I never thought I'd have to give a ramen restaurant one star, but here we are. We arrived around 7:15 p.m. (they close at 9), and the restaurant was mostly empty. Still, we were seated in a section where our server, Esther, was sweeping and cleaning up for the night. Why seat guests in an area you're already closing down? The biggest issue: she wore the same blue gloves to sweep, pick things up off the floor, handle payments, and serve food and drinks without ever changing them. It was unhygienic and honestly disgusting. Trying to give the place a chance, I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and subbed corn for fungus. My bowl arrived with corn anyway. Esther asked if I had a food allergy or if I wanted her to take it back and have the cooks remove it for me, but since I don't like sending food back for a variety of reasons, I decided to pick it out myself. The broth was bland and not spicy at all; it tasted like chicken broth. Another issue is they use chili oil to make the broth spicy, but I'm not sure that's the right way to build spice in a ramen broth. I've been to plenty of ramen restaurants that use spicy miso to add depth and heat, and it makes a big difference. My bowl was also missing bamboo, which was listed on the menu. When I mentioned it, she offered to bring bamboo and another bowl of broth, which did taste better, but by that point the experience was already ruined. What made it worse was overhearing her tell another table that she was "distracted" because of my situation, more than once, while I was sitting right there. Completely unprofessional. We also ordered the Kobe Beef Roll, which was supposed to come with fried asparagus but had sautéed asparagus instead. When it arrived, we had to ask for appetizer plates and soy sauce cups. Then she reached over our table mid-meal to take the soy sauce bottle to refill it, and reached back over again to return it. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. Between the poor hygiene, incorrect orders, bland food, and unprofessional service, our date night was completely ruined. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Our group of 14 chose to do $29.99 AYCE and we got out money's worth. From edamame, gyoza, chicken karaage, rolls, sashimi, jalapeño hamachi, soup dumplings and ramen. Our server worked hard to keep up with us - delivering food and removing the empty plates. The restaurant itself is open and has an industrial look with Asian flair. I did like it here.
Food: I liked the pork bao dumplings! The soup was good and the filling was moist. The edamame was good but nothing too crazy about it. I've had better before. The pork steamed buns were delicious! The sauce was good and the meat was cooked well, with the cucumber adding a nice crunch. I had the pork shoyu ramen which was delicious! The broth was flavor and the perfect temperature when it came out. I liked the pork it had a nice seared flavor. I wish there were more toppings because it was $14, but they gave me one small piece of pork and only like 4 toppings. Service: Some of the appetizers came out after our entrees, so we were less hungry for them at that point. There was no wait so we were seated right away. Server was nice! Atmosphere: It was warm (nice to cut out the cold outside) and there was lots of busy chatter. Clean on the inside. Overall: Good food, fast service, but just a little pricy for the amount of food given
We stopped at Volcano Ramen after running some errands in the area. Located in the Orchard Town Center, this restaurant has ample parking. Upon arrival we were quickly seated and the service here was very quick. The inside of the restaurant is decorated quite cute. As for the food goes, the pork buns were delicious, the gyoza were perfectly crisped, and our ramen came out fast. I will say, I do wish the spice level was a bit higher, however, the ramen didn't lack any depth and was still flavorful.
