Great service. She (hate that I didn't get her name) was very patient with me while I took time deciding what I wanted and made calls to complete other orders. Told her she can be creative on my doughnut and I was very pleased. I will be returning. Not only are the doughnuts good but the service was great.
I know, I know... why go to a Voodoo Doughnut location when I live in the Pacific Northwest and with out too much work get to a Voodoo Doughnuts location with relative ease. Why am I going to one in Austin? Well, it's because I am a completeist and I try to go to as many Voodoo Doughnut locations as I can. Austin has two locations but Steve was only willing to tolerate going to one location so we went here. The doughnuts are going to be about the same as any other location however I did come across one that I haven't seen before. I am not sure if it was limited edition or what but I liked it. It was kind of take on a Black Forest Cake but it wasn't cherries that were on top of the doughnut and cream. It was more like blueberries. It was good and I am glad I tried it! I was really hoping to see the Ring of Fire Doughnut as it's my favorite but I didn't see it here. I got more of a powdered doughnut too as I do like their more basic doughnuts too. Steve got something that almost was like a Dubai-esque Chocolate Doughnut. It had pistachios on it and was a chocolate cake. That one was good too! Atmosphere is weird and quirky like all of their locations try to be which I can appreciate. So if you are addicted to Voodoo Doughnuts or have been wanting to try them but don't plan any PNW trips then definitely swing by the Texas locations. More and more locations are popping up all of the time!
This location is awesome! Tons of seating and there is bathrooms for customers! I loved the cute flag and all the decorations. The tables were also very cool and the napkins were custom which is also very fun! The actual donuts are really good too! If you like maple bars then you will love the maple bar here! It is the perfect amount of maple and the actual donut! I do wish they had a water station, but other than that this place is a fun visit!
Voodoo Doughnuts is known for their crazy doughnuts with toppings. They have a lot of options. We got the cinnamon sugar cake and dirt doughnuts. We wanted to get the old dirty bastard, but they were apparently out on a Sunday morning. I thought the cinnamon doughnut would be good, but it was not. It was dry and didn't have a good flavour. The dirt doughnut had generic Oreo pieces on it, and it was okay. I felt like the doughnuts looked better than they tasted, but it was still a good experience to go to their 6th street location. They are open extended hours.
White Cream is a necessity. Unavailable. Ugh. I went way early in the morning. All the donuts were fresh and moist. The Glazed Yeast (The Prime Donut)......... if a donut maker can't do glazed, you might as well forget about the rest. Fantastic. Perfect. The glaze that flakes though moist and a donut that slightly squishes, pops slightly back and has that perfect texture....... And yes Flavor! Perfect Glazed. Well done. A good size and not a weak donut. I did a fancy chocolate cake donut of the Butterfinger kind. A fantastic blend of a good chocolate cake and the touch of peanut from the crisp. A good combo of about 50/50 share of flavor. Focusing on the cake donut resulted in a favorable chocolate cake donut. Freshness is key. Lastly was a buttermilk bar. Good, just good. I know where to get great. You'll have to read my other donut posts to find out where. Just good. Glaze could improve and the complete cool through would be helpful. The dough was alright, not bad. Good ingredients and a nice flavor. On a level of poor, fair, good to great........ Good.
Loved the donut selection at this iconic place Staff were great Super cute trendy pink decor A little overpriced in my opinion If you have kids - watch out for the "sexy shaped" donuts!! A must stop in Austin
I forgot to check in, but see photo for proof we actually got donuts! We actually didn't finish all of them because we picked them up right before dinner. There was a blueberry donut, a mango filling one, banana, these flavors stood out and was what I remember to be good. I'm usually a plain glazed donut or maybe an old fashioned donut kinda person. But these were pretty good for a change, and the donut itself is also good by itself. Many of the fancy donuts I've had, the donut itself can be dry and texture or taste isn't great on its own. This spot deserves the good ratings.
If you are in the mood for a late night indulgent snack, Voodoo Doughnuts is the place to go. Was hitting Voodoo donuts up after a night of music on dirty 6th, and they offer more than 40 artisan flavor options, including over 10 vegan options. The doughnut shop has a New Orleans French Quarter vibe very dark and mysterious. I had to get the apple fritter fried dough with apple chunks and cinnamon and topped with glaze. It was monstrous and big enough to share. They had a variety of other flavors we tried like blueberry cake with glaze and the sprinkle cake plain cake doughnut with vanilla frosting and colorful sprinkles. Great for a late night sugar rush!
Voodoo Doughnut in Austin is exactly what you'd expect from a place that serves over-the-top, sugar-loaded treats right in the middle of a buzzing nightlife scene. When I visited, the area was absolutely packed with people heading to and from the bars, which made the experience a little chaotic but also kind of entertaining. It is definitely not a quiet stop, but if you can handle the crowd, the doughnuts are totally worth it. The selection is wild in the best way. From cereal-topped creations to classic glazed, everything feels a little extra and a lot of fun. The staff kept things moving quickly despite the crowd, and I walked away with a box full of sweet, overindulgent happiness. If you're downtown and in the mood for something fun and delicious, this place delivers. Just be ready for a bit of a scene.
Spacious late night donut shop on 6th Street, with lots of pink all around. We tried the Dirt and the Homer donuts. It's hard to eat a cold donut and enjoy it. Wish they could warm the donuts up slightly but alas not possible, yet. Staff were kind, served us quickly. Nice place to throw a donut party.
Really good donuts -- great variety. The place is spacious but gets interesting traffic lol. Had gotten VD before in Miami, good stuff!
My first time visiting the Austin location, but I've been to the Portland, Oregon spot a few times. The vibe here still has that same fun and quirky energy that makes VooDoo Doughnut stand out. I tried the Pop Tart donut with the strawberry filling and it was really good. The donut was fresh and the strawberry center added the right touch. This place is really good especially if you want a sweet treat after dinner.. So many options to pick from. Great service.. Quick and easy! I will be back.
Very fun & inviting atmosphere. I was on a layover in the city and decided to stop by to taste a few donuts. I got a variety of flavors that the cashier picked out for me. They were very filling and thick donuts. They come cold of course. My favorite would have had to be the blueberry cake.

