I wasn't looking to have something wrapped at the store I bought it from; I just needed a place that still offered gift wrapping as a service. Turns out, that's becoming a dying industry. Enter Saugus Drugs & Hallmark. I called right when they opened at 9am to ask if they could help. Drove over by 10am, and thankfully it was quiet. They not only wrapped my wife's birthday gift, but also found the right box for it. I think I paid maybe $5 or $6, and honestly, it felt like a steal for the care they put in. The woman who helped me was incredibly attentive. She asked me multiple times if I liked how it looked, made small adjustments, and genuinely seemed to care that it came out just right. It's been a few weeks since, and I still find myself thinking about how much that simple act meant. Thoughtful service like that is rare these days--and worth writing about.

It's unfortunate because the store really does have some great and unique items, but it's hard to enjoy browsing when you feel uneasy. The girl at the front desk is always kind and helpful, but if the store is dealing with theft issues, I think there are better ways to handle it without making customers feel uncomfortable.

They always know my name when I walk in the door. Because of my high deductible I usually end up paying cash, so I am always conscientious about the cost of medications. I always feel like I am getting a fair price. My mother was recently diagnosed with diabetes and her doctor told her that she needed to start taking insulin. They must have spent a full hour explaining to my mom how to check her blood sugar and how to administer the insulin. I cannot say enough good things about them. Highly recommend.

I decided to use an app called Good Rx which if you don't have you should download. We saw that both of our meds were around 80% cheaper with a 90 day supply than CVS was with a 30 day. We called the pharmacy and set up our profile and switched the prescription then a few days later came in. It is not difficult to find on the left side of the store as you enter. We waited for our turn, with one person in front. I told them who we were and picked up the meds showing the code on the app. Now I don't have to hassle with that for 3 more months and when I come back I will just do the same.
