I love vons but they let scammers put up stalls and lure people cash backs. The guy in the stall said NO COMMITMENTS, I just need to sign in and give my address and pay 2.50usd to get 10usd. So I was like maybe they just want to get my info for 2.50usd and I get the cash back so it was fine. Then he let me sign and handed me a folded yellow paper. When I got home it was a monthly newspaper subscription. He didn't even mention anything of that. What a predator. They should do business ethically and professionally. Not my favorite supermarket but the most convenient. The cashiers tend to have a bad attitude and poor customer service skills. One annoying thing that happens quite often is the long lines and only one register opened. To make matters worse, when they do open another register they, 99.9% of the time, will start taking the people at the end of the line first. Well, I tried out the Vons Delivery service yesterday. The shopping experience was quite helpful as you can run to fridge and pantry and double check throughout the house for items needed. Makes the shopping easier without a husband who is constantly "on a schedule" even when the schedule is unnecessary or a daughter who wants the world on a platter. After confirming my order for $160.00, and submitted at 6:30am u selected the order to be delivered between 4-6pm. At 5:30pm, our delivery guy shows up with my items. He brings them in the house and explains to me that there were some items they didn't have. So, here is my question: 1. Veal-look I know that in California, veal is very frowned upon so for you to have it in stock online and not deliver is something that will ruin my meat sauce hence, don't sell/offer if you don't plan on delivering. 2. I asked for 3 of one item and they only send two. 3. I asked for a specific size of something and they "substitute" with one package only weighing 1/2 of my required request. 4. Personal shopper, obviously did not read my notes! I specifically checked off "same item DIFFERENT size/quantity". I know have 5 pounds of something I will need to return which is NOT convenient. This was for at least 3 items I had notes for. 2 were messed up. In my book, that is a fail right?! 5. All the snacks I ordered for the lunch for the week, "not in stock". 6. No tortillas?! 7. No sourdough as per your site?! Suffice it to say, yes it's convenient but I wonder if the pay reflects the level of customer service? Apparently, they do not call you when they don't have items nor do they email you. They just bring you what they have or don't and guess what, deal with it. Forget that your recipe calls for certain things, they shrug and don't even apologize. Sad to say but I remember Pavillion's to be much higher quality AND PRICE. Shouldn't you want to be a happier service provider? This service sucks on a level I can't even express. I now, have to make a trip to Vons to return stuff which completely defeats the purpose of this service when I can run out at my lunch break or on hubbies lunch break....utterly a waste of time and money and GAS! Great service if you want canned goods, boxed pre packaged foods but don't go with FRESH things. Shoppers don't care to read or think. Ok the reviews on here of my beloved Vons are making me SAD! :( I absolutely love this Vons! I have never ever had a bad experience here. The cashiers, baggers, clerks, meat counter clerks... so yea that about covers every employee & they have all been super nice! I will go as far as saying every employee I've come in contact with has gone above & beyond to help! Maybe its because my sis & I are in there at least once a week! Here's the kicker we don't even live in the area any more but we still come here! Its always clean, things are always in their place...the quality of their produce/meats as so on is always fresh. Diane (the bakery supervisor) has the worst customer service skills ever! She is very defensive and portrayed a negative attitude when I was trying to explain to her my past experience with a cake I purchased. I expressed I was not blaming her at all I was just using that as a reference so it doesn't happen again when I place another order. I was told she will be there until 2pm but I called her at 11:15 AM to ensure she was there, which in fact she was. I kept asking her what time was she leaving so I can come in and show her a picture of what kind of cake I needed (as I was advised to do by her coworker the day before). She refused to see me and told me she was leaving at 11:30 I said great I can be there in five minutes but she still refused to see me. Her attitude was completely unprofessional and uncalled for. Wow, every employee is engaged with customers - and with a smile! I usually try calling ahead to confirm inventory on certain items; the challenge has been my local Von's doesn't always answer the phone. Then, I called this Von's. They answered on the first ring. They sent me to the best department (bakery) to handle my concerns. Jorge knew exactly what I needed and was extremely helpful, service-driven, professional and a KEEN listener - to ensure I had a WOW! experience. As I approached Jeremy, the cashier, he asked if I played the Monopoly game. I was stunned - I've never been asked that question in any store over the years. Jeremy is adaptable to customers, professional and efficient - completing my shopping experience on a positive note really sealed the deal that this is not just another grocery store. Both these interactions were two thumbs up; they both went above and beyond. Kudos to Raz (the onsite manager) for his leadership skills too - motivation and drive starts from the top. I like the idea that this place is open so late. I live a couple of miles down , so all i need to do is go with my pijamas, start my car and go to get my favorite ice cream with chocolate chips . I frequent this particular grocery store as i live within walking distance and i find myself always needed something last minute. To a few of the employees i have become a familiar face and they are always very nice and helpful. However, management at this store is horrible. The managers on duty are rude, annoying and always on thier cell phones. When they are asked questions they seem bothered and have on a few occasionso