Definitely a long line but it went by pretty quick. Donuts were indulgent. Definitely couldn't eat more than 1 by yourself. The store had a cool pink pink vibe which feels right because it's on sixth. read more

Voodoo Doughnut is worth a visit, but not my favorite donut spot. We came here on a Saturday night and there wasn't much of a wait. We ended up with the original donut since that's always my first pick when visiting something new. While the donut was good, I've been spoiled by amazing donuts in LA so I wasn't as impressed. I thought that having such a large venue was nice and there was plenty of seating for everyone. While I've seen the other reviews regarding rude staff, I didn't personally think there was an issue. The location was CASH ONLY. read more
Voodoo Doughnut was a must-try on our list when we were planning our vacation. The line is always out the door and the wait was very long. Not to mention it was super hot in this place (doors are always open) and their lack of AC does not help in this Texas weather. But we were very excited and eager to try since it's so popular. They're a CASH ONLY establishment so bring cash or use the ATM near the front of the store. Donuts are on average $2-4 depending on which ones you get. My boyfriend and I got the Voodoo Doll (their signature donut), Sprinkle Cake, and Butterfingering. I'm glad that the donuts weren't that pricey because boy were they let-downs. It was 12:30 am and we were drinking so the fact that they were bad also added to our disappointment. The donuts tasted like the texture of a powdered sugar donut that you get in grocery stores and the icing tasted like Walmart chocolate icing. Their most popular one, the Voodoo, was smothered after they threw it in the bag. So we couldn't even see the doll image or take a picture of it. It was basically black icing on a donut. On top of all that, we got our change in coins. Overall, this place is not worth the hype. If you want the experience, $2 donuts is not that bad. But we've definitely had better donuts for less. We'll probably never be back even if we're drunk or hungover. Totally not worth the time spent in line. DONUT come here hungry or with high expectations or you'll be disappointed.. read more

This place is over hyped. They have a lot of interesting doughnuts but they are too sweet. Both my husband and I only are a few bites from each doughnut. read more
We came here Saturday evening before heading over to the bat bridge. There was no line and the service was nice. The doughnuts are cheaper than I thought they would be and they were very good. They look like they are all the same size on their menu but they have a rotating case at the front so you get a better idea of how big the doughnuts are. I ordered the dirt doughnut and it was huge, while my husband ordered their cake doughnut that was pretty small. It does have a fun vibe and fits in with the surrounding area. read more

