He applied sealant in a couple of areas where the house wasn't perfectly flat to make sure we don't have a future water issue. James had extra tools and materials that I didn't anticipate would be needed. Had I tried to do this project myself, it would have taken several back-and-forth trips to a hardware store and easily one or two full days up on a ladder. He also took the time to answer all of my questions about other HVAC issues (our custom home builder ghosted us on all our home warranty claims), provide bids to get things fixed, as well as bids for potential future upgrades we were considering, like adding a UV light and whole-home humidifier. Some contractors do sloppy work because they are trying to get to a job and leave as quickly as they can. Utah Quality Heating & Cooling is not like that. Quality work and pride in workmanship shouldn't be uncommon, but it is. "Quality" is a great word to use in the name of this small business. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy pro who will take time to answer questions, provide fair bids/estimates, isn't sale-zy, and who will prioritize doing the job well over doing the job fast. Sheldon, our technician, thoroughly tested our 12-year-old gas furnace and correctly diagnosed a problem. He is friendly and respected our property. We got a clear answer about a needed repair and he came by the next day and installed two inexpensive sensors. Total cost came to $139. He ran the furnace through several heating cycles while he waited to ensure he had corrected the problem. A few days before we had a competitor's technician take a look, but he didn't find the problem and instead recommended about $2200 in so-called repair parts. Most of those parts had nothing to do with the the problem. And I had installed some of them as new parts only a month or so ago. Talk about a scam. The competitor also tried to talk us into a complete, new HVAC system!!! Go with Method. They are a small, local company dedicated to their customers.

Our AC struggled from the first summer, but this year it became much worse. Our home was regularly 78-82 degrees, even with the AC running constantly, and we eventually had to move our mattress downstairs in the living room just to try and sleep. Method installed the HVAC system. After being told the warranty had expired, I had another HVAC company take a look. Their technician identified what was an obvious installation/workmanship issue and evidence that the refrigerant had leaked out. He recommended I contact the original installer before paying for an expensive repair because the issue was so clearly a mistake on their end. He mentioned that his company always honors that kind of work even outside of warranty. I contacted Method, explained the situation, and was told management (Cody) would call me back. After multiple service request follow ups, and more than two weeks, that call never happened. I eventually received another call from the front desk reiterating that the warranty had expired. Never the communication from Cody I was told to expect. I understand warranties have limits, but I expected a company to at least investigate a potential workmanship issue and follow through on a promised callback. If this was my business, I would feel importance in at least investigating an issue if it may have been our poor skills causing the issue. Method may be great in other areas, but that is not the experience we had. We are now facing a significant repair bill on a two year old home, as a result of their poor workmanship and lack of accountability. If accountability, communication, and standing behind your work matter to you, I would encourage you to ask some questions before choosing them.

I just got finished a few weeks before…read morewith a routine tune up from another HVAC company who told me both of my AC units were working great. I still had doubts on my upstairs unit which was struggling to get to its desired temperature. Then the downstairs unit outdoor fan stopped working. I went with Eagar for the diagnosis and they came by same day and diagnosed a common capacitor replacement issue. Replaced capacitor and downstairs unit started working as expected. Great! The technician was also willing to do a quick basic check on my upstairs unit and turns out it was low on refrigerant. 2 lbs and some UV dye/sealant later my upstairs system now can match the set temperature for a change, and I didn't have to break anywhere close to 4 or 5 digit pricing. The pricing seems fair to me. They don't offer those $30 tuneup prices but they also don't beeline to pressuring your into a new HVAC unit either or suggesting services which seem dubious and with exorbitant pricing. Makes it hard to trust. Instead Eagar charges a reasonably regular price but also gives your unit a fair, honest assessment, which ultimately is what I want, with units that are 18 and 12 years old! Chris recommend new, larger Amana units that would be much more energy efficient, saving us money, and helping to better heat and cool our home. So far they are working great! I've known Chris for several years now. This is the second time he's done a new installation for us. About five years ago he installed a new Tempstar furnace in our town house. We had a very old furnace at the time and the new Tempstar was a much needed upgrade. Chris also helped us qualify for the Utah Home Performance Plan, a state run program at the time, that saved us a lot of money on the new furnace. Chris is professional, dependable, and fairly priced. I appreciate that he takes the time to answer all of my many questions and educate me on different options and technology.
