Swung by for the Voodoo Hurricane after a few hand grenades to keep the party going! This drink definitely kept the party lit and we had a great time walking the streets!

Aesthetically the place calls you in with the colorful sky cloud and bold neon. The food just isn't memorable or flavorful to be worth the price. Took a moment for someone to come to the front but at least we enjoyed the clouds.

We stumbled in here drunk and hungry on our way back to our hotel for a final drink and some chicken. It was really, really late night almost early morning, but there was a decent line of people. I'm sure dealing with a bunch of drunk/hungry people at that late hour is no easy task, but the workers were pretty patient. The chicken, gator bites, and waffle fries were just decent and got the job done. The Voodoo Funeral drink on the other hand was definitely the highlight and was the last thing I remember that night...if must've been pretty fricking strong because I don't remember how we got back to our hotel! There's a million places just like this in the French Quarter so I'm not sure if I would ever go out of my way to deliberately come here, but I guess I wouldn't mind somehow stumbling in here again the next time we're in the area!

My husband and I stopped by Voodoo Chicken & Daiquiris after midnight on a Saturday morning. 4 out of 5 stars because the service was slow. The place is a casual sitting. At the time, there was 1 staff member who took meal order while 2 others cook. There were customers in queue out to the sidewalk! One customer placed his order at 12:04am and didn't receive his food until 12:50am! It was approximately 40 minute wait for our food and all we ordered were a box meal of chicken tenders with fries and sodas! Despite the wait, the chicken was so flavorful! No sauce needed.

Awesome place! Damn good drinks and some definitely happening music! Definitely worth a stop in!

Update to the business owner: It ain't even about the price. The fact it being $50 for the food to be disgusting is the reason. If it was $50 and it was good, that's a different story! Cmon who doesn't know New Orleans is expensive? Hello hello near bourbon street and on the French quarter!! Old chicken, old fries, mushy jambalaya, rude workers, etc. I can't see what the hype was about. The food was old and everything tasted burnt. The lady at the front who took our order was also rude. We ordered the two piece, crawfish pie, jambalaya and 6 piece wings. It came to almost $50. Definitely not worth it for that price. People must be way too drunk thinking that this place is good.

Food is Excellent!!! The service was great! They advised about what to order since first time here. The ambiance is very casual informal but with great techno music No place to seat. No problem Took food to the hotel and Enjoyed it outside the patio where the pool is

Cool Cool !! Goal met !! Oldest wanted to try this place to compare w local competitor. He got the Chix Tenders and Fries. Cajun Tenders rocked ! Fries were trash. Taste like rubber !! Youngest grabbed Red Beans & Rice. Win Win for my picky one. They smelled and tasted awesome. Staff could be friendlier, but hey... everything else was a win !! They had convenient seating options to enjoy your food. I'd visit again for sure !!

This mini cup if gumbo is $8 and this sad chicken tenders is $15. Waste of money

This baby cup of gumbo is $8 and the most basic chicken tenders for $15. I've never felt more cheated.

Yummy quick spot to grab food while on Bourban! Definitely try the slushies, they are tasty! The biscuit was delicious and I am a die hard fan of waffle fries and these were a winner! The chicken did not disappoint either

The presentation of the food came was amazing. We ordered the linguine and added meatballs, which was well worth it. We also ordered the shrimp & grits, which included Brussels sprouts. Boy, it was sure nice to get some vegetables in my stomach after eating all that yummy fried food during our stay! All in all, both dishes were delicious. It is a little on the pricey side, but after several days of eating in the touristy area of the French Quarter, this was truly a welcome change. Service was polite and attentive. I always appreciate the staff's efforts by making simply making eye contact and smiling (which they did). Seems trivial but I think those small things says a lot about a business. I would recommend this restaurant even if you are not a guest of the hotel.

