His service was top-notch. He was friendly and calm, and tested different colours to come up with the closest match. My toes bear the most abuse as I climb downhill so I decided to invest in a pair of running shoes. The difference between the two are 'night' and 'day'. Hiking shoes: I have three pairs and they all have shock-absorbing foam midsoles, and durable rubber outsoles with aggressive tread patterns for traction on dirt and rocks. I've interchanged using one to the other for 6 years now and thought I've become accustomed to them. Unfortunately, my recent hikes told me otherwise. My last hike to Chilnualna Falls nearly took my toenails off. My toes hit the hard toe cap and were bruised from the hike down. It may be true that hiking shoes might prevent ankle twists but I couldn't hike for weeks after that adventure. Running shoes: Running shoes are lightweight and flexible. They're engineered to absorb shock. I hiked with my 'new' running shoes to two different trails and my feet were quite comfortable. My toes did not smash into the toe caps and the shoes weigh much less than my hiking boots. I just have to be careful not to twist my ankles. I've always had a difficult time finding shoes to fit my small feet, so I was pleasantly surprised to find my running shoes at BIG 5. It's a perfect time to visit the store because of their 'special'. I got 25% off on top of the discounted price listed. Sara checked me out and mentioned that. Although I don't have any pain, I wanted to see what a 'professional' dentist says. I found this clinic, not through referral or recommendation, but from a flyer I received in the mail. Once there, I completed their forms - the usual things we do as a new patient. They suggested a cleaning so I said yes. Since I had a complete mouth X-ray several months back, I urged them not to take any more X-rays. While I was waiting, I overheard the dentist telling the patient before me that she needed extensive work, but all that could be done the same day. With that much work, I was impressed. In my mind, I'm hoping that I won't need as much work as that poor lady. After waiting sometime, I was called in for a cleaning. The dental hygienist, Jessica was pleasant, professional and understanding. (4.5 of 5) When my turn came for the dentist to see me, he mentioned the amount of work I needed. He didn't spend much time with me, yet he was quick to diagnose the problems. I was in disbelief. My shock must have shown on my face when he said that. A red flag popped up in my head. I clearly just heard him say the same lines to the lady before me. "This is what you need. We can do the work the same day but you need someone to drop you off and pick you up. It'll take about four hours." The dentist then said Suzanne will go over the cost with me. I was shown into another room, and several minutes later, wearing a white coat, Suzanne came into the room. Imagine how dumbfounded I was when Suzanne said it'll cost seven thousand two hundred and fifty-three dollars for the work. I asked if I really need all that work done. She said she can give me $158 discount, and not charge for the sedation, but it'll still be over seven thousand dollars. I checked myself out with the breakdown of the work and said I'll think it over. I reached out to Golden Hill via email to see which tooth or teeth need immediate attention. I didn't hear back. (1 of 5) Needless to say, I opted for a second opinion. The dentist I went to mentioned that none of the work requires immediate attention, but I should watch out for any signs of pain or discomfort. I am glad I got a second opinion. I am flabbergasted that Golden Hills Dental has such little empathy for their patients. To that end, I'm glad they did not see fit to respond to my email.

We found everything we were looking for and more. Our kids found cool treats and cold drinks to hold us over until we got back to our Airbnb. Prices were better than a few stores in the valley that we stopped at. Service wasn't bad either. Everyone here was very welcoming and friendly and got us through the line after helping us locate a few specific items. Hoping to find lodging in the park next visit and we'll be back through.