Perfect spot for a cold night. Place was suspiciously empty while the other restaurants in the center were busy. Glad I took the risk because service was super fast. Got a bottle of sake for myself. I felt judged. But whatever. It was good and I needed to take the edge off after a long and tiring travel day. The ramen was awesome. And huge. Got the Pork Shoyu. That pork belly was soooo good and tender. Perfectly prepared. The veggies includes bean sprouts, bok choy, corn and green onions. It also had sliced eggs. I was curious why they don't have bamboo as well since that's pretty standard but then heard a table behind me ask to remove it from their order so maybe that's just not included with the pork shoyu. Not a big deal to me as I don't usually seek it out but if you do, it's an add on option I guess. Overall, impresses with the quality, taste and serving size and will likely be back when I'm back in town. Only downside is limited bar.
This is the rating based on food mainly honestly. Walked in and saw a line and was like ooooo there is a line so was kinda excited at first. The inside is quite spacious and has plenty of seating! We also got seated pretty fast despide the line. I got a waiter who i asked for recommendations but sadly didn't get one cuz it was his first day but he still helped so props to him. Nothing too impressing for costumer service and nothing bad. Costumer service 8/10 Okay here is the food part. Okay for a ramen, first all of them were cold to me (I tried them all). Like ramen should be hot not cold. I asked the worker to microwave it and he did in front of me lolz (so kinda appreciate it). My friend said they should've just made me a fresh one instead of them just microwaving it and she didn't like that they did that. Like I'm not too picky but I would rather my food be boiling hot than it being cold. I will say this WASN'T genuine ramen. Will agree to a review I read and say it does say it caters to its demographic. Hey will give props on presentation tho. Looks pretty but looks deceiving. Food 2/10 Overall was it meh. Needed it to be more authentic. Especially with this weather I was expecting it hot. Edit: as I'm reading reviews the eggs were also definitely overcooked for them being advertised as soft eggs and again for those who know genuine and authentic ramen this place ain't it. But hey if you eat cup noodles and really like them and really are willing to pay the price then this is for you. I've had better homemade ramen tho.
My fiancé and I both had the spicy ramen bowls..not bad..not bad at all. Sushi was ok, not as fresh as some places in the area. Server seemed rushed and never really had time to refill our waters. Cool place overall, would come back here to eat some spicy ramen again.
"Awesome choice for ramen lovers! Their tonkotsu broth was delicious--one of the best I've had in town. The rolls were decent, and the service was friendly. I will definitely be coming back for sure; the kiddos love the ramen!"
Amazing food, amazing service. Overall just a great experience. I got the Hokkaido spicy beef ramen and the flavor was perfect with just the right level of spice. The eggs were amazing and my friend and I both got extra. Definitely recommend going here.
Good portion for a fair price. Chicken karaage was too dry for my taste. Wish pieces were bigger and juicy. The broth was flavorful and very rich. This ramen used thinner ramen than other places. Almost reminded me of thin egg noodles. Definitely different than what I am used to and was expecting. Overall 3 stars.
Volcano Ramen is the real deal! I think everyone is after a good ramen place, and Volcano Ramen is that place. I've visited several times now and had wonderful service and delicious food every time. I even showed up two nights in a row at closing time, and they not only took me in but allowed me to enjoy a meal while they closed up shop for the night. I like things hot, so I always start with the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and then ask for spicy oil and seasoning to bring it up to the level I like it. The portion is about perfect, and the base spicy level is decent; you might have to build it up a little if you like it on the firey side. I typically order the shishito peppers to start, which are always cooked to perfection and come out quickly. The prices are reasonable and the restaurant is large and well decorated with traditional decor. Seldom is it extremely busy so the noise level is good. Overall a great place to get a bowl of ramen or a variety of other dishes.

