It sprung a leak this week so I called Whirlpool about the warranty and they wouldn't go past the fact I'm not a licensed plumber. So I called Told Plumbing and told them I just wanted a new one installed, since I'm now a bit handicapped can't haul water heaters around any more. The guy that does the work called me and asked me about the brand/warranty and where I got it. When he got here, he said he'd take care of it. He ripped it out, hauled it down to Lowes, and got them to replace it for free with a newer model! James had extra tools and materials that I didn't anticipate would be needed. Had I tried to do this project myself, it would have taken several back-and-forth trips to a hardware store and easily one or two full days up on a ladder. He also took the time to answer all of my questions about other HVAC issues (our custom home builder ghosted us on all our home warranty claims), provide bids to get things fixed, as well as bids for potential future upgrades we were considering, like adding a UV light and whole-home humidifier. Some contractors do sloppy work because they are trying to get to a job and leave as quickly as they can. Utah Quality Heating & Cooling is not like that. Quality work and pride in workmanship shouldn't be uncommon, but it is. "Quality" is a great word to use in the name of this small business. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy pro who will take time to answer questions, provide fair bids/estimates, isn't sale-zy, and who will prioritize doing the job well over doing the job fast. Over all those years, that intrepid little clip worked its way down three stories, across three or four feet of nearly horizontal travel and three turns, and wound up jamming the inducer blower on my furnace. How do I know this? Because Kelly from Professional Heating and Air Conditioning found that clip at 6:00 AM on a 15-degree Saturday morning in February and got my furnace running again. I didn't need a new furnace today, but when I do need one, there's no doubt who I'm going to call.

They figured it was a defective coil from the supplier. The coil leaked all the coolant and the company had to come refill it with coolant and a dye to see if the coil was leaking. We had to pay $400 to repair this problem. Obviously the warranty had long expired on the part and labor, so we got charged for coolant, the new part, the dye and the labor. I'm very disappointed that this company KNEW that this part was defective from other customers complaints, yet they still insisted to bill us $400. Is this a scam they use on all of their customers? It seems like they didn't want to compensate us or offer any type of discount for this issue. At least offer us a couple of free tune ups or something! Disappointed big time!!

Why make an appointment then? So I reschedule for Tuesday 9-11. I wait here for an hour then get a text that again they can't make it because of a/c calls. Then why even make an appointment with me? Don't waste your time with this company. They'll end up wasting yours. Why make appointments and not fulfill them, people have to get off work, move around schedules ect. super short sighted.

What ended up happening? He never showed up and no one called to tell us where he was. We called the office and apparently he was behind, which would have been great information for my wife. He finally did come and fixed the issue but he pointed out some other issues we needed done. We scheduled him a second time, and made sure to stress that we needed him to come first thing in the morning so my wife could switch around her schedule to be there. Once again he didn't show up, at least this time he communicated to my wife that he would be late that day, at a time neither of us would be there so we gave him the code to our door to let himself in. He never came!!!! Again!!! Both me and my wife have been texting him asking if he came and what was done and what still needs to be done and he never answered. So unprofessional, ridiculous, wish I could give them 0 stars.
