If I can prevent even one person from the havoc the barley and vegetable soup here will surely wreak on their body, then I have served the Lord. read more

There is always a long line, doesn't matter what time it is. They always have 2 to 3 checkers closed & you wait 20 minutes even in express to checkout. They are seriously understaffed & badly managed. Don't go here if you are in a hurry or mind waiting 20 plus minutes just to check out. read more

Best market with the most friendly staff. Joel was very helpful in helping me find what I needed and seemed to have know a lot about the products. read more

The lady at the counter Tasha was very nice when I went to the deli to order a sandwich the lady was not very customer service friendly I was going to get a sandwich to go like I was doing a favor to you guys store and her Before leaving the store I'll ask Tasha too thanks helping me and I told her what's going on:( It's going to take a long time for me to come back and shop at the store read more

Shawna the cashier was rude I had to tell her hello twice before she responded. Very rude since she was overly nice to the elderly couple in front of me, I feel since I am younger she doesn't have to be as nice to me? That's what I got I will be filing a report online with corporate as well read more

This is my favorite grocery store here in the south bay, the workers are very friendly. I come here all the time, I've lost keys, money, etc., and the employees are so wonderful always caring for the customers. They always find anything I need, including my car keys. The manager is very nice, I love this Vons, they treat customers right. read more

I support this Von's 100%, b/c I don't want this Von's to go away. True, they haven't nailed their staffing schedule yet, but they are improving except this guy at the flower counter... try to say hi to him on your next stop and see if you can get him smile. read more

One register open with 4 to 5 people waiting and the cashier was very rude. Just because a person's card is declined and they want to try it again does not make it ok for a cashier to share that with everyone else in line. Not a fan of this store and it's a shame because it's only a block away from me. read more

Ok I live across the street. And every time I go their with my neighbor she has an issue with the deli department. First of all can you please post the hours. It's sad at 4:45 pm you are told it's closed twice. And the girl was beyond rude. We waited 20 minutes for her to show up it was a Saturday mid afternoon and she seemed bothered that she was requested to perform her job duties. Then she requested that her sandwich be warmed up and the deli girl refused said it didn't come that way. And then we noticed the onions looked slimy we asked what was wrong with them and she couldn't tell us. And said that's all the onions they had. Really it's a grocery store you don't carry onions. It's sad that I now order my groceries online from Ralph's because who wants to shop where they can't tell you what they are serving you in the deli. I would love corporate to step in and fix this. So I could have the convince of shopping at a store I can walk to. But Tasha is awesome !!! And should get a raise !!! read more

Worst supermarket ever. It was the most painful experience of my life watching Susie make a sandwich. Sherrie is the rudest woman in the store every time. She harassed my sister and I for bringing in a service animal. Today is my last day shopping here. Ralphs from now on. read more

This is my first time at this store I went straight to the bakery and was more than happy with the service I received from employee janey she took care of me without a hesitation I love her customer service.thank you for making my child's cake I will definitely be back. read more

I had a problem with a delivery and their customer service was awful. I spoke to three people and none of them would help me at all. They basically told me tough shit. I will never use them again. The worst part is that if I had gone to someone else, they'd probably have done it right and I would have saved $30. read more

I will not be shopping at this Vons again if I can help it. Employees including management are VERY rude.

I cannot wait for Vons to go out of business. This is by far the worst Vons I have ever been to. And they all pretty much are garbage. They never have anything you want and their selection is horrible. What they do have though is rotten meat. Or it's about to expire the next day. Then they have a 50 percent section of green rotten meat. Staff are rude and ghetto. I will celebrate when they take a wrecking ball to the building. please bring in a real grocery store. are you ready for this? They have 2 types of bars of soap they have no cough syrup at all. they don't carry Listerine mouthwash. the guy that works the meat department is a rude "a hole" and knows very little about fresh meats and fish. And the deli section, they slice the meats and to shredded pieces and throw it all bundled up in a stack that you cannot pull apart when you get home. hey pretty much have no training and no people skills at all. This store and staff suck. and I am very upset that it's the closest grocery store to my house. read more

See all

We frequent this Von's and while they are smaller than other's in the area, they have the advantage of being right across the street. The bakery has really good cheese bagels, eclairs, chocolate fudge cake, and strawberry cake. read more

Worst service ever!!! I updated my Scheck and never fax it to corporate office three weeks later and you wonder why we now and no customers that frustrated like me go to Costco, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's or the other competitors and you know Antiquated system is so old you don't even have self-checkout in some places like Hermosa Beach location shame on you Vons need to get it together and get into the 21st century... read more

Just when you think the store can't get any worse it does. Not only are there always long lines, the produce department is always empty but today the meat department was empty too. Wish they would get their act together since this is my local store I shop at everyday! read more

Went on the weekend. This seems like a lower end Von's. They did not have a wide variety. There was only 1 roast that was on sale in the case. I skipped it. Only two check out lines were open. I went through the line, then discovered my husband bought the wrong cereal. I walked to customer service and then guy ignored me and said he was taking a break. I asked the cashier to help and she said get in the line again. At that point, the line was down the aisle almost half way. I left and will never go back to this Von's. read more

I love this store. It is smaller than some but the selection is great. However, the main thing is the staff. These are some of the nicest, most helpful people you will ever find in a store. Just fantastic ... wonderful!! read more

Can they please close this vons. It is such a small store that constantly has slow lines. Trying to support the local store here but it is getting painful. Deli department who does not care and for some reason hardly ever staffed. Selection is small in most departments. Hopefully some management can come in here and right this ship. read more

I live a few blocks from here so I go here if I need something quick. I LOVE that they have a Wells Fargo ATM inside.

