The previous owners were wonderful. This new team did a shoddy uneven job with a simple t-shirt hem.

on time and best service, polite staff 10/10. Recommend them to anyone in the area. I've been bringing my clothes to Vogue Cleaners for months now, and they never disappoint. The quality of their cleaning is top-notch everything comes back looking brand new and perfectly pressed. It's hard to find a place you can trust with your favorite pieces, but this is definitely it read more

I'd like everyone to pull up a seat. This is a tale about how you ruin customer loyalty and create detractors to your business with a poor experience that ends up in a public forum. I took a rather small set of clothing to Vogue Cleaners. Now this isn't my first time there and I've spent a considerable amount of $ over the years. My thought is that you do get what you pay for and they are certainly one of the pricier options out there. They offer 24-hour service so my thought was that if I dropped of my clothes on TUESDAY morning, surely everything would be done by THURSDAY afternoon. Previous experiences and expectations aligned and since there was no word from Vogue on Tuesday or Wednesday, I was expecting a Thursday pickup without issue. Mind you the order was relatively small - no more than 10 pieces, all tops of varying materials but nothing unusual. THURSDAY AFTERNOON Vogue Cleaners calls me to inform me that one piece had discoloration BUT it would be ready by pick time (4:30PM). They called to confirm if I was okay with the timing. I was. Due to scheduling, I arrived at the cleaners at 3:45pm to discover not 1 but 2 pieces would not be ready at all on Thursday but would be available Friday after 9AM. Wait what? I decided to pay my bill and on the drive home I called Vogue and stated my disappointment in their service and requested a partial refund only to be met with an argumentative and aggressive attendant who spent 10 mins blaming ME for the situation: - I should have told them it was a "rush" job - They were doing ME a favor by taking extra time to get things cleaned So let's review shall we? They process orders every morning. I told them I would be there to pick up my clothes on Thursday. Nowhere is it posted on the receipt "please tell us it's a rush order if you want your items on time." Why did I receive a call status hours before the pick up time that all would be ready only to discover not one but two items wouldn't be ready. And when asking them to be responsible for their actions? It's the customer's fault. Got it. This isn't about the money, it's about business. Partial refund would have run you what $10? Now it's going to cost the business a whole lot more because I'm not spending another $ at this establishment. And they're pricey? No sir. No ma'am. If you can't be trusted with a few shirts, imagine if this was a suit for a business meeting or a wedding or some other major event. When businesses show you who they are, believe em. I don't think it's owned by the Kim's anymore. read more

I took my peacoat to be dry cleaned last Monday. While dropping it off, the woman noticed there was a small hole on the interior of my left pocket as something had dropped through the lining. I asked if it could potentially be sewed as well & was told they could have the cleaning & alteration done the following Wednesday by 5pm. I was quoted $35 for the cleaning & told they could call me with a quote for the alteration once the tailor came in the next day. She stated they would not start the alteration work prior to calling me, giving me an updated quote, & me giving an ok to proceed with the work. The work week passes & I've received no phone calls. I decide to follow up with them on my lunch break Friday afternoon to see if I can just bypass the alteration & just do the cleaning if it would mean getting my coat back sooner since it had been 40 degrees that entire week. When I called the woman I dropped the coat off to agreed and said they could have the coat cleaned by Monday instead. Thirty minutes later, I have a missed call & voicemail from them saying that the tailor had actually already processed the alteration & that the cost would be $20 for the alteration, $35 for the cleaning & $55 in total. There was no apology offered for their mistake in jumping the gun on the repair prior to me giving the okay for it. When I went to pick up my coat yesterday, I asked to speak with the owner, Avni who doubled down on this poor service. Before I could finish explaining why I was frustrated at the lack of communication & fully expecting the business to take ownership for their mistake, she cuts me off to tell me that things like this have actually happened before & that other customers where understanding... Your business habitually altering customers' clothes prior to getting the consent you state you will request is not the flex you think it is. I also am not those other people. I let her know I don't think I should be responsible for the alteration charge since I did not authorize it. She then offers $5 off as if that makes up for anything. I tell her I am not paying the alteration fee & that she or whoever prematurely had the tailor sew the pocket to pay the fee. She scoffs and asks if I want a free alteration and if I don't want the tailor to be paid, then says fine, the tailor can come in the next business day & undo the alteration... I refuse & tell her I need my coat THAT day. At this point it is beyond clear she does not plan to take any ownership for THEIR mistake or offer a meaningful customer service resolution such as a future business credit equal to the cost of the alteration, SOMETHING, I mean a "we're sorry" is FREE so I end the call. I pay the full cost of $55. Mind you this alteration is bulky, tailor stitched interior pocket together then did not resew & attach the pocket to the interior. This was my first experience with this business but Avni's piss poor professionalism & customer service skills, & the mid tailoring ensured it would be my last. read more

