They don't pick up their phone nor return calls. When I arrived at the pharmacy, they didn't have what I needed. When asked why they don't pick up their phone, they said they were short staffed but they had two hours people and no one else in the queue. I understand they might not be able to pick up but I called twice and left my number and never received a call back. Very unprofessional for a pharmacy. read more

This store needs to remove the CVS logo from their store!! They are NOT CVS!! Because of the logo and it coming up in the search as a CVS, I was going to have much needed meds transfered we were up here. My CVS pharmacy from our neighborhood 5 hours away from here CAN NOT transfer the prescription because they are a Vons pharmacy!! Now I am without my meds for three days!! read more

Does the phone not work? I've been having to travel to this pharmacy to notify about a refill prescription for half a year. When I do this I am told to wait a couple hours which is extremely inconvenient. Sad to see this once good pharmacy go down in quality. read more

I was on vacation in Mammoth Lakes when I ran out of one of my prescriptions. I called my doctor and they called it in immediately. I called several times to make sure that it was ready to be picked up and not once did anyone answer the phone. I started reading reviews and the #1 problem with them was not answering the phone. The reviews were from years up to the date I called. We went down to pick up my prescription and waited in line for a few minutes and when we got to the clerk I gave her my name and she looked at the computer for a while. She then asked are you from out of town and I said yes and explained that my doctor called in the prescription yesterday. She told me that they didn't have my medication and it would take up to two days to order it. I asked about other pharmacy's in the area and they said that the closest pharmacy was in Bishop. Now I have been 2 days without my prescription medicine. Needless to say we had to pack up and leave 2 days early to go back home to be able to get my prescription filled. Thank goodness for Kaiser because it was ready and waiting for me. I will never use that pharmacy again. They were really slow and they never answered the phones so you could never find out if your prescriptions were ready. read more

The difference in my experiences over the last 6 months has been a 180 degree turnaround. There are more pharmacists and staff for the high demand in this very busy pharmacy. The staff is really helpful at adding an extra cashier as needed. The extra room in the pharmacy is also very much appreciated, as are the extended hours. read more

I want to acknowledge the hard-working people in the pharmacy. They all were so kind and awesome trying to help me figure out how to deal with insurance and changing prescriptions and filling the prescription and dealing with the constant back-and-forth with insurance and things being approved and they held my hand the entire time. Shout out to Camron, Livia, Thomas, Amelia, Nayeli, Evelyn, and Amir! Yes, it takes a village to fulfill prescriptions out here in the woods. Unfortunately, they have closed the Rite Aid which was the only other location to get your prescriptions. So now the Vons pharmacy is the only spot in the area and they are being overloaded and then yelled at for having too long of a line and not exceptional customer service! If you are a visitor, please be nice to these wonderful people or just get your own prescriptions in your own hometown!! I feel deeply for these people and hope you learn more patience when you come to a mountain town. Thank you guys for all the hard work you do I know I appreciate it greatly! read more

We were vacationing in Mammoth Lakes when my husband told me he forgot one of his cardiac medications. We were more than 5 hours from home and there wasn't another Kaiser pharmacy for hours. I frantically called around for pharmacies in the area who might be able to help. There was a Rite Aid not too far from our campground but no one ever answered the phone despite many call attempts. Thanks to Yelp, I found Vons pharmacy which was even closer to us. This pharmacy is located within the Vons Shopping center - near Starbucks.m I spoke to Hamad (??spelling) and explained the situation. He confirmed that unfortunately Kaiser isn't contracted with any pharmacies in the Eastern Sierras. I provided him my husband's Kaiser information and he proceeded to call them for the rx. Unfortunately, he apparently could not get the rx as it needed a new MD order. Hamad further shared with us his direct contact information and how best to facilitate this so that hubby could get his medication. Fast forward and I was able to speak to my husband's home pharmacy and physician office and explained the situation I provided them with Hamad's contact information and they sent him exactly what he needed to fill the rx. We called Hamad later that day and thank goodness all was processed and we were able to pick up his medication. Huge thanks to Hamad and Vons pharmacy for helping my husband to get his cardiac medications! read more

