A perfect weekend getaway. On lake Travis this water park is great for families looking for something fun to do over summer. The Billy beach house has some really yum food. Our favorite was the hot wing, pizza, cheese burger and tenders. Their pina colada with mango was perfect. While kids loved the water rides, there is a ton for grownups to do. They have beach volleyball and cornhole. Parking for restaurant is free however for waterpark it's paid. read more

We love Volente Beach for fun in the sun with the family! There's something for everyone in the family to do between the lake, the slides, and the children's area. There's a lot to do out of the water as well and the food and service are always great! Parking is off site and it's a short walk to the lake, there's also a shuttle for those who are less mobile. (Fun fact: check season 4 episode 6 of Fear the Walking Dead that was filmed there!!!) read more

Skip to the last two paragraphs for comments on the wildest firework show I've ever seen. I took my 4-year-old son for the evening fireworks event on Friday, July 3. He is exactly 42" tall, so he was eligible to ride three of the four big slides, but he was content to simply play on the pirate ship for toddlers, which he enjoyed very much. We didn't enter the restaurant or try the food truck but we were happy to find a little snow cone vendor. Then we waded in the lake briefly before watching the fireworks from the beach. This is not a corporate water park like some of the others in the Austin area -- if that's what you want or expect, look elsewhere. If you want to take a beautiful drive out to Lake Travis and enjoy some time swimming on a little lakefront beach and perhaps riding a few waterslides, playing volleyball, eating at the restaurant, then this place might be more your speed. It's clearly been around for a while and it's not 100% cosmetically perfect, but for a small, locally-owned place, it's about as well maintained as you could expect, and the sunset is pretty great! Our only interaction with the staff was at the front gate, but they were super kind to us. Four stars overall. Really, my only complaints were with other guests -- it felt a little crowded due to the holiday, and wherever we sat, neighbors would soon claim a nearby spot and begin smoking or playing music from a wireless speaker with lyrics that I don't want my young kid repeating (a racial slur, specifically). Maybe this is already against park policy, and if so, it's partially on me for not reporting it. The firework show itself was good overall, but there was a brief moment that felt absolutely crazy. A few minutes in, what seemed like dozens of fireworks exploded almost simultaneously and very close to the ground, if not on the ground itself. It seemed like a chain-reaction / feedback loop. We were at a safe distance on the beach, but I can imagine it would have been frightening for people floating on the water near the launch site. When it ended, there was a small fire burning near the launch site, although it seemed like it was contained quickly by a single person. Meanwhile, fireworks continued from other launch sites. We stayed only 10 minutes more, and could still see fireworks from the car as we drove away. I wonder whether anyone else who attended had a better sense of what happened, or if the owners could share more information to clear the air? These things sometimes happen at firework shows I'm not suggesting that anything could have been done to avoid it. But personally, I would find it reassuring if there was a statement providing more information. read more

Nice local spot: Limited attractions, which is nice for families of small children who don't want to walk for ages. Pricing per person: You pay to park $10, weekday tickets are $15, and you can't bring outside food, so account for $20 for lunch. Pirate Splash pad was a hit for the kids under 7, older kids had fun push the littles on the floating croc. The older kid attractions aka the Slides were intense in speed. Tucking your chin is a must if you don't want whiplash. lol Food was good here, serving sizes are large. So me and the moms got away with ordering kids meals. All and all, I'd come back. read more

Volente Beach Water Park - Summertime fun - Water Parks Near Me - Leander, Texas

It had been over 20 years since our last visit to Volente Beach, and it was fun to come back. This is a great water park for families with young kids because everything is close together, making it easy for little ones to enjoy the slides and play areas. Since it's a smaller park, the lines are also much shorter than at larger water parks, which is a huge plus. My biggest complaint is the water policy. I understand not allowing outside food and drinks, but not allowing guests to bring in their own water doesn't seem reasonable, especially in the Texas heat. Bottled water costs $3 each, and there's no good way to keep it cold throughout the day. There really should be accessible, free cold drinking water or refill stations available for guests. On such hot days, having easy access to drinking water shouldn't be a concern. read more

Pretty low key fun place for the kids. Small waterpark, short lines on water slides. Fin pool areas and lots of seating. Walking distance to a blocked off small private beach area. Attached bar, restaurant, corn hole, volleyball, and tons of picnic tables. The kids had a blast. We really enjoyed ourselves. read more