disciplined employees infront of myself and other customers. The lines are always long. So I don't normally like to shop at Von's or correction, I don't like to shop at this location. Maybe its the dark gloomy lighting, maybe the store feels smaller. Maybe its the shortage of help staff. Could be a number of reasons. I like the Vons on Topanga blvd. Maybe that location has ruined my experience with this location. Humn... either way I prefer the Ralphs option when I need to get something. This location does not have much of a Cake selection either. Kind of a bummer. Wait a minute i think maybe this is a just a much smaller location. That would explain alot. They do however have some kind of a cafe or food thing setup here. Don't listen to other reviewers on yelp about this location, in fact I feel more compelled to write a review after reading the utter garbage of stupid complaints from people trying to justify their own mistakes by blaming this location. You are running late at 9:30 in the morning? That is your own fault! If an item is sold out on Christmas (the 2nd busiest time of year besides thanksgiving for grocery stores) then that is your own fault! You should have planned in advance people! For the people that blame this store by using the words "terrible", "awful" and "horrible" but do not provide any actual situations that made you coin those terms, may I ask why? Anyways, this place is clean, has plenty of parking, fair prices and a friendly staff. The produce is much fresher then Ralphs where I have seen fruit flys coming out of produce before. They do not cut corners to provide you with fresh produce. The meat is delicious and always tender. Overall it is just a higher end experience that makes going to the grocery store very enjoyable. The prices at this Vons store in particular have skyrocketed over the past few years. I've been in a couple times recently and about the only thing I'm willing to pay their high prices for is the produce. The Canoga Park location has also gone way up on most of its prices. Why buy from there when you can go to Target, Food4Less, or even a 99 Cents Only store and get the same stuff for 30-50 percent less? I had some old Vons gift cards (close to $1,000 worth, given to me as gifts over the years or I won them in raffle) which I cashed in for Target gift cards because I am just not interested in shopping there anymore. I should have read the reviews of this location. My first visit to this location proved all of their concerns to be true. My wife sent me to a VONS for some products that were on special so I had my list and went to this location since it was on my way home from work. What a mistake. Now I know why I always shop at Ralphs. I went through the store locating what I needed but then when it came to canned tuna the shelf was empty. A Vons employee was about 15 feet alway in a trance staring at something on the shelf. I proceeded to ask are they out of tuna and she replied look at the end cap. So I went off and looked, no tuna, came back and noticed someone who looked like a manager with her staring once again at something on the shelf. I again proceeded to say that there was nothing there and are they out of canned tuna. They replied end cap and proceeded to once again stare at something on the shelf. I informed them that they should pay more attention to customer concerns more rather than staring at items on the shelves. I abandoned my cart of groceries in front of the canned tuna and told them that I was sorry that I disturbed their "zen" session. I left and went ot Ralphs. read more

Ok, so this is the Vons of the Valley. I came here for such a simple reason. Chili Beans. I've looked high and low for some premixed chili beans so that I can make my world famous chili. I went to all the other shopping places and couldn't find them. One of my co-workers clued me into Vons so I went. This is a nice clean location in a nice big strip mall off of Victory. It's set up well inside and everything was quite easy to find. For some reason I think this place is a little more expensive than the other large grocery stores but it didn't matter because they had my beans! read more

I have shopped here for 12 years and I am, finally, taking time to let the wonderful employees at this Vons (Tampa & Victory) know how much I appreciate them. Grocery shopping is not high on my fun-list, but I do have fun when I go to this store ... 2-3 times per week. Employees here are not only knowledgeable and helpful, but they are very professional! Everyone looks great in their Vons' shirts and they do a great job of "promoting the promotions" (Jus4U, Monopoly, Gas Rewards). I love shopping here at holidays as they centralize the "holiday essentials" all on one table ... a great time saver. No matter how long the lines, or how crowded the store, the employees go out of their way to help you or apologize for your wait time. The store is clean and well organized. I am very, very impressed with the Organic food selections in all departments. The negative review concerns the Deli area at this Vons. I had decided to get a prepared, hot sandwich here on the spot. Walking up to the counter, I could see the server washing dishes in the back while wearing latex disposable gloves. I called to him saying I want a sandwich. He stopped what he was doing, came over and took my order, which was the Turkey Pesto Avocado served hot. He proceeded to grab half of a French roll while still wearing the gloves he had on before when he was washing dishes. I said, Did you change your gloves first? He said, Oh, and changed his gloves. I was feeling charitable so I kept going. I said, The ingredients say this has focaccia not a French roll. They didn't have any focaccia. Alright, then why is it on the menu? Then I made him get me a different roll, this time wearing clean gloves. And I had to give him the eagle eye the rest of the time, practically holding his hand and helping him make my order correctly. Okay as grocery stores go, but product selection is limited and prices are higher. Fewer generic brand options. Get pan-handled with regularity in their parking lot. No self-check out and lines are always slow. Friendly employees, though, and they have a nice donut selection in their bakery.