The ambiance is amazing, plus velvet, emerald and sapphire tone, glitzy, and feels like a good photo op. The bar and cocktail menu looked expansive. However, I was going to be hopping on a meeting, so I could not partake, unfortunately. A group got this impressive tower of espresso martini and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks! I wanted that New Orleans seafood but had late lunch, so I opted for just the crispy gulf shrimp on cheesy grits. I really wished I can hungrier because the dish ended up being very heavy. The shrimp were nice and crispy. The charred Brussels sprouts gave me the false sense that this was a healthy dish because I was getting my veggie intake. The bacon jam was sweet and went well with the Brussels sprouts. I loved the combination of the cheesy grits and the Crystal hot sauce. It was the perfect amount of both and some how led me to understand why Americans put hot sauce on their Mac n cheese and some other cheesy dishes after 30 years of not really understanding the attraction to that combo. I got the marinated olives to go so I could have a little snack later. They were just stuff I feel I could get in a jar... not really sure if I could justify the price. I think this is a fine place if you're looking for a photogenic night out drinking with a group of friends. Could be really cute for brunch!

Words simply cannot express how much I continue to be blown away by the exquisite quality of food,…read morebeverage, service, and uncommon hospitality demonstrated and perfectly executed by this New Orleans establishment. My wife and I visited on our first NoLa trip together about 4 years ago and make it a point to go every time now. Our first time we stopped in for lunch at the bar and had an excellent experience, and decided to return. We came back on the next trip just to grab a drink and a snack before heading down for dinner in the Bywater. The bartender (Chris) gave a bunch of recommendations for places to visit that way, all of which we have done in the past few trips and have loved. But it's this past trip where we were truly blown away. We were in town for JazzFest and after walking back to the French Quarter, we were thinking about food options and decided to take a gamble to see if we could get a seat at the bar or maybe grab a drink for the road before getting food somewhere else. The bar was full when we got there around 8/8:15, but they had a no show and could serve us, as long as we ordered quickly and were ok with the check hitting the table right at 9PM. Given our slightly (perhaps generous) inebriated state from being at the festival all day and being slightly underdressed, we felt this was quite a kind accommodation. With the clear expectations of needing to get our orders in quickly, we wasted no time making a decision on our drinks and a few food options. Despite this need for a quick turn around, at no time did we feel rushed. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, as they always are. But what impressed us most was the staff. At no point did the hostess or wait staff seem annoyed by us, despite us parachuting in from a music festival and looking like sunburn and poor decisions. By managing expectations on the front end, we never felt rushed despite the need for a quick turn around. They were all lovely, professional, and as cordial as if we were regulars with standing reservations once a week. In terms of atmosphere, it is always perfect: lively and fun for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or just a nice drink before a night out and about. I truly cannot begin to explain how much I love this restaurant and every experience I've had there. The awards and accolades this establishment (a sincere and lofty term Jewel of the South truly deserves) have been awarded are beyond well earned. Restaurants around the country should aspire to provide the quality of food, service, and overall hospitality Jewel of the South provides on a regular basis. It will continue to be our first and foremost recommendation to anyone we know who is going to New Orleans. Bravo! We shall return!

We shared 5 small plates - the crawfish bread - crawfish inside a crispy, flaky croissant like bread - OMG deliciousness. Then the tufa crudo - so fresh and flavorful, the crab tartlets - fine, but not as good as the other dishes; excellent salad, and the broccolini in a housemade horseradish goat cheese sauce - wow; one of the best broccolini dishes we have had. The carrots looked amazing, too. What a treat!

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. Inside is low light and old time apothecary mood, menus like a spellbook, but it's not gimmicky. The bartenders move like they've done the reps. Calm. Precise. No frantic showboating, no syrupy cover ups, no sloppy pours even with the parade energy banging on the door. We ordered two and they were both dead on. Alchemist Elixir: pea flower gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon. It shows up pale violet with an orchid on the rim and yes it's pretty, but it's also disciplined.