We were in town for a conference and stopped by after dinner for some doughnuts to bring back home (Hawaii). Five stars for customer service! The lines moved fast and they were super helpful in how we packed our doughnuts and sealed them with a sticker so we wouldn't have any problems with tsa. Totally recommend if youre in Austin. read more

We love voodoo donuts, the staff was amazing. I got the old dirty bastard donut, it was such a peanut buttery delight. My wife got the Portland cream donut, it was wonderful, creamy and not too sweet. I can't wait to try my Homer donut. Thanks voodoo donuts are being awesome.. #Voodoodonut read more
I should have paid attention to the display case before ordering 12 donuts! Some of these donuts are HUGE! Definitely a fun place to try some crazy combinations on donuts. The texture and flavor of all of the donuts are really good! read more

Just visiting the area and was looking for a local doughnut shop to try out, as I am something of a donut enthusiast. Friend who moved here recommended Voodoo doughnuts; I would've preferred to try out a local shop but he wasn't too familiar with the area and only knew of this place. The inside is really cool. Nothing quite like it where I'm from, so A+ on the aesthetics of the place. In terms of the actual donuts (I had Dirt and Raised Glazed) I wasn't too impressed. From the SF/SJ area and we have some pretty bomb local doughnut shops so I was not blown out of the water by this chain store. The doughnuts are pretty, just the taste sort of reminds me of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Overly sweet, very manufactured-tasting, if that makes sense. Nothing special about the dough or glaze. Glad I tried it though! read more
I have always wanted to try voodoo doughnuts. I guess today is my lucky day. One of my friends brought a box in and i immediately snagged the maple bacon donut. Who doesn't like a savory and sweet combo! This donut is huge! I typically like my donuts a little warm so I ended up putting it in the microwave. This took it to the next level by melt of the maple sugar and bacon, to create the perfect combination. Overall, there was a lot of unique options to choose from in the box of donuts that they brought. I hope to one day visit the store in person and try all the other unique and X rated flavors.. read more

I was so excited to visit Voodoo Doughnut!! I was impressed with how cute it was!!! It was so clean and cute. The whole place had a pink aesthetic which was great! The menu was huge! And even had specialty donuts for different diets! I got the churro donut which was an old fashioned donut with caramel and sugar cinnamon and it was sooo good!! read more

First time ever trying voodoos and I love it!!!! My bf and I were in Austin for his birthday trip and he suggested I have to go! And I don't regret it. I mean I was happy to oblige anyways because donuts! DUhhh! Who would say no yo donuts. I'm so glad I came by and tried it. We ordered the homer, oh captain, chocolate coconut, peanut cake, hibiscus, and more! I'll have to try the original place one day in Portland but till then, let's eat! read more
So this place reminds me of Sugar Shack in Richmond, VA. It was on my list to try, but I didn't realize it was nestled on 6 st! So after a night of bar hopping, I stopped by to check it out. The line was long but moved quick and SO worth it!! I asked John (johnathan?) for suggestions since there were a plethora of options. Now, I'm usually a plain Jane with food, but he suggested the strawberry frosted donut. OMG! It was just scrumptious. The frosting tasted like real, fresh strawberries which I wasn't expecting! I also got a glazed donut which was nice and fluffy. I loved that even though it was almost 3am, the donuts tasted like they were just made. read more

