This is by far the biggest surprise in Fallon! Outstanding! I walked into a clean restaurant and was greeted immediatly by the gentleman at the desk with a sincere smile and was seated immediately. The two waitresses that took care of me were incredibly helpful and made some amazing recommendations. They answered all questions I had and just when I thought the service couldn't get any better, my food was to my table in 5 minutes - seriously! Normally when food comes out that quickly I tend to be a bit apprehensive (thinking that it was already pre-made and thrown in the microwave to be reheated). But when I saw and tasted how fresh everything was, I was impressed. The Phos broth tasted homemade and the vermicelli dish was out of sight! Not to mention they paid attention to the request I had of no onions. If you happen to be in Fallon, come here! Absolute best Asian restaurant I've seen in US so far. Me, my husband and my dearest friends, 4 of us, we had a two week road trip around AZ, UT, CA, NV. That day we had a real need for a good breakfast, but better - a solid meal, to keep on going for next 300 mi. Fortunately, there was this fantastic place right next to our hotel. Open at 11 am, and with the full menu. 1. I go to Thailand pretty often, and I value an authentic Thai food. You'll get it there, I promise! A REAL Tom Yum Goong! Any level of spicyness you want. The fried rice with seafood, noodles with pork - everything was absolute perfection. Same about Vietnamese - PHO was fantastic. Great, thick stock, and you can say that it was made with an actual meat, not from the damn powder. All vegetables - fresh, AND - believe or not, them use a het fang, Straw Mushroom! It was a pleasant surprise, have not seen it for long time! 2. Portions are giant. We didn't expect it, and got a lot for to go. I mean - A LOT. Whole dinner for four people. 3. Prices - cheap. It is cheap, specially for what we've got. 4. Service - we've been served like dearest friends. All the staff did everything to make us feel comfortable, even offered to put two tables together, for more convenience. Also - it was fast. They really give you all the possible care. Smiles, friendliness, hospitality. 5. And what was the cherry on this pie - we were going to take some food to go, and I've asked our waitress - can we buy couple of thai plastic soup spoons, we had none. Guess what? They said - please, we just will give you some. And they did! Spoons, forks, chopsticks, all you need. And these beautiful people put it all into a cardboard box! It was really, really touching! People really care of them customers. Try to find this kind of treatment in our time. All this together with the quality of the food makes this place a real gem. Food is fresh, tastes good and is surprisingly authentic tasting and staff is friendly to boot. We didn't wait long for our food to arrive either. Fallon really needed a Pho place and this place more than delivers if you're a fan of pho or Vietnamese food in general. They also have a smaller Chinese menu if you're apprehensive to try, new to it or just plain not in the mood for pho or Vietnamese food. Restaurant itself is clean and spacious and the atmosphere is casual. Great for lunch or dinner. I'm definitely going to be a regular here and I hope the food and service stay where its at or even improve from here. I will write another review after a few months. read more

We kind of stumbled upon this place yesterday on our roadtrip via highway 50 to california. What a nice surprise! Husband and I both had rare beef pho. Absolutely delicious! We stopped for gas nearby and checked Yelp to see if we should do our usual picnic lunch in a park. Reviews were so good on Vn Pho that we decided to take a chance. We both ordered Vietnamese as we prefer lighter dishes and were pleased. My iced coffee lacked the flavor profile of a SF area Vietnamese one but still was enjoyable. I enjoy eating here whenever I am visiting Fallon. The service is great and the portions are a lot bigger than you might think they would be. Prices are decent and they provide quick service. Finally, a great dinner in Fallon. We have had so many bad meals here. We tried this place on something of a whim. We were impressed. The hostess met us at the door promptly and seated us. Our waiter came over and was more than happy to explain items on the menu to us. We ordered spring rolls for an appetizer. My wife had stir fry chicken with mixed vegetables and I ordered stir fry beef with spring peas. I also had to try a small bowl of the beef pho soup. First, the spring rolls camp promptly and were delicious. All very fresh ingredients served with peanut sauce. The pho soup was hot and very tasty served with the usual Vietnamese condiments of bean sprouts, hot peppers, fresh mint, and lime. We both thought our stir fry very tasty and made from fresh ingredients with sauces a bit different and well balanced as compared to the usual Chinese style. All dishes were very generous portions. I would highly recommend Vn Pho and we will be back the next time we're in Fallon. read more

We moved here from San Jose, CA a few years ago and we missed the variety of Vietnamese restaurants we were offered back there. If you're looking for a delicious pho soup then this is the place or perhaps you want the spring rolls with peanut sauce? Yum. The soups are huge so order the small size or the large if you're planning to share. Service is prompt and for dessert I'd recommend the Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. Now, they have Chinese food as well, but I've usually have gone there for the Vietnamese experience and food. "Hidden gem" in Fallon, but located right on the main road when traveling from Reno to Vegas. Fantastic food (I'm Vietnamese)--fresh ingredients, flavorful broth, cooked to perfection. I may have hit Vn Pho on an off night. My experience was nightmarish. A number of people, I included, waited for a table much too long; there were empty tables and the wait staff seemed oblivious and indifferent. Once seated, I waited ten minutes for a waitress to take my order; then it took an overly long time to receive it. A couple who came in after me and another couple next to me, were served before us (me and the second couple) while we gazed on astonished. The food, barely warm, was uninspired. The servers seemed totally untrained. A significant amount of time elapsed after I paid my waitress for the meal, so I had to go to the cashier, who appeared to be going off in seventeen different directions, point out my check on the counter and pay. During the entire time I was there, I didn't observe any normal courtesies from the employees--not a single smile or a "Thank you." For the first time in my life, I didn't leave a tip. Never again. Finally, several other parties expressed similar dissatisfaction, and having been seated, some left after being ignored. read more

My first visit and very surprised at the quality of the food. I had the fresh lemonade for a drink and it really was fresh! I ordered the pork spring rolls and they were super tasty! My meal was the seafood noodle soup which was excellent. Would give five stars but service could be improved in two ways. 1. The waiter could have offered to get me another lemonade after I finished mine. 2. It would be nice if the waiter asked if I wanted anything else before dropping the check at my table halfway through my meal. Went back to VN again tonight. We get take out all the time. We get the same thing all the time. However it is always different. My wife's soup had half the chicken it normally has, my meal the 38 had 2 pieces of shrimp (normal) one egg roll (normal), the meat quantity was not normal. I had 10 small pieces of meat. Usually there is a lot more than that. I feel like the cooks just aren't consistent with the way the food is served. I really think we are going to have to take our business back to Carson City and get a meal that is worth the money we spend, ( usually upwards of 50.00 every couple of weeks) and is consistent. read more
