Walking in and seeing the cherry blossom decorations and additional menu items on the wall, I knew I was walking into a long standing mom and pop restaurant. It was tucked in the back of a shopping strip and was not too busy however it was a weekday. The food was nothing too out of the ordinary. The service was good. We ordered cheese wontons that had a good amount of filling, yaki udon with lots of vegetables and chicken, and chicken teriyaki plate with gyoza. It wasn't overly sauced or seasoned. Next time, I would go for the ramen or katsu. read more

This place is a gem. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. Friendly staff, unbelievably delicious food, all at a good price.

Quick, friendly, fresh and all in all amazing service. This was our second time coming here I don't know why it took us so long to come back once more. Shame on us. The food has amazing flavor and the vegetables are super fresh. We had the classic #1 Teriyaki Chicken that comes with white rice and fresh steamed vegetables. We also had the Cream Cheese Wontons are crispy yet warm on the inside with a burst of flavor. Highly recommend. They have a great amount of indoor seating and it is very well kept and clean. The whole team was amazing and great to be around. Support this local restaurant! read more

One of our favorite places to eat. The owner is lovely and the food is fantastic. Always tastes fresh. Don't sleep on this place

The owner Ashley is so very sweet! We had just found this location, growing up around the area but never knew it was over here! Great spot for sure, you really do eat the best foods at hole in the restaurant locations. The food was great, I got a salmon bowl and he got the Kobe beef bowl. Definitely well sized for a single person portion, it's delicious! The place is decorated very cutely, and cozy. Not too many decors or anything crazy. As for it being four stars is mainly just because it would be a great reminder to notify your customers if they do need boxes, which are located by the front you are able to grab them. Since it was just the two of them, it was hard to get her when needed as she got side tracked but it happens to everyone! read more

Have you ever been to Seattle and come away from it deeply missing the Teriyaki you had there? If so, THIS IS THE WAY. Tokyo Teriyaki is a diamond in the rough restaurant with a delicious Chicken Teriyaki bowl that rivals the best I've had in Seattle joints. The charbroiled earthiness of the meat, mixed with the sweet umami sauce, paired with flavorful rice and delectable vegetables that taste clean and of high quality. I'm picky about brassicas, as I can often taste a kind of funk with them, and the vegetables served here were high-quality, slightly blanched, still with a crunch that felt refreshing when paired with the rest of the bowl's ingredients. The restaurant was very busy in spite of it being close to closing, with lots of activity for take-out as well as dining in, leaving me a sense this is a community favorite within the Northglenn neighborhood. Having traveled about an hour to try this out, that was a good sign, as was the extra teriyaki sauce readily available at each table. There were some really artfully done wall hangings as well, that really tied the place together. It felt cozy, and I'll make the trip again just to have their bowl! Really hit the spot I've missed for years, and so glad I found this awesome restaurant. Give this place a try! You will not be disappointed. read more

Vacation to visit my sister. She'd never had Japanese food before. We chose this place. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Right off, we were greeted like royalty. The nice lady said her name was Youngsun. She took our order and served it with the brightest smile and friendliest demeanor. The food was amazing and we loved every part of it. The value was incredible! I really want to find a place like this where we live. I'd be there every week. read more

The lunch special of teriyaki chicken and gyoza is delicious and the portion size is generous. The chicken has a savory charred flavor and the vegetables are crisp, fresh, and tender. There is extra teriyaki sauce on the table as well. The service is prompt and friendly. The space is cozy and well kept. You can tell there is pride and care taken in ownership and the food. My girlfriend and I stopped in after visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. We have 15+ years in the food and beverage industry coming from Southern California and have NEVER met an owner as kind, welcoming and hospitable as we did today. Everything's clean, welcoming. The food is delicious, hot and fresh. They have a house made spicy teriyaki that really adds some layers to the bowls. Both the chicken and beef are solid choices. We absolutely loved it. Got our food quickly and had a nice conversation with the owner who is so sweet. Would absolutely recommend! read more

The foods always fresh and delicious. I order online for pick up and it's always ready at the time that's quoted.

Amazing place. Super friendly staff, great food. A little hidden, but it will not disappoint. A must for Japanese food.