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're…
The line was insanely long and service was extremely slow. We waited at the counter for a long time after like 30 minutes. However, the vegan donuts we got were delicious! The prices are slightly outrageous.. but I understand due to location, late hours, vegan products.. they may have to charge a bit more. There also wasn't much of an ambiance to enjoy, but the art inside was cool. If you choose the right time to come this may be a better experience! The donuts are delicious regardless of wait or service from one night. (They could've been short staffed.. unsure) read more
Pretty mediocre if you ask me! We got a dirt donut to share and it tasted fine! It was Oreo flavored with white icing and cookie crumbs. Nothing too special about it. I think cause of Covid there was no indoor seating so we grabbed our donuts and headed out. read more
I love voodoo doughnuts! The atmosphere, staff, and of course the doughnuts are always awesome! They're everything I want in a neighborhood donut shop- complete with donuts that change their look according to the season/holiday! While I personally like Krispy Kreme's doughnuts better, (that's definitely because I can never get enough sugar, but if Krispy Kreme is too sugary for you, this will be your favorite doughnut place), Voodoo outweighs it in every other category by a mile! read more
Ordering online was easy and I came here as soon as they had opened to pick it up. They used to take cash only but now you can pay with card. I paid for my order online. The one I got was only the Old Dirty Bastard. If you have a sweet tooth, this one is definitely for you! I loved it. read more
I got the Homer Simpson donut & it was great but not amazing. It needs more sprinkles. My wife thought it was just okay. My wife got the white sprinkled cake donut which she said was great. I thought it was good but not amazing. The price of the donuts were very reasonable. I can see myself giving this place 5 stars if I try a chocolate-type flavor & end up enjoying it but trying 2 frosted flavors I wasn't completely sold on this place. read more

I really enjoyed the donuts here I had the dirt and my coworkers enjoyed the classic dozen. I like my donuts warm so 25 seconds in a microwave was just what I needed. I would definitely go back when visiting. read more
So overrated! It's cool to go once, or just go to Round Rock World famous Donuts. I'll start with the fact that's is incredibly dirty inside here, from the bathroom to the tables, walls , and menus. I don't usually eat sugar so everything should have been amazing, but no. Me and hubby split three donuts which ended up being one since two were so stale and old we threw them out. The only one worth eating was The Gay Bar. It was fresh and full of custard. The double chocolate and the sour cream cake donut seemed like they had been sitting out all day. We would have ordered other selections but most were out. Once and done! Can't believe there was such a long line. Plus most of the tables inside here had no chairs. The few that did have chairs were very dirty. See you at Round Rock World Famous Donuts! read more
I want to start by saying the location isn't the greatest but it's expected when something is on 6th street, none the less once you walk inside you really walk into another realm. It is cute, cozy, and fun inside! The donuts are insane and some of the coolest yet craziest inventions and combinations! They also carry classic donuts as well, but honestly between the vibe and the overall taste of the donuts we got, VOODOO was a definite win! If you haven't stopped here in your Austin your it is a must! read more
Over the top, incredibly sweet and MASSIVE donuts. The service was quick, the selection is abundant but you can't sit on the couches and enjoy your donuts. Shame. Not a must have while you're in Austin but after a night of drinking or a major sweet tooth craving this is certainly a spot you can hit. Both donuts I had were good and tasted fresh. Couldn't finish all of It, but I had just smashed a ton of drinks along with pizza. I may have gone too far with the donuts! Worth a stop people. read more
Ok this is the first voodoo doughnuts that I have actually eaten. Probably because they all have lines that are way too long for a damn donut. Well either our Stars aligned or something. Walked in and there was no line just one person in front of us here in Austin. They tried selling us this giant box of donuts for $6 ( great deal) but we only wanted a couple donuts and coffee. Ordered the Mexican hot chocolate donut and cinnamon sugar. Perfect sized donuts. And delicious Coffee was great as well read more
It may not be local but it's very good. This donut shop has quickly become a 6th Street institution selling wacky donuts to a city known as weird. It fits perfectly and both locals and tourists flock here 24 hours a day. The decor speaks to itself as colorful as Willie. Of all the times I have been here there is always a line. I usually get two but others walk out with boxes and if you buy a lot they you get a 5 gallon bucket. The staff is friendly and the place is very clean. The donuts are very soft and the very crisp and sweet. read more

Ask the Community - Voodoo Doughnut
Are you open for business?
Yes! We are currently open everyday from noon to midnight.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, unless they say otherwise. If they allow the homeless to sleep at the tables then I dont see why they would turn away a Pup.
Around how much does it cost to do custom donuts and is there a minimum you have to order?
I've heard they have a 10 dollar bucket filled with donuts! Is this only at certain times? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Buckets are usually available in the morning from 6-7 am Monday - Wednesday and sometimes on other days (depends how busy it was after midnight).…