It really could be a spectacular spot....Except....for how filthy dirty the pool waters are!!! Absolutely NASTY. It's ridiculous how they will not ALLOW you to even bring WATER in with you. Your Thermal cups have to be empty when they search your bags. And I mean they go through your bags. There is plenty of shade for everyone and picnic tables. The lounge chairs around the pools are GONE by 11:02 am. The beach is so-so and dirty-ish. I mean minus the waterslides...you would save money and have a much more beautiful time going somewhere like Barton Springs Pool or to the Georgetown Blue Hole, even to Salado's watering holes off of Main St. read more

We took a group of students for an outing and we had several get hurt on the deck. It is sharp underneath and sliced noses, legs, and feet. There are many steep hills which make it difficult to get around. There are not very many rides and our kids were bored. They asked to go three hours earlier. The park overall wasn't very clean. The restaurant area was nice. read more

Great place for the kids! My children enjoyed the slides, we couldn't really hang out in the pool because kids were playing volleyball- but it's for the kids! We did use the QR code to order from Beachside Billy's and had appetizers/drinks delivered right to the table! That was really cool- though the app isn't very user friendly (separate review for them). The lifeguards teach station were very polite to the kids, attentive, and knowledgeable. They helped my kids understand the differences in their options to better make a decision! They didn't rush anyone and were all very approachable with questions. So focused on customer satisfaction that a slight delay on the slides was placed while my husband, some other adult, and a life guard went "diving " for a lost watch in the exit pool! (I know the owner of that watch was satisfied!) All in all, the waterpark is more just water slides and a "beach". It is definitely targeted towards younger adults/children. Overall ,worth the entry price. read more

This was a last minute thing, it was hot and we didn't want to go to TX Typhoon so we decided to check out Volente Beach. So glad we did!! The kids pirate ship play area is adorable and I love that it's small and contained, water is probably 18inches deep so I feel safe having the kids run around and everyone seemed super friendly and laid back. It felt like a mini vacation! The bigger pool has a volleyball play area and a little obstacle course for the kids. It's fairly shaded by trees and there are chairs and big beach loungers with umbrellas all around. There's also 2 big slides that are perfect for older kids and adults. There's something for everyone! Drinks are super reasonably priced and entry was $15 for military or veteran and $20 regular admission. We really enjoyed our time there, I like that there are servers and how easy it is to just order from the QR code at each table. Each pool (kid and bigger pool) has a bar nearby, service was extremely friendly and the ambience was exactly what we needed on a hot Texas day. My only critique is that their piña colada wasn't the best but I could probably do with a little less sugary drink anyhow lol. Keep in mind that the parking area is a block away from the park, they do offer a shuttle service but it's an easy walk as well. We walked there and shuttled on the way back since the driver was waiting and available. We didn't check out the actual beach but that's next in our list! read more

I went here for a private event and had so much fun! Great location, easy to get to from Austin and love that they are ecologically minded.

Volente Beach Water Park - Water Parks Near Me - Leander, Texas

Volente Beach is a smaller, local water park right on Lake Travis -- super fun for a summer day! They've got slides, a sandy beach area, and pools for all ages. It's not as overwhelming as the big water parks, which makes it nice for families with younger kids. Check ahead for hours and bring towels and sunscreen. read more

I found this place randomly. I was with my 3 kids and it was one of those 100 degree days. Paid at the entrance. Put our stuff on a table under the trees in the shade and spent the entire day going down slides. I absolutely love that the water is not chlorinated and comes from the lake!! The bungalows across the street looked really cute next time. I would stay there because when you rent one, your admission to the park is free. They had a little bar in there that served food and drinks, but we really did spend most of our time on the slides. The park is not huge but it has that family feel, like not so corporate you know. Anyway, my kids still talk about that place to this day a core memory for sure. Will be back. read more

Volente Beach Water Park - Water Parks Near Me - Leander, Texas

We enjoyed the food, the tables and atmosphere. The regular pool was fun; all the same depth and good for medium sized children with natural, unchlorinated lake water. However, our favorite part of water parks, the reason we don't just stay at the hotel pool, are the slides. I was super excited to enjoy the day wih my slender-built 10 year old son with the taco, toilet bowl, and two regular slides, but we both got stuck on the enclosed slide. We each had to push ourselves through from about 10 feet in. Then, when my son asked to go on the other one later specifically, he was told no he had to go on the enclosed one by the life guards. He had the slide mat, and got stuck again. After that, I did not trust going on any of the other slides. All in all, a good place to go if sticking in slides is not a deal breaker. read more