Vogue cleaners is a really amazing place considering they were quick with my order and while they assisted me they remained respectful and kind. I had an emergency in which I needed to get my zipper fixed so I went to Vogue cleaners where they fixed the zipper on my dress. Such a wonderful experience I'd like to share out and I'd recommend you guys to attend as well. I encourage you guys to come and receive good quality from vogues cleaners, read more

I was not satisfied with the One Price Cleaners and Barry Regent is so far from my Hyde Park home. I asked a friend for a referral and he recommended Vogue Cleaners. I was so dissatisfied with the service. I took a linen suit in for cleaning. I was charged $22 for both pieces which was comprable to Barry Regent pricing. When I got home and took the suit out of the packaging I noticed it looked very wrinkled. I know linen is hard to press, but I had never had this suit returned looking like it had not been serviced at all. I decided not to take it back due to a fear they would mess it up. I will never go back or recommend this cleaners. They want to charge Barry Regent prices for One Price Quality. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Used to be excellent when the wonderful Kims owned and ran it. I took a jacket in the other day with stains around the collar. I asked if they could remove the stains. "What caused the stains?" the person asked. Hello? Then I was told it was not likely and anyway they were the result of "wear and tear." I took the item home and washed it myself. Voilà! No more stains. Never again. read more

Mr. and Mrs. Kim were WONDERFUL. It's so sad to see the new owners run such a lousy business. They are rude, inexeperienced and have zero customer service. I brought my wedding dress in to have it cleaned. They called me 2 weeks later to tell me they had sent it to an outside company that couldn't clean. I was never told they were sending it to a 3rd party. I have received a call saying the donation truck was on the way to get my clothing. Most importantly, they do just an average job of cleaning. There are many great cleaners in Hyde Park, this is not one of them. read more

Extremely reliable dry cleaner who has done our weekly dry cleaning for over a year. She takes good care of our nice things. She is never late with an order. She bought the business from the prior owner, inheriting the stellar staff, and service has not slipped. read more

Wow, it truly is time to leave Chicago. I used to love seeing Mr. and Mrs. Kim on a semi-regular basis. They were pricey but worth it. I hadn't realized that they turned it over to... whoever these people are that run it now. But I can tell you that even though I live and work down the street, I will not be back here. Rude, argumentative, and no longer worth even half the cost. read more

Was in a jam and they hooked me up with not only same day dry cleaning but had it done in a couple hours.

The new owners go above and beyond offering to clip loose balls of thread & fabric and removing lint and animal hair as needed.

I have used this dry cleaners for the past year and never had an issue until the new owners. I gave them my suit to dryclean and shirt to repair which they said would take 2 weeks. i go back after 2 weeks and they tell me it will take one more week. I go back and the drycleaning was done well, but they completely ruined my shirt so that i will never be able to wear it again. i complain and the front desk person lies to my face saying that she told me they would not be able to replace it and claims she has this on security footage, when i challenge her on this she admits the lie. she was also straight up rude and unhelpful and refused to give refunds when i had paid a lot of money for them to fix it. if it is unfixable, any professional business would say so, but instead they try and get me to pay when they ruin my shirt. do not come here if you value your clothes and want to have good customer service. read more

Always professional and polite. I have my clothes cleaned and suits tailored at this place. read more

Vogue got the stains out of some clothes that I had been afraid were unsalvageable. Highly recommend them.

Lovely, honest people. Excellent service, cleaning. great prices. did the job we needed in a timely manner and were open about not being able to fix the zipper on a very thick cotton hoodie. (though were able to replaced one on a coat- and it looks great!) read more

Amazing quality and kind people! Definitely recommend this place for dry cleaning and alterations.

Can't thank these folks enough! I recently moved to the neighborhood and this was the first time going to Vogue. I was in a bind a needed suit pants hemmed by 1pm for an event, and could only drop them off that morning. They said "no problem" and got the job done: pants were ready when I walked back in at 1, price was reasonable, and the altercation was well done. Will definitely be using Vogue as my go-to cleaning and altercations spot! read more

The clothes that were returned were great. However, I picked my clothes up, went out of town and started packing for the next trip to discover that three items are missing. I went up there to just ask them to look. I got - we are sure that we gave them to you. No we will check and get back to you, nothing. I just returned to Chicago after being away for many years. The service here leaves much to be desired. The other cleaner in the area never has your clothing ready when they say it's going to be ready. Welcome back to the Windy City. Sigh. read more

This business will ruin your garments, and not even apologize for being incompetent. If you care about your clothes, don't take them to Vogue Cleaners in Hyde Park, ever. I searched for Vogue Cleaners on the Better Business Bureau's website to write a review there as well, but Vogue Cleaners in Hyde Park isn't an accredited business. I'm not surprised. read more

