The cool thing about Trader Joe's is their giant and spacious parking lot... It seems criminal the lack of parking that is required for the business center. The customer service is warm, welcoming, friendly. The grocery selections are varied, interesting, yummy. The produce is hit or miss with the dark mushy spots. Parking is constrained due to parking lot construction happening currently. Checkout is a fun test of temptation. They have so many good looking snacks displayed up front. Stopped by with my girlfriend to grab some Angeleno Spritz and, as always with TJ's, ended up leaving with a few extra goodies. We lucked out on the seasonal dill pickle popcorn -- it's usually sold out, but a super helpful employee checked the back and found a whole box! We grabbed three bags without hesitation. While we waited, they were offering samples of the honey lemon melon -- bright, zesty, and refreshing, exactly what you'd imagine a lemon-kissed melon would taste like. Is it me!? Or does every employee have a smart ass answer when you have a question about something? I walked in this afternoon and I asked these two Caucasian ladies if they had any of the new bags. As if we were friends, she says.. "we saved a bunch just for you". Then some dude with thick coke bottle glasses interjects his opinion and is says "your not doing much investigating" as if i live in social media and am in the know all the time. This Trader Joe's is huge!! I love the one in manhattan beach that I often go to, but if I'm in the area, this may be my new favorite TJ to go to! The isles are spacious, they have several bathrooms, and the staff is super friendly! Great TJ! I love Trader Joe's and had shopped at many, in SF, Denver, DC, and the South Bay, and this one is by far the biggest, least crowded, has the widest selection, and still hands down the easiest TJs to park in. After having a horrible experience at Lazy Acres, my mom and I headed to Trader Joe's where all the staff were friendly and were welcoming of my service dog. All the staff seemed to be very happy to work their and true friends with their fellow employees. That's always a good vibe to have in a grocery store. They were also all dressed very casual which was fitting for SoCal and makes me appreciate the management for allowing employees their freedom. I always know I can count on Trader Joe's. Whether it's in my home town or a million miles away, Trader Joe's is bound to have a tummy pleasing healthy option for any meal of the day. There's no need to go to a restaurant when I can stop here for a premade sandwich, wrap, salad and some chips. read more

TJs has been a pillar of grocery excellence ever since I was a kid. Love the franchise. The best part of the TJ experience is, of course, the food options/deals and the typically FANTASTIC customer service. This is why the following sentence is perplexing. The last 2 out of 3 visits (last one this morning) I've had checkers who 1. Do not smile 2. Do not make eye contact and 3. Just seem disinterested in me and, frankly, everything. This is the least friendly Trader Joe's I've ever been to. I'm not sure if this is due to the color of my skin or that I am not a hermosa beach 'local', but every time I walk out of this location I feel like they did not want me in there to begin with. In the grand scheme of life, who cares--I was able to purchase the products I went in for--I just want to share this sentiment with the corporation so that improvements may be implemented. I usually enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's, but I had an experience a few months back that left a sour taste in my mouth and I've debating saying something, but I think customer service is important and the way I was treated has left me shopping less and less at Trader Joe's. My experience at the Hermosa Ave location was incredibly unprofessional. I had trouble finding something while I was grabbing my usual groceries, and I noticed an employee standing around so I approached him to ask when I could find my item because it wasn't in its usual space. He was incredibly rude and stand off-ish and said "well did you even check another aisle first?". I was taken back but I calmly answered "no sorry, do you think you could help me?" And he let out the biggest sigh, rolled his eyes and just pointed me in a direction. He made me feel so stupid and like an inconvenience. I still couldn't find what I was looking for so I just left with nothing because I was so embarrassed. I didn't catch his name but he was light skinned with big curly hair and he was in a blue Trader Joe's hoodie, dark pants, and chunky white and black shoes. Look, I understand that he could've been having a bad day, but this is a workplace, you need to check your emotions at the door and treat people with kindness. It was uncomfortable, upsetting, and completely unprofessional. Trader Joe's is known for its great customer experience, but this behavior brings the store's reputation down. Hopefully, management takes notice because this is not what I expect when I go grocery shopping. Do better, Trader Joe's. read more

As with all locations, most employees are nice. I enjoy shopping at this TJ because the aisles are wide (unlike the one on Manhattan Beach Blvd). If you go in the morning, best to go first thing when they open and not too many other people are grocery shopping yet. Otherwise if wait later, it's going to be harder to find parking because the Starbucks drive thru occupies a good chunk of spots in the AM. For new items, I often times have to make a pit stop at the one on Rosecrans Blvd - for some reason their location gets newer items earlier than this Hermosa location. read more