"A boutique waterpark" is what the lady at the admissions booth called it... PERFECT!! Lol. I wasn't really sure what to expect from this place after reading the Yelp reviews and listening to the word-of-mouth reviews, which almost all seemed to be pretty discouraging, but I'm so glad we decided to go anyway! My fiance and I decided to visit on the 4th of July. Parking was decent; plenty of space, accessible, and within reasonable walking distance from the park. Figuring out where the actual entrance to this place was, was kind of a challenge though. There were no obvious signs that instructed interested patrons to "PURCHASE TICKETS HERE." Because of this, we accidentally entered through the restaurant and took the scenic route all around the park, before backtracking to the front where we were finally able to sign waivers, pay and put on wristbands-- that was annoying. We changed (no mirrors in the restrooms, ladies!! Ugh!), rented lockers, and took to the waterslides. Now folks, because this is a "boutique waterpark," you're not going to find the plethora of slides that you would find at a Schlitterbahn, for instance. No folks, you get 4 slides. They were entertaining enough, and no massive crowds or lines on a major holiday, so that was plus for sure! The really fun areas were the pool (lake water with some chlorination) and the beach. The beach area is small with a limited amount of beach chairs, but large enough to enjoy a nice float or swim with your family and friends (inner tubes provided). For the babies, there is a separate kiddie pool. Overall, I'd say this place is fun for all ages and an all around good time, as long as you're not trying to compare it to an average waterpark, because that it is not... it's a "boutique waterpark", people... lol!! Love that. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back. read more

We've been invited on barges that leave this water park several times and each time we have been greeted by friendly staff. Great at giving directions for parking and the new pay machine at the entrance is easy to use and makes paying for parking easier. We need to spend the day at the park and not just using it for the barge. read more

Do not fall for the way they make this place sound online. It is a run down dirty place. We went for "Jaws on the water" movie and each paid $45. They said they will not be selling as many tickets this year because of Covid and we would be social distancing, but we were packed in the water like sardines. They mention several bars and restaurants, but there was a food truck with gross hamburgers, a tent that 2 ladies had set up with fajita tacos and the 2 bars with lines a dozen people long all afternoon and 1 bartender. They told us to purchase armbands so once in water, a waiter would come by and get our drink order, however, we did not see not one waiter and we held our neon light up most of the movie, thus we were each left with around $22 worth of armbands. Once movie was over, hundreds of people and their tubes are rushing to get out and it's pitch black. They had no lights to turn on so we could see where we were walking. They are all about the $$$. read more

Volente Beach Water Park - Owners response to me - Water Parks Near Me - Leander, Texas

I dont know what is up with all the poor reviews. My family and I love this water park. It's perfect for my kids and I love that beachside Billy's is close with their awesome food and drinks. We come here all the time and especially enjoyed the July 4th firework show. The only thing I dislike is when you're trying to call the park to figure out if it's open and no one answers the phone so you drive there only to find out it's closed. They should have automated system telling you hours of operation along with days it's open since they have random off days. read more

Volente Beach Water Park - The beach, sand, boats - Water Parks Near Me - Leander, Texas

Super fun place for my family! Only taking one star because the water in the pools was pretty dirty.

Only giving this place two stars because the ticket attendant and bartender were quite polite. It was a 45 minute drive for us and certainly not worth it. We just to came here for the beach, as this was going to be the first Beach my toddlers had been to. We just wanted to make Sandcastle's and play in the sand. We could not find the 'Beach' and upon asking we were told there is no beach this summer as the tide has not come in. *That SHOULD be stated on the website* The pirate ship was way to dangerous for my toddlers to play on so that only left us one option which was the other swimming pool. IMO It is not made for toddlers. It is super slippery around the pool area, very sharp and dangerous pool edges and the pool bottom was incredibly slimy. Also, there are so many inclines when walking anywhere and steep hillsides that just go straight down to a plummet with no fence or rope to (even somewhat) block it off.. so you have to 100% keep your small child with you at ALL times. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend it here if you have small children. read more

This is a mellow family waterpark with a nice setting. 20/$ is high considering the size of park and the 7/$ parking rate seems silly.....especially on slow days or entry after 4pm. Check it out after 4pm for discounted entry...that's a more reasonable fee for what is offered. Staff is very friendly. read more

This place is very underwhelming. The pool water is very dirty which is even more disappointing since the lake has been so low this summer. I would wish the pool was taken better care of when the beach isn't really an option. read more

