and function as well as greater overall comfort. He listened and was attentive throughout the process, adapting as necessary for my stage of recovery. I injured my shoulder snowboarding a year ago, and I finally decided to do something about it. I was dealing with instability in my shoulder - along with a reduction in my overall range of motion. I'm currently working with Rodger at RISE in Encinitas. It's been about a month, and it's absolutely helping. The exercises are a mix of range of motion, and strength training - and we track progress each session. Rodger also provides post-visit emails with video recordings (to review new exercises, movements, etc). Their office is perfect, with all the equipment that you'd need. It's conveniently located on the south end of downtown (1st St / 101) Encinitas, and their is a ton of parking in their lot. I'd highly recommend Rodger and RISE. Go check them out! read more

I had an amazing experience at RISE with Diego! I came in with knee pain from skiing, and Diego quickly helped me identify the root of the problem, and formulated a series of stretches and exercises to help address and strengthen them. I really appreciated the time he took to also explain the biomechanics of the exercises, which helped me to clearly understand how everything worked together too. The sessions were a holistic combination of manual tissue work & exercises/stretches. I'm happy to say that my issues have been resolved, and Diego set me up with some post-discharge exercises to continue my strengthening. RISE PT is "THE" place to go for physical therapy. The PTs are extremely knowledge, creative, friendly and caring. They push just the right amount to get a person out of their comfort zone, but not too much where it hurts. The exercises are never boring. They even do "cupping", which is fantastic! The one-on-one dynamic is absolutely perfect! When I was there for my bi-weekly appointments, the PT concentrated on me 100% and was engaged. My PT always made me feel safe and comfortable. Rose is Amazing! I went in with both my knees a little out of whack and Rose spent many hours helping with stretching, strengthening and massaging my legs to get them on the path to pain free movement. She was great at explaining everything she did as she was doing it, as well as teaching me all about how my knees are connected to my hips and ankles, so it wasn't just the knees we needed to work on. I appreciated how patient Rose was with my questions. I'd definitely recommend her as a physical therapist!! read more

I recently started running for the first time. With no prior research on how to run correctly, I got shin splints. The pain was unbearable since I had a hard time walking up stairs. Roger was able to help me feel better with exercise and weekly treatments. After 3 weeks I'm able to return to recreational jogging and slowly getting back on track to train for a longer run. I worked with Luke for the last 2-3 months. Had 3 partial tears in my shoulder ranging from 20-30%. We worked together 1:1 each appointment that included soft tissue, stretching and finishing with strengthening. Surgery was on the table but have taken that option off. read more

I've never taken physical therapy very seriously until Royal really educated me on the importance of understanding how to make my body move better. I usually have a lot of lower back and knee pains and thought I could get by with some stretching and occasional working out, but it wasn't very effective because I didn't know what I was doing. When I started to work with Royal, he helped explain the mechanics and the why's of what I needed to do. From there I actually started to work out with a goal and purpose in mind and now I'm able to get through my work day with less pain! It's an understatement to say how professional, knowledgeable, and encouraging he is in helping me through my sessions! You can tell how much he genuinely cares about every one of his patients from how intentional he is. Luke at RISE is such an effective therapist! I saw him starting in December for an upper back injury and I am now completing my treatment feeling strong and mobile. Darren at Rise PT is both knowledgeable and professional and has been a PT for many years. Due to running 25 to 35 miles a week, I developed serious discomfort pain in my ankles and feet.