Love this TJ's! Only complaint is when it's busy it's difficult to find parking and sometimes they are out of a lot of their regular items (but I blame supply chain issues). Sometimes the meat is bery expensive but I just usually buy my meat elsewhere. The staff are super friendly and always hard at work. You never see them standing around just chatting up a storm. The reason for this review is because I bought a cesar salad kit and opened it to have for dinner that night and all of the lettuce was already pink. The bag must've been so old on the shelf or a faulty batch of product but I had to throw it away. read more

Great store, good prices, nice employees. Why 2 Stars? Because they post that only service animals are allowed, not pets. Today, there was a woman with a dog sitting in a cart seat (designed for children) shopping for produce which put the pet exactly at the level of open produce. Instead of enforcing a rule designed for to assist handicapped individuals, employess are activly encoraging this self entitled behavior thru canine complements. There is an easy fix. Post a sign that welcomes all pets. Which would be consistent with store practice. Why they wont do that? Because it would be a health code violation. It's not dog hate at all. My two have free range in the back yard, especially when I am shopping. read more

Trader is my go to store great produce and health foods and frequenting TJ's for more than 30 years. Never a disappointment.

You won't hear this girl complain about a TJ's. The experience is typical of most TJ's everywhere: tasty options to try, a sip of coffee, wines galore, a cheese case, produce in every color and aisles filled with products to create something awesome in the kitchen. Sleepy heads will gripe that some things are often times out of stock or the shelves are empty. I say shop early and in well advance of the holidays. Need something you can't live without? Call first. I love the generous return policy, try something...if you don't like it, return for a refund. Cut the checkers some slack...they're dealing with some characters; they enjoy small talk and are friendly if you are. While you're at it, help bag your own groceries. Teamwork makes the dream work. It baffles me when car owners groan about dings and careless people. It sucks but it's life, unlike being out of St. André triple cream brie, a ding is not the end of the world. Lead by example, walk the extra steps and return your cart to the a designated cart area. And don't forget to smile, it's good for the soul and the people around you. We brought our own Trader Joe's bag with us... Stephanie rang us up and asked us for the bag to ring it up. My mom and I advised that it's our own bag, mind you, it's wrinkled and clearly used. Stephanie proceeded to inspect the bag and looked at us suspiciously. We do not need to steal an $8.99 reusable bag. I normally don't review grocery stores, but the crew at this TJs are awesome and wanted to send some love their way. I've been shopping here since March when I took over shopping for my folks as a precaution to minimize their contact with the outside world. The store here is awesome and the staff are always friendly and helpful. They do actively monitor the number of people in store, and with a larger footprint, it's easy to keep social distance while getting your shopping done. Even when I've had to wait to get in, the line always moves quickly! The team is constantly replenishing the floor, and by and large, I have always been able to find what is on the list for the week (save a few times when people were hoarding). The staff truly functions as a team here and they are always pitching in to help one another out. Since I'm doing the family shopping (my parents and myself at the same time), I ask for two transactions (I keep the groceries separated) and have always been happily accommodated. This is best location in South Bay - big selection, lots of parking, well staffed checkouts. I also like that it is around corner from Vons so I can easily go to both in same run. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because TJ quality at all locations is so spotty. It has never claimed to be anything more than a value supermarket, but I still think corporate can strive for TJ to be better, especially in produce and meats. read more

The carts are cleaned etc. But aside from that, the staff is hands down the best of any stores I have been to. They are friendly, helpful, upbeat and just nice!! Great people working there! This store is always running out of stock! I have never had this experience at any other Trader Joe's where so many items I come in to buy are sold out. I have mentioned this to staff and management many times and they keep saying they are a new store and still trying to find their rhythm but they've been open for nearly a year and a half. It's really a shame because it's right next to my house and has great staff and a nice layout but I will start going back to the Manhattan Beach or Redondo Beach stores if I continue to walk out of this store empty handed. This is my home TJ's and I always enjoy my trips here. I know TJ's is notorious for having terrible parking but aside from one time during peak time that I had a hard time finding parking, I typically have my pick of the litter. I can find almost everything I could ever want here, all for the best prices. I almost always discover something new to try on every trip. While some things come and go seasonally, there are some staple favorites that I love to get here, either for their prices, or for their deliciousness. Some include prosciutto, frozen chocolate covered bananas, chocolate milk, pre-made carnitas, organic wine, teeny tiny avocados, eggplant spread, mini stroopwafels, just to name a few. My only gripe with this location that bumps down one star is how often they are out of stock of things. It kind of puts a dent in my grocery shopping when I expect to be able to cross off my entire list in one trip to one place when they are out of stock so often. All of the employees are so friendly and go above and beyond on their service. It's like I'm visiting a bunch of friends when I'm shopping. Even when dealing with returns, the employees are so easy to work with. Overall just a smooth customer experience. read more