I only go to Vons if there's a good sale on meat. After my experience today I won't be going back. First of all it smells bad, secondly they never have the meat section stocked. I had to ask the female butcher for help and she acted like I was bothering her-so rude. I also needed a can of chili no beans and the shelf was empty. Great, I had to go to another market to make my dinner (I've never had to make a second stop when I shop at Ralphs)! The only reason I'm giving this store an extra star is because the cashiers are very friendly. The butcher was the only rude employee I've ever encountered at this market. read more

Worst Vons in the entire South Bay Area, probably one of the worst in Los Angeles county as well. While in a good location the place is understaffed and the employees are slow, lazy and despondent. Specifically the deli area during the mid day noon time lunch rush, nobody was back there for over 10 to 15 minutes while a small group of people gathered and waited and waited. I left to get other items and when i returned there was still nobody there but more customers waiting! Someone contacted management, they even made 2 announcements over the store intercom. Still nothing. Most stores have 2-3 people back there, they do in Hermosa Beach, not here. Maybe the one person was still on their Christmas holiday or in the bathroom shitting their brains out, who knows. This Vons is a total joke. Giving it 2 stars because of the location and plenty of parking in the lot, But best to go somewhere else as this place is unacceptable. read more

This is one of the newer-style Vons locations with upgrades in the fruits & vegetables area. I find the fresh bread options to be better than other places like Ralphs or Albertsons. It's a smaller location, which means on the one hand it's easy to get through the whole store, but then they might not have some specialty foods. I usually find what I'm looking for and don't find their prices to be unreasonable. There is a big parking lot. I do not believe this is a 24-hour location. There are some small restaurants in the area like a Japanese place and a Papa John's. read more

I needed some veggies, thought I'd go to this Vons (first time) to see if their selection was any better than the other regular retail grocery stores in RB. No such luck - veggies were not fresh at all, looked as though they were a week old, super small selection, and no zucchini (what?). Passed on the mushroom, decided to look for canned mushroom... No canned mushroom. Again, what? Grocery stores are supposed to have an abundance of canned goods. Eck, I'll pass on this Vons. read more

Decent selection here. I love VONS bakeries for their affordability and decent quality fare. I just sometimes with this VONS were open later for my after-midnight cravings. haha read more

Worst grocery store. Horrible selection and service. Go to the one on pier in Hermosa if you can. Lines are always long because not enough checkers and don't get me started on the deli... read more

Carolyn was wonderful today! She has a great smile and provided me with the best customer service. This will be my new Vons! Thank you!

Check expiration dates on frozen items if price is marked down.

It's got a small town feel which I like. The smaller variety of foods is something with which I learned to deal. The packaged cold cuts though all had expired dates. I picked up 10 of them and showed them to a clerk. Unfortunately I went to cheese next and found a pack of green cheese. Not fancy green cheese. Moldy cheese. Yuck. read more

I've come back to this supermarket a couple times since our awful experience. I haven't had a repeat experience so maybe they were just having a really really bad day before. read more

I have shopped at this Von's on and off since it first opened, more than35 years. After their recent remodel, selection and service have taken a backseat to flash. The huge bakery and deli are almost always understaffed, making a five to ten minute wail the norm. Complaints are handled with a sales seminar smile and no resolve. No doubt in the future, I will brave the parking and traffic hassles at the Hermosa Beach location. read more

The service in your deli is nonexistent these days. Stood there while one employee waited on a customer and the other 4 ignored me completely . I thought I'd get an acknowledgement after two employees got done talking, but I was wrong. She sauntered off to go her prepackaged work. The employee who was waiting on someone else got finished, but made no fuss of hurrying to get to me. Quite the opposite actually. Never turned to day she'd be right with me, just very very slowly put her stuff away and eventually mosied on over grudgingly to help me. I am sure your store leadership is aware of the new competition in the area, as well as the existing. I spend s lot of money in your store and I'm furious over the way I was treated today . On top of that, the checker never even said hello to me. Seriously bad. I'll give you guys one more chance before I don't return. I went back a couple weeks later and got treated like dirt again. Never going back read more

I bought the $10 roasted chicken there. Yes, it is bigger - but - it was an unseasoned, icky tasting blog of meat.

I have been shopping here since the early 80's, so I may be a bit biased here. The store is smaller than most of the large grocery stores and I feel like the staff is a bit friendlier. The recent remodeling helped to added more functionality and gave the store a much needed updating. There is more space devoted to prepared foods and produce. Still, I lament that there seems to be fewer store brand products and health care products. read more

Decent Vons smaller convenient location staff is indifferent. Not the best but there are worse

This place doesn't even feel like a Vons. First time I came here it was horrible I said I would never come back. But once again it disappointed me. It just feels dirty it's super small and does not have everything a normal Vons has. The employees just seen miserable and with only 2 checkers I had to wait forever to just buy my groceries. I will not be back to this Vons again. I guess I will just drive farther to the Vons on PCH. read more

Every time I buy their gallon of milk on sale it goes sour before the expiration date. The donuts are always stale and I've bought crab legs from them on sale that will make the house reek of dead fish. The staff is 50/50 when it comes to their customer service. I have dealt with a very rude Hispanic man which is a Manager and a much older man with glasses which is a checker who just seems to never have a good day and is impatient with everyone. Sometimes they are understaffed and you have to deal with an extremely long 2 line wait during the 5-7pm shopping hour. Overall, they have some kinks to workout before I return. read more
