Voodoo is consistent and has great selection. My favorite is no longer available but their other options made up for it. Fast and friendly service and a clean storefront.

Huge glazed doughnut... that is on a 7" plate

I am new to Eugene (Via Tampa, Fl)... and slowly checking out different places. I had to go downtown this morning , and decided to hit up Voodoo doughnuts while I was there. Very glad I did... great doughnuts. HUGE too... lol. I am told I need to try their Maple Bacon Bar... maybe next time!

There's no doubt that Voodoo Doughnut is popular, but are they good. Originally from Portland, this downtown Eugene location is quirky and small. There's nowhere to sit or use the restroom. Grab your doughnuts to go and enjoy. They have cake doughnuts, yeast ones, and even gluten-free doughnuts. The Chocolate Ring is excellent. The texture is so good, but the flavor is rich. One is more than enough for one person.

Ok, I'm still not the biggest fan of Voodoo. But my sister and I had to stop in because as we wandered the downtown area during the First Friday Artwalk (seem y review), we saw that they had a blueberry lemon fritter so of course we needed to try it. And it was delicious and worth the visit. Service was friendly and quick.

The Churro: Voodoo Doughnut has been on my list of gourmet doughnut shops to visit for years. I believe it now qualifies as a chain, but the original location was founded by Portlanders Kenneth "Cat Daddy" Pogson and Tres Shannon in 2003. I wanted to try more doughnuts than I had room in my stomach for, so I prioritized my selection based on what I thought was most exclusive to Voodoo Doughnut and my tastes. The Churro is an old-fashioned doughnut, which is a subset of cake doughnuts that have a cracked surface and are moister as they are fried at a lower temperature. They are sometimes referred to as buttermilk doughnuts or fry cakes. Voodoo has their version dusted in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with vanilla and caramel. It was plenty sweet thanks to the drizzles and cinnamon sugar. Cinnamon was the dominant flavor, and I had a hard time detecting the vanilla and caramel as they both just came through as a generic sweetness. Texturally it seemed a little dry and was crumbly. Definitely not a bad doughnut, but somewhat underwhelming as it's from a gourmet doughnut shop. Just okay This was a 3 star doughnut but 4 stars overall since the atmosphere was cool and the Banana Cream was a 5 star doughnut. Doughboy_Food_Reviews My top doughnut shops: 1. Donut Bar (San Diego) 2. Pinkbox Doughnuts (Las Vegas) 3. Everglazed (Disney Springs) 4. Cranky Al's (MKE) 5. Krispy Kreme (various locations in different states)

If you're near a voodoo you have to stop. Just the ambiance is worth it. It's hard to choose a favorite but I love the traditional voodoo donut.

This was the second best part of my trip to Eugene. I have always wanted to try Voodoo Doughnut and it did not disappoint! Delicious, fresh, and ample. The service was excellent, very friendly, informative and quick. I also enjoyed the music playing very much.

I've been here a couple of times and it's been great each time. Today I stopped by and grabbed half a dozen donuts for myself and my friends to snack on throughout the day. I got two banana cream pie donuts (they had a promotion going for Pi Day), one glazed, one blueberry lemon fritter, one raspberry Romeo, and one Portland cream. I had one of the banana cream pie donuts and it was so good. It tasted like that good banana flavoring and had a banana chip on top. I would definitely get it again. We haven't broken into any of the others yet but I'm sure they'll all be delicious. The store is tiny and gets crazy busy on weekends, especially when college parents are in down or when it's a holiday weekend. There were only two people ahead of me today so it was a quick visit. The person working the counter was quick and friendly and made good conversation while he was working. The store was as clean as any downtown store can be and was quiet. There is paid street parking pretty much everywhere downtown. It's not too expensive and if you're lucky you can get a meter that still has some time on it.

You definitely come here for the name not the quality of donuts. The design of this place is absolutely amazing and extremely memorable. However, the donuts were just subpar. My friends and I ended up getting quite a few to try, but the only one I truly liked and would get again was the Old Dirty Bastard. I really wanted a shirt or mug from here, but the prices are too ridiculous and didn't seem worth it for me. Not a place to frequent, but definitely one to check out at least once.