Really would like to support this business, but got turned off twice by the obnoxious attitudes at the pharmacy counter and the poor service. Had an appointment for a Moderna COVID vaccine for myself and my daughter and got confirmation twice in email, but when I arrived and waited 40 min in line, the pharmacist started that they had no supply and the only had the Jannsen vaccine in its place. After researching the alternative to what I had expected and returning to the counter, the attitude I encountered was almost beyond belief. At that point, the counter person stated locals only, regardless of my prior appointment. I actually have no issues with limited availability of vaccine at this time, but WOW, what an attitude I encountered at the pharmacy counter both times I spoke with them!!!! Encourage all out of towners to patronize Rite Aid instead - I've been to both many times over the years and never encountered this type of poor customer service from Rite Aid. read more

Terrible customer service. Dr calls in a prescription in the morning. You wait till 1:30 to go pick it up. You discover that the entire staff shuts the place down for a lunch break between 1 and 2 (not a staggered lunch break). You return at 1:45 so you can hopefully avoid a line out the door which is standard for the Mammoth Lakes Pharmacy. The wndow goes back up at 2pm. One pharacist and two assistants working. Your turn comes about 2:15. Rather than having your prescription ready, you are told that it will take 30 minutes (not making you happy). You hear them tell the next customer that it will be an hour. One customers says she will just come back the next day. After about about 10intes if working - the female pharmicity walk out the back door - leaving the no one to put the pulls on the bottles for the customers that are standing there waiting (like me). There was one one person waiting to get a vaccination which presumably is where the pharmacist went. However, she was gone for the next half hour with no body to fill the orders - She never came back. Finally - i spoke up "Why is there nobody here to fill our orders ??". A young man in street close from the side of the office said "That's me". I suggested that we have been looking at an empty counter for well over 30 minutes now. He sheepishly went to work - still in his street clothes. My order was finally ready when the assistant who was ringing up my order said in a sarcastic tone "We are short staffed and nobody in Mammoth wants to work. You can come and work here." I remarked that I was not a pharmacist- but they need to have enough staff to provide adequate customer service. She remained snotty in her comments you me so I finally had to tell her "You don't have to be so smart about it" which i had to repeat several times as she continued to try to justify the long wait and lack of someone who could put the pills into the bottles. "Do you think we should just not give vaccines?" she said (ignoring the fact that the single person who was there for a shot had left a half hour ago). Problem - there is NO OTHER pharmacy in our town - and the nearest town is 45 miles away - so we are stuck with snotty attitudes and incredibly poor customer service if we want to get a prescription filled. read more

Worst service I have ever received with regard to both competence or attitude. Had to go back 4x to get a prescription filled. Each time I was treated to rude behavior by the employees complaining they were understaffed. Management and staff should be reminded that people at getting prescriptions because either they or their loved ones is sick or in pain. Some kindness and respect is appropriate and if they can't manage that they should be shut down. I would literally go anywhere else if there was the option in Mammoth. read more

While in Mammoth in June, I developed a UTI. I went to the ER at the local hospital which was GREAT. They sent an Rx to the pharmacy at Von's. I drove over on the way back to our condo, went to the window and was told they were closing for lunch for an hour and that I should come back. Needless to say, I was in a great deal of discomfort by then and more than a little surprised that they did not have someone on staff to cover the lunch hour when it seems possible that a lot of people might be trying to get a prescription filled on their own lunch hour. read more

Came without my insulin. Wife packed the car and said he had everything. It happens. Went to pharmacy early in the morning and they got my prescription transferred so it could be dispensed. Whole thing was problematic because I just got a 3 month supply the week before and the insurance company was going to make it a pain. The head guy worked through all the issues. Really saved my backside otherwise I would have had to go to a doc in the box or an ER to get a new prescription. read more

Customer service is not the best. Filling a prescription takes too long. After getting out of the hospital there in Mammoth I had two prescriptions to pickup. The only problem is I needed them before the pharmacy closed in that I was leaving the next morning for home 6 hours away. They did not attempt to fill them that day but waited till the next day then called me in the afternoon to inform me I could pick them up. Well I was well on my way home. So one prescription an antibiotic had to be transferred to my pharmacy for when I got home. The other one could not be transferred because it was a pain med. Unacceptable read more