You never know what you will receive when ordering ramen or pho for delivery. Our Volcano Ramen order was excellent from the very beginning. The package kept the ramen piping hot and the broth separate, allowing us to curate some new combinations on our own. The Spicy Tonkatsu had the right amount of spicy and creamy tonkatsu flavor. The pork belly was generous and flavorful on its own. Even with delivery, the soft egg was hot and added a silky layer to the dish. The Chili Pork Ramen was extra spicy and very fresh. The spicy overwhelmed all the other flavors, and the ground pork settled to the bottom. The shishitos were good but did not have a lot of flavors. We added a few drops of soy sauce, taking the flavor up several levels. I also recommend the Volcano Roll. read more

I went to Volcano Ramen for the first time this Saturday. I arrived there at about 4:30pm. It wasn't too crowded and we were seated immediately. The restaurant is large which plenty of seating and has a great ambiance. I wish I would have caught our waiter's name because he was so attentive, with out being overbearing. We started with the sesame balls. They were absolutely amazing, quite literally the best sesame balls I've ever had. I ordered the spicy beef ramen. It was very good! The broth was perfect! It had a kick but wasn't so spicy that it wasn't enjoyable. We then topped our meal off with mochi ice. It was the perfect treat to finish the meal! I will be back to Volcano Ramen asap! I'm wanting to try the spicy chicken ramen and deep fried bananas next! read more

ICE COLD POACHED EGG BAIT AND SWITCH RAMEN False advertisement I got the pork buns and beef ramen during lunch. Pork buns use the chashu. I would have liked for them to sear it for more texture--below-average pork buns. Beef ramen and broth weren't salty like in other Roman places, which I liked. The beef cut was not that flavorful, no seaweed like described in menu, beef is well done and not medium rare, like in their picture menu. What ruined it for me was the ice-cold poached egg. I went to make my broth creamy by breaking the egg yolk, I punched the yolk, but it didn't break. I got excited thinking It was a cured egg yolk. I popped in my mouth and realized it was ice cold. Honestly, it ruined my appetite. The waiter did come by to ask how my ramen was. I did tell him and his manager about it. His manager did admit that it's pre-made and is done this way to serve the Ramen fast. I can see that, but it shows me that they prioritize speed over quality. Granted, it was me and two other people diners. The manager offered to remake it, but I turned it down due to losing my appetite and faith in the freshness of the food served. I only tried the broth, a slice of beef, one bite of the noodles, and the ice-cold egg. I went to pay and was disappointed that the manager didn't offer to comp the ramen. I paid my bill and tipped the waiter as it wasn't his fault, and I left. I recommend eating pho located in the shopping center over the volcano. read more

Loved how the place looks and makes you feel when you get to your seat. The service is quick, kind, and attentive. We were able to be seated quickly and had no delay for our food. The ramen was tasty and the takoyaki wasn't overwhelmed from fish flakes. This is a great spot in the Westminster area for good ramen and Japanese cuisine. read more

Before even entering the restaurant you see beautiful art and nice entrance. We arrived very early and it was empty, then we picked our own table. The server Anna was very nice and told us what we could order. Any ramen could be spicy or not and desserts rice and "buns" are featured in the menu. The food was great and the ramen was amazing, but the beef is a bit strange. Anyone looking for something super spicy would not be very happy but it is spicy enough to get your nose watering. The food looks exactly like it is in the pictures and are able to take toppings off if you want. Overall 4/5 stars. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner. The service is amazing - we were quickly sat down and our food came very fast as well. We ordered the pork buns and takoyaki to start. It was slightly weird because these came out after we got our ramens. The appetizers were okay. The pork bun didn't have much flavor besides the sauce and the bun was dry and dense instead of light a fluffy. The takoyaki was mushy once you broke the slightly fried shell. My boyfriend was hunting for the octopus inside. I would also say that the octopus was chewy and hard instead of soft and tender. I got the tonkatsu ramen and my boyfriend got the beef ramen. Again, these were okay. The broths had a decent flavor but lukewarm. They didn't have as much depth as one would expect from a ramen broth. I did appreciate that the poached egg was not completely runny. Neither the pork belly nor the beef in our ramens was very flavorful or tender. We would likely come again if we were in the area and looking for something that's fast. read more

I'm going to take a minute to tamp down this restaurant's 4 star rating which is way too high. Appetizers are bland...all of them. The ramen is a very poor take on ramen. Even by American standards its terrible. Oh and none of the menu pics look like the actual food. The ramen egg they serve is not a marinated boiled egg. It a very very soft boiled egg they just crack into the bowl....lazy af. So tonight, I thought let's try fried rice as it's really hard to mess up. Well, they did. Absolutely terrible. Rice mixed with schiracha and over cooked chicken pieces. Oh and a huge handful of bell peppers which don't work at all. No egg. This restaurant is owned and run by Chinese so it's a mystery they can't make decent fried rice or a soup noodle dish. This place is a waste of money and calories. Warning you in advance. read more