I have had Voodoo doughnuts a long time ago in Portland but have been wanting to try them again here in Eugene. I liked the assortment of flavors Voodoo offers. Definitely more unique and exciting than your typical doughnut shop. The blueberry cake doughnut was my favorite out of all the ones I got. I would recommend that one they do it nicely. The other two were good but not above average. I was expecting the frosting on the dashing pumpkin to be cream cheese but it tasted more like buttercream. The cake itself had nice flavor though. Buttermilk bars are my favorite and theirs was good but again nothing special. All three doughnuts were pretty petite which I was surprised about. I'm ok with that but was just expecting them to be a bit bigger. Prices were reasonable but definitely more expensive than a normal doughnut.

We came here for breakfast while staying in Eugene. This was my first time trying Voodoo and the donuts were pretty good, but not the best I've had. I went with the basic and got a chocolate cake and cinnamon sugar. Both were solid, but no different than any other donut place. Overall, it was a cool place and the line moved fast.

At this point, Voodoo is a PNW staple and it's wild I have not reviewed this business yet. I stopped in recently to get a single treat for myself and ended up walking away with a box FULL of donuts. I wanted to get their seasonal charity donut of the moment, the strawberry lemonade stand. I put in my order, paid for it, and then the cashier noticed that the only one left was the one in the display case. Usually, when this happens, the donut is given away for free. Since I already paid for it, he nicely asked if I wanted some free donuts. And who am I to say no to FREE DONUTS!? He then proceed to fill an ENTIRE box full of various donuts! huuuuuh? I immediately called my nieces in for reinforcements as there was no way I was going to eat all of these alone. We had a lovely time catching up while sharing this sugary selection. So thanks Voodoo! For the great service, great donuts, and inspiring an afternoon of fun family bonding.

If you are in Eugene this is one of the places you might want to try out because they are not you simple doughnuts. Crazy options. Service was great and if you look at my pictures you can practically taste them all with your eyes.

We got three banana fritters, a Boston crème, a plain cake, a glazed raised, a German chocolate, a raspberry chocolate, and a double chocolate cake. They were all amazing! This place really does know their donuts. They aren't oily or greasy at all. The lady who helped us worked quickly and was friendly. The store was about what you'd expect from a mom and pop hole in the wall - it wasn't super clean but it was fine since we were taking our donuts home anyway. They're open 24/7 but are located in a really shifty and unsafe area so I wouldn't recommend going at night. It felt fine going in the early afternoon though. All in all this was a great experience. I will definitely be back!

At 6 AM, the world is quiet, the streets are hushed, and one hopes--perhaps naïvely--that a warm pastry might offer a moment of comfort before the day's demands begin. Alas, my visit to Day Night Donuts proved instead a meditation on disappointment. The apple fritter, that noble staple of American morning indulgence, was presented to me not as a freshly glazed, still-steaming companion, but as a cold, listless relic. Not chilled by morning air, mind you--refrigerator cold. A confection that should have greeted me with warmth and softness instead yielded the disheartening bite of a pastry that felt, if not abandoned, then at least neglected. One is forced to wonder: Was this yesterday's fritter? The day before? The mystery lingers longer than the flavor. As for the "sandwich"--a Jimmy Dean croissant, unmistakably the frozen variety from Costco, accompanied by equally familiar pre-cooked Costco bacon--it delivered all the culinary excitement of an office break-room microwave. The croissant was serviceable in the way mass-produced goods often are: efficient, characterless, and unmistakably prefab. The bacon, however, was the true antagonist of the meal--rubbery, resistant, and determined to fight every bite. A duel between teeth and pork fat at sunrise is not an experience I recommend. It must be said: there is nothing inherently wrong with using Costco products. But one hopes--expects--desires--a donut shop to rise above the bare minimum. A place that opens at 6 AM should greet its patrons with warmth, both literal and figurative. Fresh pastries. Crisp bacon. Some sign of intention. Instead, my visit felt like intruding upon a place not yet awake, not yet ready, and perhaps not entirely concerned.
