First, I want to thank the owner for her personal care and concern when I visit the store and that I will continue to bring my most precious garments to her establishment. With that said: I have never been so disrespected by an establishment in my entire life. While picking up my $400 hoodie that I had dry cleaned, I enquired about the seamstress being able to repair a $500 GG Gucci belt that had been tattered upon the end tip of the strap. One of the attendant ladies stated "Im not trying to be funny but is this real?" I said this is a $500 belt that I am trying to save. She says to me, "You know these kids" I interrupted her in mid-sentence and said, "I am 50 years old!" The anger was there but I didn't want to be perceived as the aggressor, and I didn't want to reciprocate the disrespect I had received. I wanted to tell her that she was not funny but highly offensive, and that an Asian dry cleaners would never talk to us like that, for it is our own kind that believe that familiarity gives one the right to disrespect their customers. Again, I am not holding this beautiful establishment responsible for one clueless employee's lack of customer service. Visited here once to get a patch on some jeans, took a bit longer than most places and the patch didn't last long but I got over it. Visited today to get some alterations and was greeted by a terrible attitude. The cashier repeatedly told me I should've shown up earlier. Snapped at me about my measurements. Snapped and said I'll have to pay again if the alteration doesn't fit. Then told me it would take 6-7 days to finish. Sadly I'll have to go to another place in the morning where I can get some quick and professional service. So frustrating to always get bottom of the barrel service from my own people. read more

Please please do not go to this cleaners!!! My experience was so bad and the level of stupidity I experienced was almost like I was being pranked! I decided to use this cleaners because I was looking for a local black cleaners to patronize. All I needed was for a button to be sewn on and a press. The girl rang it up and gave me a receipt for $2.50. When I came back to pick up my item, I was given a total of $10 and was informed the original worker rang it up incorrectly for $2.50. She went further to inform me that they called me several times to notify me of the mistake and give me the new price... turns out not only was it rung up incorrectly but the girl also took my phone number down incorrectly. Instead of apologizing for the mistake and honoring the original price I was given. I was made to pay for the new $10 price and told to call back to speak to the owner. I called to speak to the owner and was told the owner was too busy to speak with me. I was also told that the cashier who made the mistake was not train properly and that they would split the cost of the new charge with me, giving me a $3 credit. WHAT?!! So the customer has to pay for an employee's mistake?? Split the cost?? This was the cleaner's responsibility!! All I wanted was a refund of the extra $7.50... instead I'm told they will split the cost with me and the owner is too busy to concern himself with me??? NEVER NEVER NEVER will I use this place again nor would I ever recommend this to anyone. I put some pants in the cleaners and just to get them cleaned and pressed came back to get them they had spots all over them they clean them again and they had spots on them all over so the only thing she can tell me is to clean them again why you cleaning them so many times and you still putting the same spots on them you all need to pay for my pants you messed up that's why it's so hard to support your community because when you do they mess up I wore those pants one time and had them clean and now I can't wear them anymore because they're stained read more