I'm sad to be leaving Chicago... otherwise I'd go to Vogue more often! Mr and Mrs Kim did a great job with a HUGE load of clothes (ranging from evening gowns to sweaters). They had a very friendly attitude and their prices were reasonable. If I'm ever living here again, I wouldn't hesitate returning. read more

Mr. & Mrs. Kim make every trip to Vogue Cleaners a pleasure! I've had nothing but great experiences with all types of cleaning and tailoring over the past 6 years and look forward to many future visits. They are the best! read more

Horrible customer service! Mrs. Kim has a bad attitude. I have been going to this cleaners in the past few Months. The lady was nice the first time, that encouraged me to kept going there with my laundry. Even though their Prices aren't cheap. They overcharged me for one of my blouse - $15.00 and I asked nicely for a discount, Mr. Kim was nice and gave me a discount, but Mrs. Kim will not have it, she was super angry came to warn me can't bring my stuff over there and ask for discount. Mrs. Kim must learn that Business collapse when run it with attitude. A little customer appreciation and consideration can go a long way. They have lost me as a customer, and so do all friends I recommended them to. read more

Horrible service, unstable owners. My wife had an expensive shirt cleaned here, which they managed to ruin by shrinking. BTW, clothes should never shrink when dry cleaned unless the machinery is defective and water gets into the works. While Mr. Kim didn't deny what had happened, he never apologized, but offered to give my wife $50 (it was a $200 shirt used for interviews and work). We were very hesitant to take this deal, since the shirt was only a few months old, but grudgingly decided to accept. When my wife returned later in the day to collect the money and the shirt, however, things had changed. Mrs. Kim became irate and accused my wife of lying about the shirt in order to "steal" from them and "hurt their business." She refused to give my wife the promised recompense OR THE SHIRT! Only by standing there (holding our infant son) and demanding that Mrs. Kim honor the original deal and return my wife's legal property--in full view of customers--did Mrs. Kim relent, berating wife all the time. I have lived in Hyde Park for 40 years, and my family has used this cleaner for much of that time. I've put up with their mediocre work--shoddy alterations, sub-par cleaning--because they are a local business. I now realize that they are not only incompetent, but also malicious and unstable. My family will never use them again, and I strongly discourage anyone else from dealing with these unscrupulous people. read more

I feel bad to give such a bad review to such a stylish good looking owner but I have no choice. I recently moved to Chicago and I work in an environment where I'll need to wear a shirt and tie everyday so I have a lot of dry cleaning per week. First time I came here I was very satisfied even though their prices aren't as cheap as a place I would find as a regular place I would go to. A couple of days after I was suppose to attend an event in the evening so I needed a same day service for specific shirt I needed. I called at 8 am and they told me they would be able to do a same day service as long as I bring my stuff before 10 am. I showed up 5 minutes after calling, dropped my shirt off and made sure to mention I am the person who called earlier and would want the same day service. I go back at 5 pm to pick my shirt up and they didn't have it ready. In fact they said it would be ready in 6 days! I explained to them how I called this morning and came in for the same day service but the gentleman there told me he remembers someone calling but was lying to my face saying I didn't say I want the same day service when I came in and he didn't know I am the guy who called! No effort was done to resolve the issue such as calling the dry cleaning company and asking to at least process my shirt ASAP. No compensation was given such as free service for the specific shirt I gave them. Most importantly no apology was offered! A simple apology and accepting they made a mistake would've made this review a 4-5 stars and kept me as a customer. Mistakes happen but as a business owner you would need to own up to your mistake, apologize and try your best to satisfy your customer. read more

ive been going here for years, as soon as i walk in they pull up my clothes without me even giving them my ticket. they are very friendly and professional, and importantly affordable! they even notice when i've been traveling for a long time and haven't been around. the service is honestly the best cleaners i've ever used, i've brought in silk tops i wanted to alter they said would be very difficult, they did a perfect job. i've brought in tops with old stains they said would be difficult to remove, again they did a perfect job. wouldn't use any other cleaners! read more

Oh, how I miss Mr. and Mrs. Kim and their beautiful chow-chow dog and Vogue Cleaners. Never thought I'd rhapsodize about a dry cleaner from across the country, but Vogue was the perfect local cleaner. Good alterations, never lost anything, knew me and the kids by name. Never looked at me like I was some kind of crazy cat lady when I'd bring in black clothes covered in grey cat hair because I'd been too lazy to hang something up and one of the beasts had slept on it. Did their level best with impossible stains and had the honesty to say "Give up. It will never come out" when the occasion called for it. Great value, great people. Still looking for their replacement out here in California. read more