I want feeling great today and skipped dinner last night, so I was craving I healthy. I first came here 20 plus years ago after moving to the area. I don't remember why I stopped coming, but I'm glad I came today. (I think it might have been because I could find more affordable lunch specials elsewhere.) Today I ordered the chicken and beef lunch special. The portions were generous and all the food were healthy, lean, fresh and tasty! The new twist to order and pay before being seated at a table was odd. As other reviews noted, this casual eatery was spotless and comfortable. *Minus one star because I think the vegetables could be upgraded, imo.. Maybe some snow peas or squash. The cabbage and carrots were good, but they are cheap and hardly indulgent. Thanks for still being here! read more

Extremely toxic workplace. workers are put through intense emotional stress to bring food to the tables of customers. despite experience or training, the criticism is not constructive. The food used to be better. but the chicken is dry, there is too much breading on the tempura, the rice is dry and I they used to put thick sauce on the bowls themselves, but now the sauce is just thin, and there is no flavor. prices are too high, and manager is financially irresponsible. read more

I eat here all the time and am trying to support restaurants that I love during trying times. I order vegetable tempura and get this skimpy order. Nit at all what I normally get. Tokyo Teriyaki - onion rings and dipping sauce in a styrofoam container - Japanese Near Me - Northglenn, Colorado

I was pleasantly surprised with Tokyo Teriyaki. The restaurant is fairly small and a bit dated, so if you're looking for atmosphere this probably won't be the place. But everything was very clean. We stopped in around 1:30ish on a Saturday afternoon and there were quite a few tables. We seated ourselves and the waitress came over quickly to get our drink order. Menu has different variations of chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki. The menu item that caught my eye was the Sukiyaki but I was informed by our waitress that this took 20-25 minutes to prepare. We needed to get on with our day so I ordered the chicken and vegetable bowl and he ordered the Tokyo bowl. Our dishes arrived quickly and were nice and hot. Soy sauce and extra teriyaki are in bottles on the table which was a nice touch. Everything was prepared to our liking and was tasty. We will return again when in the area. read more

After a long day of flying HNL to LAX and then LAX to DEN, my hunger pains were satisfied by a recommendation from my so to try Tokyo Teriyaki's Chicken and Steak. So I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken and Steak Combo Plate that comes with a side of rice and steamed vegetable medley of primarily Cabbage with a few sliced Carrots and Broccoli. I ordered an additional side of (what turns out to be primarily a side of steamed Cabbage) and an order of Udon Soup. Sue and Sam provided exceptional service and explained their extensive menu and made "in house" Teriyaki & Spicy Sauces that make elevate their meats with a Tantalizing Terrific Teriyaki Temple of Taste! The Udon noodles were cooked perfect in a tasty broth with green onion and fish cake. Bought my son a $25.00 gift certificate as his reward for taking me here! I'll be back again soon to explore more of their great eats! read more

Location is a bit hard to find, but the food was great! We we're staying nearby and the food was quick and delicious!

I've been a regular customer for a few years now. Their yaki udon, prawn tempura, and beef teriyaki are highly recommended.

Stopped in here today for a quick bite before the gym. This place is pretty damn good! I ordered the spicy beef teriyaki bowl, which comes with thinly sliced beef, veggies and rice. Nothing too difficult, but definitely very good. The prices are comparable to other places in the area, and the portions are just right. You're probably wondering what's with the four stars?? Well, since this was my first time at this place and ordered something as easy as beef teriyaki, I may just stop back in here to order something a little more difficult just to see if other menu items are as good as the one I ordered today. Stay tuned foodies... read more

This place was incredible. The food was fresh. The prices were reasonable. The portions sizes we're good. The whole experience was awesome. The food wasn't that 'deep fried greasy battered' food you get served at most places. Even the fried rice was light and fluffy. Seriously. Go here. Eat the food. It's amazeballs. read more

In town on business and looking for some good food to eat. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to give Tokyo Teriyaki a try. The restaurant itself is clean and very simple. Tables are a little small and decor is minimal. The first sign for me that this Japanese restaurant would be so-so was there were no chopsticks. I ordered the gyoza to start and the chicken and beef combination. The gyoza is deep fried. I like mine fried crisp on the bottom and then steamed to finish them off. Their version was deep fried. The flavor was average. The chicken and beef combination was just okay. The most disappointing thing was the food was not remotely hot. It was barely warm. I like my food to come out of the kitchen hot...like it's freshly cooked. The vegetables were very over-cooked. The cabbage, carrots, broccoli had zero crunch whatsoever. Overall a below average experience. read more

Friendly service. Clean inside. Started out with the onion ring appetizer. $6 for 6 normal sized onion rings? Really? Wow! More expensive per pound than beluga caviar. These seem EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. Nothing to return here for. Overpriced and average with a stale, uninviting decor. read more