This place truly is fantastic. I am. It one to give many water parks a 5 Star. But this one was definitely worthy of that and more. Friendly staff, very clean and safety conscious. Weights for different slides truly didn't take longer than about four minutes and this is on a 95°F day in June when everyone in South Texas is trying to cool off. The restaurant is completely off the chain, and did I mention again how clean this place is? Last time I was at a waterpark and South Texas, there were more use diapers abandon on the water side then there were native plants decorating the banks. One will not find that at this location for certain. read more

The swimming area here is the cleanest I've found yet in/near Austin. At $20pp though, it's a bit steep just to go swimming. For $5 more you can do the slides. We bought the pass but the mats are low quality and don't necessarily stay put, so it was a lot less fun than tube-d slides at Schlitterbahn. The parking area is a little far and very rocky/hilly, and it sucks that it's an extra $7. That's true for the landscape there in general. There is no sand in front of the swimming area. It's rocky af and not somewhere you want to be without (water) shoes on. The swimming area backs right up on to where people dock their boats and where rentable party barges take off, so you may get some free entertainment by way of the music/DJs they have on those. The bar area is pretty neat because it's outdoors, has a full bar, and has an actual resort feel. The swimming pool is usually packed with kiddos and the slides aren't that great, but the bar and lake swimming area get high marks from me. Still, I was so impressed with how clear the water was, we decided to buy the $50pp season pass, because it pays for itself in two visits. On the way out, though, I saw you could get a second visit for $12.99pp if you paid for it while exiting from your first visit, so if you think you'll only come twice, keep that in mind. read more

I spent the last weekend here with a group of friends and am still trying to wrap my head around how amazing it was. All staff members are cheerful, welcoming and accommodating, the restaurant is great, views are beautiful, park is fun and has something for everyone, and the convenience is unparalleled - everything is easily accessible. We rented out the lake house and I would highly recommend it. Very nice place, comfy beds, any kitchen gear you might need, large patio, TVs, etc. It is located just steps from the restaurant, convenience store (great prices), sand volleyball courts and the marina for boat rentals or chilling on the dock. Big shout out to Adam, who hung out with us quite a bit, Alex, Kara and all the other staff that made the weekend great. Keep up the good work. read more

What I love about Volente Beach is the lack of lines for slides and entry. You're not fighting over a spot on the beach or a picnic table. I also love the U shaped slide! Just thinking about it is thrilling! What I don't love about Volente is the lack of upkeep on the slides. One of my friends got a piece of the slide up his fingernail while riding it. They give you little yoga mats to prevent this but when you hold on to the mat, you're setting yourself up for some slide splinters. They didn't really offer any help with it either and just reminded him that he signed a waiver upon entry. I also don't love that the sand volleyball court has about 2-3 inches of sand over concrete with large and jagged rocks scattered throughout. Several of us walked away with bloody knees and elbows from learning about the lack of sand depth the hard way. It just seems that if someone put a little more care and attention into this place, it could be epic. Until then, it's kind of a death trap with bells and whistles. read more

Awesome atmosphere for the whole family ,staff was super friendly and owner came around to ensure everything was perfect for our day.

Restaurant and bar on site! All around a very nice little water park!! read more

The staff was very nice. The drinks at the bar, super. The pools use water from the lake. I believe that the park HAS made upgrades it was not as run down as previous reviews stated. The young lifeguards were also attentive (unlike other reviews have stated) they must have hired more responsible employees. We went in July. Bus loads of tiny campers unloaded right before we were going to spend a nice relaxing day at the park. I did not see any little ones take restroom breaks. I am convinced the water turned more yellow as the day progressed. (Do they use chlorine?) My older teenager would not go in the water. You may want to call and ask if any camps or day care centers are scheduled to go there the day you go. Ps: My husband warned me that the port a potty was disgusting, right when the park opened in the morning?! I think real little kids would like this park. Food: The 3 meat eaters in my family got sick from Beachside Billy burgers. I recommend the bean and cheese nachos. We almost left the restaurant because the employees were having a meeting at a table, and did not acknowledge us for a long time. The Slides...I was too afraid to try the skateboard ramp looking water slide because most adults almost touched the very top of the slide. There is one slide that the kids call 'the toilet bowl' because you end up in a part of the slide that looks like you get flushed down a toilet. My younger teenager hit his head on it. I had to sit up and push myself down 1/2 to 3/4 of the 'slow water slide' and I am an average size adult. Last but not least sanitation. The cloth covered lawn chairs...eeew. Stained and dirty. Bandaids and litter. I wanted to enjoy myself, maybe if we went at a different time? The most enjoyable part for me was going to the private beach and standing on the steps while little fish tickled my feet. I hope you have a better experience if you decide to go. Much love. read more
