I was able to secure an appointment for next day and about an hour before my scheduled time, I received a text letting me know who my technician was, a picture of her and a short bio. This added personal touch built an immediate connection and trust before Amanda even arrived. When she got there, she and her partner, Jose, both donned shoe covers and asked permission to access the thermostat and then the unit itself. I appreciated their professionalism. They were very respectful of my home. Fortunately, it was a quick fix (the home inspector had flipped a switch that I didn't know existed, disabling the AC). But while they were there, they did an inspection of all the AC to make sure everything was in working order. I won't hesitate to contact Main Street again if I need help with HVAC. I was completely appalled by Main Street Heating and Cooling. We live in a 2 year old home and our 2 year old furnace which is still under warranty for parts had the fan go out. Main Street came out and looked at the equipment and quoted us $1800 to replace a few parts to fix it. The tech never explained what was included until I asked. He then stated the parts were under warranty and this quote was for labor only (2-3hrs only). When asked why labor was $600-900 per hour he stated it was because this is a big company and we needed to pay for the warehouse people, the front office staff, and kept naming other people we need to pay for. Then he even tried to say he was giving us a discount. Just want people to know this is not acceptable and make sure to get multiple quotes. The next two companies we got quotes from were both under 1/3 this cost. read more

They were very prompt with my response to get an opinion about my furnace and could schedule same day to look at the furnace so they get some credit for that. Arnoldo/Brent The reason that the business does not warrant a 5 star review is that Brent pushed a lot on needing to buy a replacement furnace when it's not needed. Said I had crack in the heat exchanger and CO2 levels were high enough to warrant shutting off my furnace. That the replacement and installment would be too noisy for me to be working from home. I was not downstairs to observe the technician Arnoldo when he tested for CO2 for the furnace. I had two other technicians look at the furnace after them who concluded that my furnace is fine! No replacement or repair! For routine servicing of furnace, I recommend being present the entire time observing the technician. If the HVAC business tells you there's a crack or higher levels of CO2 and that you need to buy a replacement furnace, contact other technicians before making a decision. I don't recommend them for scaring me to go with a unnecessary $4K expense. I'm paying a technician for their expertise to identify real problems and they failed to do that. read more

We had Main Street install a mini split system (at least I think that's what it's called) into our house earlier this year and are pretty happy with the results! When they first gave us aquote, their price was much better than other companies. The technician that came out to give us our quote seemed very knowledgeable and walked us through what the process would be, which was something that the other companies didn't do. The installation process was quick and efficient, and all who worked on it were mindful of our pets and respectful of our home. The reason we're giving 4 stars rather than 5 is because the mini splits system has flipped the breaker a couple of times, which shouldn't be happening since the system isn't operating at full capacity. I'm sure Main Street will fix the problem when I bring it up to them, and then I'll be sure to come back and update this review. Bottom line: service AND product are great! THE BEST. Tanna came out the very next morning after I called at 8pm at night. She was super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. She fixed my furnace and hooked me up with some free filters. They said they would get to my house between 8 and 9am, they text me at 8 and got there at 8:30. She figured out the issue super fast and got everything done in less than half an hour. What a great experience with Main Street! We used another company to do the diagnostic when our AC stopped working, and they told us a few things were wrong. We called around for pricing and not only did Main Street come in at a great price but when they came out they found out not all of the work needed to be done. They were so honest, kind and fair. They easily could have charged us for all the work and we'd never have known the difference. Doug, our tech, was unbelievably friendly and patient in walking us through what caused the problem and how he fixed it. Zac helped us cleaning the AC for a good discount and charging the system for free. He is very knowledgeable and understand the system very well. He is also very patient to all my questions. I'm shocked that I'm writing this review, since after doing my research I found so many raving 5-star reviews from other folks. That is in fact why I chose to call this company in the first place to help me replace a gas valve on my furnace. I was quoted an hourly rate by the receptionist over the phone but after Doug arrived he chose to charge me a 50% higher rate than what was promised. When I questioned the additional cost he simply told me that the receptionist had quoted me the wrong rate. Way to stand behind your employees and honor their word! After the gas valve was installed the problem with our furnace continued and we were without heat for days while both my wife and I pleaded with Doug to come back and continue diagnosing the problem. After many failed promises to call us back it was clear that he did not want our business. We found a different company to help us and I would recommend everyone reading this to do the same. read more