Since I live near the South Shore area I thought that it would be a good gesture to shop and support our local businesses. Two weeks ago, I went to City Cleaners to have my clothes dry-cleaned. When I approached the front desk,the person did not greet me at all. I told him that I was a new customer who needed his assistance. When I came back the second time, I arrived at 6:45 p.m, 15 minutes before closing. Again no one greeted me and the person took my ticket without saying a word. Talk about being antisocial. I liked the friendly personal customer service I received from Vetrease when I entered City Cleaners. She was warm and friendly and told me about the discounts I could receive on the clothes I put in to be dry cleaned. I also brought in a dress that needed to be pressed on that day thinking I would have to come back later but she was able to have it done right on the spot. I ordered a XL dress from fashion Nova instead of a L so I took it to this cleaners because this is the closest one I took It January 20 2021, Wednesday she said it'll be ready Monday, (the lady at the register laid the dress on the counter looked all to measure it told me the price) I said okay thats find thank you so Monday I sent my mom there it wasn't ready nor did they tell her when it was go be ready so today, Tuesday, I get a miss call so I call back and they tell me you have not one stain but stains on the dress and it'll be $8.50 to get out ( keep in mind I took it to get fitted, so I had to put it on for them so the lady can put the pins in to know how far to take it in and she didn't say she saw anything on the dress) so I asked is the dress ready she said "YES the repairs are done" okay so now I say why did y'all wait until y'all was done to call and tell me this about the stains NOTHING is said. Oh yeah Monday when my mom went to pick it up and they told her it wasn't ready my mom looked over and saw the dress just laying on top of some other stuff (the shit that's probably now all over my dress) so now I'm meeting with the owner Wednesday morning because now she telling me they probably can't get the stains out and everybody that was there when I paid was there today not admitting to anything, then the lady had the nerve to say fashion nova send there clothes like that now almost EVERYONE order from fashion nova including myself and never heard of them doing that I'll be back to let everyone no the solution after meeting with the owner read more

If you want to receive an alteration please do not go here. First off they are very overpriced and unprofessional. I brought in my winter coat for the zipper to be replaced. When I took the coat in, the first woman I spoke to I mentioned and I quote "I will like to replace the zipper with a gold one." I mentioned this unconsciously because I would never assume that a seamstress would remove gold hardware and replace it with silver hardware unless the hardware was being replaced all around, but I said it anyways just to be sure. The point is for the hardware to match as closely as possible. When I went to pick up the coat, the zipper was replace with a silver zipper and I noticed immediately even with the coat being inside of the plastic. It was a noticeable difference. I mentioned to the lady at the front desk that I was not satisfied and wanted the zipper replaced with a gold zipper as I mentioned when I first brought it in. She mentions to me that the hardware on the coat appears to her to be closer to the silver color being that the gold color zippers that they have in the shop are darker than the hardware on my coat. I really didn't care because if you feel that you don't have a color to match exactly, you call the customer and have them come in to make the color selection themselves not make your own decision, which to me, symbolizes poor customer service because she didn't care about what was more pleasing to me. Asking for the gold zipper became a huge issue and the owner got involved. James (the owner or that's what he said in the voicemail) calls me on a workday at 7am, which is before working hours and an unprofessional time to call someone, to speak to me about the coat and tell me that I should have been more specific with the color zipper that I wanted, which I surely was when I first dropped the coat off. But of course none of the workers will admit that.... I missed the call at 7am but immediately called back and spoke to a female worker and asked to speak to James. She proceeded to ask me what I was calling for. This pissed me off because when someone calls to speak to the owner, why do you need to know why I'm calling?... It's like she was trying to cover for something.... I did not mention to her why I was calling, I just simply said that James called me and I'm returning his call. The owner got on the phone and proceeded to be unprofessional after I politely told him that I don't believe this error is of the fault of the customer because if the seamstress didn't have the exact color zipper as the hardware on the coat, I do believe that she should have gotten me involved before making any changes to see which color zipper I'd prefer best. He tells me and I quote "I would assume that you would be more logical about this matter" as if I was being unreasonable for not being satisfied with a silver zipper when all the other hardware on the coat is gold. He mentioned that in his eyes the silver zipper is closer in color to the hardware on the coat than the gold zippers they had access to. He was saying it as if his opinion was best and should have satisfied me. He told me that If they were to replace the silver zipper I would have to pay an additional $20 which now brought the total to $60 just to replace a zipper. This place is very unprofessional and I do not recommend. You will be treated like crap if there is an issue. The service is absolutely terrible and the workers are very unprofessional. One comforter was still visibly dirty, another had two, open safety pins inside- I found them by getting stuck! How they managed to get safety pins inside it, escapes me. There weren't any holes in it before it was dropped off. Why would anyone use safety pins on a comforter anyway? That's what hangers are for. And they clearly didn't clean the other one. I have had the worst experiences with this cleaners... I took my husband leather coat to be repaired because of a half square tear. I got it back and it had glue all around it. I left it there so the owner can address it and I will update after but I would say if you care about your clothes do not go to this cleaners. read more

