The store is located in a small plaza diagonally across from the Vons shopping center. It's right next to the Mammoth Coffee Roasters. There's limited parking in the back, but I've never seen it full. The meat counter is at the back of the store and they pretty much have everything you would need as they also sell produce and charcoal. It's pretty much a one stop shop. The staff inside were very nice and helpful. The ranchera meat wasn't cut too thin or too thick and made for a quick sear on the grill. The marinade was your typical carne asada flavors. Definitely recommend this place if you want to make some great tacos at home on the cheap. They also offer pork, chicken & seafood.

On my last stop I got the sweet and spicy turkey jerky and teriyaki beef jerky, fully intending that the $45 dollars I spent would last me snacks for at least a week. Let's just say that didn't happen and I didn't regret a second of my jerky induced mania. Two days of jerky bliss, but then the immediate wish I had another trip planned to buy more jerky. I wanted the signature butchers cut sandwich but they were sold out when we got there so I got the tri tip and my gf got the sausage and we asked them to cut it in half so we each got half of each. Both sandwiches were bomb! We both liked the tri tip the most, but the sausage was also very good. I definitely want to come back to try the butcher sandwich next time. My only complaint is that there's only one guy back there making sandwiches so if there's a lot of people ahead of you it might take a bit for your order. It's also not cheap though I think the price is worth it.

We ordered the ribeye and the New York strip, and both steaks were absolutely delicious -- perfectly cooked, juicy, flavorful, and honestly some of the best steaks we've had in a while. Another detail worth mentioning: the restroom was exceptionally clean and well maintained. It was honestly more impressive than the restrooms at many luxury hotels, which says a lot about how much attention this restaurant pays to cleanliness and overall guest experience. Excellent food, great hospitality, and impressive attention to detail. We would absolutely come back again next time we're in Mammoth Lakes.

It's a small spot with limited seating, mostly counter seating outside the market and a small counter area inside toward the back where they prepare the food. Honestly, we loved the charm of it! It felt casual and authentic. Another huge plus, the prices were so reasonable, especially for Mammoth. Great food without the typical mountain-town prices. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area!

The carne asada burrito was super salty and greasy. The birria taco does not come with consomme which made it a little dry and lacked flavor, but their elote was pretty good. After waiting over 30 minutes, I eventually had to find another staff member myself. The food was decent but overpriced. I ordered the rock shrimp, which was good, and the wagyu burger, which was mediocre. The atmosphere was also extremely loud and rowdy, feeling more like a bar than a restaurant. Overall, the poor service was by far the biggest issue. Regardless of our age, being ignored for that long left a very disappointing impression of the staff and the restaurant as a whole. We had to request silverware from the busser after all the plates were left and continually got up to refill our own water. The server's attitude disengaged and clueless. We had to flag him down to order another round of drinks because he never checked on us. No boxes were offered to take food home, which was a shame, it was all pretty good. It took so long to get the check, again, another person had to be asked while our server was just hanging out in the kitchen He had no idea how to operate the handheld POS device. When it was pointed out he didn't remove items we didn't order, he did but then left us with a blank screen. Finally, one of us walked to the bar to ask to pay and told the bartender the server didn't know what he was doing. Her response was "it's only his second shift." I mean, ok, if he'd let us know that and apologized for lapses we would have been understanding- or if he'd had an experienced server training him he wouldn't have been the weeds - but even calling it the weeds is generous because it wasnt busy. We said, "ok, it's his second shift but you should know he's doing a terrible job" - as was evidenced by the tables around us who were similarly struggling to order and get their bills. The bartender's response was to shrug, roll her eyes and say "he's trying" while she walked away. If you're charging $30+ for entrees, and people are paying $15+ per drink, we expect more than trying. Oof, if you're treating locals like this, it's gonna be a long shoulder season.