This is maybe the worst service I have received. I hope people heed this review because in situations where your heating or in my case your cooking is out, you are already vulnerable to begin with. I called to set up an appointment and they sent a gentleman who claimed to have an understand of HVAC. He then proceed to mess around with my system for a few hours. Intermittently I would hear him calling other people to help him out with the problem but then when I spoke to him that day, he assured me it was a problem with my transformer and that he would need to come back. I schedule another appointment, rearranged my schedule so I could make the appointment. Unfortunately, I waited for 3 hours trying to get hold of the technician and no one seemed to be able to get in touch with him. Then the last time I get on the phone l, I am told that the technician can not do anything for me. ???!!!!!. How can someone promise to help with your problem and then you hear from the secretary on the phone that they don't have a solution. In the mean time you are boiling in 100 degree weather. They weren't the best price of all 5 bids, but were the best price of the ones I felt comfortable letting into my home. They installed it quickly and it works well. We had Zac come out yesterday to clean our blower and coils. First of all, they were about $150 cheaper than other companies. Second, every single person I spoke with was extremely friendly and helpful. I happened to mention to Doug I was home yesterday and he managed to get me in same day so I wouldn't have to take another day off. Zac was extremely kind and explained everything thoroughly. We didn't realize our water heater was turned down so I called next morning at 7am and Doug personally came 10 minutes later to show me how to turn it on. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with this company. We have had them to our home three times to fix the air conditioner during this hot summer. Each time it was something very minor to fix, like a fuse had blown. Not knowing anything about air-conditioning it would've been easy for them to say that something more serious was wrong. It impresses me that after three visits it is never cost us more than $100 to fix it. Moreover, each time they have been here within just a few hours of me calling them. I called this morning for the AC outside fan is not running. Brent arrived around noon time and quickly went to Fan outside to troubleshoot in the hot Sun. He replaced the bad capacitor and a bad fuse. Fixed the issue in one hour. Brent is so professional and friendly. Their price is reasonable. Our AC was blowing hot air so we called these guys in. Our home was built only a couple of years ago and we've had quite a few issues since we moved in, mainly with leaking puron (coolant liquid gas that is used now instead of freon). Here's how the service call went down. Saturday: First guy that came looked at it (very briefly) and said it was poor installation and the only fix was to replace the whole unit as some valves melted and said he couldn't charge the unit because he as out of puron and said he'd be back later that night to refill it... Surprise, surprise he never showed. P.S. who shows up to a service call knowing that the AC isn't working without the proper stuff to get it blowing cold air again! Oh, and did I mention that it was in the 90's and that our daughter was sick with a fever... Sunday: Normally we'd be at church but my wife stayed home with our sick daughter and another guy from main street shows up WITHOUT NOTICE saying he's here to fix our AC... She goes through the whole hoopla of explaining what the issue was, he does a little poking around, tells us our air filter is dirty and to run the unit without a filter for a few days (WHAT????) and quotes us $1,900 to replace the outdoor unit along with the inside stuff as well. The only good thing I can say is that he finally charged the unit and we had some relieve from the hellish hot box we'd been living in. Not trusting either of these shady guys' recommendations I called the folks that installed the unit when our house was built (which I should have done from the beginning but didn't see the sticker on the furnace) who quickly pinpointed a small holed in the soldering where the copper connects to the outdoor unit. It was brutally obvious and anybody who knew what to look for and that was actually doing their job would have found. He quickly fixed the hole, got us charged up, and was on his way. Needless to say, DON'T CALL THESE GUYS FOR REPAIRS as they're just in it for the money, will take advantage of your ignorant wives, and will leave you hi and dry on a hot day! Learned my lesson, that's for sure. Hope this helps someone steer clear as well. read more

We had a problem with our furnace not heating so I called Main Street! They set an appointment and e-mailed me prior to their arrival which was cool! I explained the problem and Doug and Jake begin to troubleshoot what could be causing the furnace to not heat properly?
