Don't do it! In the first month I got 3 different calls trying to upsell me. My system went down after one month, their customer support texting is awful, the session would time out and I would have to explain everything all over again each time. Call in and EVERY SINGLE TIME they would try to upsell me, my freaking system is down maybe you can fix it and then try to upsell me - nope! The other big problem is the left hand doesn't talk to the right in this company. You are told one thing and then you get your bill and have to call in again.... The other big problem is the price on the website says $25 bucks per month. NOPE I was told that was the OLD PRICE years ago and yet they still have it as BAIT on the website. A Vivint representative named Trevin came to my house and completely misled us. He convinced us to sign up by claiming we wouldn't have to make any payments for a couple of months, knowing full well that my partner and I had just moved into our new home and were trying to manage our bills. We repeatedly told him we weren't sure about getting the system, but he pushed hard, reassuring us that we had time before payments kicked in. That was a blatant lie. The first bill was due the very next month. When we tried to reach out for an explanation, he dodged our calls and refused to respond. The cameras are absolutely mediocre. They frequently fail to detect people, the video quality is subpar, and the audio is practically useless you can barely hear anything when someone speaks. For a company that claims to provide security, this system is a joke. On top of that, the pricing Trevin quoted us was a complete scam. We're paying more than what he originally promised, and trying to cancel the contract is an absolute nightmare. To get out of it, we'd have to cough up a staggering $5,000, and the worst part? Payments have to be made separately to both Vivint and Fortiva, the system's shady loan provider. Do yourself a favor stay far away from Trevin and Vivint. This company is built on deception, their products are second-rate, and their contracts are designed to trap you in a financial mess. RUN FORREST RUN! So here is the latest on this Horrific company. I got a call from their attorney, who wasn't an attorney, she works in the attorney's office. She said I would get a full refund, when I hear a full refund, I think a full refund, this means, what was charged to my credit card, needs to be credited to my credit card. To be clear, Vivint came to my home and took all the equipment, which they now own, that equipment will be put into another person's home, who will then be paying for it. I was only given a credit of about $300.00 ... so I ask you, where did that total come from?? nowhere does that number add up... they just pulled that number from the sky. They also said they would reinstall my doorbell and doorknob, but did NOT, I had to pay someone to reinstall those items, AND I have holes in the walls and door... (thank you Vivint). Do they think I am stupid? Dear Vivint, Please do the right thing and give me a FULL REFUND, it is this unbecoming of a company to nickel and dime your customers. After multiple faulty sensors (doors saying they are open when they are actually closed and locked) as well as door locks not working with the app, not being able to lock the doors consistently through the app, and several hours on the phone and chat trying to "troubleshoot" the problems they are charging me 50$ service charge to send someone out to try and fix their faulty stuff. I've been paying for inconsistency but they can't send me out a tech to look and their problems?? Seriously, I don't have the time (or patience anymore) to troubleshoot all these dumb problems with them over the phone! If I were to set my alarm with their faulty sensors saying I opted to bypass those "open doors" and someone broke in, I would be liable for the break in! So bugged at the service response I've gotten with them. Heaven forbid our house gets broken into, I'm not even sure the inconsistent alarm system would do any good.
