Sadly, not the Sakana I remember…read more Sakana used to be such a wonderful restaurant. I've been coming here for 10 years and it was my go-to Japanese spot. Over the last year and a half, I've noticed the food quality really decline. I hadn't been back in almost a year, but my sons convinced me to give it another try tonight. Unfortunately, we were all disappointed. The karaage chicken was hard as a rock and overcooked. The katsudon was also way overcooked and lacked flavor. The only thing that was okay was the shrimp shumai. Service was rough too. Our table wasn't pre-bussed, and we felt pretty ignored. When the waitress did ask how it was and I told her she then just wanted to argue with me about the chicken being well done and not even edible and I even showed her I couldn't even eat it. Wasn't even chewable. It was so cooked. It's just so sad to see how far this place has fallen. I really hope they can turn it around because having a good Japanese restaurant nearby meant a lot to us.
