Clean and organized and more colors to chose from than I knew existed . I came here for about a year to get my nails done. I eventually stopped going because they became clumsy and lazy. One of the male nail tech sliced my finger open all the way across from one end to the other. It had not stopped bleeding for several hours. He still made me pay for my nails even tho he messed up big time. Shortly after a friend of mine was going there. She got a really bad infection. She wasn't sure why and then thought perhaps they didn't clean their tools. When she stopped going there, the infection went away and she didn't have any more problems. read more

I have been going to VJ Nails for about 4 years now and was always very satisfied up until the like 6ish months. I have had multiple situations where my nails have turned out crooked, lumpy and all different lengths. I am a client who will speak up when I don't like something during my appointment which many of the nail techs will ignore me when I voice my concerns multiple times! I have gone back on many occasions to get them fixed which is usually no problem for them but as of recently I had called telling the owner I was not satisfied with my nails and she had said it was my fault. On the phone the owner told me "(my name) listen, if you don't like how someone does your nails book with someone you like". I found this extremely rude as I am a full-time student and work part-time which makes it difficult to get in with the person I want when I have a limited time outside of work and school. Also, I believe every nail tech should be trained properly and provide clients with great results consistently. After the phone call I decided to go into the nail salon and speak to the owner face-to-face with how displeased I was and show her the terrible job done on my nails. She had admitted to the poor work done and offered for me to get them fixed or a refund. I chose to get them fixed as I was not going to walk around with my nails looking the way they did. A nail tech fixed them which took an hour! During the time I was getting them fixed the owner had said to me "full sets are really hard to do, long nails are really hard to do, you should have short nails" (clearly I had booked an appointment for a new set as I was in need of a fresh set). Again, blaming me for the work done on my nails. Personally I like to wear my nails long and thats the reason I go to get them done. On a side note, I have recommended about 5-6 people to go here that have become regular clients. I will not be going back here as I felt very disrespected and unvalued as a client. As well as people I referred to the salon will not be returning. Save your money and time! read more

My wife won't be going back there. They left grind marks on all of her finger nails and when they were doing the pink and white, red marks showed beneath the pink coating. She said the nails were not fitted properly as well. She ended up getting coloured nails done because she said the nails looked horrible. read more

Customer service here is terrible. I was a client for more than a year where I often waited more than 15 minutes past my appointment time. I came back from a vacation and was told that I looked fat. I was shocked. I will never come back. Beyond that the colour selection is poor and there is no consistency with the nail techs. read more

I have been here several times in the past. I was very disappointed last visit but thought I would not comment and try it again. Very poor quality of work. I felt like I was rushed out the door. Most pedicures I have had last an hour. I was in and out in 24 minutes. The next day it didn't even look like my feet had been done. The price is very good but I would rather pay a bit more for a quality pedicure. Hope my next visit won't have to be the last! read more

This place is awesome. The best nail salon out of the 4 or 5 I've been to. They're always really accommodating for walk ins. They work quickly and efficiently and always do a good quality job (other places I've been to forgot to paint the tips of my nails and made them look sloppy). Not too pricy, a really good selection of colors, good service. And theyre always happy to have a conversation with you while doing your nails. AND there's a great noodle soup place right next door or a Ricky's across the parking lot so you can get lunch afterward woot woot read more

I had my nails done here on May 2, 2018. VJ's was recommended to me as my regular mancurist was away. I had been here many years ago. I was very surprised at run down it has become over the years. It definitely needs an upgrade. Made me wonder just how clean their tools were. I had acrylic french nails done for a trip to Portugal. In those two weeks, I had 3 nails break--right down to where the white part begins. As a tourist, I wasn't doing any dishes, housework, or gardening! Would not recommend this place--at least for acrylic nails. read more

I went here knowing that I would get what I paid for. Do yourself a favour and spend a little bit more, you are worth it. I am not sure what kind of paint they are using but it is not nail polish and it will take you days of scrubbing or some harsh chemicals to take it off. My friend and I have been going here since it opened. Almost 10yrs ago. We've tried others in between but always end up back here. The owner Tran is always up on new trends and keeps the place updated to. She can do any design or recreate anything you find on the web. They do get very busy on weekends so I suggest a weekday apt. But appointments are suggested in general. They have a lot of faithful regulars and can usually fit you in with a couple hours notice if you don't care who you see. I have my favourites but I think they're all pretty good. read more

This place is horrible. I was there for a pedicure. Which cost me $63 !! Which is more I've ever paid for a pedicure before. I did get shellac like I always do at other places and they have always been around $45-$55. This place charged me $5 to take my old shellac off, which took literally 1 minute, and I would think that since I was paying to get shellac put BACK on that the hidden charge of $5 wouldn't have been necessary. They didn't use plastic covers in the pedicure bowls and they were rushing my service and doing things out of order. So horrible I will never go back !!! read more

I am very sorry to say that I will NEVER come back to this place again. I have been going to see Tran for several years for gel nails and lately she has seemed very rushed and negative. So I stopped getting fills and grew out my nails. Today I treated my mom from Winnipeg to a mani-pedi. I pre booked and at arrival they seemed surprised we were there. The lady that did my service was very rushed and missed some steps. For example when she put on the green exfoliating cream she placed that leg back in the water without rubbing it in. The water temp was also cold and she didn't attempt to change it till the end. I was NOT going to complain because I was with my mom and wanted her experience to be pleasant. Her service seemed fine until she smudged her toe polish when she was asked to walk to the drying table. They said they fixed it but as I was paying it was still smudged. They made her stand as they painted it again, at which time Tran yelled across the room to say "they would not fix it for a 3rd time and it was not their fault". Yes my mom has bunions but she herself can do her own nails and not have smudges. STOP RUSHING, THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A RELAXING SPA TREATMENT, STOP BEING SOOOO RUDE TO PAYING CUSTOMERS AND STOP THE BLAME GAME, IT IS NOT FLATTERING AND INFACT IT IS RUDE. read more
