I was craving sushi and wanting something close to home when I found this place via a search on Google. It had high ratings so I read reviews which influenced what I ordered. I ordered the Red Dragon roll, the champion sashimi, and the Denver roll to go via online ordering through their website. The ordering process was not ideal for a first time customer because none of the items had descriptions so I was looking between their website and then the ordering platform. Once you order it gives you a time frame but I never got another notice when my order was actually ready which wasn't ideal. My order was correct and packaged very pretty for takeout. The Red Dragon roll was just okay. In my opinion, the tuna on top of it is sliced very thin, so it's not much of a show stopper especially for what they consider to be a special roll. It had a lot of rice. It was fine but I don't think I'd order it again because it wasn't memorable in my opinion. The champion sashimi was kinda spicy which I didn't expect but it was delicious. I would order more of this or something similar to this preparation next time. The Denver roll was refreshing. It's wrapped in cucumber and it comes with a special sauce. I liked it. It was pretty filling too. I could see myself ordering that again if I'm craving a lighter option. I'd order the champion sashimi again and try something new next time for my second option. read more

Overpriced - good quality but SMALL rolls and very little fish, plus some false advertising. We eat out regularly at several sushi places, even 2 close to here. And I make sushi at home. We ordered 3 rolls, Tempura Udon, two miso, and Veg Tempura app...$80 and we we still very hungry when we left The rolls do not have enough fish to deserve the $14-16 price tag they charge. Veg Tempura = 1/5 ...maybe worst tempura I've ever had. batter was super low-quality / poor execution. For $7 app it was about $2 worth in quantity and $1 in quality (yes fast food quality). Melody Roll = LIES. Menu & web site photo show and say crab on top... it does not. Server says "Oh, I guess they need to update the menu"... $15 for this roll? Ah, NO THANK YOU. $12, maybe. But it might have been really goodw ith the crab on it. House Roll... tiny and no fish (literally, just shrimp + Krab) for $12!? for a $9-10 roll, tops. This is a $5 roll at the grocery store, and the same size too! Red Dragon Roll... good flavor, if it had 50% more fish it would be great, and worth the $16 they charge for it... $12 roll the way we got it Udon... good broth. What a hidden gem off the beaten path! We were on our way to the airport and didn't want to have to go into the city to get sushi, so I looked for something along the outskirts of Denver. Lo and behold: Sushi North. It was around 4pm, and we were the only customers at the time. Eventually another dad with two kids came in. For the most part, the ambience was peaceful and the decorations were simple and tasteful. We ordered 6 rolls: - 1 Red Dragon roll: Colorful and lots of flavors, and although it seems to be popular, it wasn't my favorite. Although it was an intricate roll, I thought it just tasted ok. - 1 Crunchy spicy tuna roll: One of my fave rolls that we ordered. The crunch was perfect. The roll had a nice kick. The tuna was delicious. - 1 Salmon roll: A very simple roll. It was good and we just wanted something plain to pair with everything else. - 1 Garden roll: My husband thought we had too many meat rolls, so I suppose the garden roll was ordered to offset the meat rolls. It tasted ok. I think the addition of avocado would bring it up a notch. - 2 Kobe beef rolls: We liked the beef roll so much, that we ordered a second one! This was another favorite of the night. Love this place! I moved to CO from FL 2 years ago and wasn't impressed with any of the sushi places I tried in the North Denver metro area until I found Sushi North. SN is sooo good and the staff and owners are so sweet. I've never had issues not being acknowledged and getting seated. Service is prompt and food is fresh and tasty. This is some of the best sushi I've ever had. The flavors are crisp and fresh with amazing use of fresh vegetables (peppers and tomatoes) to accent the fish. Everything about this sushi preparation was about highlighting and accenting the individual flavors vs drowning it in sauce or heat. Artful mastery!! I thought this place was very much a middle-of-the-road, ok-but-not-great suburban sushi restaurant. I'm sorry, but you can't just make any dish "spicy" by slicing huge chunks of jalapeño on top. How about a spicy ponzu or a spicy aioli at the most basic? Bamboo Sushi downtown does habanero infused masago, which is absolutely bomb. The dishes were fine, but not creative and not memorable and not something I'd come back for. Chopping up some tomatoes and bell peppers and onions for garnish is not creative (or very good sushi either). read more

The California roll was absolutely perfect. Had just the right amount of crunch and the seaweed was fresh. The monkey brain was phenomenal. But with EYES like Microscope we managed to find this establishment in this part of Neighborhood. I really wanted to give this place five stars, but for a couple of reasons I had to deduct one star. First of all, the service was very professional, very polite, and efficient. Thank you, Nut. Second, I had the Sashimi lunch, and as you can see from my photo, the portions are lovely, and the fish is very fresh and tasty. And lastly, the price. I really felt like that $21 I spent including tax and tip was a bit much for a lunch that was not that filling. I would happily pay that price for dinner. Personally, I can't stand jazz music. Came in for an early afternoon snack/geriatric dinner (no offense to those who eat early!!) We has no wait, since we walked in a minute after they opened at 4:30. We were hoping for a good happy hour after a very long workday... or at least some kind of happy hour. Unfortunately there was none. The sushi is pricier than many places, but it was delicious, so I didn't mind paying an extra couple of bucks for it. The service was fantastic, and I did leave there feeling more refreshed, which is worth a star at least. If not for the kind and sweet server, I probably would have given this place an average rating based on value for the quality and quantity of food... but, I am a sucker for good service. Ive never had a yellow tail roll where they grind up the tuna its always been a small piece of fish. It had the consistency of baby food slimy. I asked the sushi chef and he said its softer that way. These people won't take your food allergies seriously!!! Be careful!! I wish I could give zero stars because they almost killed me. I have a severe egg allergy and I called multiple times to ask about the different rolls to make sure the ones I was interested in didn't have egg. When I went to pick up my roll, they combined it with a roll that had mayonnaise (which has egg) with my roll even though I specifically told them not to. When I called back to get a refund for my ONE roll which was like $7 or $8 they wouldn't refund me. They wanted me to bring it allll the way back for a fesh one which I didn't have time for. However, one item I noticed was the statement showing 'tip' amounts, i.e. 18% 20%, was based on the total including tax. Was this to trick the customers?