Started going to this cleaners when I 1st moved to the area about 2 yrs ago b/c it was conveniently close to my home. I should have stopped going a loooooong time ago but I was trying to support a neighborhood business but, after the ruined my trench coat and acted as if I should get over it, I decided to take my business elsewhere. Now, everyone is always pleasant and my clothes are always done on time and they have Sunday hours which was awesome but I can't get past the pure laziness that is evident when my clothes are returned to me. On a few occasions I noticed that my clothes weren't pressed very well and still showed the "bend wrinkles" in the elbows of my shirts and knee area on my pants. They clearly weren't using enough steam. I also got my pants hemmed by their angry little troll of a seamstress. The fitting room had an ant infestation. When alterations were complete, the seam was crooked and loose in areas. I didn't bother going back to complain b/c I didn't want to deal with the troll-lady. I didn't return for a while after the pants incident but I went back....SIIIIIGH...I know I shouldn't have taken my expensive trench coat there and I regret it each time I look at the janky buckles on the sleeves of my coat. When I picked up my coat, I noticed that the sleeve buckles were frayed and torn. I asked the manager on duty about and told her it wasn't like that when I bought it in and she just gave me that " What do you want me to do look" and I gave her the "You better do something about my coat before I turn this place out look!" She went and got the owner and we looked at the directions on the coat and it stated CLEARLY that all the buckles should be covered in foil. He expressed his apologies and said he would purchase buckles to replace the damaged ones. I knew this whole situation was gonna be a mess but I agreed. He said to give him 5 days. Day 5, coat not ready and they tell me to come back in 2 days. 2 day later, coat still not ready. When I fnally get my coat, I see they put ugly plastic seat belt-looking buckles on my coat!! I told the manager this was unacceptable, they were ugly and I just wanted my money back and I wanted to speak w/ magager. She said she would leave note for manager to call me back. In the meantime, "the troll" is in the background talking smack about me wanting to speak to manager. It took everything in my soul not to address the "little runt". So that was almost a month ago and no call back, and I kinda knew they wouldn't call back b/c that's what these type of tacky businesses do: take our money and give you a crappy product and horrible customer service. They suck and you shouldn't waste your time or money in an establishment that doesn't put the customer 1st! read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life - I have been there over at least 12 times. However this time I left 2 orders there since August however yes I did forget about them cause LIFE happens I get a call on a Sunday in Nov that you do have unclaimed items that need to be picked up I told the caller that I would be there this week I go Tuesday during my lunch to be told that my order has been put in storage now I have to pay my order in full + storage of $5. However your aren't not here u have to paid in full first then come back tomorrow after 7am to pick up your items. I go back the very next morning at around 745am. Oops Ms. Young your items are NOT here yet. I get a call around approximately noon for them let me know that my items have arrived back to where I left them. " Ms. Young ur clothes are here for u to pick up but u have to pay ur $5 storage fee" .... So much for supporting a black business read more

I took 3 coats to have cleaned and one of those to to have a zipper replaced. When I got the coats home for a closer inspection, all the coats still had not been cleaned. It was as if they ran a water brush against them leaving residue that wasn't there when I dropped them off. To top it off, the black coats had so much lint on them I couldn't believe it! I certainly did't drop them off full of lint!! And certainly a professional cleaners would never let a garment leave the shop without it being pristine and lint free! No pride was taken in the finished garment presented to the customer. I was very upset and felt totally like taking the coats back and complaining but I felt I'd get no where with the complaint and knew I wouldn't get a refund and no way would I let them attempt a second cleaning. I thought it would be more effective warning folks to take your clothes here at your own risk. I'll never solicit this establishment again and will warn everyone I know to avoid at all costs. I actually give them zero stars ! They charged me $75 and some change, $30 for the zipper. What a waste of time and money. read more
